1  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / A very good speech concerning Cryptocurrency. on: May 06, 2024, 01:40:41 PM

I came across a vídeo on the media, involving the former deputy Governor of Ekiti State (Biodun Olujimi) who's currently the Sen representing Ekiti South. the vídeos i saw is a plenary meeting of the senate concerning the regulation of Cryptocurrency but what got me very interested was a speech  made by Sen Biodun.

"Mr president there's really not too much to say about this. We didn't creat Cryptocurrency, and so we cannot kill it, and we cannot also refuse to ensure that it works for us. Definitely they are not like us, me i am used to tangible medium of exchange, i carry my cash in my pocket like bait, but the world has gone so far Mr president, and this children are doing great business with it, they're working everyday on their laptops, on their phones and they're getting results and Nigeria cannot immune itself from this sort of business and, what we can do is ensure the space is regulated in such a way that bad people cannot use it. What we didn't create, we cannot fully regulate but we can manage it and i believe that is why this motion is really important, the time has come for us to be able to harmonize all the issues concerning Cryptocurrency and have a proper way forward on how to manage it and manage our youths".

I was really amazed by this speech and I'm happy that despite the bad government, there are still sensible people among them, that would always kick against their wrong act towards frustrating the youths. What impressed me about her is that she acknowledged the fact the youths are really working hard and getting results out of Cryptocurrency and the Nigerian Local Board and the progress of Nigerians here is a proove about that, not some of our politicians who thinks we're lazy. Like she said, banning exchanges or banning Cryptocurrency entirely is not a good way to go about it, but ensuring that it is regulated in such a way that bad people can't use it is a very good idea. The government should think about how many businesses they’ll collapse if they ban Cryptocurrency entirely cause it could further increase the rate of crime thereby forcing more youths who's business are crumbled to go into criminal activities for survival.

Here's a link to the video incase you're interested in watching it.

2  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Parents should guide/counsel their kids, teach them good morals. on: May 05, 2024, 10:39:31 AM
Two adults were having a discussion which included something kids shouldn't know about as the conversation was ongoing then the child of one of them tried to pokenose by giving advice to the friend of her mother on how to seduce a man she was lusting after. At some point the mother was so ashamed and rebuke her then asked who taught her what she was saying, the child replied, blame it on technology and the Internet. Now do you think the child is right?

I don't know about you but my answer to that question is no, I'm aware that there are several adult content on the Internet currently that could ruin kids and the technology she meant was gadgets like phone and laptop but then those stuffs were not designed to ruin mankind but to help us improve and as a parent you're in the right position to guild your children, teach them good morals and help them not to get misled by the Internet when parents are too busy to check up on their kids regularly or monitor their day to day activities with those gadgets then those kids are at the risks of going astray.

On thing about them is that they learn very fast and if their parents are not there to give them proper guidance then those kids could go astray instead of using the Internet and technology for learning they'll rather be misled by it, that's why parents should learn to set up parental control concerning adult content on the devices at home so kids won't misuse it. If you don't teach your kids good morals  and let them know the consequences of doing bad then other spoilt kids would mislead them.
3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Do not get discouraged by the current price of Bitcoin on: May 01, 2024, 03:59:05 PM
I overheard a discussion between two friends and one was telling the other that Bitcoin is a scam and that a lot of people preached about the halving and how people could cashout from it. The other friend was trying to convince him to continue holding his asset but he refused and replied that nothing would stop him from selling the coins he's holding.

When I heard that man mentioned cashing out from the halving, I understood that he might know about Bitcoin but he's not properly enlightened concerning it. A lot of expectations were cut short after the halving event cause most people expected Bitcoin to set a new height of $80k but then it didn't even get close to the previous all time high and have reduced below $60k currently.

I think people shouldn't get discourage by that, though I didn't experience other halvings cause I had zero knowledge about Bitcoin then but i think something similar have occurred before in one of the previous halving where Bitcoin price didn't go up as expected but later traced back and went up after some period, a lot of people might begin to panic and sell their coins but I still see this an opportunity to buy more Bitcoin and for those who are not opportuned to do so, holding is the best option, please correct me if you think am wrong
4  Other / Beginners & Help / When you make mistakes, do not fail to take corrections. on: April 10, 2024, 11:04:58 PM
Make mistakes and also take corrections. This is one of the things i learnt in this forum as Newbie and it's helped me through my journey this far so I decided to create this thread to help encourage other new members. It's in our human nature to make errors, that's to say that they’re inevitable and bound to happen but the most important thing is to take corrections, learn from the mistakes, to avoid making more errors.

There are some errors that people make out of ignorance, for instance wrong quoting or posting on the wrong board, do not panic when you make such errors, normally as a Newbie you're here to learn and impact knowledge when you can therefore you should see those errors as a learning process. Also, there are members that would take it upon themselves to bring such errors to your notice and probably give you the necessary corrections, now that's where taking corrections comes in, do not panic it might lead you to make more errors while you're in a rush to correct yourself, take your time, take note of your mistakes so as not to make more similar ones in future and correct them carefully.

Sometimes you might feel you're making the right points, giving your opinions about some threads but do not feel threatened when someone quote you wrong, try to prove yourself right if you're sure of your points or take corrections if you discover they're right. Note that no one knows it all and there are lots of people on here that might be far more inteligent than you, so sometimes instead of arguing it's best to take corrections and learn.
5  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Why is Bitcoin the best asset for investment currently? on: April 09, 2024, 12:00:46 PM
Lots of people especially those with little knowledge about Bitcoin and it's mode of operations, would be wondering why Bitcoin is the most talked about crypto asset to invest on currently but this image below would help enlighten them with a clue to what they need to understand.

Further more in summary of what the image above portrays, based on the bitcoin halving Bitcoin becomes more scarce and it's value surges very high, therefore since we're in the season of the bitcoin halving investing in it currently seems like the best decision anyone could take currently, if you noticed many industrials and financial institutions are acquiring more Bitcoin currently instead of selling so it's in the best interest of individuals to take advantage of this information and invest on Bitcoin while it's not yet very late.

As you can see, unlike other Assets, Bitcoin is a decentralised asset and can't be created more, but increases in value when it's price is halved. But note that Bitcoin as an asset is very volatile in nature, therefore you shouldn't invest all your savings but a spare money you could lose without getting very emotional. However everyone needs to take advantage of this years halving and take profits to prepare for the next very early.
6  Economy / Economics / Debt Management. on: March 30, 2024, 12:01:10 AM
Borrowing or taking loans is not bad but being a debtor is where the problem lies. What I'm trying to say is that, it's normal to be in need and borrow when you lack, but owing for too long or not being able to clear your debts at the appropriate time, is the problem and can be very embarrassing. Now that's where Debt management comes in, Debt management to my understanding is a process where by one plans strategic means of attending to their debts thereby avoiding numerous debts and be debt free.

 Dept Management is something every human is supposed to be aware of so as to help tackle the problems of being a debtor. Left for me, one who is in debt is like a slave and is bound to face being embarrassed if not they don't apply debt management. That's why before one should take loans, there are many things that's need to be considered. However here are the necessary steps people should take to become debt free;
Learn to cut cost: one needs to avoid too much spendings, normalize spendings only on necessary things, either for food bills, craving or wants, your expenses should be focused on your needs and not wants.

Make Budgets: making a bucket list of budgets would aid you to monitor your income and also help you to make right decisions on important expenses.

Avoid spending beyond your budget: this is also another way of debt management because when you spend only what you can afford, it would help you from being a debtor cause you'll be more focused on things you need.

Do not borrow funds to clear debts: doing that automatically makes you acquire more debts and it keeps accumulating because you won't seize to acquire outstanding debts, it would continue to go in cycles until you work hard to earn and become totally free.

Clear debts on time : no one is above being in debt, however one shouldn't settle with being known for a debtor, it brings embarrassment and could cause emotional trauma, therefore one needs to keep tracks of their dept and work on paying them off, beginning high interest debts down to minor ones, needs to be strategic with clearing their debts.

Right choice of investments: investmenting on the right business is just like saving for the future, cause you'll always have a financial support to fall back to, and also avoid taking loans, therefore the right choice of business would guarantee you have a safe heaven rely on instead of taking loans.

Make wise spendings: Consider your financial strength before purchasing items, purchase only items that are of needs not the ones that don't match your financial strength.

Another way of debt management I could think of is to learn to make proper financial decisions, one should educate themselves financially about  investments and how to plan financially to be debt free.

Here are some debt management charts to help you understand further.

                                    In Conclusion
The concept of debt management isn’t talked about often, this is why most people dwell so deeply in debt and they can’t afford to pay it off. In worst cases where the debtor can’t pay back, they tend to take their life, giving up so easily just in the name of frustration. Sometimes taking debt can be a way out for one, that's if you have an innovative mind and know how to utilize the resources given to you. Some people just don’t know how to manage funds, borrowing money to clear debt or to fund your lifestyle isn’t just the best idea infact, it’s just the beginning of your borrowing cycle. If you don’t have any reasonable plan then there isn’t any need to go for a loan.
7  Other / Beginners & Help / I need honest advise concerning this. on: March 07, 2024, 07:31:56 AM
I've been advised that as a newbie i shouldn't rush but to learn from old forum members and grow. But then, I've seen that for one to grow over here you need to get merited and on a regular basis, well i believe at this point i should've been able to acquire some merits, despite the fact that I'm still a Newbie but then i don't see the Merits coming, even after some post i felt could fetch the Merits. It makes me wonder if my posts are not Merit worthy or Quality enough.

Though it almost got me díscouraged, however instead of being discouraged, I'm open to learning ways or how to get the Merits and grow on here, my questions are what I'm i doing wrongly? How can i improve it and also where is the best board to write on if i need these Merits coming?

8  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Is the newly minted USDT, a driving force to surge of BTC ? on: March 04, 2024, 01:33:26 PM
The month of march has been a bearish period for Bitcoin since it's history and a lot of whales predicted it's price to go below 60k and probably rise again after March in the anticipated halving towards April.  However we saw a different case this year and instead of BTC going down it has attained a high of 65k today which is close to the price of the All Time High in the last Halving by Nov 2021 which was about 69k if I'm not mistaken.

Also, Tether recently released about a billion dollar USDT and afterwards we saw the price of BTC surge above its previous price of 62k to 63 and currently 65k plus. This has made lots of crypto enthusiasts wonder if the billion dollar release by Tether is the driving force behind the resurgence of Bitcoin, what do you think about this?

Well in own my speculation I think Bitcoin could attain a height above the previous ATH of 69k to 70 or 75k and above, before April. Also, if the previous ATH was about 69k there's a possibility that it could double that figure, maybe close to 150k. What's your say on this.
9  Other / Politics & Society / Look presentable so opportunities would come your way. on: March 03, 2024, 01:25:17 PM
You know they had always been this popular saying that “the way you dress will be the way you’re addressed” of course they are different dress code for different occasions. As a young and vibrant young person, you ought to dress smart and smell nice that’s your one way ticket of gaining recognition in any meeting. The way you dress and how nice you smell will grant you audience to any meeting or hearing.

As a young man you don’t have to be  caught unfresh, that will drop your swag, and this may lead to low self esteem and even lack of confidence.  Opportunities may even come your way simply because of how you dress and how well you’re able to rep yourself, this is the simplest task but most important part facing the real world. It really pays when you invest in yourself.

You don't expect to go for a job interview or contract offer looking messy or in disorder and you expect the employer to grant you a job opportunity, also asides looking presentable in physical, one ought to be very organized for instance over here in the forum, if you present your posts well by creating quality and quantity posts, meaningful posts that are attractive it could fetch you opportunities, what are the opportunities, Merits that could help you rank up.
10  Economy / Gambling discussion / The shocking rate of women interested in gambling. on: February 24, 2024, 08:14:59 PM
After a thorough research, I've come to understand that the history of gambling could be traced far back to the ancient Chinese and was mostly practiced by men cause by then it didn't seem right for women to be involved in such act, Well it wasn't illegal for women but there where more men participating in casinos than women, but change they say is constant and as time passed, women gradually began to participate in the act and I think in the 19th if I'm not mistaken more women began to participate in it and by then a woman called Alice Iver Tubbs, also known as (Poker Alice) became a professional in gambling, history have it that she was very good with poker which led to the name Poker Alice.

However in recent times we're beginning to see more gamblers who are woman emerge and though they're not yet equal to the amount of male gambler, a good amount of women globally have began to pick interest in it, since it's now being socialized, to back that up, I know some of my friends that participate in gambling and even play slot games as well as staking of the UEFA Champions League games, I know a friend who also love to stake on Al-Nassr cause her favourite football celebrity Ronaldo plays for the team. lol I won't also deny that she's gradually luring me into sports betting as well.

Also the rate at which women are now picking interes in gambling is so alarming, there are a good number of female punters on the media with good fanbase and they give good betting advice, we all know that gambling does guarantee 100% success but if you follow their predictions you could get atleast 60 to 70% chances of winning the bet. That's to tell you how well women are now involving in gambling and as time passes there's a tendency for more women to indulge in it as well, since the social media have made gambling more popular and the fact that it involves sporting activities makes that more possible.
11  Other / Off-topic / Easier said than done. on: February 23, 2024, 02:12:49 PM
A lot things in life could be easier said than done, like securing a good job in an uncivilised environment, quit smoking, living the life of a super star, sometimes helping the poor as well. But those are not the area of concentrateion of concerning this post. Anyways, I've heard people saying "one day I'll be as rich and famous like Mark Zuckerberg" but then they don't work towards achieving that. The big question is, how do you want to be rich and famous when you don't work towards achieving that statement or have good skills to back it up.

Also there are people who are smart and intelligent, but lack the opportunity to achieve their dreams. However all they need is a push to get to the peak. Currently social media has made it possible for smart, talented and intelligent people with little opportunity to show the world what they're made of and get help from someone out there who's interested in their talents or good skills, but then procrastination won't let them achieve that.

Sometimes we humans are the cause of our own problems, there's no limit to what we can achieve, if only we can set our mind straight and work hard on achieving our goals and beyond, other than procrastinating. It's easier to say whatever you want to become or achieve in life but then if you don't work hard enough to make your dreams come through then it would be easier said than done.
12  Economy / Economics / If being a graduate is the key to being wealthy, why are there poor graduates? on: February 22, 2024, 10:06:03 PM
First off, I must say that Education is very good and i don't dispute the fact that it's very vital and necessary for human development, it can put you in a position to be successful no doubt but being a graduate is not a 100% guarantee for one to be very wealthy, one can be very sound academically but lack some basic skills of acquiring wealth. Also one can still have some good knowledge of certain skills but if there's no zeal or self confidence in earning a living through it then your education on those skills can be said to be a waste since you ain't making effort to earn from it.

Also I've heard several people complain about having good grades, being 1st class graduates but find it difficult to secure good paying jobs, imagine someone struggling to achieve good grades in the university but find it difficult to earn a living and at the end settle for minor jobs while there are many dropouts with good skillsets as well as being creative and think outside the box, and are bosses of big organisations and companies.

Well it's not basically about being educated or graduating with the best grades that makes you wealthy, it's about determination, being consistent and also persistent cause success and wealth are not achieved in one day or immediately after graduating. In as much as you have good grades, you must still improve your skills, not only job skills, marketing or management skills but your critical thinking and problem solving skills.
13  Other / Beginners & Help / What significant impact is expected of new members of the forum? on: February 18, 2024, 08:41:34 AM
Hello everyone, I'm only newly invited to the forum, and I must say that I've enjoyed every bit of the time I've spent here, especially on the beginners and help board because I was advised that as a beginner that's where I'll learn about things concerning the forum.

To be honest I'm amazed at the traffic and I've noticed that I could learn a lot from the forum. Also, I'm open to learning and pass knowledge in anyway I can, but I want to know how I can impact the forum, what core values does the bitcoin talk community needs? Or is impacting knowledge here only specific to a certain caliber of people or higher ranking members?

Like I said earlier I'm open to learning and I'll need answers from anyone so far you're telling me the right thing, I'll read everyone's reply and take note of everything you say cause I believe it would help me grow.
