1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Official: 'Paypal opened crypto buy/sell 4 customers in the UK' on: September 17, 2021, 04:58:40 PM
After sometime, now Paypal officially Tweets about their openness to crypto.

All eligible Paypal customers in the UK can now buy, hold and sell Cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, Ethereum,  Bitcoin Cash & Litecoin from their PayPal account!

How will the market react, will this be enough to send BTC into 48K+ or not? What do you think?

2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / News! VISA considers accepting crypto payments in Brazil on: September 13, 2021, 12:29:47 PM
In light of the market turmoil, there's some positive news.

Eduardo Abreu, the vice president of Visa’s new business is considering expanding VISA in Brazil to accept crypto, and in particular BTC (among others) payments.

At this stage, this is still an idea and it would take some time to see it implement but at least there are talks in the right direction.

Would this and similar news be enough to trigger an upward/less volatile market? Seems like we all need it, considering how the Alonzo hard fork on Cardano ecosystem had no impact on price upward movement (or maybe not yet)

3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Ukraine to legalize cryptocurrencies > Bill passed 2nd reading on: September 09, 2021, 09:35:08 AM
Yesterday, September 8, 2021, the Ukrainian Parliament voted for the Virtual Assets Bill. What it means is that, holders of such assets will legally exchange and declare them, and enables companies to register as blockchain business.

Here are the main points of change brought by the bill:

  • cryptocurrencies will be legal;
  • market players will be entitled to judicial and other ways of protecting virtual assets rights;
  • entities in Ukraine will be entitled to operate international exchanges where virtual assets are traded. However, for this, they (like other providers of services related to cryptocurrencies) will have to pass state registration in Ukraine and submit reports on their activities to the competent authorities;
  • the Ministry of Digital Transformation will be the regulator of the virtual assets market; in some cases, the National Bank of Ukraine and the National Securities and Stock Market Commission will also have the authority;
  • according to the bill, there will be a new regulator – the National Virtual Assets Regulatory Service (NVARS), which will issue licenses to crypto companies in Ukraine;
  • financial monitoring of the virtual assets market will be going under the recommendations of FATF (Financial Action Task Force).

So, it looks like Ukraine is stepping in similar footsteps as El Salvador. Hopefully, the bill gets approved for good, and after that it will be interesting to see which other countries will take a similar pro-crypto legalisation approach.
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Microsoft to use Blockchain technology to fight piracy on: August 17, 2021, 01:13:12 PM
The latest research document produced (and released) by Microsoft's research team where blockchain-based incentive system was used as a way to maintain privacy, suggests that Microsoft is not ruling out blockchain as the intermediary to solving the privacy issue and instead considers the ETH blockchain to reach their goal.

For a full read, see article.

My take on this is that this is just the beginning of cooperations seeing and researching the blockchain technology as the new 'antidote' to providing large-scale privacy and data solutions.

Do you think blockchain scaling solution/s could replace many of today's businesses, and the effect will trickle into the crypto space as the 'retails' investment era???

5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / BSV undergoing 51% attack right now!!! on: August 03, 2021, 09:49:12 PM
On today's list of crypto breaking news is that Bitcoin SV (BSV) reportedly suffers & is going through a massive 51% attack.
https://twitter.com/Altcoin_Alerts/status/1422671127084605441

For those new on here, a 51% attack is when a miner or group of miners manage to gain control over 50% of that network, compromising consensus, and thus leaving plenty of room for vulnerability.

Perhaps a good time to short BSV? Or even better, wonder what could have caused this... Either way, it's something to be aware of for the future of BSV and other alts.
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Thorchain (RUNE) Exploited for 13,000 ETH team confirmed on: July 15, 2021, 10:19:58 PM
It seems that lately different alts (DEXTools, DeFiPie) suffered from hack attacks. This now includes Thorchain (RUNE) which got exploited for approx 13,000 ETH. Thorchain is one of the major project with a current marketcap fo 271M and 64th Rank.

https://etherscan.io/address/0x3a196410a0f5facd08fd7880a4b8551cd085c031

THORChain posted "During a live attack, the network has been halted. Approximately 13,000 ETH of value was extracted from the protocol. Treasury has the funds to cover the stolen amount".

All of these attacks, just makes it impossible for people to trust crypto in its entirety. At least, in RUNE's case those that lost their funds will be getting it back but still it is a concerning matter.

7  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / eBay to be pursuing crypto payment options for its customers. Thoughts on: May 03, 2021, 09:26:34 PM
It is not so much of a new topic but at least it's becoming more and more transparent now that eBay is not going to miss out on the crypto market.

Jamie Iannone the CEO of eBay announced that eBay will be "exploring opportunities" to enable nonfungible tokens (NFTs) or crypto options for their customers. As always, details not yet released but it shows what many of us predicted following Tesla's and PayPal's crypto integration.

''In an interview with CNBC today, eBay CEO Jamie Iannone said the company will "continue to look" at payment options like crypto. In addition, he said eBay will be "exploring opportunities" to enable nonfungible tokens, or NFTs, on the platform "in an easy way," comparing the digital offerings to collectibles.''

8  Economy / Speculation / BTC reached ATH 62K - are we on another milestone, 100K? on: April 13, 2021, 09:12:16 AM
Many of you might have already received the alerts that BITCOIN has reach yet another ATH

We have seen many cooperations looking at BTC as an asset and investing in it, what started as a Tesla support for crypto rolled over into VISA and PayPal. Clearly,

BTC is receiving more and more interest day by day.

What do you think will be next for BTC? Some people say it could reach 100K, what do you think?
9  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Visa to embrace crypto by launching a pilot program on crypto payments on: March 29, 2021, 07:12:33 PM
Here's some positive news.

Visa enlists onto the crypto supporter group by allowing payment settlements using cryptocurrency.

Source here: https://www.reuters.com/article/crypto-currency-visa/exclusive-visa-moves-to-allow-payment-settlements-using-cryptocurrency-idUSB8N27V00M

While this is a pilot study, it seems that Elon's influence as well as other major finance firms like BlackRock Inc and Mastercard Inc is really making an impact.

I wonder which major firm/company will be next to realise the power of crypto  Huh Huh Huh
10  Economy / Speculation / BTC dump breaks through 53K resistance barrier on: March 24, 2021, 10:22:55 PM
Some of you might have seen the massacre that's taking place right now, with BTC experiencing massive sell orders tumbling it under 53K...

What are everyone's thoughts at the moment? Do you still HODL when sell orders as high as 49M are coming through breaking any resistance there was?

It would be interesting to see people's thoughts, as I'm sure many are panicking right now.

Comments & feedback will be appreciated as always Wink
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Do any casinos offer cryptocurrency staking? on: July 10, 2020, 05:40:33 PM
There has been a lot of talk lately about which new features are important for cryptocurrency casinos to add;

The general consensus is that new games, deposit methods, chat features etc are expected from any good casino. But has anywhere actually began offering cryptocurrency staking options for accepted cryptocurrencies?

As far as I've seen, plenty of crypto casinos support deposits for stakeable assets like Tezos, Cardano, Tron etc, but I haven't seen a single casino that allows users to benefit from this feature.

Seems like a nice potential revenue option for casinos and its users... Just need to add a withdrawal delay that accounts for the staking period for those that opt in to the feature.
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / TRX Unstaking via TronLink (MERIT FOR HELP) on: June 30, 2020, 11:22:31 PM
Has anybody ever unfrozen their TRX via TronLink?

My assets are currently frozen until Saturday, but the Unfreeze button appears to be available now. If I unfreeze now, will I still need to wait until Saturday to be able to transfer my TRX?

Or if I wait until Saturday, will I be able to unfreeze my TRX instantly?

I've seen reports stating that after unfreezing I need to wait 3 days before I can spend the TRX? But there seems to be conflicting information as to whether these 3 days include the 3 days the TRX are originally frozen for.

Non spammy help = merit.
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Facebook's Libra - Implications. on: June 07, 2019, 11:57:05 PM
Facebook acquired Chainspace earlier this year and then I've been reading about this techcrunch rumor of an 18th june whitepaper release. How close to truth is that?
Considering the idea here is to create a currency alternative to euro or usd as opposed to a security token, what can be the implications?
Surely speculative aspects are gone down the drain. And its going to be node licenced with each costing up to 10 million, and apparently only available for lease to large corps. so the small businesses / regular crypto investor is out of the game.. or is there a way for anyone of us to actually get a piece of the cake?
14  Economy / Services / Signature Campaign Manager For Hire on: October 24, 2017, 10:02:46 PM
I've been an active contributor on this forum for a few years now and in looking at the Services section of the forum, I feel that I have something valuable to add.  I believe I have the organizational skills, time management ability, and forum knowledge to be a solid partner for someone looking to start up a signature campaign as a key marketing effort for their bitcoin-based business.

What I'm able to do for you:

1. Create and maintain the application thread

With your input and authorization, I will type/format the application thread to clearly convey to prospective applicants what you are looking for in sig holders.  I will go through every applicant and vet their posting history.

Let's face it: with so many posters looking for a sig campaign to join, it really is a seller's market.  You don't have to settle for the first X people who sign up, you can be super selective.  I will go through applicant's posting history and choose the cream of the crop to represent your business.  People who frequently post long replies, engage in legit discussions, help people out.  These are the people you want to advertise your business because it will add value to your business.

2. Create and maintain a spreadsheet for full transparency

This is important because it shows everyone what is going on and how everything is being processed.  Names, links to profiles, date joined, number of posts in every payable time period, everything relevant should be listed for both the sig holders and you to see at all times.

3. Vet everyone's weekly postings

It's important to stay diligent and make sure that everyone is promoting your company in as positive a light as possible.  I'll go through everyone's posts, every week, to make sure that they are following all the rules set forth in the campaign.  Anyone who I find slipping I'll reach out to, quickly and privately, to make sure everything is ok, explaining to them their deficiencies and help them get back on track.  I'll be quick to pull people who aren't carrying their weight as, like I mentioned, it's a seller's market.  Everyone will be treated fairly but everyone will be expected to live up to the standards they agree to.

4. Provide you with a timely and clear payment list

I do not want to be handling any money.  While I have a spotless posting history on this forum, I haven't earned that kind of trust yet so it would be crazy to expect anyone to give me that responsibility.  I will have everyone's btc address (and they will all be listed on the spreadsheet) and every week (or whatever time frame you'd like), I will vet all the payable posts to ensure quality and add everything up.  I will provide you with an easily copy/pasteable list of addresses and amounts and all you will have to do is take the two minutes to copy and paste those into your wallet to send.

Pretty standard campaign manager stuff, but I feel that I can execute everything with a high degree of speed, accuracy, and professionalism.  I'll obviously be available to contact during the campaign for any questions, comments, or concerns you may have.

Now, I think it's important to note that I'm not looking for any organization to represent.  My name and reputation is on the line in any campaign I manage so I'm only interested in working with people that share my ethics and integrity.  Here are the things I'm looking from out of prospective sig campaign owners:

1. You must have an established degree of trust

Whether it's an established company with a history of timely payouts/happy customers, an individual who has already run a successful company, or a startup with proven results and escrowed funds, I'm looking to work with someone who is in it for the long haul and isn't some fly by night cash grab.

2. Must deal in bitcoin only

The simple fact of the matter is, I don't feel comfortable working with coins that I'm not knowledgeable about.  Alt coins and ICOs are outside of my scope of knowledge so I don't feel that I'd be able to give companies that deal in those currencies the expertise they need.

3. Must have a clear goal and maintain communication

I can fill in a lot of blanks, and have plenty of ideas on how to get the most out of a sig campaign, but it's important that I work with someone who knows what they want out of the sig campaign.  Likewise, it's important that whoever I work for be available to communicate when needed.  If payments go out late, for example, that reflects poorly on me.

And that's pretty much it.  Basically, I'm professional and will treat your business professionally.  Since this is something that I'm trying out, I'm only looking to work with one company at the moment, to make sure that I can give the job the attention it deserves and to better gauge how much time is needed to provide an expert sig campaign manager experience.  If this seems like something you'd be interested in, feel free to hit me up and we can discuss what it is you are looking for and how I can potentially be of help.  If this thread is unlocked, it means I'm still looking for someone to do business with.  Thanks for reading!
15  Economy / Gambling discussion / NCAA March Madness brackets? on: March 16, 2016, 11:16:46 PM
I was wondering if there are any established sites or player-run, escrowed groups that have a paid bracket competition this year.  I'm looking for anything between .01BTC-.1BTC entry, ideally with a 100+ person gtd.  Thanks.
