2  Economy / Collectibles / [AUCTION] Limited Edition Collectible Mug Made in Nicaragua! #10/10 on: December 15, 2016, 12:00:48 AM

This is a quick auction, ending Friday, at 7 PM EST, which is 12 AM Forum time.

ONE-OF-A-KIND MUGS!  NEVER TO BE SEEN AGAIN!

These mugs were hand-made from clay that came from volcanic ash in Nicaragua.  The artisan who designed these pieces makes pottery for a living, in a small town one hour away from Granada, Nicaragua.  He made them in his workshop, which is in his house. ( https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1644516.0;all )

As I was rummaging through my Trump mug collection, I noticed that one of them was indeed a BTC mug, labeled 10/10.  Magical!  But here it is:

8  Other / Beginners & Help / I am having a hard time with Bitcoin Core, and I'm thinking of firing it. on: October 22, 2016, 12:37:39 AM
I am a very non-technical person.  It took my computer- a MacBook Air  early 2014.  After installing Bitcoin Core earlier this year, I noticed that my computer started slowing down.  I keep getting a "your startup disk almost full" message.  I took it to the apple store and they showed me thru Daisy Disk app that Bitcoin Core is the cause of my computer's performance. It is taking up too much memory- out of my 120 GB, it is taking up over 88 GB.

I am willing to trash it.  I see no reason to keep it, if that is what is slowing my computer down.  I have a little pixie dust in it.  Other than anyone asking me to claim an address I used once in this forum, is there any consequence to getting rid of it?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
9  Economy / Collectibles / Limited Edition Collectible Mugs Made in Nicaragua!!! on: October 12, 2016, 05:38:22 PM

Because of limited time and resources, I could only get a few of these made.  They are signed and numbered by the artist.  He did have a little quirkiness to his numbering, however.

What he made:

10 Trump Mugs, numbered 2/10, 3/10, 4/10, 5/10, 7/10, 7/10, 8/10, 9/10, 10/10, and 11/10.

10 BTC Mugs, numbered 1/10, etc, except instead of 10/10, there is an 11/10

3 BTC tea cup and saucer sets, numbered 1/10, 2/10, and 3/10.

I did not notice his numbering until too late.  I am selling these for $20, plus shipping.  All proceeds go to the Nicaraguan family who helped me get these made.

BTC price can be determined at the time of the sale.  Escrow is welcome.

I will be keeping the 11/10 BTC and Trump mugs, because I drink coffee, and also because my whole trip was really an 11/10  Cheesy

Get these limited edition coffee mugs now before they get sold out!

Thanks!

10  Economy / Goods / [Interest Check] Cigars, coffee, hot sauce, handcrafted stuff from Nicaragua on: June 22, 2016, 07:59:00 PM
Hey there,

I am going to be in Nicaragua during the month of July.  If any of you smoke cigars, they are known for them.  You can get cheap ones for a dollar and really nice hand rolled ones for around $15.  They also have nice hand made pipes, coffee, jewelry, hot sauce, hammocks and more.  If you want anything, just post.  When I am down there, I can also post pics of what I see and you can let me know if you are interested.

This is a pic of some of the stuff I got last year.  Clockwise from the upper left is one of those handmade cigars.  to the right, a little bottle of their own Flor de Cana rum, a piece of volcanic rock, a nice handmade pipe made with wood, the lid is a coin, and it is really nicely sculpted.  The painted bird is a whistle made from clay that comes from the volcanic rock powder.  I am planning on going back with the Bitcoin logo and see if they can make some cool stuff.  Lastly you see a typical t-shirt.

http://imgur.com/Rpy0XrA

All of the stuff is inexpensive compared to the U.S. and most of Europe.  I am planning on bringing back some more rocks just for free momentos.

The goal would be to get the biggest carry-on I can find and just load up on stuff.   That is if I get enough interest.

Thanks!  Cheesy

11  Economy / Collectibles / Tips from people with Cascasious coins on: June 17, 2016, 08:17:06 PM
Hey there fellow collectors!

I am fairly new at collecting physical crypto coins, and I've come to enjoy it  Grin

Someone locally has contacted me regarding a collection of Cascasious coins.  I've checked the uberbills site, and all are still loaded.

Any telltale signs it is counterfeit and if the hologram has been tampered with?   Or any other potential scams or legal issues in dealing with coins?

Thanks! Smiley
12  Economy / Trading Discussion / Which is better: arbitrage or simply holding onto bitcoins? on: June 08, 2016, 04:21:19 AM
Whenever I get bitcoin, I immediately sell for a small profit.  I have been wondering if I would be better off just holding onto them...then I think that to make money I gotta buy and sell, buy and sell, over and over.

What are your thoughts?  Is it better to buy and hold or buy low/sell high?

15  Economy / Trading Discussion / I want to make a trade! on: April 13, 2016, 02:47:12 AM
Why are there no posts about people wanting to make trades?  Is it not allowed?  Is it allowed but not feasible?

If it is allowed, I definitely will be willing to trade with someone with integrity.

If it isn't allowed, well, I apologize.

So, please let me know one way or the other:

-You're interested!

-It's not allowed Sad

-It's not feasible (trust, logistical, ?)

Thanks!

16  Other / Beginners & Help / Installing bitcoin core help on: April 08, 2016, 02:59:16 PM
Okay, I'm in the middle of installing bitcoin core, and I also did a newbie mistake of sending btc there to 2 addresses before it has fully installed.

Now I'm getting an error message: error: disk space too low!

I am not very technical.  I searched online and I see that I can reinstall using "pruning".

My biggest concern right now is losing the btc that I have sent over.  If I reinstall, won't I lose access to those addresses?

Like I said, I am technically-challenged.  Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!
17  Economy / Goods / Looking to buy older smartphones with bitcoin! on: March 18, 2016, 12:06:28 AM
I am looking to buy your older smartphone with bitcoin.  I then bring them to Central America to sell them for pennies on the dollar.  (That's all they can afford).  I am therefore looking for sharp pricing.  It's not worth if for me if it's too expensive.

I would be looking for old iphones, Samsungs, and androids.

I am willing to use an escrow service.

I am located in the U.S.  You too must be located in the U.S.

Thanks!  I hope to hear from you!  Feel free to ask me anything!
