2  Bitcoin / Mining support / Avalon A6 temp sensors on: December 10, 2017, 07:12:17 AM
Hello folks,

I have some soon-to-be-obsolete A6 left in the farm. Their original fans died so I used Delta 6000 rpm fans as replacement. But then they started having too hot errors right on start up and would not hash at all.

I am thinking of removing / disabling one or two temp sensors to bypass its temp monitoring.

Does anyone know where the sensors are located? Or share how to deal with such issues if you have the experience?

Thank you.
3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / synchronization stuck at 494782 on: November 19, 2017, 07:14:21 PM
btc1 node currently gets stuck at block height 494782. Switching to core node didn't help synchronization. Does anyone know how I can resolve this stuck issue without having to download the entire block chain again?

Thanks.
4  Economy / Digital goods / [WTB] Crypto-Currency Exchange Solution on: November 13, 2017, 04:07:33 AM
I am looking for a solid exchange solution set. Please PM me if you have developed one, or you can refer someone. Will pay either way once a deal is made. Serious offer only.
5  Economy / Computer hardware / [WTS] Pandaminer 2k Yuan coupon on: July 28, 2017, 06:11:04 AM
As you shoulda noticed now, panda B5 / B3 are all up for sale.
I have received a 2000 yuan coupon for my purchase of B5 earlier this month (so im screwed).

Not expecting full value for sale, but maybe 90%ish.

Since this coupon is not transferable by nature, I assume the purchase has to be made thru my account. Therefore escrow is a MUST and fee on buyer.

Process:
- Once we have a deal, you will need to send the downpayment (at the time of purchase) as shown on official website to escrow
- I will submit an order on your behalf with my own fund for down payment
- When full amount is called upon, you send the remaining minus the discount of this coupon to escrow
- I will pay off the balance
- Upon you receiving the miner, escrow releases funds to me.
* There is no refund or withdrawal once a payment is committed. Withdrawing at halfway entitles me to receive full escrowed amount.

Due to upcoming fork, no order will be made before end of August. But deal can be made with GOOD FAITH (meaning you don't withdraw later because your wife / kid / grandpa etc. hides your wallet or whatever lame jokes) please.

Post or PM your bid in % you are willing to pay. I will pick the highest bid for deal, or if I really like you then yours doesn't have to be the highest:)
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Newbie with Panda B3 looking for a good pool on: July 26, 2017, 12:25:35 AM
Hi,

I am buying a few B3's today and will be able to put them up for mining. Though I have been mining btc for a long time but altcoins are still new to me. Can someone suggest some good pools for ETH or ZEC?

Thanks.

8  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Reducing block time vs Increasing block size on: May 20, 2017, 04:39:00 AM
Hi devs,

Instead of a direct on-chain scaling to bump up to 2, 4, or 8MB, etc. How  difficult is it to reduce avg block time to 5mins from 10mins while maintaining 1mb block size?

I have not had the talent to go through all btc codes myself and this is not a political argument question. I just want to understand the technical pros and cons of such an approach to the scaling challenge we face as of today.

Thanks for your contribution to the discussion.

EDIT:
the feasibility portion has been well covered by the great answers below so I changed the title a bit to reflect what is being discussed at the latest.
9  Bitcoin / Mining / How does merged mining work? Will we be able to merge mine BTC/BTU post fork? on: March 22, 2017, 06:40:57 PM
Can some tech gurus come out to enlighten me please?

11  Bitcoin / Group buys / [K&T Hosting] 100x Used S7 (4.73TH) Group Buy (CLOSED) on: February 19, 2017, 07:00:29 AM
Hi Everyone,

I am starting up a group buy of 100 used S7 (dual-fan 4.73TH model).

These units will be shipped then hosted at our hosting centre. (Service announcement thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1794057.0)

I am determined to buy up to 100 units no matter how many participants are in. So if you participate, please expect this deal to go through and it implies that you agree to become our hosting client. Please read our service post before making your decision.

Details about this purchase:
1. These units are bought from the US and I am asking for US$380/unit all-inclusive (shipping, custom, setup, etc.)
2. Transaction is expected to close in early March. Delivery is expected mid to late March. Setup is expected to complete by end of March.
3. USD/BTC conversion will be recorded on closing date (TBD), using Coinbase BTC/USD rate +1%.
4. For hosting signups of 6-month, we will subsidize $30 towards your hosting bill.

I understand that we are new so here is what I would like to offer escrow and partial funding option:
1. I will find a reputable escrow on the forum or if most of participants are in favor of any particular escrow, we will use him/her.
2. If one decides to participate, a deposit of 0.05 btc/unit is required to be sent to the escrow to show good faith and seriousness, 3 days before closing date (TBD). YES only 0.05 btc/unit.
3. There is no further obligation on participant, UNTIL the rig is up and running.
4. Participant is expected to pay remaining dues in full within 24 hours after purchased rig is set up.
5. Should participant choose to ditch the deal after making deposit, the deposit will be paid out to me in full.
6. Escrow fees shall be paid by participants and participants are expected to figure out the terms with the escrow. Applicable escrow fees are outstanding to the payment receivable by me. I am not involved in this part.

Proof of ownership:
1. Ownership will be assigned randomly at setup. Pictures of the unit's physical conditions and S/N tag will be sent to owner for future references.
2. We guarantee your unit is in good working conditions at the time of assignment. This includes:
2.1 Hashrate: 4.73TH/s +/- 10%
2.2 No functional damage other than reasonable cosmetic wears.

Warranty:
We provide 7-day warranty as courtesy. In the unlikely event that your assigned rig breaks or underperforms beyond 10%, we will grant you another rig in the same good working conditions as stated above.

Questions and comments are welcome below. Smiley

Interested escrows please feel free to name yourself by replying.

Greetings everyone, I would like to introduce our crypto hosting services to the public. From now on, you will have one more choice in choosing the right hosting service provider.

My partner, Kenny (k3nnyx), is an existing hobby farm owner with 500TH hash power. Kenny operates his own business, which is completely Bitcoin-unrelated. With access to very advantageous power rates and abundant spaces that we simply cannot fully utilize, Kenny decides to open them to the public.

Going forward, I will be your main contact for sales and most of the technical support. Kenny is a busy CEO but he will jump in to help if we need him. [Yes I can boss a CEO around]

FAQ

13  Economy / Reputation / reference check for user fanatic26 on: February 16, 2017, 11:28:59 PM
I am in consideration to have a big purchase from the said user. However, he does not want to use an escrow though he claims he operates a large mining farm. Has anyone dealt with him before or know him reasonably well. Please comment. Thank you!
14  Economy / Computer hardware / [WTS] Antminer R4b6 - 8.7TH/s on: February 13, 2017, 04:45:02 PM
For sale is ONE unit of the 8.7TH/s R4 batch 6. Slightly time tested for the past a few weeks. No issues so far. Chip temps appear modestly higher mainly due to my room temperature is near 30 degC.

I bought 3 units for indoor heating. One was returned for warranty after 20 hours of running. The other two have been completely solid. I need to unload this one to make room so I can test other projects.

Asking 1.5 BTC plus shipping. Escrow accepted with OgNasty, fee on buyer.

Shipping from Canada. PM your location and postal code for a quote.

PM if you are interested in making a deal. General comments, low-ball offers, and trolls, please post below.

Edit:
This unit was bought in early Jan, when they first came up on the website. It has been running stably for about a month, and still carries 5 months of warranty. Order ID / receipt info could be provided after sale upon buyer request.

16  Economy / Service Announcements / [ANN] ViaBTC Cloud Mining on: December 14, 2016, 10:00:53 AM
As I assume most people would avoid as soon as they see "cloud", I welcome you to read this topic.

==========================A serious cut off line ===========================================

Story:
I have recently been approved to become an authorized reseller of ViaBTC's cloud mining contract services. I don't expect to convert every one of you to join me into this pitch, neither can I change certain advocates' minds.

Terms
All terms and information are available on the official website so if you are interested, you would be going through those here:
https://www.viabtc.com/contract/s9/

Highlights
- ViaBTC is one of few pools that share transaction fees in their PPS scheme
- ViaBTC claims to pay residue value of your share upon contract termination. what number will that be? no one knows but I would personally stand positive on this.
- Power fee at CNY0.35 (yuan)
- Maintenance fee 6% (THIS INARGUABLY SUCKS) but if you count the transaction fee, it may even out a bit.

About me
I have mixed experiences with quite a few cloud mining companies in the past, some were legit and good, some were legit but sucked, some simply were shxt. I am still in cloud mining today, including ViaBTC.

Asking price: 0.20BTC/T (I am not allowed to sell lower than official rate. BUT BUT BUT, ask me for rebates after you purchase from me)

What additional plus can I offer?
- I am thinking of offering sell-back-to-me options if you do decide to exit for whatever reason after a while. I haven't ironed out the exact details yet so feel free to follow up with me.
- Like I said, I own some of these cloud mining contracts too. Even after a while your purchase may turn sour, feel free to blame me but keep in mind that I sell the same shxt to you and myself, rather than leaving you eat this shxt alone  Grin
- I accept escrow for your purchase but fee on you. Only publicly reputable and trusted members.

PM me if you are interested or leave constructive and relevant questions below if you believe they are valuable to other members.

Thanks.

18  Economy / Services / Renting my S9 on: December 08, 2016, 08:12:23 AM
Hi all,

I would like to rent out my S9 (11.85TH/s +/- 10%) for more predictable cash flow with the following plans:
Day rate: PPS+25%
Weekly rate: PPS+23%
Monthly(30-day) rate: PPS+20%

All plans need to be paid in full up front. No escrow. PM me if you want to make a purchase.

For monthly subscription, at your request, I can point the miner to your MRR so you can mine at your pool of choice. However, it is known that changing pools too often or at certain unstable pools may result in one or more hash boards to fail, which then would require the miner to be rebooted. This says, you may not want to resell my hash rate on MRR or you do so at your own risk if you cause the miner to go down. Upon notification, I will arrange the miner to be reset but this can require up to 1 day turn around time and I will not compensate your loss of time.

If you choose not to access the miner but via me, then any downtime will be compensated.

This thread is self-moderated. Nonconstructive or irrelevant responses will be deleted.

Thanks for viewing.
19  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / EBang 14nm 6.3T (140W/T) BTC Miner for sale soon on: December 05, 2016, 07:58:49 AM
Folks,

I came across this news today and would like to share it with you.

http://miner.ebang.com.cn/en/index.html

Currently they are a public company in China and recently launched their E9 miner product. Domestic sales started on December 4 and global sales starting on December 11.

Mining efficiency appears to come close to A7 but price wise seems to be around US$125/T.

I read their warranty (on domestic sales) has a coverage of 180 days. Looking forward to learning more about them.

If anyone has further information to share, please feel free to contribute too.
