1  Economy / Scam Accusations / WARNING: Do not use Paycent.com, they scammed me for 1141.6 USD + card fee on: November 08, 2019, 09:38:39 AM
Edit: SO THEY REACTED AFTER I MADE THIS POST, AND GAVE ME MY MONEY BACK. So you know how to treat such companies in the future.

Long story short: their debit cards are disfunctional, but they are taking orders. Waiting for mine almost 6 months now, also you can't do nothing with USD credit on your account. Read the details below:

June 19th: Joined Paycent platform and ordered Mastercard debit card.

June 20th: I'm verified.
"Verification successful! You may now enjoy the features and functionalities of Paycent. If you have any concerns, e-mail us at hello@paycent.com. Thank you for trusting Paycent, where every sent matters! Sincerely, Your Paycent Team"

July 19th: Mastercard received but it's not functioning - can't assign PIN through mobile application. Mastercard NOT ACTIVATED, not matter they said they are about to activate it. Same day, they requested my passport again, no matter I'm already verified.
"We are about to activate your Paycent Solitaire Card, in order for us to do so, kindly note as per our records, your:  ·         Passport should be a whole document. Please send the document to us as soon as possible by attaching it on your email response, so that we can get your card activated by our bank. Thank you in advance for your prompt action. Sincerely, Your Paycent Team"

August 3th: They requested my proof of address again no matter I was already verified, I supplied it.

August 25: They suggested, and I accepted they replace Mastercard with UPayInternational (UPI) debit card. To this day (Nov 11), I did not receive it.
"Your card order is now updated and changed to UPI. Please wait for the bank to complete their verification process and activate the card. I trust I've explained everything clearly. Please let us know if you need any more information. Kind regards, Liam B. Customer Experience Team"

September 10th: They said they will activate UPI virtual card - not activated to this day.
"Thank you for letting us know about your recent experience with Paycent. I apologize if our service did not meet your expectations, and I appreciate you taking time to share your concerns. For the delivery of UPI, we actually rely on our partner bank as they are the one’s who distributes the card that we ship. Please note that we deliver the cards by batches. Since I have checked that your document is okay, I will make a follow up for them to speed up the activation of your virtual card so you can at least use the card for online transactions. Thank you for being patient on the matter. For additional questions, please do not hesitate to respond on this email. Sincerely, Jen S. Customer Experience Team"

I made a huge mistake exchanging 10 ETH on their platform which are essentially inaccessible now. Can't spend them, can't convert them back to crypto.

October 25th: They offered China UPay card. I rejected it, and said I want my money back (card issuance fee + 10 worth USD I have in my account. They requested my BTC address, I gave it the same day. I still received nothing.

November 1st: They said they will give my BTC back in 5 working days. Those days passed - nothing happened, they still owe me my money:
"I have raised your concern to our Finance Team for immediate handling and was advised that the full refund will be processed within 5 working days. Kindly note Saturday & Sunday are non-working days in order to set your expectations right. Rest assured that we are taking immediate actions on your concern. Thank you for understanding. Sincerily, Jansen M. Customer Experience Team"

Make your own conclusions. From my perspective, it's at least selective scamming tactics of prolonging and lying. And now I'm left only with my time and will to let everyone know. You will find this post everywhere. Thanks!

4  Economy / Speculation / Hardfork turmoil doesn't look good at all, pricewise. on: January 13, 2016, 09:35:04 AM
I would wait for solution before investing in Bitcoin until scalability issue is not resolved. I'm out, if this prolongs, we will soon see 300's....  Undecided
5  Bitcoin / Electrum / Error raised when trying to run Electrum in console mode on FreeBSD 10.2 on: December 08, 2015, 09:59:26 AM
Whatever I do, I get: "Error: Cannot read config file." Machine is old, Pentium MMX 200 MHz with 256 MB of RAM but I guess that's enough?

.electrum/config file did not exist and I created it with touch command. There is a rw permission for the owner -rw-r--r--  1 xxx  xxx      0 Dec  8 08:40 config, and I see python process runs under xxx user, so I wouldn't say the problem is in access rights...

Anyone had similar problem?
6  Bitcoin / Electrum / Electrum on FreeBSD 8.4 i386 in console mode? on: December 02, 2015, 02:35:57 PM
First I'm not sure whether Electrum has all the basic functions in console mode? I mean, can you send coins from console? And the other question is whether it can be compiled/executed on FreeBSD 8.4 i386?

Thanks...
7  Economy / Economics / How many people realise that... on: November 02, 2015, 09:44:43 PM
...if we all hold our coins, we can raise the price to unimaginable heights, effectively fuelling mainstream massive adoption. Bitcoin is good enough, scaling problems will be solved, all we have to do is HODL!!! Who said price/market cap are  not important?! It's MOST IMPORTANT factor of adoption, the higher it gets, the more people are interested joining in and realising what is the Bitcoin revolution. No matter the mandatory price drop afterwards, people are getting in mostly because it's profitable!

Right now we have a good chance to maintain this rise if we act right, and this so far may be 4th bubble. If you ask me - it's hugely overdue.
8  Economy / Speculation / Where are all those millionaires? on: January 18, 2015, 12:01:25 PM
Wtf.. 10 million of dollars are just a dimes for many people out there.. I can't understand how they already didn't realised Bitcoin is superb store of value, better than fiat and gold. Why they don't put just a part of their wealth in it?

And where the fuck is Satoshi to support his project with this million of BTC he owns?
9  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / In these desperate/FUD times, here's my (I hope) unbiased view of Bitcoin. on: September 29, 2014, 07:41:00 AM
The problems I see:

1) Lack of innovation. Absolutely nothing big happened for years now. Anonimity would be a helpful thing, even if it means hard fork. I'm starting to think this is being intentional. Anonimity is essential property.
2) 7 transactions per second, it's clear that Bitcoin can't compete with other paying systems with a constraint like that.
3) Much energy lost on various alt-coins. We're fighting a war against banksters and fiat money. This is whole new healthy economy and sense of unity and focused work would be better than what we have now - 150 new altcoins every month. In the other hand I keep questioning myself is it really possible to code for Bitcoin now, are people allowed to? Not much into Bitcoin development, so I just don't know how much Bitcoin is open to development by public.
4) We run out of geeks and early smart investors. There's nowhere 1.5mil USD to be found daily just to keep the price steady.
5) Right now, Bitcoin is much more of a speculation/investment vehicle rather than currency/payment system, and that is changing slowly. Price stabilization is good, but can and will happen only when adoption as currency is much much greater.

I think we can safely conclude no merchant adoption will help it rise. It's weak factor. Even if Amazon, Google, Ebay and Paypal fully accepted it, I feel like maximum 2x rise is possible and then again slow decline. Besides, we already know Bitcoins spent for purchases are in most cases immediately converted to fiat.

For the Bitcoin price to rise, either somehow big investors realise that they have interest to invest, or some big financial crysis hit somewhere and many average Joes decide to try to save their own wealth. Remember, Bitcoin is more accessible to people than gold. The more - gold is a scam afaik, they say there's 7 times more of a gold in papers than in reality, correct me if you think I'm wrong.

The last thing I said makes me very nervous selling my portion of Bitcoins. Another bubble may kick-in, because those two scenarios I mentioned may be reality any minute now, especially as we're in ~300$ waters. Remember it's close to previous peak of 270$, and price around $300 may be considered bottom.

Discussion welcome.
10  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / I just wish Satoshi Nakamoto reads this! on: September 16, 2014, 07:05:02 AM
Hello Satoshi!

First of all, thank you for inventing what many people consider to be the first fairly successful attempt of making real money - a tool which could help humanity escaping the only system that reigns today, that is known as Modern Slavery. Bitcoin is already converting the sick economy into something better, but I'm affraid the process is slow because such thing can never get the full support from governments and financial institutions, and sad fact is that mass is commonly ignorant and can't see what's best for them.

I'm telling all of this to you because your (and our) job is not done yet, we still can't say something like: "Bitcoin became the number 1 currency for world-wide personal transfers and online payments".

So they say you're holding have 1 mil of Bitcoins. That's around 500 mil $, which is sum pretty much hard to spend, especially for modest man like you're most probably are. That money is yours and you deserved every penny, but what would you do with it?

Now imagine just a 10th of that sum to be spent on marketing effort which would attempt bringing masses to Bitcoin. We already have the infrastructure we need, we even have Bitcoin ATMs worldwide. That kind of marketing investment could bring a critical mass of people adopting Bitcoin, and BOOM, there's no turning back! Bitcoin HAS become the number 1 currency in the world and I just can't imagine how proud would I be if I'm the one most responsible for such enormous civilization advancement.

First technical phase is almost over. Average Joe needs marketing effort to understand what's best for him. Please, Satoshi, consider this marketing option.

On the technical side, I would suggest that if you're really going to spend many Bitcoins on such campaign, you should spend Bitcoins directly and anonymously, not converting them into fiat, offering premium rates to marketing companies for their services. That way you can even stay anonymous and do the greatest thing in the world that can be done today.

Hope these were not the empty words for you and public, Thank you again!
11  Bitcoin / Project Development / Looking for free, opensource and flexible automated trading platform? on: August 20, 2014, 06:13:40 AM
I did my research, the best one you can get is here: https://github.com/pulsecat/cryptrade

It runs .coffee scripts, same ones that run on cryptotrader.org, but the problem is it is abandoned for about 8 months now. Seems like developer has focused on cryptotrader.org's closed source version. Platform specific code is available for Bitstamp, BTC-e and CEX.io. Already tried it for Bitstamp and BTC-e and it seems it works, I have several trades now.

Would be really good for advanced automated trading community if this project resurrects and I'm even willing to put some bounties for porting it to Kraken and Bitfinex as well as healing some bugs...

13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / What is the most perspecive/promising SHA256D altcoin? on: April 21, 2014, 06:28:16 AM

14  Economy / Speculation / Somewhere around 15th April, I expect sharp rise on: April 03, 2014, 12:50:44 PM
Because lot of FUD is going on, as well as some really bad China news about crypto, I imagine lot of chinese would like to withdraw their fiat from exchanges, but there must be some which do want to continue to play this crypto game and they have their fiat sitting on exchanges. So when we reach the final stage of desperation, little before 15th I predict many of them will start to buy coins to transfer their funds to other exchanges. That floor level may be around 300-350$, and I wouldn't be surprised that we reach 650-700 in just few days, followed by a period of correction and stability around 550. That's my best guess, I will visit this topic again in 15 days to see if I'm even remotely capable of seeing the future Smiley   Next rally? Really hard to tell, but I do think it will happen this year for sure.

17  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Newest Avalon ASIC 60 GHash firmware is slower? on: January 06, 2014, 05:29:16 PM
Today I flashed my Avalon to newest version firmware (20131229) and it seems it works 2 times slower than with previous firmware (20130923). What is most weird, speed is normal when you read it from Avalon's cgminer's status page (around 70 Ghash), but when I read it from pool (ppc.fixx.ru) workers page, it's like ~35 GHash.

Already tried downgrading firmware to previous version, but it doesn't help - speed reported by the pool is still the same - 2x slower.

I guess many people who upgraded should experience the same? Somebody solved it already?
18  Economy / Scam Accusations / OKPay.com horror story! on: November 11, 2013, 09:14:47 PM
Here's Reddit link. Please give me ups there if you feel like.

Everything started actually few months ago when I decided to try to order Mastercard OKPay plastic debit card. It turned that they do not want to send card to my country. I said OK, I will keep on checking and maybe some day they will remove my country from the forbidden countries list.

You should know also that I'm verified member there and they have all data about me. Gone through some shit while I was verifying myself there, but that's another not that much fucked up story.

2 days ago, I saw my country is delisted, and I decided I should apply for card. I submitted my real data, not a single lie or intentional fuckup.

Today I received an email stating: "Hello, we are sorry to inform but card issuer bank does not produce and send card to XXX. The card order has been canceled. Thank you."

So I said ok, at least I can tell them to put my country back on the list of forbidden countries... But I was unable to logon to site and make support ticket! After I received that email, they blocked my IP address, sending me to blank page in Firefox. Tried the site in Chromium, I was redirected to some generic ad site. Tried the site from Tor network - yep it worked.

You should remember this is happening while my OKPay account is filled with money. No explanations, site just ceased to work from my IP.

So I managed to send money back to BTC-e somehow (details not needed, but it wasn't direct), and I decided to once again tell the community, and I'm not the only one.

DON'T DO ANY BUSINESS WITH THEM, THEY CAN TURN THEIR BACK ON YOU AND STEAL YOUR MONEY FOR NO REASON AND NO EXPLANATION. YOU'VE BEEN WARNED...

P.S. They blocked 2 Tor exit IPs also, but one "new identity" solves it all.
19  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Unknown transaction - very interesting [SOLVED] on: October 20, 2013, 08:16:59 AM
Yesterday, I received 0.00000002 BTC in my wallet. I don't know who sent that. Transaction id is: 02341dbe4198915f807be0a0720d0a4ac37ca4b50bb2e957c49f400a21e7c65f-000, but what's most interesting is that I can't find that transaction at blockchain.info, it does say "Firstbits not found", so it's all a complete mistery for me... Somebody care to explain?

Thanks...
