1284  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Bitcoin Core Error Message on: July 18, 2017, 05:07:14 PM
So I fired up the core client today after a couple of days having it turned off.

Once the blockchain was loaded up and it was ready to go I noticed (for the first time) an error message stating the following: "Warning: Unknown block versions being mined! It's possible unknown rules are in effect".

What does this mean? Are there already posts regarding this? Am I not running the latest core version and is that what's prompting this error message?

I don't want to spread panic or inform people with faulty information but yeah, I'm curious more than anything.

1285  Economy / Services / [WTH] Looking for an experienced Java & C++ programmer on: July 04, 2017, 05:49:35 PM
So I'm currently looking to hire or bring in an experienced coder familiar with Java and C++. The project that I have in mind will be something longterm and prosper, would prefer to find someone who would like to work on it full time more or less and hopefully continue once it is completed.

Please let me know if you are interested either here or in PM. Will share further details regarding the project through PM.

Thanks,

Both of these coins are Proof - the more rare and sought after coins that Silver Shield is producing. Top quality coins that have been in their airtites since day 1.

1287  Economy / Goods / [WTB]Silver Shield on: June 27, 2017, 09:21:52 PM
Any Silver Shield collectors here? I'm mainly looking for people located in EU so I can escape the VAT charges and extras. Let me know what you have as I'm interested mainly in Proof's but BU's can also be of interest.

I prefer the Proof's to be in their respective box complete with CoA. PM or comment and I'm certain we can reach a deal that will be lucrative for both parties.

1288  Economy / Exchanges / LocalBitcoins fee's on: June 20, 2017, 11:01:51 AM
Alright, so I'm not sure if anyone has already brought this up but today when I made a deposit to Localbitcoins it says they will deduct a deposit fee from my deposit. How is it even possible to deduct a fee from a deposit? Can't cost them money to receive money? Holy hell...

Do you guys know of any other places similar to Localbitcoins that I could use? I'm based in Sweden and like "safe" peer to peer trading.
1289  Economy / Digital goods / [WTB] Steam Gift Cards on: June 15, 2017, 10:53:50 AM
I'd love to purchase these in bulk and pay in BTC. A steady weekly/monthly flow of cards would be optimal. Not really sure if it is possible to get these below the going rate on the card but I've seen people buying them in the past and would of thought it is not at a 1:1 price.

You would either have to go first and allow me to confirm the code or we'd use an escrow. You'd pay for any escrow fees in that case.
1290  Other / Archival / [Raffle Bonanza] BTCC, KIALARA, PHYSIBIT -CANCELLED- on: June 05, 2017, 02:00:46 PM
In celebration of Bitcoin staying strong above $2500 we figured it was time for a cool raffle!

The prizes are:

2x BTCC Logo Chip Sets. Each set comes with 5 different chip colors and are individually loaded for a total of 0.141BTC

1x BTCC Year of the Rooster 2x 5k Chip Pack. This was a special Pack to celebrate the Chinese New Year. Contains 2 high quality BTCC Chips individually loaded with 0.005BTC.

1x Kialara Labyrinth w/ Silver Balls. Each and every collector sure knows a Kialara piece when they see one. This is considered some of Max's best work at an affordable price. A must have for any serious collector.

1x Kialara Artwork, Julia Tourianski #73. This is some of the artwork Max has done where he takes a cool idea and makes it amazing. The presentation of this piece is just stunning and fits in nicely with other collectibles.

1x Physibit Poker Chip Set #001! PhysiBit with Vizique at the frontline recently released their own take on Crypto Poker chips. Turned out to be a great success as they managed to combine design and durability with an affordable pricetag. This is set #1 with the appurtenent Metal Chip also numbered with #1. This Metal chip was limited to only the first 10 sets made. A cool set that anyone should be happy to have their hands on!

So! This will be a 32 spot raffle to lower the costs of entry a bit and increase the number of participants that can enter. A 32 spot raffle works just like a 16 spot normal raffle does. The only difference is that there will be two "tables" of 16 spots each. Each "Table" will have 8 hashes to their name, meaning that when the raffle is full we will draw one block that determines which table has a chance to win, the next block drawn will determine which ticket inside of the table wins.

Prize Distribution:

1st: 1x BTCC Logo Chip Set. 1x Kialara Labyrinth.
2nd: 1x BTCC Logo Chip Set. 1x Kialara Julia Tourianski.
3rd: 1x Physibit Chip Set. 1x BTCC Rooster Pack.

1292  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Bitcoin Core Issues on: May 25, 2017, 05:55:37 PM
So I recently sold my Stationary PC to purchase a laptop. This is a high-end laptop and I decided to download core and the entire chain on it as I've used Core for a while and do feel at home with it.^

Now to the issue:

It is crashing..A lot. I can start it up once I've opened up my laptop and it can instantly crash while loading in the chain. Sometimes I have to restart it several times before it fully loads and functions.
It is slow.. I can have the wallet up and move between Send/Transactions and it just lags out. I can right-click on a specific transaction to get TxID or something else and it just lags out, can sometimes take up to 30seconds before the options show. Sometimes when I have it minimized and want to open it, it takes 30-60seconds before it pops up.

So what can the issue be? I never had these problems on my Stationary PC. I've deleted everything and re-installed it twice but the issues persist. I have no other issues with this laptop and can run games/other powerful programs without issues.

Any and all help is appreciated.
1293  Bitcoin / Pools / [Question] Old pool from 2011-2012 on: May 25, 2017, 05:22:53 PM
So I'm in a bit of a pickle.

I got involved with BTC in 2013. I had a lot of things happen both good and bad and eventually I cashed out almost everything in mid 2014 until I came back last August.

I've been having some memories, flashbacks. In 2011 or 2012 there was a pool.. BTCGuild or something similar. I remember that I was in there and doing some GPU-Mining from a couple of PC's. Now I can't really remember when they were operating or if they were really called BTCGuild. I have no hope of recovering any old BTC (I was not educated at all with BTC so I kept all the coin I mined on their website).

I eventually forgot about it until very recently. I do remember that this pool were one of the first if not the first to sell those USB Miners, unless they were the ones that made them.

I realize that this is very fuzzy, but if you have any idea of what I'm talking about please do share Smiley.
1294  Economy / Collectibles / [Mystery Auction] Box o' Collectibles ~ 30 minutes on: May 23, 2017, 06:28:10 PM
The time has come for one of these Auctions.

You are bidding on a box with unknown collectibles inside. The value of these collectibles are between $200-$700 with estimates made by me and minerjones.

You are bidding on the box and everything inside meaning you will receive the box as well (old coin collectors box in aluminum). The contents will be unknown until you receive the box and open it up. You can then run it through minerjones to make sure I did not take out anything prior to shipping it.

Once received you can decide if you want me to make the contents public here.

Starting bid: 0.00BTC
Bid increments: 0.001BTC
Shipping: $25 should cover worldwide shipping with insurance and tracking.
Sniping: Any bid made in the last 30 minutes of the auction will extend the auction by 30 minutes until no new bids are made.
Ends: 28th of May at the same time as this post went public.
Escrow: I'll only use Minerjones if you want escrow. You pay any associated fees.
Payment: Only ever pay to my Vanity address: 1HhampuzuHTDS5xYx3PqH7EcWqC7U29Sgz ,You will never receive an address for a payment in PM. Be aware of scammers!

Bid strong and Live long.
1295  Economy / Collectibles / Auctions and Sales Threads on: May 23, 2017, 11:51:23 AM
Can you please start using imgur instead of all these weird webites where the codes are all messed up and stuff? Would make it easer for everyone and I'm certain some of you would not have the same issues when importing pictures either.
1296  Economy / Collectibles / [Interest Check] Mystery Auction on: May 19, 2017, 01:26:13 PM
Would anyone be interested in a mystery auction? Where I'll provide pictures of.. let's say a box. This box includes collectibles but I will not disclose what is inside, that's the mystery.

I'd take full pictures of everything inside and catalogue the content and share it with a trusted member of the community, let's say minerjones. This will be done before any auction were to start.

Give me your thoughts, yay or nay.
1297  Economy / Speculation / ALTS vs BTC on: May 08, 2017, 04:24:35 PM
As of this moment according to CoinMarketCap BTC is sitting pretty at a $27B Market Cap. Altcoins from #2-#99 have a combined Marketcap of $25.35B.

What would happen if the combined top 99 Alts were to take over BTC in terms of Marketcap? Trading volume has most likely surpassed it by far already, but is it not concerning at all that we are looking at ATH prices for BTC while almost all the charts for ALTs are also trading at an ATH? Where does it end?

If new money is coming in, smart money, supporting BTC and helping with this increase, I've no idea why so much money is getting flushed down to alts. Speculation purely or has someone or some group made a big move here? Does not seem too unlikely, if they are not familiar enough with crypto why would they not spend the majority of their fiat on BTC and drop it down to all below in various amounts to make sure they are good regardless of which market takes a hit.

For me these are exciting but scary times. As of right now I'm not too sure whether to hodl, sell or even buy more.

Who is behind all of this? Does anyone have any clear view of what has made us spike in this manner, this highly unlikely and weird manner?

As you surely are familiar with the BTCC products I'll give a bit more introduction to FoS here. However if you want to check out more of the BTCC stuff just visit their store Here. BTCC is most likely the most trusted maker of Physical Bitcoins currently. They have a wide variety of products and all of them are sold at very affordable prices.

Friends of Satoshi is a collective of creators. Physicals and or digital to help spread awareness about BTC to the general public. There's a wide variety of people involved and everyone has their unique take on things, what brings them together is the common goal of creating BTC related content while connecting with the community and reaching it to potential newcomers.

The Sculpture that is up for offer also known as "Spirit of Satoshi" is the crown jewel of the collection we'll be offering from FoS. Here's a statement about it:

“Spirit of Satoshi” portrays Satoshi Nakamoto as a female freedom fighter, breaking through the tyranny of the fiat/debt-based economy. The sculpture was meticulously crafted with foreign currencies that have been discontinued as a result of hyperinflation and other economic instabilities. The base has replica U.S. notes as a reminder that it can happen in _any_ country. LED Lights illuminate the sculpture. This is a one of a kind Bitcoin sculpture created by Zynada Aurelio, a San Diego based painter and sculptor whose subjects range from the dark and whimsical to colorful fantasy characters.

There will also be a couple of Bitcoin Penny rolls that were made in correlation with FoS. Some awesome Prints made by Musbuh AND Vouchers for the Friends of Satoshi Version 2 coins that are coming out later this year. For all pictures see This

Myself and Minerjones will act as Escrow for this raffle using a multi-sig wallet to ensure security of the funds. The order that we place from BTCC will be shipped to me in Sweden where I will reship the prizes to all the winners. The FoS products will be shipped from Minerjones.

There will be a small fee that myself and Minerjones will take out for doing this. Anything that might be left over after everything has been paid for will be used towards the community. We will have full transparency.

There will be raffleceptions running throughout to give people a chance to join in at a discount.

This Post is subject to change at any time if any errors are discovered. We invite all readers to send in any faults they may find.

I will ask people to start paying for their tickets as we hit 60% sold. After that I'll give each participant 72hours to pay or their tickets will be made available to others.

Good luck to you all! Let's get this show on the road!
