1  Other / Off-topic / Only bears are true bitriots on: December 23, 2013, 10:31:48 PM
here check this idea out: i been doing a litle thinking lately and i come to the conclusion that only bears really care for the future of btc in the ideal sense. why?? because bulls are looking to get da moon right? if that happen and btc is $10k or $100k each then on the journey to that place, nobody doing the things that actually matter and why btc was created in the first place, ie spending on pizzas. this will kill btc as surely as someone finding a way to reverse the hash. bears on the other hand want price to come down, and by doing many good things happen: peeps will buy more pizzas, other peeps might want to "buy a little btc" to try it out a bit, shops and commerce will be more comfortable dealing and pricing in btc. so we bears are the "right side" ha har  Cool
2  Economy / Speculation / We are at "THE" ATH on: December 22, 2013, 11:26:50 AM
so i woke up this morning and while scratching me nuts i had a epiphany come on. bear with me now (har ha) as i explain. about 15 years ago i got involved myself in this company called AMWAY. some you may know about this but the point I want to make is that everybody who was IN thought that it would change completly the world of marketing and commerce and retailing. AMWAY was gonna rewrite the script and rip new assholes for walmart etc. you saw what happend. NOTHING and i mean NOTHING would dampen the enthusion felt by the amwayers.

ok, ok i getting to me point soon. the reason that AMWAY fell away is not because its because of its busness model (though some peeps would take me up on that), but that the GENRAL PUBLIC are simultanously thich AS PIGSHIT to understand the concept,  TOO LAZY to change habits and too annoygingly SKEPTICAL to believe what they were being told. nothing in the 15 years since has changed my opinin of the public.

What if, WHAT IF, we are not more or less at the maximum number of bitcoiners that there will ever be??? remember, when I was in AMWAY, everybody TOTALLY BELIEVED that in 10 years from then, 1 in 5 people were going to be in AMWAY. how wrong that was,

what if indeed we are in the terminus population size? (holding steady as a few new peeps come in to replace those leaving). what possible scope is there for it to go much higher than now? could this be your last chances to feel like a BOSS 5 years from now as bitcoin stays the same size as it is now.

Think it possible that the general public will really use bitcoin, you'd bet your life on it? been in AMWAY before?

4  Economy / Speculation / Task for bears on: December 18, 2013, 05:30:36 PM
I remember back in the April '13 crash that in the aftermath, there was a great post from somebody who had a lot of coin but didn't sell at $150. The post was very philosophical and talked about forgetting about the lost opportunity and getting on with life. Those who read it will definitely remember it.

Question: has any of you got a link to that post? That will out the strong hands yip yip
5  Economy / Speculation / Sunk in the South Sea by Chinese iceberg on: December 05, 2013, 12:14:08 PM
"She's going down by the head cap'n". Check this out comparing btc to the South Sea bubble. South Sea stock had a meteoric rise like btc and promptly fell 90%.

8  Economy / Service Discussion / Bitcoin Central Problem on: April 22, 2013, 09:05:26 PM
Anybody here have a bitcoin-central account. When I log on today there is a change of terms of service notice and when I click accept it just takes me to a white screen. I can't login to do anything. Anybody else have this problem? Thanks.
9  Economy / Speculation / the "just in case" crowd on: April 14, 2013, 10:52:26 AM
I think that the rise from here on is going to be more difiicult that the last one from $30 to $260 because of this. there are many who bought from $30 to $260 who might think at various points to lock in at least part of their profits between here and $260 "just in case" there is another crash. You know, peeps who were multimillionaires when price was $260 but thought it was going to $500 and also those locked out from mt gox who tried but couldn't to get out. there will be many price points between here and there were there will be a lot of selling pressure that wasn't there during the first run. are you going to cash out at least some of your btc "just in case"?
10  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / How secure is Bitcoin-qt wallet? on: October 16, 2012, 09:17:47 AM
I'm trying to ascertain empirically how secure the bitcoin-qt local wallet is. Forget the brain wallets and paper wallets for now. From the amount of paranoia on these forums, a newbie would think that bitcoin thefts are a high risk event that happens to every other user.
11  Other / Beginners & Help / Day 3 on here and things I learnt so far... on: September 11, 2012, 08:13:06 AM
1. The crowd here are really friendly and there doesn't seem to be too many eejits like on other non-bitcoin forums.
2. People here are really helpful to newbies or is that just because we is in the newbies section. Average IQ seems high.
3. People are excited about something  Wink
4. These forums seem to be the focal point for this entire (nascent) industry.
12  Other / Beginners & Help / Question about BTC and other currencies on: September 10, 2012, 07:00:45 PM
Hihi, I have a noob question. Is there an estimate of the total value of hard, real world currencies that have ever been swapped for BTC. I imagine it is a lot lower than multiplying $11 by the total number of bitcoins in circulation.
13  Other / Beginners & Help / Similarity to VHS/Betamax on: September 09, 2012, 08:58:40 PM
Hihi, I'm old enough to remember when VHS tapes came on the scene. In the first couple of years, they were very expensive to purchase and the only content that was on them was soft porn. In fact, had it not been for the porn industry the widespread adoption of videotapes would have been delayed for much longer. Just comparing to bitcoins and the relative size of the black/illicit markets. Maybe without these players, the widespread adoption of bitcoin might be delayed too. Just thinking.
