Economy / Computer hardware / WTS ; Are Tahiti cards still used ? or 1060 6gb
|
on: March 25, 2020, 06:03:10 AM
|
got a hold of small gaming kit with a few 7950 and 7970 and one 1060. Are these still usable for anything ? Can you mine with them or is there any interest in buying ? What are people buying these days and what are these cards worth ? If anything just for gaming.

Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Withdrawals for Canadians ? Life after quadrigacx
|
on: August 24, 2019, 09:51:54 PM
|
Forgive me if this is the wrong forum but I see nothing else about exchanges here.
What is everyone doing to get their BTC to the bank in Canada ? or at least to your visa/mastercard ?
I used to use quadrigacx but noticed they recently went bust and the only other place in Canada I can find has horrible reviews and is asking for things like "take a picture of yourself" .. I think I'll stop taking BTC before I send another one of these scam outfits my picture. Any tips would be helpful. I only get about $500 - $1000 /yr in coins.

I have a bunch of 2GB DDR2 dimms for desktops. I have a few singles and some matched pairs as well.
I'll sell a matched pair for $30 CAD + shipping
I have a few 4gb DDR3 as well but I'm not sure what those are going for right now. I see $35 on newegg for some cheap brands.
Canada only, sorry Americans your prices are generally 50% cheaper anyway

Economy / Computer hardware / Any demand for a 486 DX Laptop IBM thinkpad 701c
|
on: April 19, 2017, 05:40:57 PM
|
I have an old 701c that I've been storing for ages. It has the butterfly tab and the battery even works. The keyboard is mint and looks like it was never used. I've had it for close to 15 years.
Any interest in this here ?? They seem to go on ebay for ridiculous prices and often sell for $200-$400 depending on condition.

|
on: November 28, 2016, 03:30:37 PM

Used briefly for mining last summer. Regular video card before that, never gamed. Just fired it up again with some new ethereum forks and it ran fine all weekend.
Original box with all accessories, 2 molex cables, 1 crossfire, 1 DVI-VGA adapter, probably a CD or DVD which I never used.
$100 CAD picked up at my door
$20 flat if shipping
escrow, international, pay later, paypal, negotiators, USA orders = sorry

Economy / Computer hardware / Antminer S3 Controller board
|
on: May 29, 2016, 04:40:27 PM
|
Parted one out and have a spare controller board.
$15 US $20 CAD
includes free shipping letter mail
these are low value now and there is no sense paying for better shipping. Letter mail will arrive in 1-2 weeks to most places.
Canada / USA only
International add $5 and letter mail might take 1-2 months because they sense something is in it and send it by surface.

Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / How do ** you ** run ETH-PROXY ?
|
on: May 26, 2016, 07:02:55 PM
|
Here is a topic that isn't discussed often. Eth proxy and when and how to run it.
I'm not looking for help because I already run it, instead I'd like to get an idea of how you guys run eth proxy and at what point does it make sense to run eth proxy on it's own and for what numbers of miners.
With one or two miners running EP on each server makes sense. But what about after 3-6 or let's say 20 miners. Does it makes sense to run one proxy and point all local miners to it ? How do you guys do it and what is a safe number of miners to point at one proxy.
I'll start off by explaining how I do it.
At home I run two miners with their own EP each and a third miner which is just a test box doesn't run EP and points to Miner 1 for access. At another location up north where I have a couple of hundred MH/S and poor internet access I'm running them 2 for 1 but would like to change that as it grows.
So let's hear from people on how you run EP with your rigs.

Bought a bunch of S3 a few months ago and this is the left overs from defective / dodgy units.
Hashing board S3 Excellent workers / from S3 with bad controller .. all hashing 460+ and cool around 40c
No heatsinks as it would not make sense to ship heatsinks when the board is only 230gm.
3 Available
- $20 USD /ea + shipping
or $25 CAD or 0.045 BTC ----------------

Economy / Computer hardware / FS: Antminer S3 hashing board
|
on: March 17, 2016, 02:41:15 PM

Perfectly working
From a parted out S3
I can only ship this within Canada due to the size and weight of the heatsinks.
You can pick up in Toronto for $20 cash or if it needs shipping expect around $15+
I can also remove the heatsinks if buy wants to reduce weight. In that case about $10 shipping.
Please make sure you actually have a defective hashing board, I have seen some of these where it was the controller that was faulty.
