1  Other / Meta / SebastianJu getting seduced by trust farmers - and he's loving it! on: August 03, 2015, 06:56:48 PM
feryjhie got sold in an auction today. No biggie, account changes hands like cards in a deck in the org named Bitcointalk. The seller, a new account rolled to just sell the account even got a default trust from SebastianJu who was escrow. Apparently the escrow somehow risked 0.255BTC and was so grateful to the Newbie for having the priviledge of being the escrow that he couldn't wait to give a default rating.

No biggie again, the Legendary Escrow Service is the middleman of choice for all sorts of traders angling to get that coveted feedback as a quick glance through the sent feedback reveals. What was concerning in this particular case was that the sold account itself received a rating. This seems to be a new policy for the popular escrow, who has seen a sudden rise in business coinciding with him doling out default feedback.

What do you do if you want to buy an account here? Make a new account, use SebastianJu to escrow the trade and ask him to provide the feedback to the new account and voila! you are the proud owner of an account which is going to turn green in 5 months.

But then, escrow fortunes rise and fall with the everchanging landscape of default trust. devthedev was the most popular at some point but was discarded like a stale bread when escrow.ms wielded his axe. bitpop had a few days in the sun but that was cut short quickly. Now master-P, who has worked so hard to buld up his rating is the only viable rival, but his insistence in being a miser in the sent feedback means he is left eating SebastianJu's dust.
2  Economy / Scam Accusations / Marco the Über Miner on: January 09, 2015, 06:23:46 PM
Mining is such a fool's errand. We have been spinning up our Spondoolies and hashing away at Hashie, all the while hoping that difficulty and price moves opposite ways. Not for all of us; our Hero member, lender, trader, manager, escrower, advertiser marcotheminer has a different take on mining. Instead of wasting money on hardware, Marco utilises the array of opportunities provided by bitcointalk to stay in the black.

You have heard of BiPolarBob, rich, eccentric, kind hearted, Bob. Bob had a Starbucks giveaway which a lot of us missed, including Marco.
Bob had another incredible 0.02 BTC giveaway and while I again missed this one, Marco was right on the spot. Marco loved the giveaway so much he couldn't help coming back for more and he collected a minimum of 10 times!

Did Bob know about this? Why would we think he did? Right after the generous giveaway, Bob requested a loan from Marco, but unfortunately couldn't get an escrow for the box of mandarin oranges.

Loan amount required: 0.5 BTC
Term length: 24 hours (1 Day GMT +0)
Interest: 0.65 BTC return.
Address:

Collateral: box of Mandarin oranges
3  Other / Meta / Whatever Happened to Pierre11? on: December 04, 2014, 11:27:54 PM
You may remember my earlier thread regarding Candystripes and how he was spamming through Pierre11 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=835217.0

That thread took a sharp turn and led to a scam accusation thread (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=840008.0), negative trust by BadBear which led to a meltdown by Candy and finally a Public apology thread when he realised he was caught (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=881436.0)

Thats all fine, but whatever happened to Pierre11? If you had perused that thread you would have seen that Pierre111, claiming to be Pierre11 asking for the thread back, Candy agreeing, and Pierre11 confirming that he has got it back.

I have asked Candystripes to delete all the spam, 70 posts he says he did, so i have the account like before.. i will return my loan when he does this..

I have asked Candystripes to delete all the spam, 70 posts he says he did, so i have the account like before.. i will return my loan when he does this..

All posts, PMs, signatures have been deleted. Account is back to normal.

Giving the account now to him, he paid up.

I am confirming this.

After that somebody else claiming to be the real Pierre11 showed up, and Candy, after his typical dismissive attitude, relented and posted this

Alright this makes it more interesting. Pierre11 sent me this in a PM this morning:

"Wait aminute, I thought you were selling me this account cause it had defaulted (which it did), to get back ur loan. I said I was pierre11 for simplicity and to avoid being tagged - I would repay on his behalf. i thought the actual pierre had already lost his acc as it was used for collateral and didn t repay after many days. I can still return the account thou Huh
i wouldn't post anything publicly yet until we agree what is happening now. or things might get worse for us.
what can happen: i return the account and you return the .095bc i paid, then you do whatever/ or i keep the account and you say you sold it cause he defaulted, you re allowed to do that to get back the loan."

Turns out the guy faked being Pierre and paid back the loan to get the account. That isn't my fault at all, I thought he was the real Pierre.

Candy is claiming the buyer lied and tried to fake a Pierre. Now, Candy is a well known liar, and may well have manufactured the quote, but also maybe he genuinely thought he was restoring back the account - who knows? If we can get hold of the buyer maybe we can resolve this.
4  Other / Meta / Spammathon: Brought to you by Candystripes on: October 26, 2014, 10:10:46 AM
Users of this forum who have been active yesterday evening may have seen a name pop up as the last poster in many threads and boards - Pierre11 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=177007

I found it when it had made 29 posts in less than an hour, mostly junk as expected. As I watched it unfold the incredible run ended at 64 posts in a little over 3 hours. Why did Pierre11 suddenly get the post bug?

Turns out Pierre11 was kept as collateral with Candystripes (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=828280.0) 3 days past default he decided to act and went ahead to boost the activity past Sr. member. His calculation seems to have been wrong as it 'only' went to 238, so he stopped posting at 242. Poor Candystripes now have to wait for the next activity upgrade to sell a Sr. Member account.
