As the title says my little concern is basically on some few boards (local board). Recently I have been visiting different local boards just checking through, really had nothing in mind. But I saw that the Chinese and Japanese board has little to no post sometimes. Heard over to Rikafip [CHARTS] Brief monthly overview of the local boards activity and I saw that this two are rarely mentioned because they don't have much activities. But then: I was poised to ask, Was there a time this local board where once active? because Rikafip stats only dates from 2020 till date. To Theymos and other staffs: Did you notice the boards? because seems like they are even less with minimum active yet have a board dedicated to them. not saying it's bad though just curious to know what exactly happened or what's happening to the people from there! To Barcode_(mod) Is there anything that resulted to low performance of the board, like a local happening? This might not sit well with everyone, just see it as one of those things.

Back in 2021, A private school here in Nigeria announced they will be accepting bitcoin or cryptocurrency at large for tuition fee. New Oxford Science Academy, a private secondary school in Kano State, Nigeria, has announced it will be accepting cryptocurrency as a means of payments for school fees despite the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) banning financial institutions from providing cryptocurrency-related services. However, on February 5 2021, the (CBN) Centre Bank of Nigeria already banned banks and/or financial institutions in Nigeria not to process transactions with crypto related activities yet don't make it clear that individuals shouldn't use crypto or trade it. Meanwhile, few months later Sabi’u Musa Haruna announced that his school (a private secondary school in Kano) will be accepting cryptocurrency to reduce the stress parents who will want to use such payment method. It was a brave act from him and I applaud him for that, I believe this is the first and only Nigerian to accept crypto in his school. While surfing the internet, it caught my attention, and I realised that this kind of discussion has not been raised here in the local board meanwhile it was discussed in other boards and was praised however in Nigeria it already happened years back.

Not to create long story! however I did experiment one of my long waited biases yesterday and it did turn out to be some sort of good guess but later failed.
On the basis of AI, I took a chance at Deepseek promoting it to give me a close guess or tips on what team to win football matches yesterday and somehow it gave a good tips with statistics that gave me a chance to be rational in decision making but because of greed and the payout was quite small so I added my own guess to increase the chance of high return and it turnout that my own guess ruined the bet.
Curious to ask, did anyone ever try this out? it could work and also fall.

Why the dormant account still a moderator? I was surfing the services discussion board and I noticed something I haven't seen anyone talk about here. or maybe they have and I haven't seen it. This user (Moderator) malevolent has been inactive for more than a year now, judging from his last activity (post). However, I got concerned for a mere reason that he still remains a mod even after a year of inactivity. Hence I'm asking, is there no rules regarding a mods inactivity? hilariousandco & Cyrus do all the job in the board. To Theymos: if you didn't noticed, I present it to you today.
Good point. I went through and removed several inactive moderators from various boards. Thanks!
Thank you Theymos.

Bitcoin has been on a very long/short dip since the beginning of 2025 and it's has seem like a norm that we all don't care much about the little drop down from it's former ATH to this current price of $86k even though we do show concerns but perhaps with our believes and expectations of the 2025 bull run and using the the know patterns of bitcoin bull run the dips are still normal as long as it has not dipped below/above 32% according some guys. But then my major concern is the recent reaction of the market, after a tweet from Trump about the Crypto Strategic Reserve which he mentioned Alts as major Strategic Reserve before reconstructing to mention that he also love bitcoin and the mother of Alts Eth. Immediately after that bitcoin price rallied from $85k to $95k which is more like a 10% increase in less than 5hrs and now in less than 30hrs bitcoin has return back to its previous position of $85k. This image displays a complete manipulation With all this happening I feel that the sudden reaction of bitcoin or the market generally is more of a manipulation it may seem very unlikely but from what I'm smelling bitcoin has left it's fighting stage with the former regime to a new phase of "manipulation" One of the biggest fear of a coiner (bitcoin) must be fear of bitcoin being manipulated one but perhaps it seems that we are likely to begin to face our fears as the Pro bitcoin or crypto regime is now a manipulative regime. This thoughts has been on me for quite some time now before the sudden reaction of the market which seems to point more to my instincts interpretation of Trump pro crypto statements during election and/or campaign. This is just my opinion, your opinion might be different.

The Chainanalysis, after several researches and computations, has finally got through 151 countries in the 2024 Global Crypto (Bitcoin) Adoption, and Nigeria is second to India in the globe to adopt Crypto/Bitcoin. Central & Southern Asia and Oceania (CSAO) dominates our 2024 Index, with seven of the top 20 countries located in the region. As we explore in the full report, CSAO has a unique set of crypto markets with high levels of activity on local crypto exchanges, with merchant services, and in DeFi. https://www.chainalysis.com/blog/2024-global-crypto-adoption-index/Of course, it's in our bloodlines to be top in every place we appear, but the fact that Nigeria isn't just reluctant in the new events of the world shows also the potential of Nigeria. It's good to see our activities count in the crypto (bitcoin) world. Since the ETF approval countries, nation-states have begun to look into bitcoin and making it a national reserve, but Nigeria is not in this league of countries that its lawmakers have proposed such investment in bitcoin, yet we are topping the globe in adoption.

Exactly as the title says, "What does privacy mean to you?" Of course, a lot of us claim that we are privacy lovers and we support privacy, but to an extent, some people have taken privacy very seriously, which is one thing I commend very much. I have been touring around this forum, and I see a lot of comments from some people regarding how careful they are with their assets (bitcoin); their seed phrases and private keys are so private to them that they do not share them with anyone, but that brought me to this question: Are people really aware of unforeseen circumstances? What if something happens to you? Who will be able to handle your assets when you're no longer there? and the question usually ends up with people speaking of inheritance and not the exact thing I wanted to hear. For instance, someone said he doesn't trust anyone to tell them his private key or anything close to his assets, but how do you all conceive this message? How can one be in a relationship (wife and children) if you cannot trust anyone in your family to the extent of telling them anything about your investment? This got me worried; hence I decided we should discuss it here. I know weird relationships exist, but is it to this extent? Open discussion

A quick search on Google will say this below on the purchasing power of dollar over decades Since 1972, it has fallen by 99 percent against gold and lost 90 percent of purchasing power of real goods and services. Imagine if US Dollar were a cryptocurrency, it would have been one of the most shitcoins ever. This is just reminder that bitcoin is a paradigm that has lead the would to a new way of doing things, and a solution to both financial crisis of 2007/2008 and Double spending. It has proven to have performed even high than Gold in recent times and is probably going to be top #1 of all cryptocurrency for as long as it keeps existing. Bitcoin is only a decade and five years old, the interest it has yeild and it's growth over the years both in price and community support has shown its uniqueness and should be taken as a serious investment. Don't trust a currency that depreciates over the years with your investment rather take advantage of bitcoin volatility today.

One of the big health companies Salmer Scientific Inc. announced their biggest adoption of bitcoin as a treasury reserve, Salmer Scientific has bought over 581 BTC which is worth over $40 million dollars. A pioneer in developing and marketing technology products and services to healthcare providers to combat chronic diseases, announced today that its board of directors has adopted bitcoin as its primary treasury reserve asset. In addition, Semler Scientific announced that it has purchased 581 bitcoins for an aggregate amount of $40 million, inclusive of fees and expenses. According to Mr. Eric Salmer he believes in bitcoin for two major reasons which includes it's unique characteristics as a scarce and finite asset that can serve as a reasonable inflation hedge and safe haven amid global instability and it's architectural resilience makes it preferable to gold.
Since the ETF approver bitcoin has witnessed alot of adoptions by big institutions and this has kept me pondering to myself that I'm being so lazy to have a good quality of bitcoin. perhaps if this big institutions are still buying big quantities of bitcoins why then you a small quantity holder sell? if this big institutions grap your quota of bitcoin are you sure you would be getting them back?. what I'm saying in essence is that we should keep buying, holding and never to sell as the night is still very young.

Since I have been posting in this board, I noticed that most of the things that we discusses in several threads are just the same things, perhaps they are either paraphrased or sharped in terms of word usage whereas they all say the same thing.
I also see a lot of spammers posting so many projects promotions in disguise trying to frame it as a useful discussion when it's just about the so called shitcoin they advertises. So it occurred to me to create a thread suggesting we keep the board clear with our own hands, most times in meta board when the issue of the forum boards are discussed altcoins discussions are considered spam board which not okay with. How about we make this board more clean and serious by discarding irrelevant threads and locking threads that have satisfied it's creation.
Here are my suggestions regarding how we can manage to control the level of shitposting in this board: Members can lock there threads after one or two pages of it's satisfaction; we should always check out our threads to find out if the desire answers have been given and once it has been reached the OP should lock the thread.
I also suggest that all post relating to the latest memecoins projects, should be in one thread to avoid numerous of threads with very low quality.
Additionally, we can fix this board gradually by reducing the way repeat questions: if you check properly in this board you would find several threads asking the same question such as; among this altcoins which one do you think will perform best, Vote the best memecoins this season etc. I think such threads should be compressed into one thread that would help the board to begin to look better.
what do you guys think? I will be locking the thread after 24hrs or in less that a day. thanks

Perhaps in recent times now I have been receiving a few of notifications from almost three (3) different local boards that I don't visit and I don't understand the languages of this local boards.
I have searched on topics that relates to this but I'm not convinced with the replies I saw in one of the threads that relates to this so I decided to make this here.
Hence, I will love to know the rules that are related to this. Can one use a translator to grasp what is being discussed in a thread where you where quoted or mentioned? Perhaps I know using translators to comment on other local boards is frowned upon or is prohibited but does it also prohibited to use translators to know the reason why one is mentioned in other local boards?
Your sincere response will be appreciated. Thanks!
Note: This thread will be locked as soon as I have received enough response as desired.

Hello, our Nigerian (Naija) local board! Recently, I have been so concerned about this local board and the activities here. There are two important things that I (we) have noticed here on the local board and wish to make known to everyone in order to call our attention and hence reduce or probably put an end to such acts. 1. In the cost of posting or actively participating in the forum (local board), people (especially newbies and beginners) have recently increased the shit posts here, bringing in posts that belong to social media or issues that aren't related to the sole purpose of the forum or local board to discuss here. I wouldn't quote anybody or mention anyone here because I don't want it to be construed from a different perspective or seen as personal attacks. It's good to participate in discussions in the forum, but that doesn't mean one should just publish any sort of thing here. Be mindful of what you wish to publish; let it be at least impactful and relate to the sole purpose of the forum. 2. This is not so concerning, but at least it's needed. For everyone of us here who is delighted to write in pidgin, we should write them well. I noticed some misconceptions in our local language (pidgin). Most of us here, while communicating with pidgin, tend to write in our social media communication language (shortcut) spelling. Although it's not bad, where I became concerned was that while I was reading some translations with pidgins, I saw those shortcuts written in there. For example: Mk Una 4 uses this example. So I thought of how to improve our pidgin writing, and there I discovered it's even harder to find pidgin translator apps, so it's mostly done manually. Well, for us to write our Nigerian pidgin very well, I suggest we (especially Naija local board translators) should go to the Jahoval Witness website (JW.ORG) and read most of their translations to become well acquainted with our Naija pidgin. Note: I'm also part of the number 2. So we all should just keep trying our best to write in the proper way. Contributions are open to everyone! Thanks

I was reading some threads talking about malware attacks and clipboard virus so I thought of using something new to protect Bitcoin address, though I'm still anticipating a cold wallet to use this method on but I thought of sharing it. I don't know if this belongs here or beginners and help. Here is how I thought of using QR codes for bitcoin address protection. - There are lots of QR code generators on the internet but you should look for the most reliable provider to use. For instance, I used this website https://www.qr-code-generator.com/
- After getting a reliable provider you can copy your bitcoin wallet address and paste in the text reserved area.
- Hence it generates a QR code that you can download as an image.
So as when your bitcoin address is requested you can just send the image for scan to prevent your Bitcoin address from being tempered with. I also thought of how easy it would be for businesses that uses Bitcoin as payment method. It could be printed out and pasted on points where it can be scanned easily. Although there could be some negative effect of this action but at least it's a good ideal from my perspective. Note: I don't know if this topic has been raised before as I couldn't find one if so I apologize in advance.

I've observed a little mistakes that newbies like me usually make during conversations here in the forum. I have made this mistake here before, I suppose it was my first thread I created in this forum where I was arguing about some rubbish I thought I knew about.
Newbies/beginners and senior colleagues too do make this mistake of arguing with people in conversations that are not worth arguing about. Instead of responding to some quote where you were corrected you can just learn and remain silent than make some blind arguments that can lead to more wilder conversation that will either be out of point from the actual discussion. Most times I see people creating enemies for themselves because they want to prove a point that they know some bull shit.
I will advise my fellow beginners to respect some correction and not make arguments just to prove yourself knowledged. instead of arguing you can just learn without quoting them back and blabbing rubbish. even till now some senior colleagues are still arguing with themselves because they feel they have the knowledge which someone is try to inculcate in them.
Don't make a fool of yourself trying to prove a point for some nonsense reputation that nobody gives a fuck about.
Just a friendly advise..

Disclaimer: This not an argument thread but all opinions counts
I noticed some people are no longer active, some are active once in while though they hold positions in the forum which they are supposed to be puting things in order. I'm concerned about the wellness of the forum, so I see new generation of people ranking up but are more concerned on what they benefit from the forum rather than what they claim to be interested in helping in the forum. Although in some point of view they might be helping but just in a minor way that may seem to be common.
Since there are few of us that are willing to render help we (Me in particular) want to know if there are areas which you believe is lacking attention that people like the new hard working members can actually take care of because this forum have lasted for a decade and more I believe some areas might be slacking gradually but seems to be fine.
This thread may not be necessary to some people but one unnecessary question can trigger a good rethink and lot of opinion on how the forum can take a new shape.
what do you all think about finding areas that are not really doing good and act on it. also give opinion on how you think new members can rather help in the forum.

I stumbled found this topic, which I believe may be beneficial to other people, including my fellow newbies. Additionally, I think it need to be tagged for novices to read for a better comprehension of the content. I also want to express my gratitude to everyone who contributed to the creation of that powerful thread, especially @Yogi. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=126798.0
