2  Economy / Currency exchange / Buying GBP 100 BTC on: November 28, 2014, 11:19:52 PM
Hi!

I'm looking to buy BTC0.5 for £100.

I can do PayPal, or if you can wait a week I can also do a UK bank transfer.

I will only deal with those with high trust, and escrow would be preferred.

3  Other / Off-topic / My virtual £1000 1 month Bitcoin 'Investment' on: March 05, 2014, 06:55:49 PM
So...

We're doing an 'extended homework' in PD where we have been given a 'virtual' £1000 (it would be better if it were real), and we were told to do whatever we want with it, to try and make the 'most' money.

Anyhoo, I (for some reason) decided to invest it into some 'virtual' virtual money... Lets see how this goes Wink

So, according to preev.com, £1000 is ~BTC2.604. Lets see how much BTC2.604 is worth in 4 weeks time...

4  Economy / Currency exchange / 0.11 BTC for £40 Bank Transfer or PayPal on: March 03, 2014, 04:15:32 PM
Hi, I now have a guaranteed £40 available to spend on BTC.

I have closed my other topic, as it was becoming highly inaccurate... I have £40 in my bank account, and am looking to purchase 0.11BTC.

Payment would be via direct bank transfer (UK, with Faster Payments, so money would be available within 2 hours, normally within 2 minutes Wink).

Please reply here or send me a PM if interested. If you're new I would require escrow. If you're not new, but you don't have much trust I would also require escrow.

5  Economy / Currency exchange / WTS 0.00986 for £3.10 on: March 02, 2014, 03:57:57 PM
I'm wanting to sell my BTC0.00986. I am looking for £3.10 or more for them. This gets you a better rate than the preev average.

Payment via PayPal (I have a verified PayPal account) or UK bank transfer (yes, it is available for low amounts).

I'm just wanting the cash Wink

6  Other / Meta / The definitive explanation of how activity works! on: March 02, 2014, 12:31:13 PM
I've posted this in so many threads now...

So, basically, the formula for the activity value is this:

Code:
time = number of 2 week periods in which you posted
activity = min(time*14, posts)

So, lets break this down.

Code:
time = number of 2 week periods in which you posted

This basically means what it says. If you've been registered for one week, then this will be 1. If you've been registered for three weeks and posted on the first day of registration and again today, then it will be 2.

If you've been registered for one year (lets say you registered on the 1st January 2013 and today is the 1st January 2014), and you only posted on the 1st January, 10th January, 23rd March, 15 April, 18 April and the 23rd December, your time value would be 4, because you posted for 4 two-week periods.

Code:
activity = min(time*14, posts)

This basically says that your activity value is the smaller value of your time value multiplied by 14, and your post count. So, if your time value is 2, then your time*14 value would be 28. If your post count was 30, your activity value would be 28. If your post count was 20, your activity value would be 20.

I hope this explains it to some people Smiley

7  Other / Meta / Clicking PM subject no longer jumps to the PM? on: March 01, 2014, 10:15:27 AM
In the PM list, clicking the subject of the PM used to jump you to that PM. It no longer does - I have to scroll all the way to find it.

Checking the source, it would appear that there are no named anchor's on the page? Was this removed deliberately, or was it removed by accident and hasn't been brought back?

Thanks,
Liam

9  Economy / Digital goods / Spotify/Google Play Gift Cards on: February 27, 2014, 02:43:08 PM
I am offering Google Play and Spotify gift cards for BTC. My price is the cost of the gift card, + 15%, in BTC with the preev.com exchange rate.

Escrow is fine by me. Mailing the card would be possible, but you would have to cover the costs. I would normally just message you the code.

These are for UK (note that is the United Kingdom - they WILL NOT work in other countries).

Thanks,
Liam
10  Economy / Currency exchange / Buying 0.2BTC £64 on: February 26, 2014, 08:55:44 PM
I shall be wanting to buy ~$100 worth of BTC in the next few days or so.

I will be able to pay by UK Bank Transfer (from Barclays w/ Faster Payments Service). I would be willing to use Escrow, if someone explained it to me first (seriously, I just cannot get my head around it!).

I'm posting this now so I can get some offers before I get the money, so I can give it time to ____. (I forgot the word I'm looking for).

Thanks,
Liam

13  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Connecting to Bitcoin when outgoing connection are firewalled? on: February 26, 2014, 05:00:20 PM
The home internet (my parents, technically), is heavily firewalled and you can only connect to external servers on ports 80 and 443 (and one other random one that was used for my VPS VNC, but I forgot it).

Is there any way I can make the Bitcoin client connect, even with this restriction? I have access to a VPS, and could possibly purchase an extra IP to use for a port if anyone has any ideas...

14  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Bitcoin QT Says I have 0.1BTC, blockchain.info says I have 0? on: April 14, 2013, 02:09:47 PM
My bitcoin-qt client says I have 0.1BTC, so why does blockchain.info say I have 0 when I imported my wallet?
15  Economy / Digital goods / Selling vBulletin 4 License for BTC on: April 13, 2013, 02:01:56 PM
$140 in BTC. Fully transferable, doesn't expire.
16  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Are 144 blocks made a day? on: March 31, 2013, 06:49:16 PM
I read that a block is made every 10 minutes.

If that's the case, then as there are 1440 minutes in a day (24*60), then as 1440/10 is 144, it would mean 144 blocks are made daily.

Is this right, or am I talking crap?

19  Other / Off-topic / Where is the bitcoin wiki hosted? on: March 31, 2013, 05:54:22 PM
Honestly, it's the slowest site I've ever visited.

Needs a new host, really it does!
20  Economy / Digital goods / [WTS] vBulletin 4 Owned License (Forum Only) on: March 28, 2013, 06:07:29 PM
I am wanting to sell my vBulletin license as I no longer have any use for it. The cost will be BTC1.675, however I may accept best offer if you cannot afford that.

The price is subject to change. I shall have vBulletin support transfer the license over to your own customer account.

Please post in this thread AND PM me if you are interested.
