Bitcoin no longer sponsoring St. Petersburg bowl game

Quote
The Bitcoin Bowl is no more.

Sorry to just drop that bomb on you like that, but I've always been a firm believer that the best way to remove a bandage is to just rip that sucker right off. Yes, it's going to hurt, but the pain will be over sooner, and then the healing can truly begin.

Anyway, now that you've stopped crying, ESPN.com's Brett McMurphy reported on Wednesday night that Bitcoin was dropping out of its sponsorship deal with the bowl in St. Petersburg, Florida after only one year.

But what a year it was.

We'll always have our memories of the Bitcoin Bowl, which will live on from generation to generation. There will be songs written about the two touchdowns North Carolina State running back Matt Dayes scored in the third quarter to put the game out of reach, and children will be named after running back Shadrach Thornton, who defied the limits of the running back moniker and threw an 18-yard touchdown pass in the game.

And maybe one day a movie will be made about UCF's valuable comeback effort that fell just short in the 34-27 loss. I mean, if they could make two movies about the Spartans at Thermopylae, they can make one about the UCF Knights at Tropicana Field.

You were gone too soon, Bitcoin Bowl, but you shall never be forgotten.
464  Economy / Scam Accusations / stakeminers.com is a Ponzi scheme run by Leroy Fodor, a proven liar. on: April 02, 2015, 06:09:19 PM
This thread depicts Fodor's Ponzi scheme, whereas the following thread proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that he's a 100% fuckin' liar: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=990219.0

thank you for replying. i guess that makes sence that you need a invester to pay for hosting becasuse of the cost. is it a few hundred euros a month ? or more ?

if i invest a thousand euros, what is your best guest of what i could make in a mouth with your program ? would i make more in a years time ?

thank you an d look forward to answer.

Hosting costs for any project are dependant on the needs of the site you will build. In our whole business however we have a couple sites we run as a group, it is not just stakeminers.com.  Also, we have put funds in an account specifically for Stakeminers on the site to allow the pool to have its own earning potential which is how we can do payouts with no fees, and it will help to pay for the hosting services in the future as well.

We do not base nor calculate on fiat values, all your earnings are BTC based so with that being said if you would invest 4.45 BTC (roughly 1000 Euros), the minimum you could make in 6 months would be 3.24 BTC profit, so at the end of 6 months you could have 7.69 BTC in your account (this is based only on 1 wallet, we are staking on 3) the reason I base estimations on only one wallet is 2 reasons, the wallet I use has its own estimation calculator so its just not random guestimations by myself, its an educated estimation based on calculation a wallet does, and I also do use only 1 wallet because I know on the back end you are collecting on 2 additional wallets so I do estimations with 1 wallet in hopes to give members an estimated earning that will be much lower than what they will actually earn. So I do it in hopes if I tell you you will make 3 BTC in 6 months you may end up with much more.

Leaving your investment in there as long as possible is the absolute best way this system works, After 6 months I recommend Big BTC investors make a withdraw of earnings, and continue to allow your original investment to work for you. When you request a withdraw make sure to tell me you want to withdraw your earnings only, I will of course clarify this with you before I process the withdraw.

469  Other / Off-topic / Just won a 1316 seat tournament on BetOnLine. on: March 30, 2015, 08:28:27 AM

I tried to get a screenshot of the last hand, but I hasn't fast enough to capture it.

This is only the third tournament I've played since just prior to Black Friday when Bush was president. BitOnLine accepts bitcoins, and that's what I'll use to cash out once I pump it up on live games and perhaps more freeroll tournaments.

My assessment of the site thus far is that it runs pretty smoothly. I'll assume it's on the up-and-up, but will have to do some research in that regard. I've seen some crazy turn and river cards, but that doesn't freak me out as it does other players. In fact, the more they cry, the more they're telling me what type of player they really are.

Notice, the signage does depict "Get Left with God".

Gulp! Looks like I put a lot of thought into the creation of this thread. And yet, like God, I, too, am now a creator.

Praise Gleb!

PS: I blame Vod for this thread's heresy.

Name a Bitcoiner that claims to be one of the top 100 Bitcoiners in all the world that doesn't know who Satoshi Nakamoto is and when once asked what he purchased with Dogecoin replied with a cupcake for 175 dogecoins when Doge was trading at ...wait for it... .0000005/BTC. Even at Bitcoin's peak, which it wasn't at the time of the quote, that would equate to only $.09, way too little to purchase even the most stalest cupcake in all of New York City (a clue as to whom I speaketh of).

An associate of his for the past several years espouses his concerns on Reddit à la look "Look what I just discover! This guy's great. Much WoW!" (the latter borrowed from Doge-speak, with Doge not being relative to this discussion)

He claims to have been involved in Bitcoin since its inception, yet the earliest I'm able to find on the internet pertaining to his involvement is circa October, 2013.

He claims to have been the CEO of a major hotel-esque site on the net, but sold it for ~$35K USD because he needed the money during a timeframe when he was espousing how he's flush with cash. In reality, he ONLY owned the domain name (among others) for several years and that's what was sold, NOT some site having mega traffic, for the site was never built till after it was purchased by a named hotel-based online entity.

The dude once spoke on stage during a Bitcoin related event for 18 minutes, 14 minutes of which he relayed the story of his dad and a bicycle, returning to his notes 4 times during the presentation as a crutch to relay the supposedly true event about what he ...wait for it... will never forget what his dad taught him.

The dude is championed as a gifted speaker and a major asset to the Bitcoin community.
475  Other / Off-topic / Finally, a way to make Satoshi Nakamoto reveal himself. on: March 22, 2015, 08:58:41 PM
Humiliate him, thus he'll come to this thread and tell us to quit.

I'll go first.

Satoshi has the smallest dick of all male (and some females) Bitcoiners.

Now, add your own, albeit I believe he'll be any second now due to the above.

477  Economy / Service Discussion / Don't trust Leroy Fodor's DiceFortune.com site! on: March 17, 2015, 09:02:03 PM

Reason: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=990219.msg10805016#msg10805016

I promise that the entire thread is a great read depicting Leroy "Honest Abe" Fodor as a fuckin' liar. He even goes as far as declaring that anything he's misled in the past IS NOT indicative of whether or not he will scam anybody in the future. Also, the person he claims to be his financier is ONLY a person that once liked his Facebook page last year sans any further communication between the two. Leroy didn't even give his best friend there in the Philippines $10 for his crowdfunding campaign in spite of having lots of money of which his friend that he helped get started in Bitcoin can attest to. Most of Leroy's friends there in Asia have crowdfunding campaigns running to garner hundreds of dollars under the guise of needing some mundane ware to further their current ventures.

Leroy Fodor came to the thread linked above and posted a myriad times trying to dispute all my claims. Then, he deleted over two dozen posts that were specifically penned to discredit me whereas he should've kept them up. Luckily, I quoted them all, then penned a post that now has all the posts he deleted disputing my claims in case he was too fucked up on drugs when he thought it'll be a keen idea to perform such stupid act, thus giving the dude the benefit of the doubt since I'm a nice guy and all.

Again, Leroy Fodor shouldn't be trusted one iota with his dicefortune.com or stakeminers.com sites. He's also part of NetCoin.
478  Other / Off-topic / When the New Madrid fault rocks our world, Chicago's fucked! on: March 17, 2015, 08:03:05 PM
Reason? Each time a train is within a mile of my home, my chair shakes due to the vibration of the house. A few seconds later, the train horn blows as it approaches the crossing that's a half a mile away from here. This is true of either direction the train in coming from, and from the slight shaking I'm able to ascertain with a high degree of accuracy which direction the train's coming from, the error rate mostly caused by what position I'm setting in on the chair.

Further proof that the soil beneath us in this part of Illinois is extremely soft susceptible to myriad wave motion caused by an earthquake hundreds of miles away. That said, to protect my family from certain doom, I'm moving them all to the southeast corner of Idaho where its rocky, for I don't want to be killed by a natural disaster like an earthquake, et al.
479  Other / Off-topic / The best description of Bitcoin to date! on: March 17, 2015, 06:05:36 AM
right now one whole bitcoin is worth 655 dollars each. I am part of it there is no catch. The founders of all cryptocirrency set up faucets like these to help secure that digital currency. you will see places that say "Bitcoin Strength in numbers" this is because the security in the ccoins future depends on bitcoin transaction, so programs and faucets like this were made to help secure the future. donations are made by founders and other sources to these faucets to purposely make transactions . To be honest by doing this you are only helping secure the future of bitcoin and making money while doing it

Google it to learn its source. Hint: The guy who penned it has a foul-proof system that'll earn you 580% ROI or 25% daily return depending on which program you're most comfortable with. I'll safely assume that most his customer base is opting for the 580% option because it's a bigger number than the ONLY 25% daily deal. Which would you opt for? And why? And why haven't we all joined yet? Run... Don't walk! This deal's fun.

One more thing. This dude is highly pissed at me for doubting his claims and bringing his honesty into question, and that I'm a loser and serve no purpose to Bitcoin, I being the main reason why Bitcoin is in such a sorry state. If true, then I humbly apologize for my actions, although I believe we're dealing with an idiot who believes that aliens are among us because he has proof of one living in his backyard. Seriously, he does!

BTW, to make it simpler for you see whom I'm speaking of sans Googling, just check my recent post history. I'm sure you'll have no problem figuring out who the fuck I'm talkin' 'bout.
