1  Economy / Gambling / CryptoBetfair.com | 100% Provably Fair | More than a casino, a community. on: June 21, 2015, 05:32:53 PM

More than a casino, a community.

After two years in the crypto gaming sphere, we are very proud to announce that the new and improved https://cryptobetfair.com is open to the public. The entire site has been developed from scratch by our team. We offer 3 different games (Dice, Wheel Spin, and Coin Drop) with more to follow and a large selection of coins to choose from.  We offer many unique features you wont find in any other crypto gaming site.  CBF was made by involved members of the crypto community, with the community in mind. This isn't some script leased out from a giant company that only cares about fiat profits, or a fly by night investment site hosted by newcomers.  We have been here for years with a great reputation, and are here to stay.

Most importantly the Cryptobetfair lounge is a place for the crypto community to connect,  and stay up to date on current prices.

Our games are beautiful, fast and mobile friendly, developed by us over years of experimentation and feedback from the community. We have gone to great lengths to make these games perfect.

We have also introduced an affiliate program which has many advantages over standard methods.  Like our provably fair system and our voucher system or anything on the site, this has been built from the ground up.   We always seek to innovate, not clone.

Our new affiliate system works as follows:

If you sign up WITH a referral link (it can be your own) you will immediately qualify for a 2.5% refund on losses over a 24 hour period.

If someone signs up with YOUR referral link you will immediately qualify for a 7.5% cut of that person's losses over a 24 hour period.

Why did we do this?

We thought we would give something to the person signing up via a referral link.

This gives a bigger incentive to the person signing up via a referral link.

What it means for us.

It means we are potentially giving 10% of all our profits back to the users, with all parties benefiting from the promotion

All of our games are provably fair.  We go above and beyond other "provably fair" websites.  We have taken "fair" to the next level to eliminate cheating, and and make every bet verifiable.  We have taken the typical provably fair system and made some advancements. We have created what we believe is the most provably fair system in the crypto gambling industry.  We welcome review of our system and advancements, and encourage other sites to adopt our methods to ensure 100% fair play.

To learn more about our provably fair method take a look here:   https://cryptobetfair.com/provably-fair.html

Or look at our verification code: https://cryptobetfair.com/d/i/verifybet.php?showyourself=pygmentize

Please stop by chat and say hi for some free coins to test!

6  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / 7970 thermal paste replacement on: June 19, 2013, 06:11:24 PM
My Sapphire 7970 has been a PAIN in the ass ever since I got it.  I switched over to LTC a few weks ago, and it took me forever to get the hash rate up to 725 kh/s.  Once I finally got that sorted out, my temps started to become a problem.  When I first started mining ltc, my temps were around 75-80c. The temp slowly kept rising till they were in the 85-87c range!  I had the side of my pc open and a box fan blowing right on the card, and it helped a little at first, but then the temps were back at the 85c range.  This is in an air conditioned room.

I tried cleaning the card, maxing out fans etc, nothing helped, and it was driving me nuts.  The pc kept restarting itself from high temps.  I finally ordered some thermal paste and replaced what came with the factory.  It was super easy, 4 screws and a twist and it was open.  The factory paste was thick and had spilled all over the transistors surrounding the chip.  I cleaned everything the besi I could, used a toothbrush to get the paste off the transistors, and added the new paste.

I am now running at max load, an hour later, I am at 735 kh/s and gpu-z says my core temp is at 58c!  my VRM temps are at 78-80c!

I hope this helps any one else struggling with rising temps this summer.

9  Economy / Computer hardware / [SOLD] A piece of Bitcoin history. Video card that found Block 210000 on: April 06, 2013, 12:02:02 AM
On 11-28-12, I was lucky enough to find block 210000 with my 5870.  I am about to upgrade my mining rig, and have outgrown this card.

The card is in perfect working order, and is mining away as we speak.  I am not selling this for the price of a typical 5870.

This could be a big piece for any collector of bitcoin memorabilia. Not many physical items exist of historical value in the bitcoin world, this could be one of the biggest.  I want this to go to a collector, someone that will give it a good home.

I am selling this as an auction.  I will accept private bids via pm's, or feel free to post questions or bids here.  I am happy to use escrow. Accepting bitcoins or interesting trades only.

10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Boycott BTC-E on: February 23, 2013, 01:17:37 AM
BTC-E and the mods at btc-e, are scamming the customers.  When people point it out and complain about the scam, they ban them.  They say the only reason anyone would ever be upset about them stealing from their customers, is because they are invested in LTC.

They also claim that they don't care about the ltc community:

23.02.13 04:57:39 Jay1337: and you guys = 0.00001% of the community Wink

23.02.13 04:58:59 Jay1337: but seriously.. you guys are a drop in the bucket

what can you do?

STOP using this exchange that scams people, and laughs when you get upset about it.

Withdraw ALL funds from BTC-E.  I do not have another exchange to point you to, but it is clear btc-e can not be trusted. Maybe someone else can make a suggestion.

Go to https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=144353.0   and let them know that btc-e and balthazar deserve a scammer tag.

File a complaint here http://www.cftc.gov/ConsumerProtection/FileaTiporComplaint/index.htm

Let show them they cant steal from us, and go on with business as usual.

12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / BTC-E questionable practices on: February 12, 2013, 05:51:08 PM
First off, I love BTC-E.  It is the only place that you can trade btc, and alt coins with any sort of real volume. The interface is excellent, especially with the newest update.

My problem with BTC-E, is that it seems like some insider trading is going on.  Adding NVC seems scammy at best.  BTC-E has a lot of influence, and it seems like favors are being used to pump up an alt coin.

This is not the first time I felt that something wasnt right with btc-e. (the recent RUC pump and dump influenced by support is another example)

I hope what is going on is legit, and caused by a Russian to English language barrier, but I think it is time to clear out my funds.

12.02.13 20:57:31 mrmattnc: what the crap; btc-e has seen 2 quick facelifts to add NVC and put prices on buttons, but we can't get LTC holdings in the top box?

12.02.13 20:57:39 dstruct2k: You're like a half hour late Balth.

12.02.13 20:58:06 usscfounder: Balthazar, glad you are here. Why did you make novacoin [nvc]

12.02.13 20:58:29 dstruct2k: usscfounder, he got bored of masturbating.

12.02.13 20:58:41 accelerus: how many NVC could I get per day mining on two 7970s?

12.02.13 20:58:51 fedaykinwolf: dstruct2k, is that possible? Tongue

12.02.13 20:58:57 system: dstruct2k was banned for 60m by Balthazar

12.02.13 20:59:19 bushsolo: accelerus, that's changing all the time as the difficulty climbs.

12.02.13 20:59:21 usscfounder: Balthazar, Is it true you premined nvc? this was posted earlier: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=143360.0

12.02.13 20:59:26 Balthazar: Nothing personal Smiley

12.02.13 20:59:42 Balthazar: usscfounder, no, it's not true.

12.02.13 20:59:45 system: Balthazar was banned for 60m by abbeytim

12.02.13 21:00:12 abbeytim: that was uncalled for

12.02.13 21:00:19 usscfounder: Balthazar, care to explain: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=143360.0

12.02.13 21:00:54 system: abbeytim was banned for 60m by Balthazar

12.02.13 21:00:56 brie: sorry i missed whatever you guys said at me

12.02.13 21:01:30 system: Balthazar was banned for 60m by bettor

12.02.13 21:01:36 usscfounder: Balthazar, in the chat it say you only offered to the russians and not to anyone else. would that constitute a premine?

12.02.13 21:01:37 brie: well it wasn't responding and i accidentily hit the power button

12.02.13 21:01:39 Sitokagi: oh wow now he's getting more childish because people don't like how he is abusing his moderator priviliges

18  Economy / Goods / 1987 Jaguar xj6 Series III You pick up in East Tennessee on: December 10, 2012, 02:01:24 AM
My hobbies have changed once again, so I am selling this beautiful classic car.  I just don't have the time to restore her back to factory mint condition.  She drives perfectly, zero play in the steering wheel. I would not hesitate to drive her across the country as is. Mechanically very very sound.

The BAD:

The AC needs to be recharged
The rear brakes need to be adjusted
The gas gauge acts funny with the right gas tank, as in sometimes it wont read correctly, it still uses gas from the right tank tho. Needs a new $10 switch
She will need to be painted in the next few years if you want her to look perfect.  You can see in the pics where the paint is wearing, and she has 3-4 small rust spots, you can also see in pics.
The interior paneling isnt 100% , but looks dam good compared to other cars from the same era. The pics speak for themselves.

YOU are 100% responsible for pick up. I will not even think about shipping for any reason. I live very close to Johnson City TN, also very close to Asheville, NC.

I will take $2,000 in bitcoin, payable in person, before you drive away with the title.

19  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Block 210000 update on: December 07, 2012, 05:57:58 AM
As a lot of you may know, my first few weeks mining and being a part of this community have been very exciting. I wanted to post something here to thank a few people, and let you know whats been going on since 210000.  Thanks Theymos for the great forum title!  Thanks Slush for the bonus, and for having a great pool.  Thanks for Anonymous donations that were sent my way, whoever you are.

A few articles mentioned my luck that day. I did go out that night and purchase a few lottery tickets, and didn't hit one number.

The best surprise came today. I received a email  from Josh over at BFL, informing me that they will be sending me a Jalapeno, for finding block 210000.  So thanks Josh, and thanks Butterfly Labs! This was a classy move, and I thought you all should know about it.
