41  Economy / Trading Discussion / An advice for newbies and plebs on: March 05, 2022, 11:32:10 AM
Simply stop day-trading, or any more active form of trading. Preserve your capital and wait for the market to be in the same situation like 2020 again, when investors were excited to throw their money in crypto. The market narrative has changed, people are not as excited. The market has always followed a bull - bear cycle. Save your money, and wait for the next opportunity.

2022 - It might be a bear market.
2023 - It might be the next opportunity to buy the Bitcoin DIP.
2024 - It might be the new BULL MARKET.
42  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Proof of Work is not moving towards a “technical dead end” on: February 26, 2022, 08:54:16 AM
It’s truly not, and there are trolls that want to convince you that it is. An example is if Russia was sanctioned, banning Russian oil. What they can do to work around sanctions is convert their oil into energy and mine Bitcoin. I believe Iran did it first and it’s opening a possibilty for a new kind of arbitrage opportunity for oil exporting countries.

At $10 million, GoFundMe has placed the Freedom Convoy 2020 campaign "under review to ensure it complies with our terms of service and applicable laws and regulations", after mounting pressure to stop the campaign from Canadian media and the city of Ottawa.

https://twitter.com/themarieoakes/status/1489032258136723461

Canadian truckers are protesting the vaccine mandate. There are supporters, and people who are against the protests, that’s another debate. But GoFundMe is currently “reviewing” the fund raising campaign to possibly censor it later. If only there was a censorship-resistant currency that Canadians can use for that fund raising campaign. Cool
44  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / CBDC will make Bitcoin MORE valuable on: January 25, 2022, 12:15:07 PM
Quote

Identity-verified: Financial institutions in the United States are subject to robust rules that are designed to combat money laundering and the financing of terrorism. A CBDC would need to be designed to comply with these rules. In practice, this would mean that a CBDC intermediary would need to verify the identity of a person accessing CBDC, just as banks and other financial institutions currently verify the identities of their customers.

Prevention of financial crimes: Relatedly, financial institutions must comply with a robust set of rules that are designed to combat money laundering and the financing of terrorism. These rules include customer due diligence, recordkeeping, and reporting requirements. As noted above, any CBDC would need to be designed in a manner that facilitates compliance with these rules. Intermediated models for a U.S. CBDC have the distinct advantage of involving private-sector partners with established programs to help ensure compliance with these rules.

https://www.federalreserve.gov/publications/files/money-and-payments-20220120.pdf

Someone asked if a CBDC can make Bitcoin worthless. Read the white-paper for “FedCoin”, and tell me how it can make Bitcoin “worthless”, when in fact it definitely WILL make it more valuable.

Why?

The paper says, “In practice, this would mean that a CBDC intermediary would need to verify the identity of a person accessing CBDC, just as banks and other financial institutions currently verify the identities of their customers.”

It will KYC everyone, and invade your privacy.

It also says, “ Intermediated models for a U.S. CBDC have the distinct advantage of involving private-sector partners with established programs to help ensure compliance with these rules.”

Is that developing the mechanisms to censor the user?

It is everything that Bitcoin it not. I believe if CBDC is fully adopted, it will only increase demand for a censorship-resistant type of money. Bitcoin. Cool
45  Economy / Economics / If the government loses control of the financial system, we have a fall back on: January 03, 2022, 12:22:50 PM

President Tayyip Erdogan said on Friday that Turks should keep all their savings in lira and that recent exchange rate volatility was largely under control after the lira weakened sharply in the last two months.

"I want all my citizens to keep their savings in our own money, to run all their business with our own money, and I recommend this," Erdogan said in a speech in Istanbul.

"Let's not forget this: as long as we don't take our own money as a benchmark, we are doomed to sink. The Turkish Lira, our money, that is what we will go forward with. Not with this foreign currency, that foreign currency."

https://www.reuters.com/world/middle-east/erdogan-calls-turks-keep-all-savings-lira-2021-12-31/

Who should be blamed for “that”, President Erdogan? You want everyone to hold the Turkish Lira, while your cabal inflate and deflate the currency according to your “mood”.

Bitcoin is the back up/fall back that we need.

BREAKING: Putin and Xi agreed "to set up an independent financial infrastructure to service trade between Russia and China" which will be designed to be "invulnerable" to "pressure from third parties."

https://twitter.com/chollimaorg/status/1471122707337347072

BREAKING: Satoshi Nakamoto has already invented what Putin, and Xi’s independent infrastructure to service trade between Russia, and China. Another way of saying, “we don’t want to be censored by sanctions”.

I believe it was also China itself that has proven that Bitcoin is invulnerable to pressure from third parties. Cool

How long must the protocol run before everyone accepts the fact that Bitcoin WILL surge towards 6 digits, and possibly become stable at 6 digits after 2 more bull cycles?
48  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / No one can continue ignoring Bitcoin on: November 09, 2021, 09:43:53 AM

Joe Rogan, the world’s most successful podcaster and comedian, may have accepted a Bitcoin payment of $100,000. The podcast host and MMA commentator has talked about Bitcoin in the past on his show, and has even hosted conversations with notable Bitcoiners, but accepting Bitcoin as payment marks a definitive switch in stance on his part.

https://bitcoinmagazine.com/business/worlds-biggest-podcaster-joe-rogan-accepts-bitcoin-payment

When you start to understand how the protocol works, what it truly is, then you know can’t ignore it, but have to HODL some of your own personal wealth in it. These Bitcoins are NOT mere Tulips. Cool
49  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Not your vault, not your money. Why some nation-states will HODL Bitcoin. on: November 03, 2021, 11:01:16 AM

Afghanistan's Taliban government is pressing for the release of billions of dollars of central bank reserves as the drought-stricken nation faces a cash crunch, mass starvation and a new migration crisis.

Afghanistan parked billions of dollars in assets overseas with the U.S. Federal Reserve and other central banks in Europe, but that money has been frozen since the Islamist Taliban ousted the Western-backed government in August.

https://www.xm.com/research/markets/allNews/reuters/just-give-us-our-money-taliban-push-to-unlock-afghan-billions-abroad-44779875

The Taliban will never EVER see that money again. If only there was a robust, self-sovereign, censorship-resistant currency that an entity can actually HODL in their own actual custody, without any counterparty trust. Cool
50  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Jamie Dimon asks, “How do we know Bitcoin supply ends in 21 million”? on: October 19, 2021, 08:16:38 AM
Hahahaha. Plus he followed it with another question, “Did you read all the algorithms”? It’s very laughable that he’s trying to convince the public that Bitcoin was invented to scam people. I believe if he did the research, to actually know and truly understand the basics, he would praise Bitcoin as a technological breakthrough.

I cannot believe it. Nouriel Roubini, one of Bitcoin’s most commited CRITICS has changed his stance against Bitcoin, and has embraced it and has recognized its merits. Will Peter Schiff be next? I believe one of his feet has entered the door. His son owns Bitcoin. Cool
52  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / How are your shitcoins? on: October 11, 2021, 06:22:05 AM
Are they OK? Cool

If Bitcoin surges, shitcoins go up LESS, if Bitcoin goes through a dip, shitcoins go down MORE. Bitcoin is currently only a few percentages from ATH. Everything in this part of the bull cycle might be only for Bitcoin.

The Chia Coin cryptocurrency aimed to be a very lucrative & eco-friendly mining venture when it was first introduced, requiring less power to mine compared to traditional GPU/ASIC miners and putting less effect on the global environment. Chia Coin peaked out at an impressive $1614 US value back in May but ever since then, the price has continued to fall down and currently sits at $282.19

Just for comparison, a standard 1 TB HDD would last 10 years with normal usage but with Chia Coin mining, it would last only 80 days. And considering that the majority of these drives were bought in May during the boom period, they are well past the 80-day duration. So you are most likely to get a paper-weight for paying the price of a brand new HDD/SSD which was sold to you as a new one.

https://wccftech.com/beware-chia-coin-miners-selling-used-ssds-hdds-as-brand-new-on-online-marketplaces-as-coin-crashes/

Chia miners/community members thought they/the coin were doing the morally right way to “mine” cryptocurrency, by “not wasting” electricity, but what they did was waste the most precious currency on Earth. Their Time.
54  Economy / Economics / Tulip Mania 2.0 on: September 06, 2021, 09:22:02 AM
There are many nocoiners that claim that Bitcoin is “Tulip Mania 2.0”, but it has been 10 years. How long must the protocol keep running before the rest of the world accepts that Bitcoin is not going anywhere. In fact, it opened a Pandora’s Box of new possbilities. BUT, I believe the next “Tulip Mania” for this bull cycle are, NFTs.
55  Economy / Economics / Singapore, the banking industry, and Bitcoin on: July 14, 2021, 08:31:34 AM
Everyone is looking at El Salvador to be “the home” of Bitcoin, but I believe Singapore is better to be the true hub of the Bitcoin industry, with serious players.

Singapore has made a lot of effort on the technological sector. It cannot be said of El Salvador.

Singapore has clean governance, and almost zero corruption. El Salvador’s government structure might be corrupt everywhere from the bottom to the top.

Singapore’s banking industry is what made the country develop into one of the richest countries in the world. It can further develop by embracing the Bitcoin industry.
56  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / On Paul Sztorc’s BIP-300 proposal on: June 16, 2021, 06:51:16 AM
I have recently went into a debate with some of the more well-informed/smarter people in the forum about POW, and why we should be open minded about upgrades for Bitcoin. Of course I was not the open minded one, and I didn’t agree with changing the POW with another algorithm, or another “mining mechanism”, because it would break the very thing that makes everything stick together in Bitcoin. The incentive structure.

BUT from technical perspective, I am asking those same people who told me to be open minded. What are your opinions on Paul Sztorc’s proposal? Should the community be open minded enough to campaign for this upgrade?

Bip300 (my project) allows us to:

* Shrink the layer1 blocksize
* Have ultra-strong zCash privacy/mixing
* Emulate any Altcoin (making Alt-marketing ~impossible)
* Scale BTC worldwide
* Painlessly activate new soft forks or even hard forks

And it is 100% opt in and reversible.

57  Economy / Economics / We exited the bear market earler than expected on: May 24, 2021, 12:31:25 PM
We exited the bear market earlier than everyone expected.

The prices might only start to surge from here. Many people said that the Korea FUD, the Elon FUD, and the China FUD will kill Bitcoin. But what it actually did was speed up a 3 year bear market into a 3 week bear market. Cool
58  Economy / Service Discussion / If we are in a new bear cycle, find a job. Bitcoin and Crypto jobs search site on: May 19, 2021, 06:09:32 AM
Anthony Pompliano did a good idea by building a website that compiles all the available jobs in Bitcoin and the rest of the cryptocurrency community. There’s a job always ready for you if you have the skills. It will be useful if the market is indeed in a new bear cycle.

59  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Learn to laugh even if Bitcoin is crashing on: April 23, 2021, 06:30:32 AM
It’s their turn to laugh at us HODLers after many months of laughing at them. But most importantly, learn to laugh at yourself. It relieves stress. Cool

Peter Schiff = 1, Anthony Pompliano = 0. Hahaha good joke.

Now that #Bitcoin  is back below $50k I think it's time for @APompliano to tweet out $1k milestones on the way down the way he did on the way up.

60  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / “Bitcoin is the laughing stock of our firm” on: April 12, 2021, 09:19:18 AM
There are people currently like this today, as there was 8 years ago. Nocoiners. How long must the network run before they can admit that Bitcoin, and the idea of Bitcoin, has opened a Pandora’s Box, never to close again.

How high must Bitcoin’s price go before they accept it as a self-sovereign Store of Value, HODLed as a hedge in case the Fed/Central Bank, and the government loses control of the financial system?
