1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / [H] 5.158 GBYTE (Obyte) [W] BTC on: March 07, 2021, 04:14:22 AM
I have 5.158 GBYTE (Obyte) that I'd like to exchange for BTC, worth roughly $180 USD from current exchange rates. Based off of what's displayed on CoinMarketCap, it's not tradable on any major exchanges I'm familiar with so I can't exchange it myself.

I also have 25.6 GBB (BlackBytes) which my wallet says is worth $60. I have no idea if there's somewhere I can sell this, but it's also something I'd like to exchange for BTC.

Let me know if you're willing to help! I'll happily pay a share of the proceeds for your time  Smiley

2  Economy / Currency exchange / [H] BTC [W] $150 CAD PayPal @ 1:1 Preev on: December 03, 2020, 06:22:04 PM
I have BTC, looking to get it exchanged to $150 CAD at 1:1 Preev rates. Any PayPal fees are covered by you.

Reply here or PM me if you're interested.
3  Economy / Exchanges / BitMEX Alternatives? on: November 15, 2020, 04:05:14 AM
BitMEX is now requiring KYC in order to trade. I don't really want to KYC if I don't have to, so now I'm looking for an alternative derivatives exchange that doesn't require KYC. The only thing I really need is to be able to long BTC with BTC, similar to BitMEX's XBTUSD contract.

I haven't really been following exchanges recently, so the only one I'm familiar with is Binance. Their derivatives offerings look pretty decent, but each contract in the BTCUSD
Perpetual market is worth 100 USD. I'd like to be able to trade (preferably) in 1 USD increments.

I've done a bit of searching and found Deribit (which seems to be requiring KYC now?) and Bybit, which looks really similar to Binance. I'm not too sure how reputable those two are, but they seem fairly decent. Does anyone have recommendations for a good BitMEX alternative?
4  Economy / Gambling discussion / Minimizing variance on dice over X number of bets on: September 01, 2020, 05:21:45 AM
For various reasons (wagering contests, VIP levels, wagering requirements, bet mining, etc), a player might wish to wager a certain amount with the goal of getting as close to EV as possible. You would often have time (and in effect, bet count) limits, meaning that you can't just decrease your bet size to stretch the wagering over as many bets as possible.

What would be the best way to minimize variance in terms of dice settings, over a certain number of bets? Does the multiplier vary significantly based on the number of bets? If we ignore extremes (obviously 9900x would be a poor choice to reduce variance), is there a significant difference between multipliers? (example: 1.5x vs 1.6x)

Anyone know if there's a good way to calculate this? If I wanted to get the optimal multiplier and bet sizing to wager 10 BTC (with an aim of losing 0.1 BTC assuming 1% house edge) in 5000 dice rolls, how would I do that/what would it be?

6  Economy / Reputation / Malubit Shills and kotwica666 shilling service on: March 19, 2020, 12:18:12 AM
kotwica666, the signature campaign manager for Malubit, appears to be utilizing a large number of shill accounts to defend the site they are promoting from various scam allegations.

A few accounts have popped up very often in their thread to act in their defense:

dodgrad: Posting gap between Feb 6 and Feb 26. Goes from being an Altcoin Speculation spammer to gaining a sudden interest in Malubit, proceeding to make 40+ posts in Malubit's thread (out of 45). Confirmed alt of kotwica666 by Avirunes
YinShuiSiYuan: Posting gap between Feb 5 and Feb 26. Goes from posting in the Altcoin section and Freebitcoin's thread to posting 26/30 posts in Malubit's thread since the gap.
keyscore44: Posting gap between Feb 27 and Mar 5. Proceeds to post 26 times in Malubit's thread after returning, with only a single signature campaign application post in between.
altcointalk14: Posting gap between Feb 23 and Mar 12, makes 9/9 posts in Malubit's thread
cazkooo: Inactive since November 2018, comes back in Feb 2020, makes a few posts in other threads before starting to intensely defend Malubit
Naficopa: Posting gap between Feb 5 and Feb 20, comes back to start defending Malubit with the majority of their posts.

All of the accounts follow a similar pattern: posting gap, few unrelated posts, and then a rapid transition into purely defending Malubit.

They've had more obvious shills too:

andremalur: Makes a positive review on Feb 28th. When they return to defend Malubit, they conveniently happen to not have an account when arguing in favour of Malubit. Oops.

On SBR, a user happens to inquire about Malubit on Feb 7th, before becoming a site rep on Feb 20th  Roll Eyes

Signature campaign has also led to some positive posts (for example this one from YOSHIE) that happen to be merited from their shill accounts. I can vouch for elabor77 being a legitimate account who actually bets on sports (although not recreationally).

There's probably a few accounts that I'm missing.

9  Economy / Scam Accusations / feryjhie loan default on: October 16, 2019, 02:33:33 AM
feryjhie took a loan from me on May 30, 2019. After requesting extensions and promising to repay soon, I never got a repayment. The last time we talked was August 9th, though he did logon at a later date to attempt to claim his LOTEO bounty rewards (which was blocked with the help of sapta and roycilik).

I was scammed for 0.006BTC (and interest) from feryjhie defaulting the loan. The coins were sent via this transaction. I have left them a negative trust feedback and am creating this thread to create a flag. (Please support!)
10  Economy / Gambling / Nitrogen Voiding Valid Lines, Claiming Line Was "Obviously Bad" on: August 19, 2019, 01:34:45 AM
Nitrogen is voiding the O/U 2.5 line on the Daniel Cormier v Stipe Miocic UFC fight yesterday, claiming that the line was obviously bad, and that the O/U should have been set at 4.5. This is despite Pinnacle paying out on the same line (Nitrogen mirrors Pinnacle but adds an extra edge for themselves). They also seem to be muting people in chat who are complaining. The accurate line was definitely 2.5, as every other book ran with 2.5 and paid out. The 4.5 line that Nitrogen claims would have been accurate would have been paid at around 3.25/1.33 on any other book, and not the 2.16/1.68 offered by Nitrogen.

It seems to have affected quite a few people on /r/sportsbook, and Nitrogen refuses to fix despite many complaints in the public chat as well as support.

If Nitrogen ends up not fixing their error, I highly recommend not using them. Any book that chooses to void a line simply because they lost too much money on it (I'm assuming this is the case) should be avoided.
11  Economy / Reputation / kenzawak hacked (again) on: July 17, 2019, 01:21:39 AM
kenzawak asked me for a loan request:
Request For a No Collateral Loan

In the request, they signed the address 1G314GjY1UPDUyNDFydRgJrE4rE4GwcA3C which has zero hits on Google and no transactions. This was an immediate red flags; was kenzawak hacked again? They've claimed that they're only here to talk, and not to trade. They had a password reset a few hours earlier looking at seclog:
Quote
Today at 02:43:45 PM - kenzawak - password reset via email

I left a negative trust feedback as a result just in case. "kenzawak" saw the trust feedback and sent me this PM:

He links me to this thread with an address he posted in 2017 and says that he could sign from that address. However, from the last time he was hacked, we learned that the only address he could sign was an Ethereum address.
The post was conveniently edited this morning:

So, yup, kenzawak has been hacked for the second time in a month and a half. At least the hacker was rickrolled?

Update:
The hacker had really good planning for deception. They edited the Telegram handle posted by kenzawak and offered to talk on Telegram via kenzawak's "actual" handle (quote shows it was @moutezz originally) to show that he wasn't hacked.

pls merit my post thanks
12  Economy / Gambling / PSA: Betcoin.ag/PlayBetr.com/Coinbet.ag Data Breach on: July 15, 2019, 09:42:44 PM
It appears that the back end provider behind Betcoin.ag/PlayBetr.com/Coinbet.ag has suffered a data breach caused by a rouge employee. This breach happened in February of 2019, and the affected sites are currently investigating. It is currently believed that there were no cases of unauthorized access after February. Neither sites have delivered an official statement yet, but this thread will be updated once they do.

Disclaimer: This post contains information that I believe is true based on publicly posted information as well as private messages with Betcoin and cheatedplayer. I strive to ensure the accuracy, however I cannot guarantee the accuracy of this information.

What was breached?
It appears that the entire database of the provider was stolen. This includes:
  • Usernames
  • Emails
  • Encrypted Passwords
  • 2FA Info
  • Account Balances
  • Transactions
  • Support Tickets

Account balances are NOT at risk, barring any high difficulty bruteforce attacks against specific accounts without 2FA setup combined with email password reuse.

What actions should be taken?
It is claimed that the database is not for sale, however I would not be surprised if it becomes available in the future.

> Change Your Password
From my understanding, passwords were properly stored as salted hashes. This prevents rainbow table attacks and requires that passwords be bruteforced individually. However, I would still recommend you change your passwords on the affected websites, as well as any sites you've reused the password on. This is especially important if you are using a weak password. It's unlikely that anything will come out of the encrypted passwords, but it doesn't hurt just in case.

> Be Wary of Phishing
Anyone with access to the database now has a highly targeted email list of those who bet with crypto. There may be a rise in phishing attacks specifically targeting players on Bitcoin gambling sites.

Official Statement:
After an in-depth investigation into this matter, it was determined that a former programmer of the software provider, who had legitimate access was able to gain additional access, and download the database of Betcoin and several other licensees of the software.  After this relationship was terminated, he no longer had any access to the database and at no time did he have access to any company or user funds. This is a very serious situation and we immediately devoted all resources to it once we were informed of it.

We are bombarded by threats, DDOS and extortion attempts on a daily basis and each one improves our security. We are extremely regretful that this incident took place, but at no time was anyone’s passwords or funds in jeopardy. We do recommend that all players use a high-level password for both their email and Betcoin accounts and that you activate 2fa for additional security. If anyone needs assistance with an email or password change or setting up 2fa, please contact us any time.

We wish to thank all of our players who have been so loyal to us since we first started in 2013. In this new age of technology, you often hear about some of the largest companies in the world having been breached and unfortunately, this is how new security methods are created. But we are happy to say that, throughout these 6 years, we have never had a player balance or password compromised. We will continue to improve and refine our security methods and we look forward to the next 6 years and beyond of serving our great players. If you have any questions or concerns, please let us know via DM, support ticket or email.

Self moderated to prevent signature spam. Local Rule: This thread is to discuss the data breach and not for scam accusations against either of the sites.
13  Economy / Computer hardware / [WTB] 1080ti + Decent PSU (Canada) on: July 07, 2019, 02:13:07 AM
Looking to buy a 1080ti and a decent PSU (650W or higher, Gold/Platinum). Preferably both in one shot but I would still be interested in getting a 1080ti separately if you don't have a PSU to sell.

Located in Canada. Let me know what you have and how much you want for it.

14  Economy / Reputation / blender - Ran off with user's funds after shutting down on: June 13, 2019, 04:45:30 AM
I have created a flag against blender, the owner of BitBlender.io on the forum.
Flag: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;flag=72
They announced that they were shutting down on May 27, 2019:
Bitcoin Blender is shutting down. Please withdraw.

They ran the service for a few more days, and then took down the Tor site which is where the mixing service was located. Clearnet bitblender.io is still up, but it is only a static page. Looking at the last two pages of the ANN thread, there are many users complaining that they were unable to recover funds. Some examples:

Hi please help me get back my last coins, was not expecting this and just missed the notice! Please get the site back online with notice ahead in your thread or help me sending my coins back! I will be more than happy to give you 15% of all my coins! I have 3000 USD in there!

PLESE PM ME OR WRITE IN THIS THREAD IF YOU CAN HELP ME!

I didn't have time to withdraw my btc  Sad it was much too short notice Sad
Is there any way you could switch it back on for a short time with only withdrawals enabled? Or anything else that could be done?

I did not have time to see the notice of closure. How do I contact Bitblender for a refund? Embarrassed

Is there any way to get a message to Blender? The notice was way too short and I still have Bitcoin with the service.

I don't think they'll be back. But for a site that has scammed someone, their trust score is positive, which is definitely not right.
15  Economy / Reputation / How should this be interpreted? on: May 22, 2019, 10:13:22 PM
User blenderio ran an iPhone X giveaway to promote their mixer. (archive)
To participate, you had to do various tasks, such as adding their signature on forums, retweeting/liking their tweets, reposting a telegram post, etc. You were awarded stakes for each task that you did.

TryNinja won in the first week and received their prize. For Week 2, there was a new change: (archive)

-snip--
For the Week 2 we have the additional requirement: you will need to post at least 10 messages before the next round for each of your forum's links, otherwise those will not be counted.

Good luck and we will see who will be the owner of another iPhone X after the New Year! Grin

They now required you to make 10 posts for each forum profile link that you put (one of the actions was to wear their signature on various forums, and a bunch of users made a new account and just added the signature without doing anything else).

A winner for Week 2 was never announced. I left them negative trust a few months later for never paying out what was promised.

On May 20th (about 5 months later), they said that there was no winner because no one qualified:
Giveaway for the second week didn't happen, because none of the participants successfully completed additional requirements as stated in the quoted post above:

For the Week 2 we have the additional requirement: you will need to post at least 10 messages before the next round for each of your forum's links, otherwise those will not be counted.

My interpretation of that term was that all forum signature entries required the user to post 10 messages. I believed that this specifically applied to forum links and nothing else, as the statement talked about forum's links. There were non-forum ways of entering, such as Telegram or Twitter. I personally entered via Twitter. This was their response:

Giveaway for the second week didn't happen, because none of the participants successfully completed additional requirements as stated in the quoted post above:

For the Week 2 we have the additional requirement: you will need to post at least 10 messages before the next round for each of your forum's links, otherwise those will not be counted.

So don't count the forum links, and do the raffle based on the Twitter entries? You only specify that the forum submissions would not be counted if 10 messages were not posted. (archive)

No, I meant the ones who didn't make 10 posts won't be counted as a participants. Unfortunately, there were too few ppl for 2nd week and none of them completed requirements. Stay tuned for the next event, it will be as big as this one, if not even bigger.

Did I misinterpret their post? I can't wrap around my head how the statement resembles the supposed meaning at all. Am I missing something?
Also, was leaving them a negative trust feedback is warranted?

17  Other / Meta / What rules apply in Lending? on: May 19, 2019, 05:01:48 PM
I currently run an 'altcoin collateral required' lending service in the Lending section, and was thinking of expanding and offering no collateral loans (again). I wanted to create a new thread for the 'no collateral required' service for better organization and clarity, but I can't figure out whether or not that would be against the forum rules.

There's this rule that only applies in Currency Exchange:
16. Do not have more than one active sales topic in the Currency exchange board. [3]

And this rule in the Gambling section could somewhat apply:
One thread per site ONLY

But as far as I know, there's no Lending section specific or forum wide rule that would disallow this.

Thoughts? Am I missing something?

5. Enrolling alts will result in both of your accounts removed without payment.
