1  Bitcoin / Hardware / Another BFL Story - a bit of a twist on the usual on: December 19, 2013, 12:21:51 AM
I ordered a total of 12 SC60's in March 2013 and then snapped at the end of September and initiated a chargeback with my credit card company. The chargeback was initiated only after I provided BFL notice they had 10 days to ship my gear or my order was canceled. Little did I know that the credit card company had no recourse and were just trying to be nice to a good customer. They were going to try and "work it out" with the vendor... an obvious fail that had I known was the case I would never have gone there.

Over two months passed for the credit card process to fail as it was doomed to. In the meantime BFL shipped my miners. In consultation with the credit card company I refused the shipments..... sigh.

After the chargeback failed in December I was back at BFL with my (ass)hat in hand and begging for my gear. Fortunately I was well received by customer service most likely due to my history as a positive and regular contributor on the BFL forums and shoutbox (at least until September).

Gentleman Jonathon and the lovely Emily were helpful and prompt in working out a solution: pay $420 in shipping and your miners would arrive Monday December 16th. Cool. Paid the $420 in BTC and then...... 12 miners arrived as promised although I received no tracking or other indication on my account orders that anything had happened. Open the boxes and: 12 x 50's instead of my 60's. WTF?!?! So, I emailed a polite and reasonable solution: send me a couple more 60's or 2 x 50's plus a 25 and we are done.

Can you guess what BFL's response was? "We guarantee 60 gh/s + or - 10%. Your overall hashrate is within the specified variance." Errrr..... no it is not (they range from 47 - 56 with most under 54). BUT THAT IS NOT THE POINT BFL!!!! I ordered shit and you sent me shinola. I know the difference.

I ordered 720 GH/s +/- 10% NOT 600 GH/s +/- 10%. I ordered equipment called SC60 not 50..... and you sent me unsolicited without prior agreement something I did not order..... and there is no record on my account of what was done. Now what? How about you send me the rest of what I ordered? Please.

2  Economy / Computer hardware / [WTS] 12 SC 60's BNIB shipping from BFL - its a little complicated on: December 09, 2013, 06:21:25 PM
Short story, ordered bfl gear in March 2013  Grin, tired of waiting after nearly 6 months Angry, filed a chargeback with AMEX  Tongue, BFL shipped  Undecided, I refused shipments  Cheesy - fail on chargeback  Cry - 12 SC 60's now sitting at BFL that I own Embarrassed.

I am in the process of clearing outstanding charges for the shipments and perhaps arranging to have them shipped back to me in any case. I have recourse with AMEX on the extra costs for shipping (don't get me started about the chargeback process) so meh.

So, you want some SC's? How about 12? Make me an offer.... act fast because if I manage to sort things out with BFL first and get them shipped here then I win. (well not really but you get the drift).

Note - any arrangement for sale will be paid in BTC via escrow through BFL's order transfer system. You will need to make your own arrangements for shipping with BFL. To transfer an order in the BFL system you will need to provide me with your BFL ID so I can make the transfer.
3  Economy / Computer hardware / [WTS] IN CANADA ONLY EH! - UPDATED - 11 of 12 BFL Single 60's Refused on: October 11, 2013, 06:08:05 PM
**** UPDATED ***** Amex says Two More Weeks until chargeback process is complete. Where have I heard that before? 11 of the 12 units have been refused and BFL still shipped the 12th which now on its first leg of a round trip to Kansas.

This offer is only for shipment within Canada as it does not make sense to receive goods here and pay the 12% taxes on them and then reship those items back to the USA or elsewhere.

I am offering 12 BFL SC 60's ordered March 10 - 29th for BTC with escrow AT COST and include all chip credits FWIW. Cost is defined as the sum of the price of each SC60 + shipping + escrow fee and any taxes paid on arrival into Canada. You pay the actual cost of shipping to you based on your preferred method. I will ship the gear unopened and unused on the day it is received.

The first of the 12 units are in transit with tracking available. I expect the rest will ship within the next week.

To be clear, I have a credit card chargeback underway and BFL will undoubtedly ship all my gear before it is concluded. The credit card company has stated I can refuse the shipments and it will not prejudice the chargeback process. If I do not sell these units I will refuse the orders and I will get my money either way. Nevertheless, I know some people are buying at marked up prices and I thought it appropriate to offer them to someone else in Canada rather than have them pay an inflated price.

PM me with the number of SC's you want and the method of shipment requested and I will prepare a quote. If you agree the price we will calculate the equivalent value in BTC based on the sell price at Cavirtex 1 -2 days before the shipment is due to arrive. Transfer of BTC into escrow will be done once orders are shipped and tracking in the USPS system.

You select the escrow provider but if you are not sure I can suggest a couple.
4  Economy / Computer hardware / [WTS] March 10th Preorder for BFL 60 GH/s Single SC on: September 08, 2013, 08:08:54 AM
This transaction is intended to take place under the BFL preorder transfer program announced September 7th and which goes live September 10th.

https://forums.butterflylabs.com/announcements/4726-order-sales-transfer.html You will need to register an account with BFL prior to being able to accept a transfer.

I have a posting on the BFL classifieds with details repeated here. Please use the BFL forum for communications on offers as I will not be responding to or considering price offers on this forum.

Order number 1000211XX placed and paid March 10th 2013 - order includes $88.00 shipping to Canada which can be applied to your shipping requirements. I will also transfer the 16 chip credits FWIW.

No offers under the order price will be contemplated as I will simply take the shipment and mine it myself. This order is the first of many singles I have in the pipeline and I may or may not sell them as well depending on the outcome of this process.

https://forums.butterflylabs.com/classifieds.php?do=viewitem&itemid=239

BTC is payment method and escrow is required with release of funds in escrow triggered on the successful transfer of the order.
5  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Over 1 Million Americans Denied Bank Accounts on: August 01, 2013, 06:41:15 PM
In the NYT yesterday:

http://dealbook.nytimes.com/2013/07/30/over-a-million-are-denied-bank-accounts-for-past-errors/?src=me&ref=general

The article references a 2012 study by the FDIC which puts the number of 'Unbanked' Americans at 17 Million individuals living in 10 Million households.

Are there any bitcointrepreneurs out there who are addressing this market?
