1  Economy / Reputation / Poor Translation/Automated Translation on: September 06, 2017, 01:15:09 PM
Another user with poor quality translation:  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=977756
His "translations" can be checked here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=178.0

There are  many wrong sentences, spelling mistakes, untranslated paragraphs and text images.

e.g: Original text of Oren Ann:

"Participating in the Presale will give you access to OREN coins at huge discounted rates. Joining early have better bonuses and hence also decreases the average buying price. Presale participants can also remain ensured that we will not hold any tokens as all unsold tokens will be burned. Therefore, the market will remain intact. We expect to launch the Blockchain live on the main net within three months after the Presale and kick off the ICO. Once it goes live, the Presale participants can redeem their tokens to OREN coins at a ratio of 1:1 value after the ICO is launched."

His translated text: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2153441.0

The term of "presale" translated into Romanian, means Pre-Vanzare

Another aspect is that, Romanian spelling contains diacriticals: ş, ţ, î, ă, â,
He is not using these diacriticals  in his common posts but  these appear in his translations. This means that he is trying to re-correct the text translated by Google Translation, ( Automated translations generated by Google Translate contains diactiticals)

2  Economy / Scam Accusations / BTCJam on: November 19, 2013, 02:55:20 PM
BTCJam is a site that allow you to lend and borrow BTC, also it has some credit rating features, it bumps up your rating if you give them your id and whatnot.

Except, that you can give them even your underwear colour, and default, and nothing will happen to you. I already contacted them multiple times, and they NEVER replied.

Another defaulted lender I had contact with, claims they promised him they would put a arbitration system in place, but when the big defaults started to happen, they postponed it, and they keep postponing it for ever.

The only times I saw a defaulter return money, was when that default received real death threats, and I think that when things come to this, it means things are NOT working, thus BTCJam should be considered a scam, since they have ZERO intention of supporting defaulted lenders in any way, and allow borrowers to default at will.

EDIT: this is not a question of waiting out, I send them multiple e-mails, over a period of 8 months already, they NEVER replied any of them.
3  Economy / Currency exchange / Cheapest way to buy with credit card? on: November 19, 2013, 11:47:34 AM
What is the cheapest way to buy with credit card?

I am guessing it is with BTC-E, but I cannot find what of their payment providers have the lowest total fees.

Also someone has any other idea?

I am from Brazil, but the exchanges available here (so I don't need a credit card) are very expensive.
4  Economy / Lending / Why people still trust BTCJam? on: November 14, 2013, 11:49:16 AM
Seriously, why people still trust BTCJam?

There are ridiculous amounts of defaults there, and they do NOTHING about it, all is left to people just tag each other as trusted or not. All the information they ask is useless, since they never act on it, and don't give the info of deliberate defaulters to loaners.

I only do not consider it a scam, because it looks more like incompetence than malice, but seriously, why I still see droves of people signing up for that site?
5  Economy / Speculation / Any way of buying based on RSI and other indicators? on: November 14, 2013, 01:21:58 AM
I want to know if any exchange has easy to access indicator data (instead of you getting boatloads of historical data and calculating yourself) or if a cheap robot service exists.

I want to get a warning, or do it fully automated, to buy BTC when certain indicators are at certain levels. This is not for fully bot trade, it is just to buy at times I think are advantageous, for long term holding.
6  Local / Português (Portuguese) / Querem comprar prata? on: November 12, 2013, 03:19:02 AM

7  Economy / Gambling / How to lose 350 USD in a stupidity on: November 12, 2013, 01:50:07 AM
Well... Here I was planning to have some fun with BitZino... Threw some serious BTC on it, and started playing, hoping it would last an hour.

And then, 30 minutes later, input a extra zero, and bet 1000mBTC by mistake... and notice after I press the bet button, and end with 30mBTC

I look at the screen, shocked, sweating, looking for a surrender, cancel, undo, whatever button, thinking I must NOT lose this.

And then I get dealed a TERRIBLE hand.

Poof, that is how you lose 350 USD in a stupidity.

Now I think cassinos should have a feature that warns you that you are betting 10 times or more than the average of your last bets and ask confirmation... Just in case you pressed a extra zero Sad
8  Economy / Currency exchange / Who directly accepts LiqPay or credit cards? on: November 08, 2013, 03:06:14 PM
I am having severe trouble to buy bitcoins, my government here loves to make giving up on our fiat very hard, and the most easy way is to use international card or liqpay, but I am finding noone that accepts it.

Can someone help me out here?
9  Economy / Service Discussion / There is a Bitcoinica clone yet? on: November 06, 2013, 09:25:17 PM
I want to do shorting and borrowed buys and whatnot.

Or just future contracts.

There is a bitcoinica clone yet?
10  Other / Off-topic / Rural bitcoiners, I need your help with my project! on: October 26, 2013, 01:18:02 PM
Hello!

I have a very long term project, that in short, is emulate a feudal area (not because it is sexy or anything, I have my reasons), ie: have a big farm, guarantee the farm is good enough to feed my family, and have some profits, and eventually build my own town, market, etc... Ie: take care of a good community.

The problem is: I am no farmer... I never been for more than one short half day visit in a farm, and although I have lots of farmer ancestors, I don't want to talk to them (they are not much... honest... also they managed to lose most of their lands to the government, now those lands are subject of a stupid war, lots of people die because of them).

I think my project would have a good start in buying a smallish farm, having some family agriculture style stuff, and use my tech skills to have some profits and expand (for example, by building a commercial hydroponic farm)

But beside that, I don't know jack shit, I don't know how people buy (or acquire without buying... here in Brazil seemly 60% of the farms were "conquered" not bought) lands, I don't know how to choose my lands, what criteria to use and why, I don't know how to find the land that I want, I don't know how to work the land...

So, anyone can give me some advice? It would be really great if the advice start in what criteria I should have to choose my land.
11  Economy / Goods / Forum BTC kickstarter on: April 09, 2013, 12:18:40 PM
Hello friends!

I am the coder of www.kidoteca.com

Packt Publishing saw it (and probably videos of my speeches somewhere...) and invited me to make Corona SDK books and videos.

The thing is: Their terms are horrible. Also they won't sell with bitcoin, and their terms make that impossible (the contract they want assigns all copy and moral rights to them).

I cannot create a crowd sourced thing on Kickstarter because I am not in US or UK. Also I want to get BTC

So what do you think forum? Want to help me?

Has a idea for a particular title?

My idea for a first book would be "getting started making mobile games" where I would explain how to create a simple game, that book would have between 50 and 100 pages, and would have a more of "step-by-step" format, starting with how to setup and install Corona, and ending with how to send your stuff to Apple and Android.
12  Economy / Auctions / 10.1 shares of Coin Hoarder ASIC mining operation on: April 05, 2013, 04:17:51 PM
A person that I was supposed to hold BTC for them from some years ago came wanting his BTC back!

Unfortunately, his BTC was on Mercado Bitcoin servers (the brazillian exchange that got hacked).

So I am willing to sell my shares of Coin Hoarder ASIC mining operation, all 10.1 of them.

Place your bids, and keep in mind that I won't sell unless I think it will pay the debt (ie: don't bid 10.2 BTC... the debt is higher than that)
13  Economy / Service Discussion / How I convince MtGox to return my money? on: April 04, 2013, 03:11:02 AM
Well, not exactly mine, but I am a angel investor in a mining operation that was going to liquidate our BTC (to buy BFLs... and we did managed to buy some! double bad luck!) with Bitcoinica, unfortunately Bitcoinica got hacked just a bit after the deposit, thus we have 800+ BTC stuck there.

So, when MtGox is ever going to give back our money? We need to buy Avalons! (since it is clear that BFLs will be laaaaaaaaaate)
14  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Need to recover my sister coins from old official client on: April 04, 2013, 01:31:48 AM
I Don't know the version of the client.

Anyway, the only information I could extract is this:

o seu endereço bit coin
1C69jwHJn9HsvyKyBcoUeWZLjnaDhXAF1V

Estado: 0/não confirmado
Data: 1/2/2013 15:24
Destinatário: 18cB1JqWs4QGZ43rkR2pmxBuen7MDpMXBm

How I get back those 9.8 BTC?

The intention was send them to mtgox to sell, but it never worked out (0/not confirmed) so... what now?
15  Other / Meta / Need a way to handle moderators when accused of being scammers on: April 01, 2013, 08:50:31 PM
A moderator (ThiagoCMC) is being accused of being a scammer.

I don't have a opinion about what happened, but I could notice that forming a opinion now is very hard, because several of the posts related to it got deleted. Since ThiagoCMC is a moderator, I guess he deleted the posts that were within his reach, and posts that he made himself originally (since you can delete your own posts I guess).

I think something must be done to ensure moderators being accused do not go rampaging destroying evidence. This is good for the accuser (since the evidence might prove the guy IS a scammer) and for the accused (since rampaging deleting posts look very shady...)

Yet, during the discussion I saw lots of personal addresses being thrown around, this also needs some sort of punishment, and post redaction (But not deletion, the addresses were inside posts with important proofs)
16  Local / Português (Portuguese) / Alguém me explica o bitcoinrain on: April 01, 2013, 04:17:42 PM
O bitcoinrain deu um problema lá...

Mas realmente, não entendi qual é a solução que o Leandro enviou por e-mail...

Alguém me explica?
17  Economy / Trading Discussion / Disaster is opportunity, get rich with Cyprus on: March 28, 2013, 04:33:34 PM
Well, I cannot do it, but I think someone could use the idea...

Cyprus now has forked the Euro, since the Euro stuck on your Cyprus bank account is stuck there, you might want to exchange it for Euro that is somewhere else, or bribe someone to move it to you... making Cyprus EUR be valued different than ECB EUR

Anyway, now you can bank on it sorta easily, open a bank account on Cyprus, and create a exchange, allow people to buy BTC using Cyprus EUR, and then to sell that BTC for USD or ECB EUR, that way you create a way to facilitate the bank run on Cyprus, but more important, you can profit doing it.
18  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Why the hell this shit was not tested on testnet? on: March 12, 2013, 02:15:02 AM
Seriously, you made TWO major changes at once (block size and database type) at once... And deployed in production and partially only (because not all people upgraded).

What the hell are the devs thinking? What is the testnet for? Testnet is not only to test userland code, but it is a fine place to test mining code too damnit!

Now know that from now on, you should ALWAYS test stuff like this on Testnet first.
19  Bitcoin / Legal / Why in some countries buying silver is so hard? on: March 06, 2013, 05:02:54 PM
I am from Brazil...

Here I cannot find anyone selling silver, and when I tried to buy silver form Bitcoiners that were professional silver dealers, they all warned me of crazy custom taxes here.

But finding gold here is much easier, although seemly also highly regulated, you have to buy the bars from major banks, and they come inside some plastic casing, and you are not supposed to meddle with the bars until you sell them back (to the bank), it looks like the government decided to use gold as a form of savings account, where you hold the physical gold, but in a more or less illusionary manner, yes, the gold is there, if you melt it ,you will see it is real gold, but it is inside a plastic shell that is not your property...

And silver...

Seriously, where I can buy some silver?
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / What ripple trust actually do? on: March 03, 2013, 05:08:50 PM
