3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / why would Nextcoin be better then Peercoin? on: January 14, 2014, 07:50:23 AM
Ok, I saw this "awesome" new video about Nextcoin, so let me get my facts straigth:

- all of the coins premined
- 100 percent proof of stake

- the coins are distributed via SHA-256 mining
- when the mining is over, we have almost 100 percent proof of stake

So why in the world would NXT be better in anything than Peercoin?

5  Bitcoin / Mining / don't mine at BTCGuild on: September 15, 2013, 04:27:51 PM
As I'm speaking BTCGuild has 43 percent od the network. This is not healthy for the Bitcoin ecosystem at all. Please don't mine there
6  Bitcoin / Mining support / bitforce single sc 60 Ghash/s mining only 55 Ghash on: September 02, 2013, 05:41:44 PM
Hello everyone,

I just got the new single by mail, opened and set it up (just installed the driver, setup the easyminer) and now I'm mining around 55 Ghash/s. Is it because some of my chips are faulty? The system is saying the temperature is around 73 degree celsius which is kinda a lot. Is there a way to improve the performace? Should I use cgminer instead of easyminer? Any tweaks/hacks that I should know about?

I guess opening the case could help it a bit, but there are weird screws which I don't have at home...

Thanks a lot

8  Economy / Auctions / 32 BFL chip credits 60 hours auction on: June 16, 2013, 04:32:57 PM
I've got 32 BFL Chip Credits. Each credit gives $25 off the $75/chip price.

There is a minimum chip order of 100 chips, and these credits used together on such an order would represent $800 off the total order.  The credits are fully transferable via email.

I received these through the Customer Appreciation program, as described here:

proof of ownership of the chips:

Bidding starts at 0.1 BTC for all 32 credits.  Bids must be in increments of at least 0.05

end time:

Timer removed. End time: 2013-06-19

buyer sends bitcoins first, I'm also willing to use escrow.
9  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / why didn't you switch to thinking in mBTC yet? on: June 16, 2013, 09:21:50 AM
Alright, so BTC has a stable value around 100 bucks. Your friend approaches you and says he wants to buy some bitcoins. You tell him to whip out a 100 dollar bill and you send him one bitcoin. From a psychological point of view, he's getting one of something for 100 bucks. I think that kinda sucks and he won't like it much. If you were selling him 1000 mBTC, so he would be getting 10 mBTC for one dollar, that is from a psychological standpoint a better trade for him.

Just saying that I shitched to thinking in mBTC, I changed the view on my electrum wallet and I like it. Now I'm not getting 0.4 BTC for mining but 400 mBTC. On the other hand the new Trezor cost me 1000 mBTC which I paid less hapilly then "just" one BTC.

I'm from Czech republic and one mBTC is worth 2 CZK, so it's much nicer then saying hey give me 2000 CZK for one bitcoin.

This is all psychological of course but I just like buying humble bundle 50 mBTC rather then for 0.05 BTC

Enough of this rant. Tell me why haven't you switched your wallet to mBTC yet.
10  Economy / Scam Accusations / bitfloor owing lots of people lots of money on: June 07, 2013, 01:06:19 PM
Hi everyone,

I am writing to acuse founder of bitfloor shtylman of scam  -;u=37090

bitfloor was an exchange which closed down unexpectedly and has been promising to return money for almost two months now. They claim to have a check from the bank for almost a month now. What are they doing with the check? There has been no news for almost a month now.

So the founder of bitfloor owes me and my colleague almost 1200 USD and I am accusing him of scam.

I can provide screenshots of the account ballance if needed.
11  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / BFL wants me to pay shipping twice on: May 29, 2013, 06:15:12 PM
Hello everyone,

I turn with my question to the community because I have nowhere else to go. Some time ago BFL announced that they will be shipping in two weeks™. After this I was pretty excited and went to their website to log into the user administration to check on my order. I have ordered the Single (60 Ghash/s) and my order number is 26XX so I'm pretty early there.

So yeah, they offered to upgrade the shipping to express for $312.00, which I excitedly paid for using BitPay. Here's a transaction ID:

I even have a screenshot of the payment cause I like to make sure of things. So now I login into the website again and it seems like BFL has not registered my payment (which was confirmed to me before and I saw it as paid in the customer section of the website). I sent an email to the customer support and they didn't even bother to reply.

Has anyone else had the same problem?

EDIT: the issue is now resolved and the order has the express shipping marked as paid...
12  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / BTC to mBTC in the main client on: March 19, 2013, 10:59:50 AM
Hello everyone,

I know this discussion has been here before, but I think it is an issue that is more pressing then ever now with the new bitcoin prices. I think we should no longer deal in BTC, but in mBTC.

When I tell someone to buy 1 BTC for for example 1000 CZK (Czech fiat currency) it sounds pretty awful. If I told him to buy 1 mBTC for 1 CZK, it does not sound too bad at all.

I propose that we start by showing the amount in our wallets in mBTC. People should get used to the new denomination in bitcoin.

What do you guys think?

13  Bitcoin / Wallet software / bitcoin wallet for windows mobile (8) on: March 11, 2013, 04:24:51 PM
Hi everyone

has anyone thought of creating a wallet for windows mobile? I own a smartphone with this operating system and I believe that we will see this platform on the rise. Will someone pick up the challenge of creating a wallet for this platform? I would even be willing to chip in on the development in case someone starts it up.

Thank you

14  Bitcoin / Electrum / Thank you thread on: February 16, 2013, 03:46:04 PM
I just wanted to thank all the developers for making such a great product!
It's so much better then the official client, it's actually running, it doesn't take forever to load, it doesn't slow down my computer so much... It's a great product, keep up the good work!

15  Economy / Service Discussion / dissapointed by bitcoin enterpreneurs - BFL, GLBSE on: December 06, 2012, 08:31:28 AM
Hello everyone,

I have been a bitcoin enthusiast for almost a year now. I became interested in putting some of my money into the system and I preordered a single SC from BFL. I also put some of bitcoins which I bought for cash into GLBSE and bought some ASICMINER shares.

Now it seems to me like the companies are just screwing with us. I have always stood by BFL in threads in the past, but now they just keep on putting the ship dates back and it's not something that can be easily overlooked since so many of us put so much money into the preorders. Some of us paid half a year ago and I really hope it's not wasted money.

GLBSE is an issue by itself. People that met Nefario in RL are saying how nice guy he is. I say fuck him. How hard it would be for him to release information about shareholders so at least we could continue our relationship with company in which we invested in normally? He's screwing with us like we're some kind of idiots and I hate that.

So where I'm getting - we need more people that would run a trustworthy business in bitcoin world so that bitcoins can flourish and not be trampled down by these scammers and half assed promises of deliveries.
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / alternate cryptocurrencies - which ones are worth time? on: October 17, 2012, 07:52:24 AM
Hey everyone.

I'm pretty new to Bitcoin and I have also read and been interested in Litecoin and Namecoin for a while now. Now I hear there are bunch of other cryptocurrencies, different branches of pretty much the same thing.

So can anyone tell me if there is another alternative cryptocurrency other then Namecoin and Litecoin worth watching?

17  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / how will the BFL ASIC be operated? on: September 25, 2012, 08:12:15 AM
I've heard that the current BFL single is run as an external hardware. So you run a mining software on a PC of your choice, connect the single to your PC using the USB and it will run and communicate with the PC with no problems.

What about the new Single SC from BFL? Anyone knows how will it run? I preordered one single SC and I'm thinking about getting a raspberry pi to operate it. Is that a good idea? Thank you for answers.
