1  Economy / Speculation / You guys are doing it wrong ;) on: March 30, 2014, 04:52:56 PM
I see many new threads of people shorting Bitcoin at current prices. The time to short was on the way down from $800 to $450, this is supposed to be when those shorts are covered! (At least that's what I'm doing). Judging by the sentiment here and the oscillators on the 1day, 3day and 1week scales, the capitulation bottom occurs within 8 days, then it's all green as bears begin the old denial dance, attributing the rise to "whale manipulation"

Careful out there, don't get fleeced by Mr. Market Wink Wink
2  Economy / Speculation / THESE MARKETS on: December 19, 2013, 09:40:52 PM
 Angry Angry Angry

You know that feeling? When the market knows what you're doing and does exactly the opposite of what you want it to? When you watch your bitcoins go down down down DOWN DOWN --No I never sell at a loss, these are only paper losses-- DOWN DOWN DOWN $800 $700 -- This has to go back up sometime right?!!-- DOWN DOWN $600 $500 AHRGh I CANT TAKE IT ANYMORE finally you sell at 500 SELL AT 500 FINALLY GO ALL OUT and vow never to buy back until $200 or wherever the bottom is... and BOOM rocket back up to $700

FUCK

What do I do now, buy back? --- No I never buy back at a loss, that's the rule. -- And so watch it go back up up up up up UP UP UP finally can't take it anymore this thing is crazy going to the MOOOON I'm goign to miss the TRAIN and buy in BUY BUY BUY and BOOM splat it goes right back down wtf

I swear these markets are being manipulated there are whales that keylog me and the GRAND MANIPULATOR is out there watching my every move and making the market do exactly the opposite taking all my bitcoins and fiat and laughing in my face

3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / [WTB] 80k CNC for 94 LTC/K on: May 05, 2013, 01:54:24 AM
I am buying a total of 80k CNC for  94 LTC/k price (20% higher than market price)

Current bter.com exchange rate is 0.0025 BTC per CNC

Current BTC-e.com exchange rate is 0.0317 LTC per BTC

Thus if I were to buy from exchanges the price works out to be 78.864 LTC/k

However the exchanges do not have high enough volume for me. There would be too much slippage.

Thus, I am buying a total of 80k CNC for  94 LTC/k price. I can raise the price for high volume offers (>10k CNC).

4  Economy / Lending / 36BTC loan for SO's car accident with repayment with 6.5% interest in 14 days. on: February 20, 2013, 11:01:52 PM
My girlfriend just got into a car accident yesterday and needed an emergency operation for a fractured collarbone (the other vehicle rear ended her hard at a stoplight after skidding on ice). Since her work isn't very good in terms of job quality and the benefits plan only covered a fraction of the bill, and her family and I have given everything we could to help foot the bill. I even drew out a bank loan ($4000) but the bank won't let me borrow any more on such a short notice.

So I am turning to the only place I know that can help us out in a very tough time.. I am looking for a 36BTC loan, which I will convert to the necessary $956 to help my girlfriend out... She means the the world to me. I have to help her, because I know if I were in the hospital bed she would be doing all she could to help me.

After taking out the loan, I will get my monthly paycheck in 14 days on the 6th of March (my main source of income is I work full time as the CTO of a mid size firm, been there for 7 years so it's steady income). So I am offering a 6.5% interest on the loan, which is about half of the interest that is required because the hospital would otherwise go to the collection agency by policy, which is (11%+$20).

Please consider the loan, you can PM me and I can even provide my eBay account or other reputation resources, but I will only share personally identifying details with very trusted members or moderators of the forum.. Please respond before February 26, because that's when the hospital will go to the collections agency. Sorry if this is very rushed but I'm just trying to do all I can for the person I care about most..

EDIT: Sorry for the delay, it was a busy few weeks. I ended up talking to the hospital administration, and they gave me an extra month to pay because I have good credit and have a steady full time job and income. I have already paid back the bank loan, and were very close to completely recovering, financially! The physical recovery will take a while, and my girlfriend will be wearing a sling for a while. Thanks for all the support and helping me think of options in this difficult time! I love you guys.
5  Economy / Games and rounds / RHC's Game : [Recursive Auction] : Bitcoin Game/Experiment on: January 28, 2013, 03:42:44 AM
Recursive Auction

The Recursive Auction works as such:

1. Everyone publicly bids on an auction. TX ID's are posted as replies to this thread.
2. The winner of the auction wins the value of the previous two bids. For example, if the sequence of bids is 0.5BTC, 0.9BTC, 1BTC, 1.1BTC, whoever bids 1.1BTC wins 1.9 BTC!
3. I provide the two initial bids, 0.5BTC and 0.5BTC. (This means that if only one person ever bids, I pay them 1BTC.)
4. Bids must be greater in value than the previous bid.
5. If noone bids for 24 hours (for time zone fairness) then whoever was the last to bid wins!

**This is not a pyramid/Ponzi scheme! Think about it: The best case scenario in a pyramid scheme is that more people pile on, to cash out the early adopters. On the contrary, in Recursive Auction, the best case scenario is instead being the last to bid!  Roll Eyes

Please send the bids to: 1JapGdKWTGGwHcFNRHghvh6sCHjwtfmCQK  , and reply to this thread with a TX ID. Payouts will be issued to the winner, using the BTC address that sent the bitcoins, unless otherwise specified.

Have fun!   Wink
