Hi all,
I have to go AWOL for a while.
Need to work a solid 3 months or more on some non-bitcoin stuff, and unfortunately the whole bitcoin scene is too distracting (I love it!).
If you really need to reach me, you can email admin@ [any of my domains].
Cheers, back soon.

First person to tell me the next line in this sequence gets 0.2 BTC. I'll keep adding extra lines until someone figures it out. aaaaaaaaaa aaaaaaaaaa eororororo aaaaaaaaaa ororororor
Maybe easy, maybe hard, I'm not sure.

Hi,
I know you can set up a JSON RPC connection remotely, but I'm wondering if anyone has mapped the RPC functions to a web service yet? Specifically in PHP?
The advantage being that each client wouldn't get the main JSON username/password, but just a secondary password that they would use for the web service, so that different rules/permissions could apply to each user. (eg daily withdrawal limit, limit withdrawals to a specific list of addresses, etc).
Would anyone else find this useful?

For those merchants that are keeping a wallet.dat on a hosted server, how do you get around (or not care about) the trust issue of hosting company employees getting your wallet.dat?
Is there any way to set it up so that the host can't actually get to it?
(eg. by keeping the wallet.dat on your home PC and somehow connecting your websites to it via JSON? ...in that case, the host could still see your JSON password and do a 'sendfrom')
My only step so far has been to get my bitcoin directory on their 'exclude' list for their automated backups... so at least the wallet.dat shouldn't be getting copied elsewhere. (I back it up manually to my home pc).

Hi everyone, I've finally got a new game online... please check it out. Basically, you try to guess the combination to the safe and if you open it, you win 7 times your bet (Min/Max bet is 0.01/1.00 BTC). Each game is 100% verifiable (The combination to the safe is chosen before you play, and an MD5 displayed). Thanks, Alex

Sorry I don't know where else to post this... it's the fastest I've ever seen new blocks coming in... 10 of them just in the last 30 minutes! If you're quick you can catch the 10 spots on http://bitcoinmonitor.com

Just noticed this on bitcoinhop.com: The site was hacked and will not be returning online. If you were awaiting a payment, please send an email to bitcoinhop@gmail.comwith details about your account/item. Does anyone have any further info? Seems strange that they will 'not be returning'.

From here: http://www.dncrunch.com/?p=12224 It’s interesting to note some sales of domains based on the hot startup BitCoin as well — Bitcoin.de and bitcoins.de for 29,750 EUR total. Yes, very interesting to note

Hi all.
Can anyone recommend me a good Android phone.
I used an iphone for a few years and really liked it, but it died about a year ago and i've been using an old brick from the 80's ever since.
So it's time to get a new one, but in the last year I've really gone sour on Apple and Jobs and everything I've read about the appstore = bad.
So it seems I might get an HTC Desire HD, it looks pretty cool, anyone here own one?
Cheers, Alex
p.s. No need to take service providers into account; I have a SIM and will just be buying a phone outright.

I had this in my signature for a while... I'm putting my signature back to normal now, but thought I'd leave this in a post somewhere...

Hi,
I'm wondering if someone has coded a simple bitcoin address validator for PHP that works without a connection to bitcoind.
I thought I had one, but now I can't seem to find it.
Thanks, Alex

I just posted this (2nd) message in the MyBitcoin support area, since I still haven't received a reply yet from my first message: Hi,
A couple of weeks ago I wrote a message here asking about a double payment that I made accidentally.
The merchant that I made the payment to said that it doesn't go to their account and that I need to ask you for it.
The payments were for 10 BTC each and they went to: 1BaCUcLv9MUcDjNUEfAr6qbVXQmEoQ7c1z
Please return one of them as it was a duplicate payment.
Thanks Anyone else ever had luck contacting MyBitcoin.com?

Do you think 1 BTC will be worth 200 USD at some point this year?

I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post NSFW stuff here, but here goes... Bitcoin Babes - bitcoinbabes.com (That's the text-only version of the banner; There's a sexier banner at http://bitcoinbabes.com/images/bitcoinbabes2.png) Not much to explain about this site... anyone can view all the thumbnails, multiple pages, then if you want to view an image full size it's 0.01 btc. There are zero confirmations required on your spend, so your balance should update in just a few seconds usually. It only has 20 or so pics at the moment, but if there are no issues with it over the next 24 hours, I'll be uploading a couple of thousand. Enjoy!

Hi,
I'd like to buy around 50 BTC for AlertPay.
These are *pure* AlertPay funds already in my account and cleared, they do not come from a credit card.
My AlertPay account has been verified for over a year, and they have scans of my passport and utility bills.
I'll pay Mt Gox price.
Thanks, Alex

Hi, I don't even know if this is possible but it seems like it should be... I'd like to build a 'building block' of html which will then be reused in multiple places in my page. So let's say i have the following which I'd like to class as 'atom': .atom { width:1px; height:1px; background-color:red; }
Then have another class called a 'molecule'... Is it possible to define each molecule as containing exactly 3 atoms, without specifically hard-coding 3 atoms into every molecule div? Then later what if I want to have: <div class='goo'> </div> ...which automatically displays 100 molecules. So then after my CSS is set up, the HTML to display 300 atoms would simply be: <html> <body> <div class='goo'> </div> </body> </html>
Is that possible? How to do it? Thanks

I couldn't find this in a forum search...
What is the difference exactly between greyed out transactions and black ones?
Obviously transactions with 1 or more confirmations are black, but it's the 0/unconfirmed ones that I'm unsure about because there can be both colours.
With the latest 2 transactions in my client at the moment, both are 0/unconfirmed, both are for 0.01, yet one is black and one is grey.

The "NEW" button next to each title is really handy, but I think that button should also be at the top of each thread somewhere.
If you accidentally click the title of a thread instead of the new button, there's no way to then jump to the new posts with first clicking the back button, then hitting the new button.
