Economy / Services / WTF Escrow Service - Now available - 1% fee.
|
on: November 07, 2013, 10:11:06 PM
|
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1
I am going to start offering my services as an escrow. I charge a fee of 1% for most transactions. If the escrow is complicated or something else, discuss rates before hand.
Before sending any coins, you should have a signed contract from me explaining the terms of the escrow and everyone's understanding along with an address to send to. The address will be unique on a per transaction basis.
I do have a public escrow address that can be used: 1WTFV9vniBMhuhDtXWVYttMpUzZqXrwbq
If you use the public address you MUST have the capability to sign messages from the address that the coins are sent to so that your funds can be verified. Otherwise, coins will be refunded to where they were sent.
PM me if you would like to discuss. Messages may be encrypted if desired with my public key. If encrypting, I assume you wish the same of your messages so please include your public key for such communications or if you are signing your messages.
I plan to keep this first message unedited so that you can see the message and everything else has remained unchanged. I will reserve the second post for any updates or other information that may come up.
I have been an active participant in the community since 2012. I used to offer iPhone unlocks and have many good transaction feedback from the service (however, currently my unlock source is offline due to AT&T changes! Darn it!)
I've had many misc. transactions on the forum and look forward to helping make your transactions safe. If you're spending your coins, why would you do it without escrow when it's so cheap?
Do not accept an escrow deal from anyone saying it is through unless it came from me and is signed by me! If I change a deposit address, the address will be SIGNED inside the message!
If there were to be any disputes, I will release funds to the party providing the most compelling evidence or as otherwise agreed to by both parties.
I will provide my email address by private message if desired.
My Public Key:

Other / Off-topic / Can you DDoS a VPN server?
|
on: April 10, 2013, 03:38:14 PM
|
I'm not looking to do anything illegal.
Can a VPN service like say the one provided by Private Internet Access be DDoS attacked? If the only port they have opened on a server is an OpenVPN port, no http, mail, or anything else, can it be DDoSed? Would this make it so their customers could not connect to the VPN and utilize the service?
If I wanted to try it in person, set up my own VPN server and DDoS it, are there simple legitimate DDoS services or methods or are they all black market?
MODs feel free to move this if I screwed up where I should put this.

Economy / Digital goods / [WTS] Firstbits and Private Key for 1JGARZIK
|
on: February 16, 2013, 01:53:39 AM
|
Yes, yes, I can hear people complaining already. But I really have it and I really will sell it if someone is interested. In fact, for some reason in 2011 I decided I wanted all the first bits for everything and I actually have over 20,000 first bits of common first names, business names, common words, etc. Some more details about the product. The first bits are actually 1jgar but the vanity address is 1jgarzik http://blockchain.info/fb/1jgarFull address is 1JGaRziKizyk1HNRgjqQWZedDBxT2DNeF8 Current balance is 1 satoshi to reserve the firstbits back in 2011. To prove that I have control over it, I have signed the following message: wtfvanity currently controls the 1JGaRziKizyk1HNRgjqQWZedDBxT2DNeF8 BTC Address and private key HEOtdrhjpzRMslvMPfAvvvt4T1yfYnRuwY0qfVUBMrDuGBH9GhohUPtxF1dF2LjO7mgvbQ82FA3IoMzUhaIs/Gc= For those that may not know, 1JGarzik didn't get his firstbits and is a lead developer of Bitcoin and is now famous for being the only person with an ASIC mining machine from Avalon raking in the dough. I will delete the private key and dump the key from my wallet. HOWEVER, that being said, accepting coins at this address would be extremely risky. If I were dishonest, any funds at any time available at this address could be taken. I guess more than anything it could be used as a conversation starter, or some very basic Bitcoin memorabilia. Alright, go ahead and roast me And MODS... if this isn't allowed, please get rid of it. If you want it in a different subforum, please move it. It really isn't a good or a service and I don't know that anyone has tried to sell one before.

Economy / Scam Accusations / Trying to gauge victims of potential WalletBit class action
|
on: February 03, 2013, 03:23:28 PM
|
For those that participated in the adventures yesterday trying to get into the Avalon batch #2 preorder, there were all kinds of fun things that happened. I consulted with an attorney yesterday about bring a class action about the matter. After much discussion, although Avalon had screw ups on their part, a suit against them isn't as easy or would be something the attorney would be very interested in. However, the details surrounding WalletBit's duties and breeches, along with potential losses from users is much more real and something the attorney would consider taking on contingency depending on the size of the class.
So, not as an offer of legal advice or promise of representation, how many people are there that made it through the shopping cart, to WalletBit and ended up paying a small amount? The attorney likes the fact that Avalon push a valid token to WalletBit for the correct USD, and WalletBit showed a small amount, usually just a couple of USD to pay. They have now said that instead of honoring those payments or requesting the rest of the dollar amount that they are instead only refunding those amounts.
The goal as part of the class action would be, A, you made a payment of a smaller amount to get in on the preorder. And B, because of the refund, you then fail on round 2 part 2 to get into Avalon's batch 2. The damages against WalletBit would be for loss mining revenue due to increased difficulty by getting a later order. Although difficult to calculate, attorney's always seem to come up with a number.
The potentially also as part of the suit, would be those that made it to WalletBit, and did not send an incorrect low USD value of BTC because it was obviously wrong. These cases would be harder to prove and things like screenshots may be helpful in being included in the class.
The attorney would like to see a class size of at least 1,000 people. Maybe that is a realistic number, maybe not. If you would post that you're interested or send me a private message let's just see where we are at. Obviously everyone that tried won't post or private message but we will be able to subpoena their records to get the full client transactions but I'm not entirely sure if those include name and addresses on WalletBit's side or not. The way that Bitcoin works will surely make this interesting.
The other thing is if the class size is only around 500 and those 500 people all are able to get into batch #2 still, they wouldn't be part of the class.
I'm sad how things happened, and have ignored ASIC's as much as I could until I saw that Jeff had one in his hands. Now I've got mining fever again!

I am obviously a newb... and cannot PM or respond in his thread that is here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=84569.80I found a reward, and it won't award it to me.
