6  Other / Politics & Society / De-monetization of basic life requirements and beyond. on: March 02, 2019, 02:58:37 PM
For the last few years I have seen a lot of talk about how de-monetizing basic life requirements are trending to de-monetized model.

The premise is that things like entertainment are becoming cheaper and better.  People under 30 consume more youtube than cable TV and that number is only getting larger by the year.  Those users consume that entertainment virtually free.  In order to make videos, capture pictures, have an audio entertainment system and make phone calls all took an individual piece of hardware and costs thousands of dollars not so long ago.  Now all of those are integrated into a device you carry in your pocket and if you don't need the latest $1-2k model you can have it fairly cheap.

It's been suggested that things like housing could also trend this way.  As automated cars and potential for 3D travel (above or below ground) and the increasing ability to work remotely its hypothesized people will be able to live farther and farther from city center's (great for places like USA and CAN which have plenty of rural land while still having overcrowded city centers).  This suggestion also helps to spread work out of the city centres as there is more need for spin off local business to support larger rural communities.

The auto industry could trend to de-monetization as well, polls show most millenials don't want to own a car (and for good fucking reason, motherfucking money pits!), community vehicle sharing could bring TCO for commuters down a lot.  Autonomous cars that sit in the parking lot all day and the driveway all night doing nothing could be efficiently put to use.

I'm curious about this trend in education, is it possible that education could follow this trend?  I wonder more about at the collegiate level could remote learning take over?  I don't think it makes sense for K through high school as socialization is far to important to get rid of physical schools.  There is a lot of talk about free college education in the US ATM perhaps the answer to this is to have an online government program that provided a college degree.  1 Professor could reach millions of students and the curriculum could be controlled.

Cheating would be a problem (someone else doing your work) but having a camera recording a person at test time that are randomly verified could help and I'm sure some smart people could help work on rules to reduce cheating as much as possible.

It would certainly be a lot cheaper option than the ones being proposed by some 2020 candidates.
7  Other / Politics & Society / (D) Mark Kelly running for John McCain's old seat in AZ on: February 12, 2019, 03:50:01 PM
The GOP lost Flakes seat to the democrats (McSally lost to Sinema) then gave McCains open seat to McSally.  Mark Kelly has launched a campaign for that seat.

Who will the GOP run against Kelly (assuming he wins the primaries), McSally who just lost a senate race in AZ 2 years earlier?

The GOP has ~22 senators up for re election in 2020 compared to the democrats ~10 and races like this are going to be pretty big in terms of 2020 senate control!
8  Other / Politics & Society / Former co-chair of Trump’s campaign in Georgia Insurance fraud and BTC mining on: December 28, 2018, 06:40:28 AM
The Georgia Republican who gained national attention when he traveled the state in his so-called “Deportation Bus” with “fill this bus with illegals” painted on the side reported to jail Wednesday.

Michael Williams, a state senator who came in fifth in the gubernatorial primary in May, was indicted last week for making a false report of insurance fraud, making false statements and falsely reporting a crime after he filed a claim about $300,000 worth of stolen computer servers from his campaign office, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

It’s unclear what actually happened to the computers, which were being used to mine bitcoin, but Mitchell allegedly lied about where he was at the time of the burglary; he said he was at home in Forsyth County, not his Gainesville campaign office.

I wonder what kind of campaign office had the space and power to run 300k worth of miners, who was paying for the power for the miners before they were stolen, his campaign?  were the miners even there in the first place?

Trump definitely knows how to pick em!

9  Other / Politics & Society / Mad Dog Mattis Resigns - Trumps replacement? on: December 21, 2018, 01:35:41 PM
Mad Dog Mattis resigned yesterday.

Read his resignation letter:

No indication yet who Trump will replace him with.

The globalist seem to think this is a bad news and the isolationists seem to think its good news.
10  Other / Politics & Society / NRA conspires with Russians to help elect Donald J. Trump on: December 11, 2018, 05:51:59 AM
Butina has inked an agreement with prosecutors and becomes the first Russian since the 2016 election to confess to a crime connected to efforts to influence American politics.

The NRA spent $30 million dollars on the Trump 2016 campaign.  That is almost 3 times more than they have ever spent on a presidential campaign.  That money came from NRA unreported sources.  The NRA has claimed it is in financial trouble, the NRA has been cultivated by the "Right To Bear Arms" group in Russia (the irony of a Russian NRA is laughable).  The Russian NRA (headed by a top Putin ally) does nothing inside Russia, Putin does not want his citizens armed obviously.

The Russian Right To Bear Arms gave the NRA lots and lots of money to help get Trump elected.  Trump's campaign also conspired with the NRA and committed blatant federal campaign finance violations according to a former federal election commissions president.

The Russian connections are just starting to come out now.  The Americans beloved NRA is a nothing but a Russian hack organization now and the clock is ticking for the pussy grabber!

11  Other / Politics & Society / CFO of Chinese tech giant Huawei arrested in Canada for extradition to the US on: December 06, 2018, 03:28:24 PM
Yesterday the CFO and deputy chairwomen of Huawei (the planets largest network equipment maker) was arrested in Canada at the request of the US for extradition to the US.  "She is wanted by the United States for allegedly contravening U.S. trade sanctions against Iran."

Canada should hold her hostage and have a bidding war.  See who wants here more the US or the Chinese?  Wink  Cool

I think we should turn her over to our comrades.  Cool

12  Other / Politics & Society / RIP George H.W Bush on: December 01, 2018, 01:01:11 PM
41st POTUS George H.W Bush died last night at the age of 94.  A decorated WWII Navy pilot and life long public servant.

Barbara Bushed passed away earlier this year, they were married for 73 years and are survived by 5 Children (inc Bush 43 their eldest son) 17 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

Love him or hate him it's commonly understood that the only thing he loved more than his country was his family.

Bush 41's term was during my university days, I wasn't interested in American politics back then so I don't have a lot of personal memories of his term.

Seems like he had a hell of a run, RIP Mr. President.
13  Other / Politics & Society / Soldier killed in Alabama mall, good guy with gun mistakenly killed by police... on: November 26, 2018, 01:10:12 PM
Good guy with a gun is killed by police, 12 year old with 2 gun shot wounds (she doesn't have life threatening injuries fortunately) and perpetrator still on the loose.

So they had a cop and good guys with guns, they managed to kill the good guy and shot a fucking kid AND they didn't even get the motherfucking bad guy...

The good guy had a legal gun AND had served in the military...  Oh in case it matters to anyone LOL he was a black man in civilian clothes with a gun, the private security police officer saw him and simply opened fire making a split second decision that cost an innocent man his life.  Ironically if the young man didn't have his gun for self defense he would still be alive.

14  Other / Politics & Society / Lock her up, lock her up on: November 20, 2018, 01:36:03 PM
Now that Ivanka has been caught doing the EXACT same thing Hilary did by using a private email for government work, I wonder if the rally chants of lock her up will apply to both women? #equaltreatment!

Ivanka thinks she is above the law for using private emails!

The rank hypocrisy is hilarious when she says, "I didn't know the rules" I guess she didn't understand why her dad wanted Hilary put in jail?  Is she as dumb as a bag of rocks like her dad?  I mean how else can you explain being that stupid?
15  Other / Off-topic / RIP Stan Lee - A True Pop Culture Icon on: November 13, 2018, 12:42:05 AM
Stan Lee passed away today at the age of 95.  The creator of Marvel, in the last few years his cameos were a big part of the Marvel movies and my son and I always looked forward to seeing them.

Pop culture lost a founder at least he had long run and finished on top where he belonged!

RIP Stan Lee and thanks for all the dreaming you inspired!
16  Other / Politics & Society / 13 Dead at mass shooting in California Bar on: November 08, 2018, 12:03:48 PM
Just heard the report of another mass shooting in the US.

13 Dead at bar as gunman walks in and starts shooting.

I didn't see many details but it was reportedly a popular college bar.  No details released on the nut job yet, except he is one of the dead.

More violence, more dead people, MOAR guns please!
17  Economy / Reputation / TECHSAHRE Calls Flying Hellfish a Rapist on: November 03, 2018, 08:24:33 PM
Flying Hellfish is a rapist. That's right. You might be asking yourself, but where is your proof? That is the best part, this anonymous hobo... I mean, source, told me Flying Hellfish is a rapist. He sounded quite reputable as he gave his work history over the disconnected payphone he was talking into. Anyways we need to believe all accusers, therefore Flying Hellfish is a rapist.

Since the other thread was locked by the OP I decided to re-post the information and allow the discussion to continue.

TECSHARE doesn't like me because I am from a frozen wasteland according to him.  My opinion is not valid because I do not live in the USA.  Now he is making outrageous claims about me being a rapist and locking the topic so no one can discuss it.
18  Other / Politics & Society / Donald Trump is a Racist on: November 02, 2018, 10:08:44 PM

Michael Cohen has a little November surprise for the Pussy Grabber in chief!

I don't think it's really much of a surprise based on Trumps own words in the media most reasonable people view Trump as racist.

Now we have a personal confident telling stories.

This is pretty clearly designed as an attempt to hurt Trump in the MT's and it's all over the main stream media so it may end up working LOL!

Cohen claims Trump said "black people are too stupid to vote for me"
19  Other / Politics & Society / Right wing trying to smear Mueller with fake news on: October 31, 2018, 03:30:59 PM
The Atlantic is reporting a Trump supporting right wing conspiracy theorist tried to bribe women to make false sexual harassment allegations and sign affidavits against Mueller...

The matter has been referred to the FBI for investigation!

The right is trying to create more fake news.  The right is desperate and terrified of what is going to happen to their precious pussy grabber when Mueller unloads on him!!!

The next shoe to drop in the Mueller investigation should be Stone and that little bitch is gonna sing like a canary when he gets indicted LOL.
20  Other / Meta / Clean up of: Supreme Court pick Brett Kavanaugh on: October 08, 2018, 03:00:01 PM
Since I am sure someone will make a thread about the clean up I just did in the above thread I will state the reasons ahead of time!

If your post was deleted from that thread I went back over the last couple of pages to bring the thread back on topic.  I did not got back any further as it seems pointless now.  So don't show us old posts that are still there and OT.  I received reports about OT posts and did a clean up of all posts I thought were breaking the rules on BOTH sides of the argument.  The reports wanted one side of the argument removed for being OT but I had to make sure ALL OT and other infringements were addressed in the interest of fairness.

That being said, if you had a post deleted it was likely considered off topic or responding to an off topic post.  It may have been low/now value as well.

I didn't really moderate the thread much because I was involved in the debate and I didn't want to be accused by the conspiracy folks of trying to censor the argument in "my" direction.  But with so much multi-posting, article link posting and off topic in the last couple of pages a couple of reports came in from one side of the argument looking to have OT stuff removed.  As I started to look at the OT I found many posts on both sides OT and they were removed.

You guys are free to start another thread and re-post the deleted messages in a more appropriately titled thread.
