1  Bitcoin / Mining support / S7 Fire on: May 24, 2018, 02:27:32 AM
I unplugged two of my S7's today and they caught fire a few hours later?  I had them connected to Delta PSU's 2400W each.  I  unplugged the the 6 pin plug from the main board on each machine and left the rest plugged in.  The machines appeared to shut down fine.  Would the chip boards continue to heat even though the main board was unplugged?  This is the only explanation I can think of.  Would greatly appreciate any input as this was a nasty fire.  I keep them on steel racking so the fire started and stopped there BUT obviously I don't want this to happen again.  Any help would be appreciated.
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / can't add GPU's to B250? on: May 11, 2018, 06:49:13 PM
I'm setting up a Asus B250 and I have 12 cards to add to but i got stuck at 8 (RX580's XFX).  When I add the 9th HWiNFO64 see's it and monitors it, the B250 BIOS recognises  it but Windows 10 device manager does not and nor does Afterburner (they both stop at 8  ).  I have the current version of Win 10 so the 1709 fix for this issue isn't or shouldn't be the problem.  I switched to SMOS to give that a try but it get's stuck at 4 GPU's and I can't add any more.  I have an excessive amount of power available (1 x corsair 850W and 1 x Delta 2400W) so this should not be a problem.  The rig runs well with the 8 cards at about 240 mhs with very little tweaking done but I obviously need to get these other cards up and running.  They are RX570's by the way.  Thanx in advance for any input.
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / New Build Issue on: March 12, 2018, 02:17:09 AM
I started building a 5 card (RX570)) rig with the idea being I would expand it once I got it up and running and learned a bit as this was my first attempt.  I'm using RX570's a Delta 2400W PSU with Breakout Boards (6 pin PCIe x12) Biwin SSD and I started with an Asus Prime Z270P MoBo and 8gb of RAM.  I have been unable to get the set up to work with the Delta PSU (Known good.... swapped it from an antminer to test and all worked fine with the S7) so I tried the set up with one card and a Corsair RMRX570 connection to PSU650.  While this fired up the MoBo it did nothing for the card.  In fact when I connected the card and turned on the PSU it clicked and shut down (Over draw or over load protection I assume?).  any way, I upgraded the PSU to an HX850 and changed to a new Asus B250 MoBo but again same result.  The system runs fine until the first of the 5 cards is plugged in and then it wont fire up.  I have searched and searched and I have yet to find a REALLY good setup guide for the delta powered system and I have yet to see a totally newbie guide to rig building the covers the micro details on the power supply hook up well.  I'm using 6-pin risers by the way.  So my question is what the hell am I doing wrong?  The powered riser is connected to the 6 pin peripheral & SATA plug on the PSU and the 8 pin plug on the top of the card has a 6+2 plug connected to the 6+2 section on the PSU via an 8 pin connector and I tried the 6+2 connected to a 6pin plugged into the breakout board on the Delta PSU and neither worked at all.
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Delta PSU Issue on: February 07, 2018, 11:54:10 PM
I'm having an issue setting up a new GPU rig.  I'm using a Asus Prime Z227-P with an HP SSD Intel CPU and a Delta PSU with PCIE breakout boards.  I have the SSD plugged into a PICO power spliter via SATA power adaptor which is plugged into the MB ATX plug and there's a PCIE 4 pin plug going from the PICO adaptor to the cpu power plug on the MB.  When I plug the PSU in the MB lights up and when i hit the power button on the MB the CPU fan turns briefly but stops.  It goes no further than this?  NOTHING comes up on the screen and system will not boot even far enough to look at bios etc.  I have a windows 10 thumb boot drive which I would like to install but I can't even get this thing moving past step one?  I can't seem to find a good tutorial on how to put this all together anywhere.  anyone tried this set up?  I purchased all goods from Para Miners and I have several of these PSU's running S7's so I've even tried switching it out for a different PSU to see if that was the issue with no joy.  Thank-you for any assistance you may be able to provide.
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Riser Card Wiring on: February 04, 2018, 05:08:38 AM
Has anyone tried to wire a 6 pin PCIE cable directly to a riser card rather than use molex or sata connectors?  I ask as I have several risers with male sata plugs and I want to use a Delta PSU with a PCIE breakout board.  I can't seem to find 6 pin pcie to sata power female connectors.  I hear the sata connectors are a fire hazard anyway.  So I'm thinking of a hard wired solution.  Cheers.
