1  Economy / Trading Discussion / Trading the market then vs Now... on: June 22, 2025, 03:59:56 PM
This is something I found in a channel on telegram some days back, I saved up the image on my device because I found the information to be so true, I decided I will post it here which I am doing right now 😊, but I don't remember which channel I got this from.

Trading then vs trading now..

Trading back then used to be based on how good one is with technical and fundamental analysis, profiting from trading back then used to depend on how good one is with the analysis and also how good the trader is with use of market and price prediction tools.

But today, things seems to have changed, today, it seems being profitable in trading depending on how much information you have access to and how early you have them.
We've seen of late especially since the Trump declared support for Bitcoin way back before he was voted for and installed as the US president, the movement of price of Bitcoin have been largerly centered on his statements and actions, technical and fundamentals analysis doesn't mean much anymore, most traders just wait to know what the US president says or does next to determine their next line of action regarding their trading decision, and I can't help but ask if this is the new way to trade?

By the way, do you even believe in this change that has happened or do you still believe that fundamentals and technical analysis is still the way to go in trading?.
2  Economy / Reputation / What can we consider this type of post as? Plagiarism or soft plagiarism? on: April 28, 2025, 11:28:21 AM
Well, no long talks but I came across this comment in one of the threads on gambling discussion board and I didn't like it, I feel the user is simply doing this to meet his post quota rather than contributing meaningful to what is being discussed on the thread...

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5539461.msg65324105#msg65324105

The user copied the first line of his comment from the comment that he quoted, and then added a few more stuffs to the comment to make it a bit longer, possibly to try to get his comment to the minimum number of characters required so the post qualifies for payment.
Remove the first line he copied from the other user, and what he has left is almost a one-line sentence/comment.

"The budget method is very simple.
Put a cap on your spending, as it goes. i don't know, you decide to spend 100 dollars a month, if you win and you have 200 you can play that If you lose everything in a week, we'll talk about it next

3  Economy / Gambling discussion / How To Handle Depression as a result of gambling addiction..? on: April 07, 2025, 03:55:34 PM
Hello gamblers...

2 days ago was a sad 😔 day for some of us as a brother was lost to suicide as a result of depression from addiction to betting..

It is always sad when I read about people who end up taking their own life as a result of depression, which is born out of addiction to gambling and other vices.
With betting, gambling becoming more and more popular as each day breaks, we ought to always reach out to our gambling friends, check on them and make sure they are doing OK at all times, we ourselves also need to watch ourselves individually, let's all learn to monitor our gambling habit, and dont hesistate to quit when ever you see yourself going over board with your love for betting and  playing certain gambling games, apply limit to everything..

And for those who are depressed as a result of addiction to gambling, all I have to say it....

TALK TO SOMEONE, CRY OUT FOR HELP, THE WORLD STILL HAVE A LOT OF GOOD PEOPLE WELL WILLING TO HELP A DYING SOUL RISE and LIVE AGAIN.
Say no to depression, say no to suicide.

Your condolences and contributions are all appreciated..
4  Economy / Gambling discussion / Fear of losing money to gambling on: February 21, 2025, 12:19:16 PM
And the simple question is - Should a gambler be afraid of losing money to gambling? Why not simply stay away from gambling then?

I was In a group chat on WhatsApp yesterday when a member told us he won his 5 odd bet was very angry still, he said it didn't feel like a winning to him and would have been better if he had lost the bet, many of us were surprised as to who in their right senses wishes themself loses in sports betting.

I later tried to find out what actually happened and discovered the dude had only put around $0.7 on the bet and won around $3.5 (amount not enough to even buy him a snack and a bottle of bear), this was the reason he was not happy and wished the bet ended in a loss 😁.

I later in the chat asked him why didn't he bet a bigger amount of money like atleast between $20 and $50, any of this amount would have given him a nice total win amount from $100 and above, he responded saying he initially wanted to bet $15, but he was afraid of losing this money, coupled with the fact that he wasn't also sure the bet would win, and I then asked him, why is he now angry for winning a small amount of money when it's completely his fault? And what is the essence of gambling in the first place when the fear of losing money outweighs the desire to win big amount of money?

5  Economy / Gambling discussion / My very first x51 win after a very long time on: February 08, 2025, 09:26:55 AM
Well, for over 5 years now, this is the very first time I can genuinely say I made a x51 win in sports betting and be able to prove it 😁, I am not actively betting, but I do it once in a while.

Sincerely happy over here, not particularly for the win, but more for the circumstances surrounding it.

This is a parley I did not analyze, no research, no audit and edit, no nothing, I simply got crazy and decided to do something crazy 🤪 as well, I was just watching the betting logs on stake, then I saw this 7 legs parley and decided to copy and bet on it exactly as it is.

Had no idea this will turn out to be a win, I'm not going to mention numbers, but I don't know what got into me, I actually bet an amount I wasn't sure I was ready to loose, and amazingly, I made a nice profit.

A very good proof to this thread - crazy bets may pay off sometimes from bitterguy28, indeed, crazy bets do pay off sometimes.

Anyone else ever had a similar experience as this?
6  Economy / Gambling discussion / Refused to take a cashout offer but ended up wishing I did on: February 05, 2025, 08:30:26 AM
Ever found yourself in a situation where it's like you are winning a bet, and the casino offered you a cashout that is more than x5 the amount of money you had put in the game, but you happily turned it down, believing you will definitely win the bet and get the maximum potential winning.
Only for you to logoff from the casino for a couple of hours, coming back later to check the game, you discover you had lost the bet..

Same situation I found myself yesterday night..

I betted 50,000 Shiba inu on the above parley to win over 3, 349,000 Shiba inu, the game was going on nicely and stake offered me a cashout of over 700,000 Shiba inu, i thought of taking the offer but later refused believing I have a good chance of winning the maximum amount of money, but coming back later to check the game, i discovered I lost the bet, this made me feel very bad, up till now, I still wish I had taken the cash out that was offered me.

Ever been in the same situation before? What's your experience like?
7  Economy / Trading Discussion / Is Forex trading really a Get-rich-quick scheme? on: January 06, 2025, 10:33:16 AM
I am looking to take trading activity very serious this year, I did not actively trade last year and I feel I missed out on a lot of opportunities.

And for the record, I have experience trading both Forex and crypto, but have never really taken any of this serious, and this year, I have this hunger to try to become financially independent from some of my current sources, and the fact i have not made the kind of money I want is another motivation.

I was thinking seriously on whether to start with trading crypto or Forex, I don't know which Will be more profitable in the short term, in the middle of this crossroad, I came across this tweet on X,

This left me wondering if actually what he said is true? Is forex trading really a quick way to make money online compared to crypto trading?

9  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Michael Saylor advices never to sell bitcoin... on: December 07, 2024, 02:53:55 PM
Came across a video clip on telegram

https://t.me/cryptothedoggy/4060

Michael Saylor is heard saying/advicing peeps to keep buying bitcoin with their spare cash and never sell, that he is confident that one day, he's going to be buying even more bitcoin at $1 million dollars per coin..

And I am wondering, is this his way of letting us know that he's not even ready to sell any of his bitcoin anytime soon?

Does he plan to hold more bitcoin than every one else? Possibly he knows something many of us seem not to know?
I am curious.
10  Economy / Gambling discussion / Any Good Reason why you would quit gambling forever? on: October 11, 2024, 09:25:27 PM
Hi ladies and gents of the forum's gambling discussion board, coming through with this question born out of an argument I just had with a good friend of mine a few minutes ago.

So, I was sitting side to side wit a good friend of mine this evening while having a chat about making money, we talked about several ways we can make a lot of money in the most possible short time, in the midst of the options we both came of up, I brought up the option of gambling, suggesting it to him as one of the most easiest and fastest way to also make money if and when one is lucky, he agreed it's a good option but complained about the possibilities of betting addicted, and as a result, losing back all the money after winning it, then I told him that if I won like $100,000 from gambling, I did quit gambling forever, he laughed and screamed impossible, he said that the more money one makes from gambling, the more they get hooked, we argued about this until we both decided it was time to go home and rest.

But then on betting home, I thought within myself if I can actually quit gambling for ever if I won a $100,000 like I said, and I concluded I can, if not for anything, atleast, for the fear of losing back all of that money to the casino.

So, here putting out the same question, what will make you quit gambling forever? A win or a loss, or both?
11  Economy / Gambling discussion / Unexpected wins vs expected wins, which excites the most? on: September 04, 2024, 07:50:07 AM
I don't know about any other person but personally, I've come to discover that winnings that are unexpected excites the most than the winnings that are expected, regardless of the amount of money involved.

Recently, I placed a bet on sports match, and somehow, I was very certain I was going to win it, the match started and at the end, I won my bet, odd was 1.4, not going to mention the amount I used for bet, but I won a good sum, i wasn't all that excited because it's a winning I had expected, in fact, I would have been more surprised if I hadn't won.

Then I remembered that some time ago, I was playing plinko with a random balance that was remaining on my account, I wasn't expecting any winnings, I just wanted to have fun and empty my balance, I set the risk level to "high" and was betting $0.1 on each ball that came down, I can't tell how many rounds I've played but soon enough, my account balance that was below $5 was already $40+, this money was not near the amount i won from sports betting but I was overly excited, possibly because I never really expected to win this much.

This is why I've come to this conclusion that winnings that are unexpected are more exciting than winning that have been predetermined/expected.

Feel free to comment your thoughts on this, or perhaps you have an experience to share, please feel free.
12  Economy / Gambling discussion / Draftking fined $19k for a player's $0 win after 20,000 spins on a slot game on: September 03, 2024, 09:46:13 PM
A slot player in Connecticut was said to have decided to play a new slot game that appeared on Draftking casino late August (Last month), but how ever, it was an really ugly experience after the player was said to have clicked the spin button for several hundreds of times and didn't get any winning, soon enough, hundreds of spins turned into thousands of spins, yet no winning.

According to the news, 522 other players from Connecticut also played the same game and did not get any winning after several spins, the issue was reported to regulators, meanwhile draftking had already carried out their own investigations and discovered that a bug in the game code set the game odd to zero, and for this reason, no one can win, Draftking then refunded all the players who had played the game the money they spent for bets but without telling the players what actually was the cause of the lack of winning, the game was taken down, bug fixed and then was relaunched.

Meanwhile after Draftking has refunded player who were affected a total of $23,909, the state gamming regulators slammed a fine of $19,000 to Draftking and another $3,500 to the game provider.

Click the shot to read the full news..

Meanwhile my personal question is, are slot games really provably fair? If odds can be set to zero, and no one be able to win, is it not possible that some casinos might be using this means or method to cheat slot players off their hard earned money?
13  Economy / Gambling discussion / Ever Hated someone because he/she win too much, when you are constantly losing? on: June 30, 2024, 10:32:33 PM
Hating, or not liking someone for always winning when you are always losing; we can say is a result of jealousy, envy, and fact is, some people really don't know how to control themselves with issues like this.

Take a look, read the story in the shot I share below, and tell what you will do if you find yourself in a similar situation.

- will you (for the sake of peace, maybe to hide your envy, jealousy) continue to go gambling with that friend? And continue to lose your money?
- or will you tell him point clear that you are no longer interested in going to gamble with him? How are you gonna do it so he doesnt suspect that you are not happy with his constant winnings, when you are constantly losing?
14  Economy / Gambling discussion / Will you put money together with friends to bet on sports games? on: June 25, 2024, 04:12:59 PM
Hi hommies..

So, just this morning, a close friend of mine approached me while we were in a small meeting with the power holding company that supplies electricity in my street( or rather, small community).

Knowing I usually bet on sports from time to time, he began discussing about sports events with me mostly centered on the current Euro 2024, discussion was interesting as i always enjoy discussions around football and all the arguments that goes with it 😁.

Along the line, he asked if I will be willing to join a group betting, I asked what group betting was, he told me it's just a group of guys like myself, coming together to join an agreed amount together to bet on chosen sports games, and if the bet wins, we take out the money with the profit and share it equally amongst ourselves.

It was an interesting idea to be honest, but I really was wondering if it was the right thing to do, remembering one incident that happened last year where two friends put money together in a bet, bet won, amount was really huge, the other stole the ticket ran away and cashed the entire money from a very far place, leaving the other guy with nothing.

What do you guys think, is this concept or idea a good one? Will you accept such request?
15  Economy / Gambling discussion / Gambling/betting shops vs Investment banks - Do you believe this guy's opinion? on: June 21, 2024, 04:52:24 PM
So guys, I found the below shot In one of my friend's story on WhatsApp, it is a shot of a popular Nigerian musician known as "Erigga - I believe that my Nigerian brothers here will know him well.

He was actually talking about the importance of investing to make money, but in emphasizing this, he talked about gambling houses and betting shops; only being found in Poor neighborhoods, while investment banks, equity firms, asset management firms are only found in rich neighborhoods.

While I tend to agree with what he said about making money generally, i am still trying to find any reason to believe that the emphasis he used is true, that is, I do not believe his opinion about gambling house verses investment banks to be true.

What do you guys think about this?

16  Economy / Gambling discussion / Have you ever won any significant amount from free spins? on: June 17, 2024, 02:56:14 PM
First, I did like to apologize in advance if something like this have been discussed previously and recently, I obviously took no notice of it and why I decided to make this thread. And also, the thread is based on my own personal experiences.

Hi gamblers, i did like to first say that I have gotten free spins from different casinos In time past, and they all gave me this very same result, but to cut the whole thing short, i will use my last two experiences for references.

I usually play very often on a telegram casino known as Whale 🐳, and the first time I join the casino, they gave me 50 free spins after reaching a certain level in their casino, I played the free spins on the casino game they tied to it, I was expecting to make good winning, but alas, at the end of it all, what I managed to win was just a little above $3.

And recently, about 4 or 5 days ago, they gave me another 20 free spins to be played on gates of Olympus, again, I was expecting that I did be very lucky to win a really handsome amount of money since gates of Olympus is a very popular slot game, and possibly with better house edge or something, but alas, after spending the whole 20 free spins, what I managed to make was just around $2.01.

I was obviously disappointed, and I kept asking myself, is it that those guys have programmed the system not to allow players win any good amount of money any time they play slot with free spins given to then by the casino?
And to confirm if this thought is true, I will like to have other gamblers share their own experiences too, maybe I am right, or not, let know what you think.
17  Economy / Gambling / [Just For Laugh] What kind of advice is this? 😂 🤣 🤣 on: June 11, 2024, 03:04:50 PM
Well, let me start by saying that this is nothing serious really, apperently, I was just scrolling down my reddit feeds and came across this post of a guy in a reddit gambling who said he was owning $6k as a result of sports betting, and obviously; he's not able to pay the money, and in other for him not to be disturbed by the lender, he changed his phone number, and he was asking for advice on what more to do to keep evading paying back that debt..

And another reddit user in the form of a comment chipped in an advice which after reading, I was really helpless with laughter 🤣🤣🤣, this is the funniest thing I comment I read on the internet today.

I just thought I should share, and maybe you guys have something to chip in too, find details in the shot posted below...

18  Economy / Gambling discussion / What do you really want from gambling? on: June 04, 2024, 11:52:07 PM
It's a question I asked myself this evening while playing a Slot game on a telegram casino.
I asked myself this question, and was puzzled for a while because I was actually confused of what exactly to answer myself, I wasn't sure if money was what I wanted from gambling, or whether I was just playing to have fun, or whether I was gambling for both money and fun.

And honestly, I am still confused, because I've thought of money being what I wanted, then "what is my actual target?, what amount will be enough?" is the next question I asked myself, and I realized I didn't actually have any amount in mind, and this made me conclude that money wasnt really what I wanted, but it's not fun either, cus I cant have fun if I am not winning, like I would always say, " there is no fun in losing money".

So, I thought I should throw this question to the gambling community here, maybe I could draw some ideas from your ideas and contributions.

1. What exactly do you want from gambling? Say it, even if it's something you don't think is possible to achieve.
2. What steps have you take to see if you can achieve that which you want from gambling?

Or

Are you like me? Gambling with no sense of goal, direction?

Let's have a healthy discussion.

19  Economy / Gambling discussion / Kicking/banning and or limiting a player for winning too much on: June 01, 2024, 01:21:12 PM
OK, so, sometime last week, a friend of mine got so lucky with his sports betting that he kept winning all his bets, he said himself that he wasnt even sure of some of the games he bets on but he somehow still won it, and according to him, after winning ten times in a row consecutively, the casino placed a limit on the amount of money he can bet in a game, he said he was betting around $500 or more each time, but after being limited, he can't bet more than $10, he got agree and decided to open another account on the same casino (his first mistake), then withdrew all the money on the first account, and deposited exactly the same amount on his second newly created account (his second mistake), and then placed his first bet, and when he came back to check, he discovered that both accounts has been banned, it turned out that immediately his bet on the second account won, the account was banned together with the first one, he's been talking with the casino customer care to atleast allow him withdraw his money, but they said they won't allow him access to the money until after 365 days, that this is a punishment for what he did, and because they don't want to forfiet his money, he must wait, and come back after one year to withdraw his money.

Now, I just want to ask us, if you own a casino, and a particularly customer is always winning, winning and winning, would you kick/ban the customer, or limit him or her?
And why please?

Why do casinos limit or ban a user when he or she is winning too much, but do not do the same when the user is losing too much as well?
20  Economy / Gambling / What is the Worst online Casino you've played on so far? on: May 15, 2024, 07:09:59 PM
Hi gamblers,

We frequently talk about the best casinos in different areas, like in design, user-friendliness, games offered, customer care support, userbase and so on and on, but I discovered that we've that we've never really had such discussion as patterned to the worst online casinos we've ever gambled on, so I thought it did be good we have a discussion on this..

So, I am putting out this question out to you - Which online casino is the worst of them all you've ever played on? And why do you consider this casino the worst online casino?

To answer myself, I would be honest, and that is that, I don't really have an answer to the question, I am not all that a frequent gambler, and I am a kind of gambler who could spend a very long time playing on one casino as long as I don't have any issue there, like I could spend 5, 10, 20 years playing on one casino, as long as they have all the types of games I love to play, and I never get to encounter any issue with withdrawal of my funds, and also, the casino operates well, I won't bother looking for another.
So, this has made me very limited in terms of the number of casinos I've played on in time past, and among all that I've played on, there is non to point to and say it's the worst of them all, cus I actually had a good experience.
