61  Economy / Lending / Small loans offered on: August 02, 2014, 09:30:55 PM
I'm offering small loans,  I'm generally quite flexible.

Please reply in thread, I don't want to be swamped with PMs

Reply with request of amount, terms, address, reason for the loan and collateral offered.

Ideally a crypto as collateral would be best, LTC etc...

But also accept valuable items like electronics, gold and silver as collateral. Since I'm in the UK, this may not be an option for everyone.

No collateral, no loan so please do not ask, I'm sorry but the forum is way too full of scammers for me to consider anything less than full collateral. Escrow can be arranged.

If the borrower reneges on the agreement and does not repay I reserve the right to liquidate any collateral.

This thread is self moderated.

66  Economy / Computer hardware / [WTS] ASRock 970 Extreme3 R2.0 Motherboard and AMD Sempron 145 Processor on: June 16, 2014, 12:21:39 PM
£40 for the motherboard:

ASRock 970 Extreme3 R2.0 Motherboard (Socket AM3+, AMD 970, DDR3, S-ATA 600, ATX, 2x PCI Express 2.0, Supports THX TruStudio, Premium Blu-ray Audio Support)

Looking for £12 for the processor:

AMD SDX145HBGMBOX Sempron 145 Single-Core Energy Efficient Processor (2.80 GHz, 1MB Cache, Socket AM3, 45W, 3 Year Warranty, Retail Boxed)

Little more than 2 years left on the warranty.

Been used in a little mining rig on and off for a few months. Open frame box in a dry non smoking home.

Based in the UK, will ship anywhere, but obviously the shipping costs may make this prohibitive outside of Europe.

Can use escrow if requested, but you will see from my trust and my coin sales that it would make no sense to scam for such a small amount of money.
67  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Best miner to buy when not paying for electricity? on: June 13, 2014, 02:34:27 PM
So I haven't mined all that much for a while due to space and cost constraints.

But I have an office I can use for a few miners now.

What would you guys recommend as a good miner to purchase right now, taking into account I will have no energy costs?

I'm not wanting to spend more than a few BTC ideally.

Thanks!
68  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / bbq.ltcoin.net dissappeared? on: May 24, 2014, 08:19:56 PM
Seems to be like the wind right now? Anyone know why the Houdini act of a sudden?

I thought that this was a fairly well used pool, but I guess I was wrong as I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere else.

69  Economy / Computer hardware / [WTS] Watercooled Mining Rig 2x 7950s (room for one more) on: May 19, 2014, 09:49:28 PM
For sale is this awesome watercooled mining rig, I'm selling as I'm trying to downsize.

£1,150 ono

No HDD included, but I could include a 500GB Seagate if you want.

I'll update with some hires pictures this week, here's a quick shot for reference with the cover off:

Info as follows:

Custom Built PC - Fully Water-Cooled with Premium EK Copper blocks and Top Of The Line External Radiator

Built by myself - water-cooling fully serviced by myself.

Look up how much these components all cost individually. I paid a lot more than they add up to, so it's a pretty good deal for anyone looking for a great watercooled miner or a monster gaming PC.

All in all, this adds up to over £2,000 when the parts were bought new.

Case
Coolermaster HAF-X (all fan's removed from inside of case - as everything is fully water-cooled)

Motherboard
Asus Rampage II Extreme (all chipsets water-cooled, including MOSFET, Northbridge + Southbridge)

CPU
Intel Core i7 920 D0 Stepping 2nd Gen Quad-Core overclocked can reach 4.2GHz (watercooled), is not currently overclocked as I only use it to mine with the GPUs.

GPU
X2 Sapphire 7950 OC both with EK water blocks, one copper and one nickel, the nickel comes with an EK backplate too  (see pictures)

RAM
12GB Corsair Dominator Triple Channel @ 1600MHz 1.65V (watercooled)

PSU
Hiper 880W Moduler PSU

Extra Peripherals
USB 3 front ports fitted (currently disconnected but easily reconnected)
Akasa Fan Control
LG Blu-Ray - HD DVD - CD/DVD Optical Drive fitte
Asus X-FI Supreme sound-card fitted with the motherboard in an independent PCI Slot (separate, see below)
PCI 300mbit Wireless card
USB Soundcard (good quality not the cheap little dongles you can get)

Water-Cooling
XPSC D5 Dual Bay Reservoir
XSPC Laing D5 Variable Speed Pump
Watercool MO-RA3 9x140 Pro External Radiator (9 silent 800RPM fans fitted into the Akasa Fan Control)
EK Waterblocks on the CPU - RAM - Motherboard MOSFET - Motherboard Chipsets
Aquatuning 19/13mm Black Nickel Plated Compression Fittings
Aquatuning Clear Transparent Tubing
EK Blood Red Coolant currently flowing, comes with 2 bottles of branded UV green coolant to replace as I will drain it for transport if requested.

(This water-cooling setup is a beast for anybody that know's their stuff in the water-cooling world)

Everything is in perfect condition. No faults or hidden breakages.

CPU hits around 38 degrees under full load. For anybody who is experienced in over-clocking will know that's a very good temperature under full load.

The 7950s run between 43-54c depending on the ambient temperature and settings.

There is one more slot on the motherboard for another card, though you would probably need to use a riser with how bulky the 7950s are with their water blocks.

Watercooling will be attached the the computer as it is, I can disconnect the radiator to drain ect for pickup or delivery.

It is to your own discretion whether you want to drain the water-cooling and re-assemble to after purchase.

I think I have covered everything - if you have any questions, just drop me a message or reply.

Pickup or delivery, delivery should be around £50-60.

If you're in London or the surrounding area I can deliver it myself potentially free depending on the distance.

75  Economy / Services / Looking for a Lawyer/Solicitor (European law) on: March 12, 2014, 09:18:46 AM
Hi,

I've been in touch with a big law firm, but I wanted to ask around to see if there are any solicitors or lawyers familiar with EU law that might be interested in taking on a case.

It's to do with a group buy organiser absconding with assets and not refunding. We have a lot of information collated, I've been spearheading the organisation of it.

Before I continue with my law firm, I'd love to hear from someone in the community that may be willing to take on the case.

Thanks.

Original post (edited for consistency):
I was in two minds to post this when Gox imploded, mainly because I have a large scale business plan that I wouldn't want tarnished by what might seen as opportune parasitism, so I put it off until now.

Personally I like the idea of commemorating (commiserating) the Gox debacle. And I'm a big proponent of lemons into lemonade. So who knows perhaps this is a cathartic process for me and my potential customers? And besides if people find this offensive, I can change the design.

With the great uncertainty upon us concerning MtGox, I was inspired to design and mint a commemorative coin of an event that which will no doubt go down as part of bitcoins rich and exciting history.

The coin's face primarily represents the uncertainty surrounding gox, with the now common slang term for gox's questionable actions. After much consideration the obverse will be blank- which I think is appropriate since for many hours Mtgox's website was nothing but a white screen. I will not go as far as to compare it to their balance sheet, as nobody truly knows the state of play at gox right now.

Perhaps gox's failure will go down as nothing but a blip. Perhaps it will be a point of contention for years to come. One thing is for sure though, wether it is an important event for us to look back on or not, it is surely  an important event right now for many of us.
Good or bad, as a community we should learn a lot from what has happened. While I have my own views and concerns of gox's failure I do feel it is important to remember our mistakes with our successes.

Will this usher in an influx of regulation? Is this a victory for the free-market or a catastrophic result of hubris or government intervention?
My idea is perhaps making these coins a present idea for someone new to crypto, a memento for those that saw this coming. A humble reminder for those that perhaps knew the risks and decided it  a risk worth taking.

These coins are NOT meant to poke fun at those unfortunate customers of Mtgox that have funds residing somewhere out there on gox's systems, hopefully in a cold wallet- after all I am one of them. I truly feel for friends and others that have lost significant amounts of coin. Nor is it meant to be a malicious lampoon of Mark Karpeles, but it is an acknowledgement of his involvement. It is in no way my aim to offend anyone.

They will be limited to a single mint run with no more than 500 coins being struck in the plated version and 500 of the silver version, each will contain a mint number card and the option for coin capsules will be added.

For payment I will accept any cryptocurrency, I will also setup a paypal in case people are not able to pay with cryptos. Alt-coins will be dealt with on a case by case basis should anyone wish to pay with a lesser known currency.

I'll accept the current exchange rate, which is why it is priced in £/$ while I'm not really interested in transacting in fiat, though I will if requested.

As to trust please check my profile and my rep thread is here, please check it out and if you are a customer, I'd love to hear what you think of the coins:

79  Economy / Computer hardware / [SOLD] Asus Maximus Extreme Motherboard Watercooled + Intel CPU + RAM on: February 18, 2014, 03:53:26 PM
This is a water-cooled motherboard (asus maximus extreme / roc edition) + Intel quad core Q9300. It would be perfect for anyone wanting to set up a nice little rig. Selling as I've finished one watercooled project and don't have time to start another currently.

I also have some RAM that works air cooled but is water cooled ready if you would like that as well (OCZ DDR3 4GB).

Comes with all the cables (SATA, USB, temperature ect..), tubing and tube connectors seen in the pictures, along with the optional CPU fan, though I believe a separate heatsink is needed to air cool the CPU. Also comes with original packaging and manuals.

Perfect for someone wanting to start out with watercooling or an experienced overclocker looking for a bargain.

It's in great condition and hasn't been used very much, some of the fins on one of the heat sinks are a tiny bit bent, but this does not affect it's use. Some of the on/off/reset pins are a little wonky, but simply need to be coaxed back into alignment and they are not loose.

Will accept cash, bank transfer, paypal or pretty much any cryptocurrency. BTC, LTC, DOGE, UNO or 42 preferred, but I'm open to any as I said.

Looking for a no hassle sale, so I can meet in Cambridge, Royston, Central London and Enfield depending on the time. Can also package it up securely and post via Royal Mail or Courier.

Looking for £50 + postage, the RAM will be extra which we can discuss.

Thanks!
