81  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Litecoin-QT no block source available? on: March 18, 2014, 11:03:47 PM
It says no source available and I am allowing it on my firewall. Any suggestions to get it to connect to the network? Hasn't been an issue in the past.

Edit: Issue resolved, just took an hour to find a block source I suppose..
82  Economy / Speculation / Lyth0s Bitcoin Price Trending and Speculation on: March 17, 2014, 02:05:08 AM
I will be using this thread to express my opinion and analysis on bitcoin price and anyone is free to make comments or add their on analysis to the discussion. Generally I'm bullish on long term bitcoin price and its useability in everyday transactions. However, I welcome both bulls and bears to this discussion as I feel it is important to keep a well balanced view on the topic.

Latest Predictions:
3/16/14 - I think bitcoin may drop to $566 this month before trending back up. Current March through July 2014 bitcoin prediction here.

83  Economy / Economics / Bitcoin Units Proposal on: March 02, 2014, 10:20:49 PM
When we speak about 1 bitcoin costing $560 dollars many people are immediately turned away from the idea of investing in it simply due to "I have to pay 560 bucks just to own 1!!! wow I can't afford that" type of scenario. To attract more investors I propose that when we speak about bitcoins or when we put a price tag on goods/services that we talk about milibits (0.001 bitcoins). Each milibit right now would currently be worth $0.56 (56 cents) and thus people could buy into bitcoin and own 170+ milibits for $100. On the flip side people don't want to spend $100 on 0.17 bitcoins (talking to the general population I've even come to find that people didn't even know that a person could own fractions of a bitcoin).

I know it's just a psychological game, but I think it has some merit when it comes to the general public.

I'd like to hear what everyone else thinks about the topic. Feel free to leave comments/suggestions below Smiley
84  Bitcoin / Armory / Synchronizing with Network 99% 0 blocks and states "Offline" on: March 02, 2014, 03:35:09 AM
Hello just like the title says my armory is stuck at Synchronizing with Network 99% 0 blocks and in the bottom right hand corner it says offline. I've ran Bitcoin-QT and the entire blockchain is downloaded and is up to date. Anyone have any advice how to fix this?
85  Economy / Computer hardware / Personal Bitcoin Mueseum - Need Old Miners on: March 01, 2014, 07:54:14 AM
So as the title says I'm starting my own personal (for now) bitcoin mueseum and I'm looking for old miners, starting from FPGA's and moving up to todays stuff. I'd like to pick up the items super cheap, even if it's no longer working that is still fine since I will simply be placing them in separate plastic-type clear boxes for display. I'm also looking for any caseius coins if you have them (spent is just fine)

Thanks for checking out my post and hope to hear from you all soon Smiley
86  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / cold storage via brainwallet.org on: February 26, 2014, 05:36:12 AM
Hello I have an offline pc that i used to generate a private/public BTC address. I then sent myself bitcoins to the offline address and I can confirm it is in there. Now my question is when I want to send a transaction from my offline pc (with brainwallet.org client javascript) how do I actually create the raw transaction data to send the transaction? My plan is to create the raw transaction on the offline pc, put it on a usb text file, then submit it to the block chain via blockchain.org.

My problem is that on the create transaction page from the brainwallet javascript I don't know what i have to do to be able to spend my unspent outputs or something along those lines...basically the client wants to access blockchain.info so it knows what to spend.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

91  Economy / Goods / Apple Ipad 2 16GB Black WIFI + ATT 3G Network on: November 19, 2013, 08:57:06 AM
So I'm looking to sell my black Ipad 2 with 16GB that has WIFI + 3G access with AT&T. It has been lightly used for reading purposes over the past 1 year. Total hours spent on it has been pretty minimal since I mainly use my laptop. The Ipad is scratch free and has the latest iOS update for it. It also comes with a case and a stylus pen. See links below for more info. I can post pictures if there are any serious buyers.

Ipad 2 16GB WIFI + 3g
M-Edge black and blue case - Also able to fold up to make a stand in two different ways for the ipad and has a stylus sheath inside

Amazon will straight up give me $190 for it. Brand new it is currently $498 so I'm looking for some amount in between, probably in the $250 area. With the USD/BTC conversion being all over the place recently lets talk prices in USD and then we can convert to BTC before payment is made.

92  Economy / Service Discussion / Brainwallet.org safe to use? on: November 11, 2013, 08:35:37 AM
So i'm considering using a brain wallet and I was wondering if anyone can take a look at brainwallet.org 's source code and tell me if it truly is all client side javascript? I'm curious to know if the site has any way to get/use the private keys I generate there? I know I can also download the source and run it locally (which I have done), but I already used a passphrase I would like to keep on their main website.

Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Under network activity on my web browser all I see is "get" upon page loads (and no activity when i enter a passphrase), which I believe means nothing was sent to their server...not sure though
93  Economy / Gambling / PHP Gambling Script on: October 20, 2013, 01:35:32 AM
Hello a few days ago I found some PHP scripts that were used to automate bets. For some reason I can't seem to find them at all today. Could anyone link the threads to me? (Yes I've tried forum search on PHP, martingale, RPC but I get wayyy to many results and none of them are the scripts I was looking for).

I want to write my own and It would be great to start with a solid backbone for logic and time saving purposes.

The amount of BTC I will pay you will depending on your website traffic and activity. Please respond in this post or via PM and I will get back to you ASAP.

My ads will be safe for work, non-rated R or anything like that. The type of ad I place will most likely be relevant to your website's content.
95  Bitcoin / Hardware / [WTB] BFL ASIC Products or other ASIC Hardware on: September 29, 2013, 11:43:10 PM
So with difficulty going up I'm looking to see if anyone is wanting to selling their BFL ASIC's for a reasonable price. I've boughten 1 other BFL 5GH on these forums via paypal (seller wanted paypal over BTC) with no issues.

Tell me what hardware you have and what price your asking via PM's. Remember that Blades are currently 3.1BTC per GH, aka $34/Gh so I'm looking to buy products cheaper than that.
96  Economy / Computer hardware / [Interest] Computer Hardware for BTC on: September 28, 2013, 09:42:17 PM
What kind of computer hardware would you guys like to see available on an online store (website) in exchange for BTC?

Or if not computer hardware, what other types of stuff would you like to see readily available for BTC?

I know there are already a good deal of BTC stores out there, but I'm just curious as to what people would actually buy with BTC instead of having to use cash or credit cards.
97  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Raspberry Pi USB hub with jala on: September 14, 2013, 10:53:56 PM
Hello, I currently have 2 Jalapenos running on a raspberry pi without any problems. My question is that if I want to add another jalapeno, do I need to get a powered usb hub or can it just be a hub that splits one of my pi usb ports into a hub? The reason why I ask this is because the jalapenos already have their own power supply, so it would seem although I wouldn't need the usb hub to be powered....but any insight would be much appreciated!
98  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Scrypt Mining Hardware on: September 14, 2013, 07:21:36 AM
Hello,
Since there is no "hardware" subforum under the altcoins topics I thought i'd ask this question here. I'm looking to possibly build a scrypt miner, probably for LTC or w/e the highest transfer rate to BTC per day would be (IE Franko or Anon coin etc). However, I've noticed that the power usage cuts down quite a bit on the revenue I would generate.

With that being said, can anyone give me an example build of a PC with graphics cards that would be efficient at mining scrypt coins? And estimate how much wattage it would use total? I've looked at the LTC mining hardware page, but I still don't know the most efficient builds in terms of initial cost, operation cost and hashing power (maybe even throw in some resell value Tongue  ).

I appreciate any help/advice or any path that people could point me in. Especially if you have an altcoin miner yourself Smiley I also love photos of the miners if you havent already posted it here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=7216.new#new
