1  Economy / Economics / Bitcoins death effects would precious metals ? on: January 21, 2014, 02:04:09 PM
Do you think that Bitcoins death effects would precious metals.
Many liberterian who own bitcoins also own gold and silver. A death
of bitcoins could mean they could rush to buy gold and silver.
2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / BitCoin mining, a way to avoid exchanges. on: December 31, 2013, 02:17:11 PM
It occored me that a good way to acquire bitcoins anonomously is to mine them( convert electricity into bitcoins)
This could be good way for people who live in fascist countries who make bitcoins buying difficult. This could be good even if
bitcoins created is less then the cost of electricity in some cases.
3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / If BitCoin stagnates. on: December 05, 2013, 03:43:47 PM
If BitCoin stagnates.
Lets say BitCoins stagnates and no more merchants take it,  and governments do not acknowledge it as a currency or make life difficult for  it. I still believe it has a future doing what it is already doing NOW.
•   A storage of value that beats most other investments( o so slightly)
•   Ability to hide money or store it where it cannot be commandeered.
•   Ability to travel anywhere with it.
•   Uses in third world countries for individuals who don’t own bank accounts.

I acknowledge that its volatility make is difficult for use in trade and money transfer( currently) and a possibility that it might get hacked. But if it doesn’t get hacked it will always be here.

4  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Good way to spend BitCoin while acknowledging risc on: November 29, 2013, 06:39:06 AM
I have decided to take 2.33BTC out of cold storage. Yesterday the BitCoins are worth £1666. At the end of the month, I will withdraw some BitCoins so that they equal £1666. I don't know if they call this top-slicing. Since yesterday I have made £85 profit. Now if I make £250 profit a month, I will be happy. That's enough cover the cost of gas and owning a car. The gas prices suck in London its more then double that of NY.
I can still dream of being rich and get free money also.

5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / LiteCoins on Ebay selling for silly money. on: November 27, 2013, 03:59:54 PM
LiteCoins on Ebay selling for silly money. Is arbitrage a real word. There is something stopping traders from bring down the price.
Or is there a problem with Ebay themselves.
6  Other / Off-topic / Installing IRC OTC with kleopatra on: November 21, 2013, 07:48:07 AM
I am following instruction how to use IRC OTC. Unfortunately a simple steps C and D is not possible. The button/tab certificate import is not greyed out and not selectable.  So I don't have much of a chance in continuing.
http://www.buy-bitcoin-uk.co.uk/2012/11/bitcoin-otc-complete-guide-how-to-buy.html

a) People will post their public keys so that you can copy/import them into your key manager (kleopatra in this case)
keys start with: -----BEGIN PGP PUBLIC KEY BLOCK-----
keys end with: -----END PGP PUBLIC KEY BLOCK-----

b) To get these keys into kleopatra, select the entire key (including the begin and end line), and copy them to your clipboard (crtl+c or edit=>copy)
c) Right click your red kleopatra icon in your task bar
d) select Clipboard and then certificate import
7  Economy / Trading Discussion / BTC- MT4 leverage on: November 16, 2013, 11:58:30 AM
I had a look at MT4 client for BTCE. I noticed the mention of leverage, which is a Forex thing.
BTC doesn't have leverage. Leverage is dangerous

BTC market might be highly attractive for Forex newbies but generally most Forex users are suckers. That's why I am in a bitcoin forum not trading forex.

9  Economy / Economics / Hedge against BitCoin collapse on: November 10, 2013, 06:26:20 PM
I am looking for the perfect edge against a bitcoin collapse. My biggest fear is selfish mining or some
other hack on the system. Not so much worried about bears, volatility and governments.

and currently there is no more traders. And still waiting verification from OKpay.
