1  Economy / Services / Any Electricians or Mechanical Engineers Available for Remote Consulting Work? on: June 02, 2018, 03:46:34 AM
Looking for electricians  and mechanical engineers who know data centers, to provide remote consulting support. Clients hire me to scout locations for data centers, need electrical and mechanical opinions.  This work can be done remote, can pay by the hour.  Great moonlight opportunity - probably 5-20 hours/month to start.

If you're interested, please email anythingbutlatin at gmail with a short description of your qualifications, hourly rate and availability.
2  Economy / Service Discussion / Have You Sent Miners to Canada for Hosting? Other Costs.... on: April 11, 2018, 05:38:41 AM
Curious if any of you have sent rigs to Canada (from US) for hosting, but then were hit with tariffs or other costs (taxes?).

And bringing the rigs back must have costs, too?

I'm bringing this up bc you know what they say about things that seem too good to be true. Trying to find the catch on a deal I was offered.
3  Economy / Services / Selling 5 S9 Hosting Accounts for $105/month on: April 07, 2018, 01:49:01 AM
I'm selling five S9 hosting accounts (starting in May) for $105/month each (3 months prepaid).  There is a one-time setup of $125.

If you have an ASIC, but not an S9, I'll offer you the same rate.  Just let me know what your rig is and I'll convert the price.

The hosting accounts are slashed significantly.  Usually these are $135/month.

PM me with contact info.  You can see info about our hosting on www.bayonlinemedia.com, but you won't find this offer there.

7  Economy / Service Announcements / Data Center is open in WA. Reserve your $0.10 kWh space on: February 20, 2018, 11:13:03 AM
I announced my intent to open a data center a few months ago, and it's finally happened.

100% renewable (hydroeleectric) power in Shelton WA.
I'll give a lifetime contract at $0.10 kWh to the first 200 ASIC's.

I bought a truck to provide free pickup and transportation when possible.  Contact me and I'll do my best to accommodate.

We're donating 1% of gross to our "house" charities.  I develop immunotherapies for cancer and rare canine neurological disorders, and our house charities are currently cancer/canine.

TO INQUIRE ABOUT HOSTING, EITHER PM ME WITH YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS OR REPLY TO THIS POST.
Since I am still a newbie, I can only PM about one/hour, that's why I'm asking for your email address (or your patience).
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Article About Why People Use Crypto on: January 27, 2018, 10:51:21 AM
Let's get to the bottom of this at last: why are people using crypto's anyway??

Tell me your main uses for coins (up to three choices).

WHY I'M WRITING AN ARTICLE

I've been disappointed by mainstream media's portrayal of why/how people use coins.  Instead of citing data, they quote someone like Warren Buffet who doesn't even use coins, and people believe everything that guy says.

So I'm going to write an article myself.  It's been a few years since I've published anything, but I wok in media and can get an article published with a reputable group.  I'll let you all know where you can find it.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP, THIS COMMUNITY IS AWESOME AND Y'ALL ARE THE ONES THE MEDIA SHOULD'VE BEEN TALKING TO

9  Economy / Service Announcements / Space Opening in New WA Data Center, Get on Waiting List on: January 23, 2018, 11:36:12 AM
I'm finally moving forward opening a modest (not mega) data center in WA (where I live).  I've posted details on my site along with a means of getting on my list (I'll be notifying folks when I'm online in a few weeks).

Being a newbie, I'm pretty sure I cannot post a link, so you'll have to PM me for that.  Keep in mind I can only respond to so many PM's per hour, so I might not respond immediately.

[edit] I was able to put the link in my profile icon on the left. [/edit]
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / If a Bank Bought XRP at $.15 and Uses it to Send $$ on Ripple Network... on: January 22, 2018, 03:11:10 AM
I'm wondering why banks don't buy up as much XRP as they can (when the price has dipped).  If ta bank bought XRP at $.15, and that same XRP is $1.39 on the exchanges, aren't they going to be making even more profit when they use XRP to send money on the Ripple network?

What I'm getting at is this:  if banks are increasingly using the Ripple network and it seems like Ripple is going to own most of SWIFT's current market share, why wouldn't banks be rushing to buy up XRP at lower prices so that they don't have to buy XRP at a higher price later?

I must be missing something, because you'd think if this were true, banks would make an investment in their future and make huge purchases when they perceive the price to be lower than a likely future price.
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Experienced Marketing Strategist, When You Need a World Class Campaign on: January 18, 2018, 04:35:11 AM
I've been a marketing strategist for 20 years, I've created strategy and managed teams at many F500 companies.   I've got experience competing in the fiercest markets against the top teams.  I "retired" from marketing a few years ago and have been angel investing and performance marketing in the coin sector.

If you've got a project that needs marketing, I'd like to hear about it.   I'll only manage campaign operations for one project at a time, though I can create and execute strategies if I'm not the one handling campaign op's.  If you're not sure what this means, I can explain it if I think there might be a match.

I'm looking for promising ICO's, or random projects that solve a problem and are well thought out.  I'll work for coins or fiat.
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / D3 Sound Cancellation Project: Early Results on: January 18, 2018, 04:09:45 AM
I recorded a D3 for 45 secs, imported the wav file into an editor, and inverted it.  Then I looped the playback while sitting behind a small desktop speaker facing the D3.

For a few minutes I couldn't really hear the D3, but that's not to say the room was quiet.  This part is tough to explain, but it's as though a loud white sound is floating in the middle of the room.  I wouldn't want to get on the phone, but I also struggle to hear the D3.  Weird.

Problem with the D3 is it keeps changing the frequencies being emitted.  So the noise cancellation will be working for 12 seconds and then suddenly it sounds like the D3 is shifting gears, and then the inversion no longer works.

Without having a real-time cancellation device, I think the best solution would be to record the D3 over a longer period of time to capture all those modulations.  Then bring that into an editor, invert it, and create a cancellation file that has all the wave forms needed looped.

I'm aware of sound-insulation boxes that have been built, so no need to recommend alternative solutions, this was just an experiment bc I was curious.

Anyone else tried this before?  What kind of results did you get?
13  Economy / Service Announcements / I'm Opening a Data Center in Washington State. Need a Place to Scale? on: December 21, 2017, 08:39:34 AM
I'm sure most of you on this board know about the cheap power in Washington state.  I'm a WA resident, my current home mining operation has hit its capacity.  I'm going to lease an industrial spot in January, and I'm going to rent out the space I'm not using to help pay the bills.

I've worked in and out of data centers for 20 years, that is a serious business you don't go into lightly.  And to be clear, I do not intend to set up a DoD certified data center.
I am going to set up a facility a professional IT guy would set up for himself on a limited budget but with high standards (everything will be insured, we'll have WA state contracts).

At this stage, I just want to talk to some others who may be interested to find out what you're looking for and see if there's a mutual opportunity.

You can PM me or reply to this if you have questions (for the benefit of others).
