1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / 50,000 Bitcoin for a 2-bedroom apartment on: January 17, 2025, 12:19:25 AM
So, I was casually browsing on the web and saw this hilarious story about Ryhan Serhant(agent) offered to buy 2 bedroom apartment in New York for 50,000 Bitcoin ($13,000,000) for his client on 2015. That's around $260 per Bitcoin on that time.

Now, that 50,000 Bitcoins is now worth $5B ($100k/btc). Yeah, that's a lot now and if that deal went through there will be for sure some holdings left on that seller but it didn't happen and the seller didn't like the idea and the worth of its valuation at that time because the value and the listing price of the apartment should be around $13,950,000 - $14,000,000 compared to the offer of the buyer which was valued less than approx a $1M.

Man, we gotta love all of these Bitcoin purchases in the past and the sellers didn't accept any of these offers. I'm sure that there are other documented purchases that ended up the same.

Full story and video: Man turned down a 50,000 Bitcoin house offer in 2015 and it’s worth a shocking amount today

2  Economy / Exchanges / Hotbit stops operation on: May 22, 2023, 09:23:55 AM
I was looking if someone has already posted this news and it was posted through Hotbit's twitter account a few hours ago.

It's time to take a bow 🙇
For 5 years and 4 months, the Hotbit team has been proud to participate in a wonderful crypto show with 5 million users. However, it is with great regret that we have made the decision to stop all CEX operations from May 22, UTC 04:00. We kindly ask all users to withdraw their remaining assets before June 21, UTC 04:00.

For any questions, please contact us viahttps://hotbit.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/requests/new

This decision is based on three reasons: please check this announcement link for more detalis: https://hotbit.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/14750194236823

Those that has got funds there have 1 month to withdraw it. And for those that want to know the reasons for it, you can just go directly to their link. Don't worry it's safe and it's from them.

We saw the pattern from the other exchanges that have shut their operations. As said on one reason, about hard dealing with regulations from the government.

4  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Buy crypto using Ledger Live on: June 10, 2020, 11:55:05 PM
There's a recent update for Ledger live and that's what the title says, you can now purchase crypto using their app as they've integrated with Coinify. The available cryptos are not that much yet this may be ease for other users.

This feature, operated by Coinify, is available directly in the Ledger Live application. Pick your favorite crypto among Bitcoin, Ethereum, Bitcoin Cash, or Dash and buy it using your Credit Card or a Bank Transfer. Stellar and USDT will soon be available to buy directly through Ledger Live.

5  Bitcoin / Electrum / Can someone explain this? on: August 02, 2017, 03:52:42 AM
I was just a new electrum user because of this fork and I decided to choose electrum.

And after sending most of my funds on my electrum wallet, I want to transfer it to an exchange.

So here's the scenario,

I only sent to only one wallet but the explorer says I sent it to two addresses. And the amount I sent is almost 1 BTC then to the other wallet(I don't know who owns it or where it did came from) sent almost the same amount automatically too.

The output shows 2 BTC even I only sent 1 BTC.

When logging in to my electrum wallet when seeing the "history" it shows right balance but upon clicking "addresses" it shows lower amount of balance.

My concern is that why it shows two wallets even if I only sent to only one and the amount? Is this normal? For what why it shows automatically that there's another wallet that I sent which is I didn't.
6  Economy / Web Wallets / Block chain Unable to send payment on: August 19, 2016, 10:13:12 AM
Well guys, I have a problem this for block chain. At first I'm not still upgrading to the new block chain wallet. But while trying to send payment the send button is not working.

So, I speculated that maybe I need to upgrade now.

But upon upgrading it seems that the same problem again. What do you think guys? Block chain has problem? I really need to send the payment now.

Is anyone experiencing the same problem as mine?

And in addition, do you know how to make an alias to the new block chain wallet?

Thanks.
