21  Economy / Service Discussion / Bitstamp withdrawals not processing on: April 09, 2014, 03:20:57 AM
Has anyone been able to withdraw from Bitstamp since the Heartbleed issue?

I have some withdrawals during the time of the login block and these are now marked as "Failed".

I have re-initiated withdrawals after the login reopened but these have been "Waiting to be processed" for about 4 hours...
22  Economy / Service Discussion / Looking for exchange alpha testers [1BTC Prize] on: April 02, 2014, 12:13:50 AM
UPDATE:

Alpha test competition is now completed and the 3 winners were randomly selected (usernames masked for privacy):

1st prize winner: j*******ez
2nd prize winner: r******id
3nd prize winner: t********70

UPDATE:

Only 10 days left for this alpha test; we've been adding lots of features to the site based on some great feedback.

But still would love to get some more stress testing done.  There is a leaderboard of traders after you login so that you can check if you are currently in the top 10 with a chance at winning.

Exchange URL: https://exchange.bitcoin.co.th

A big thanks to all the alpha testers...you guys have provided great data and feedback for fixing and upgrading our trading system.

In order to more fairly distribute the prize and to encourage more volume in test trades we are changing the contest format a bit.

The top 10 traders by trade count will be placed into a lottery pool.  We will draw 3 winners on May 5th.   Prizes will be (same total prize):
1st Prize:  0.7BTC
2nd Prize:  0.2BTC
3rd Prize:  0.1BTC

We will be resetting the balances, but all your previous trades will still count towards your total trade count at the end of the contest.
The new balance values will better reflect the value of each coin so that each coin can be validly traded.

The system will also be switching to a public alpha and entry passwords have been removed.

* If you are seeing a 0 balance please log-out and log back in to get your new reset balance coins *

I got a laugh out of this quote:

“Gox is the worst-run business in the history of the world,” said Roger Ver, in an instant message interview

Wait what was that:

I'm trying to connect directly (using PHP) to Electrum servers to receive a list of a transactions for an address or mpk in general.

What format do requests need to be sent to an electrum server in order to retrieve data?

(Not literate in python so not able to easily glean this from the source)

27  Economy / Scam Accusations / Technobit.eu / Marto74 BFL-Style SCAMMER on: January 04, 2014, 12:51:49 AM
Place an order on http://technobit.eu at beginning of December for an "in stock" avalon gen2 board which specifically stated "December Shipment".

Seeing as Avalon 55nm chips are readily available for purchase and the boards were supposed in stock, and there were posts of people actually having these boards delivered; this seemed a low risk purchase.

Product was not shipped in December; and now technobits and marto74 are non-responsive to my requests for a refund.

There are droves of other people in a similar situation where their order has not been shipped; meanwhile technobits are happily accepting new orders, but now basically pushing into a pre-order model where you have to order months in advance of shipment.

A few references to others that have not received any products either (these are just a few, but barely scratches the surface of complaints):

There also seem to provide some people with bogus tracking numbers:

In short; STAY AWAY FROM TECHNOBITS; THEY WILL EITHER STRAIGHT UP STEAL YOUR MONEY, OR SEND YOU A MINER MONTHS AFTER EXPECTED IT AND NO WHERE NEAR ROI

29  Economy / Speculation / Tapering; affect on bitcoin on: December 19, 2013, 03:16:42 AM
It appears the FED has been able to successful announce a $10Bil taping (cut in bond buying stimulus) and the markets did not crash.

Many in the bitcoin world; including myself; doubted that the FED would be able to pull back stimulus without negative impact.

Will this be a further blow to the bitcoin prices.

Speculate...

35  Economy / Scam Accusations / Please remove Chaang Noi (Goat) or BadBear from default trust list on: November 11, 2013, 06:02:18 AM
I notice to today I have a message next to my name: "Warning: Trade with extreme caution!"

As it appears Goat is now on the default trust list, despite that fact that he completely abuses the "trust" feedback, leaving negative feedback for just about anything he doesn't like (basically using "negative trust" as a "dislike")

Examples of negative trust he has left for me (keep in mind that I have never had or attempted to have any business/trading deals with Goat):
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;u=73389

Claim 1: With this claim he also claims that he "risked 1BTC" with me:

Lied about Bitcoin being illegal in Thailand. Claimed to be a media source. do not trust this guy with anything he says, never trust him with BTC

Claim 2: He makes another distrust rate about the same issue:

His wife runs the now closed and suspected scam site bitcoin.th.co

PM me for info if you need to file a claim with the Royal Thai Police.

A) The site is bitcoin.co.th

B) It's not a scam site, and the business is still in operation, business is still in good standing

The fact that one individual on the forum can dislike a topic, and then make it so that every single bitcointalk users seeing by default that "Warning: Trade with extreme caution!" is crazy.  If you look through Goat's negative trust feedbacks for other users you can clearly see he as a recent history of abusing the feedback system.

I don't mind if anyone leaves me totally unfounded bullshit feedback, but when that is instantly visible in red next to any thing I post that crosses the line.

38  Bitcoin / Mining support / Calculate mining stats on: August 02, 2013, 03:31:45 PM

40  Economy / Service Discussion / Namecheap now accepting 0 confirmations on: July 24, 2013, 01:07:41 PM
Used to be namecheap required 6 confirmations which was kind of a frustration when you wanted to buy a domain, as you'd have to deposit bitcoins, come back an hour or so later to pay.

But it appears they now process 0 confirmation payments, so you can deposit bitcoins and checkout right away.

Nice one. Grin
