I usually buy pre-filled Visa gift cards in order to shop on the fiat websites, but the problem is that the top up value of the cards is only in the multiples of 5. So, after the required purchase I end up having few bucks left in the card. What is the least expensive way to convert that USD back to BTC?

So, I was developing a Decentralized application with the main focus of making the transaction to a particular organization transparent, using tokens. But the major problem I encountered was the inability of users to even buy the tokens in countries where such transactions are illegal as of now.
Basically, I just want to track a user_id with the transaction that they have made using our smart contract in solidity.
Is there a way to achieve this?
I was planning on using a way to have such information in each of the transactions made by such users (Not by their Addresses but through our smart contract.)
At one point I also thought of using a mapping between the user_id and the txn_hash, but it was not possible to incorporate txn hash as txn don't get confirmed before that.

I have just started trading and was looking for some platform to keep track of my trades to see if I made profits or losses in the long run. There are some portfolio managers, but they just track the different crypto coins and their current prices.
Is there any such tool or just google sheets that you are aware of that might be of help to me?

I only trade in crypto coins but few of my friends who are interested in joining the crypto community ask how to convert the coins earned into 'real' money. I didn't need to convert them atm so I am unaware of the same.
What's the most convenient way to do so? I guess local bitcoins? Are there any automatic exchanges left that can directly transfer to the bank account or any other INR wallets?

Just came to know that a wallet is capable to generate a lot more address than 20 or 30. I would like to know is there a limit to how many bitcoin public keys be generated using one seed phrase. Is it unlimited? If it's not limited then this would mean that wallets with different seeds would cause a clash of their addresses. Am I right?

I was planning to lurk the forum to see what all is going around by going through posts on the "Recent Posts" page ( https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=recent). The majority of the posts encountered were just bounty reports by the bounty hunters, nothing constructive. Is there a way to exclude some boards or choose the boards from where to view the recent posts? There may be a URL addition that I might be not aware.

You all might be knowing that Steam used to accept payments in bitcoin through BitPay, but they abruptly stopped it stating the price volatility of bitcoin to be the issue. Stablecoins eliminates this very issue, could this encourage Steam or other companies like Amazon, etc. to start incorporating cryptocurrencies into their payment systems. Is it possible some stablecoin might outperform bitcoin regarding this?

Recently, I was managing a signature campaign and there were few slots open just for the Member ranks, but many higher-level users like Full Member and Hero were requesting me to consider their applications and they would be satisfied with the lower pay according to the Member rank.
Is it acceptable to put higher-level users in competition with lower ones for a spot in the signature campaign? I declined to address such requests, but what if I don't get any applications from good quality posters for the member spot is it then right to choose from higher accounts?
Would really like to hear what you do with your campaigns in such a scenario.

I see that most of the exchanges have quite a high fees for withdrawing bitcoins into our wallets. Though if one withdraws Ethereum, then the fees are just 1/10th as compared to bitcoin's. I would like to know the best strategy to acquire bitcoins from exchanges without paying hefty fees.
What's the exchange with least bitcoin withdrawal fee? Also, is it better if I withdraw to ETH or any other coin with low fee and find some trader on the forum to exchange it for Bitcoins, eliminating the exchange's fee?

I remember that the earlier posted images in a thread could not be viewed while on the preview/reply page. We used to get: (img link)(FORUM: disabled on this page for security.)
First of all what was the security concern regarding displaying images on a webpage and secondly is the security issue fixed in the forum that now we are able to view the images?

So, recently my personal laptop's hard drive got corrupted and all my data was lost, including private keys for my wallet. ...thankfully I already had a secure backup of them and no coins were lost.
Here I am sharing my technique to beginners so they can back up their private keys the same way I did.
Many of the users might be storing the keys/seed in some written form but physical damage to paper might lead to loss of your funds.
Here's how I do it:
1. Edit an image using notepad, paste the seed in between. 2. Add it to a .zip file and encrypt it by setting a password. 3. Create a new Gmail account and set up 2-factor authentication. Upload .zip file to Google Drive. 4. Remember this account's password, and Never use it. NEVER. Don't save to any password manager, just remember. 5. That's it, you got yourself a secure online backup for your keys.
Don't repeat the password in any step, or else this method might become useless.
I don't know if this is optimal or not, but comments are appreciated.

Being involved in crypto space for quite some time now, I have seen the price going up and down a numerous times. I plan to try out trading to try my luck.
What I am looking forward to is if there are any exchanges that enable us to trade BTC/USD without the need to link a USD Bank account. I want to be able to keep my USD funds on the exchange itself (I am aware that it's not recommended to keep funds on exchange) and trade as normal. I would be just withdrawing the funds in crypto as the time comes.
Do enlighten me regarding this.
I don't want to trade between the cryptocurrencies because almost the entire crypto market follows the trend that Bitcoin takes on (more or less).

I just came to be aware of a new concept (to me) in the crypto space called Decentralized Finance (DeFi). It aims to offer the services of classic financial institutions through smart contracts and blockchain. One of the use cases is to earn interest, as one would expect in a bank.
I just want to know your critical views whether one should involve is such or not. Would like to know if anyone of you used such platforms? Many hodlers' coins keep on lying and this might be an additional source of income for them.
Ps: I am not talking about any Ponzi's that claim to multiply your deposits.

I received the following email: By no means, it looks like an official mail from the forum. Even the link is a fake one too. It redirects to a clone of the forum. The phishing site as I received it is: (DON'T VISIT) http://www.martynparry.com.au/index/?topic=5169902.0&u=apoorvlathey It is not sure who might be behind this scam. Most probably the scammers are using hacked email list to send out these emails because my account once got hacked in the past. Not aware if anyone else received the mail or not. /Edit: Another case of sharing this phishing site, this time via personal message: Make sure you don't click PM links coming from naufalbashar scammer. He's using special character г which looks like r
He's PMing people requesting clicking on a phishing website to "reply to him"
Phishing website is currently hosted on www. martynparry. com.au/index/?topic=3243635.0 (DO NOT GO THERE OR LOGIN WITH YOUR BITCOINTALK ACCOUNT, IT'S A PHISHING WEBSITE!!!)
I have already reported him to bitcointalk staff and to website admins as well (looks like legit website has been hacked and added fake phishing forum)

What happened:: The user 'digwill' made a post on the services section regarding the need of an indian for wuick job. I was on mobile so without viewing his past history I contacted him. The task was to shoot a video of indian currency notes(Rs.10,20,50,100,500) with plain background. Our communication took place on telegram after I pmed him on the forum. After I sent him the recordings of Rs.10 and Rs.500 notes, I waited for him to send the payment so that I could send him the rest. The next day, I couldn't find him on telegram, he had deleted his account. He is regularly online on the forum, but is not replying to my pm's. PS: I did the work, he deleted telegram account, no communication and payment after that. According to a recent bill's draft: "India has proposed a jail term of one to ten years for those who mine, hold or sell cryptocurrencies."
I was wondering how someone could say that 'A' is holding 'X' amount of bitcoins in his address 'Y'. What if the person generated the wallet and learned the passphrase leaving behind no physical evidence of the ownership of the address. At that point, it would just be an address with a balance on the blockchain ledger. Or if he just made the backup of private keys on a paper and destroyed it upon inspection (having a backup somewhere else). How is the government going to track down who's holding at what address? That's just stupid.
Similarly, they can't impose a ban on mining as it is just a computer software and blockchain protocol cannot be blocked by the government.
What do you think? Would the govt. be able to catch someone who violates this?
