2  Economy / Lending / Am an approved MtGox claimaint; need a 2 BTC loan; will repay 2.5 BTC on: November 15, 2018, 02:04:05 PM
Hello,

I have an approved, 2-digit MtGox claim. I need a 2 BTC loan and I will repay as 2.5 BTC as soon as the trustee disburses the funds (September 2019).

Please get in touch via PM.

3  Economy / Trading Discussion / Approved MtGox claim for sale on: January 31, 2018, 06:29:03 PM
Hello,

I have an accepted/approved MtGox bankruptcy claim worth around 250 BTC, which I would like to transfer for real BTC, at a rate of 4% at current BTC prices, i.e. 10.5 BTC. The following procedure must be followed:

https://www.mtgox.com/img/pdf/20150723_online.pdf

We need to sign a document together. And we will need to establish trust, and certainly use an escrow and/or a 2 BTC down payment before I sign the claim over.

This is your chance to make millions. In the most likely case, you should receive 25% of the claim sometime around 2020. I am selling the claim, because of financial reasons. I need a cash injection.

Please PM and describe your reason to buy this claim.
4  Economy / Currency exchange / Zendwire, an international wire transfer service on: May 08, 2017, 10:22:36 AM
Hello,

I have launched a new Bitcoin service called Zendwire, dedicate to processing outgoing wire transfers. We can convert Bitcoin to USD, GBP, CHF, EUR to mostly anywhere in the world.

No account required. We can process amounts from 0.05 BTC up (about $75), smaller amounts are not suitable for our service.

We charge a small fee. Give us a try.

5  Economy / Economics / How do central bank accounts really work - and who are their sysadmins? on: September 21, 2014, 09:45:36 AM
When the Federal Reserve decides to up inflation from 2% to 3%, increasing the money supply by say $10bn USD, they don't actually turn on the printing presses or mint new coins. This kind of money exists only in electronic form - they don't need to go mine for gold, nor print paper money. This inflation is created "from nothing" (believe it or not).

The Fed has the power to simply add a number to a database record that resembles someones bank account.

With my colleague at eCash.io we've been scratching our heads - why don't we ever hear of a heist or hack, someone adding a few zero's to their bank accounts? Either it is kept well from the media, or it simply doesn't happen. But that's the hard part to understand. Whereas Bitcoin is cryptographically secured, and no single individual can "add some zero's" to magically change 1 BTc into 1000 BTC, central bank's electronic money systems are not cryptographically secured at all. They are literally just numbers in a database.

In principle, if you think Edward Snowden was a security risk to the USA, imagine the sysadmins working for the Fed, who have root access to alter numbers for bank accounts. Why do we hear nothing of these people? Who are they? Where do they live? Of course, if we knew where they lived, they'd be in great danger, like Satoshi Nakamoto.

* Most people can't imagine that money can be invented out of thin air, by simply altering some numbers in a cental bank's database;
* Most people don't understand that "inflation" means "to create money out of nothing" (again, changing some numbers in a database)
* When we read about "bailouts", e.g. General Motors receiving billions, this is, again, just changing numbers in a database. Nobody actually had to cough up this money, savings accounts were not involved, the money came from nothing

This is financial power in its purest form: the shareholders of the Federal Reserve, a private company, have the power to create money from nothing, simply by changing a record in a database. If the people would understand this, there would be a revolution. Many billion dollar bailouts were done through the act of changing a 0 into 12,000,000,000.

Central Banks, therefore, have an incentive to cloud this truth with smokescreens, obscure language "quantitative easing, tapering", not to mention 'no audits' for over 100 years (apparently 2014 will see one). But I can't figure out why we never hear of some Anonymous group succesfully hacking bank account records. Am I missing something here?

6  Local / Nederlands (Dutch) / Zoek contact met Python/C++ en Node.js/Angular developer(s) on: August 22, 2014, 04:37:20 PM

Graag contact per privébericht hier of via linkedin: http://nl.linkedin.com/in/koenraadt

8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Proposal for "eCash" Ripple fork - your opinion needed on: May 24, 2014, 10:23:21 PM
Hi,

I've been following the recent fallout happening over at Ripple. The original founder of Ripple, Jed McCaleb, is threatening to dump his 9 billion XRP stash, which could clear the entire orderbook. It appears to be a threat to force the other founders, now CEO Chris Larsen and Arthur Brito, to return their ~11 billion to the OpenCoin foundation responsible for distributing the remaining 80 billion or so.

Not only has Jed left Ripple to work on his "secret Bitcoin project", Kraken CEO Jesse Powell has also left the Ripple board as of yesterday.

Jesse left an interesting comment at Reddit,
http://www.reddit.com/r/Ripple/comments/26ccz3/ripple_board_member_resigns/chpwhbs

With the Ripple being open source, he wonders why there hasn't been a Ripple fork yet. Jesse jokes about a Dogecoin Ripple fork, which, if equally popular, could kill Ripple. The point is that anyone can start a company like Ripple.

Ripple can be divided into two camps, as best described in another Reddit comment,
http://www.reddit.com/r/Ripple/comments/26ccz3/ripple_board_member_resigns/chpxxbr

Camp 1: A bottom-up approach: "Everybody can be their own little bank in their own little community." - a digital Hawala system, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hawala
Camp 2: A top-down approach: "Let's get banks on board so many people can use Ripple right away." - SWIFT 2.0

Ripple's leadership is pursuing the top-down approach to sign up financial institutions like German Fidor AG. But Ripple's inventor, Ryan Fugger, preferred a grassroots bottom-up approach, but failed to gain momentum. http://www.reddit.com/r/Ripple/comments/26ccz3/ripple_board_member_resigns/chpuhok

Is now the right time to attempt the original Ripple idea? How does the Bitcoin community feel about bootstrapping a bottom-up Ripple fork, with fairly distributed coin. Me and my co-founder working at eCash in Amsterdam might consider pitching such an idea to investors in Europe. We would call it eCash. ("eCash" was originally invented in Amsterdam by David Chaum, visionary cryptographer. )

However, my most urgent concern is whether the Ethereum protocol is already superior to Ripple, or not? And where does PaySwarm by Manu Sporny from the W3C organization fit in? https://web-payments.org/

9  Local / Nederlands (Dutch) / HDPHNS.com accepteert nu Bitcoin via eCash.io on: February 08, 2014, 01:59:20 PM
Beste Bitcoiners,

We gaan Nederlandse winkeliers direct in EUR uitbetalen.

Groeten,
eCash.io
10  Bitcoin / Project Development / [ANN] eCash.io - Bitcoin cold storage wallet service on: January 06, 2014, 07:32:13 PM
Bitcoin has been burdened with scams, robbery, theft, loss of funds through accident or stupidity.

At eCash.io we intend to solve that problem. We are the first company to offer a 100% cold storage service using Armory. The web server runs a watching-only wallet without private keys. The private keys are stored offline, on a computer never connected to the internet, at an undisclosed location. Funds are divided over multiple paper wallets, capped at 100-500 BTC per wallet. We are based in The Netherlands, Amsterdam, registered with the Chambers of Commerce nr. 55213170

https://ecash.io

Please test our service and let us know how to improve it!

Security features
  • SMS / text message withdrawal notifications
  • CloudFlare DDOS protection
  • Two-factor authentication
  • Security questions
  • Delayed withdrawals: you can cancel withdrawals up to 6 hours -- combined with SMS notifications, hackers simply have no chance.
  • 100% of funds in cold storage - no funds stored online
  • Webserver runs armoryd.py (Bitcoin Armory technology) and a watching-only wallet

Tell us your ideas for the most secure Bitcoin wallet on the internet!
As usual, startups are playing God by inventing all the features themselves. That's why I'm very interested in YOUR opinion.

What kind of Bitcoin wallet features are you looking for?

How can we secure your funds even more?

What other, related features would you use with a wallet? We're thinking of user-to-user transfers, email transfers, merchant services like BitPay, and so forth. Please let me know.
11  Bitcoin / Project Development / eCash.io - unbreakable cold wallet storage service on: November 20, 2013, 12:51:25 PM
Hi guys!

I need your help. I'm starting a venture for crypto-banking services at https://ecash.io. The idea is to launch wallet and merchant services for Bitcoin. Please give me your feedback, to build the BEST Bitcoin wallet online. FREE cold wallet storage service. It works like this:

Cold wallet features:
  • No contract, no KYC, no AML needed (storage only)
  • Bitcoin Armory webserver, i.e. with wathing-only wallets (armoryd; https://github.com/etotheipi/BitcoinArmory)
  • Watch-only wallets have no private keys - they cannot be used to send BTC, only to generate addresses and receive BTC

Account security:
  • username/password
  • 2FA / Google Authenticator (recommended)
  • Security questions upon each failed login attempt (optional)
  • Email confirmation required for withdrawals (required)
  • SMS text message notification for withdrawals via www.twilio.com (optional - your actual phone number is hidden, not shown in the account)
  • 12-24 hour withdrawal delay

If you want to withdraw 10 BTC, this happens: login with 2FA -> request withdrawal -> confirm via email -> receive SMS notification -> wait 12 hours.

Remember, this is a cold (offline) wallet service. We sign transactions on an offline computer, not connected to the internet. I will launch this early December 2013. Next step is a secure hot wallet (online wallet), and merchant services.

In early 2014 I will register as a Money Transmitter Company in The Netherlands / Amsterdam. Registered merchants can then accept BTC and receive EUR, GBP or USD payouts. P.S. eCash.io will not be an exchange, instead we will work with Bitstamp.

Please tell me your ideas to improve my service. Hope to launch very soon.

12  Economy / Economics / LPPL Market Watch: The Bubble Index: Bitcoin on: November 17, 2013, 06:34:30 AM
I asked the science guys behind The Bubble Index if they could apply their analysis to Bitcoin. This is based on science to predict market crashes. See this TED video.

Luckily they were kind enough to do the analysis:

Quote
In this post I will respond to a request to publish an analysis on the Bitcoin/USD index (Mt. Gox). Based on these graphs, there is quantitative evidence to suggest that the recent increase in the Bitcoin/USD has been the start of a bubble. While The Bubble Index: Bitcoin has not reached its highest levels seen earlier this year, investors in the currency should be cautious.

13  Bitcoin / Project Development / [FOR SALE] BitServiceX, a Bitcoin buy/sell/trade site built on Drupal 7 on: August 16, 2013, 08:44:33 AM
Hello,

I am putting up www.bitservicex.com for sale for 50 BTC, or make an offer. I also accept EUR, but sadly not USD.

BitServiceX originally focuses on the EURO/SEPA market with EUR trading, although the software can be adapted -if needed- to run USD instead of EUR. BitServiceX was founded a few months ago, focusing on EUR / SEPA trades. The site is built on Drupal 7 with several custom modules.

If you are planning to develop your own Bitcoin exchange, and know how to use Drupal, then this is an attractive starting point. B

  • Multi-lingual front-end: English, German, Dutch and French - most content is translated, including emails
  • Offers basic trading engine (on MySQL / PHP)
  • Offers extended admin overviews
  • Supports Google Authenticator account and withdrawal protection (with mobile QR code to setup Gauth)
  • Built on Drupal 7 www.drupal.org
  • Offers verification workflow: unverified user, verified user, verified trader (each with configurable permissions)
  • Integrates with Mt.Gox for direct-buy
  • Offers user email notifications for many activities
  • User passwords protected with AES 256
  • Integrated with Buckaroo payment service provider (in the Netherlands) for iDEAL, Giropay, Sofort
  • Server is Ubuntu Liniux 10.04
  • Server runs bitcoind daemon, used for verifying a Bitcoin address
  • Users can deposit funds to the server, which will be credited to their accounts automatically
  • Bitcoins are stored at Mt.Gox, not on the server!
  • All automated Mt.Gox transactions are protected with HOTP API access (you configure this in your Mt.Gox account as well)
  • Integrates with CloudFlare Pro/Business for ddos protection
  • Site is maintained with basic git repository
  • Site has a Staging site at staging.bitservicex.com (htpasswd protected) copy also maintained with git
  • Site forces use of https (you will need a SSL certificate - also works with CloudFlare)
  • Bad Behavior to block spambots / spiders
  • Many more features.... please ask questions

What is for sale?
  • The domain names bitservicex.com, .nl, .de, .fr, .co.uk
  • The fully configured Linux root server from HostEurope (costs 49 EUR / month); you can take over the contract for 50 EUR one-time fee

What is NOT for sale?
The user verification passports/addresses are NOT for sale. Although you can buy the user accounts, the passports will be deleted. I am legally not allowed to sell you such information. Such private information will be deleted, but existing users can still login and re-verify their accounts.

Why are you selling this project?
Like most Bitcoin merchants I have fought hard and long with my Payment Service Provider, and with my bank. Sadly, selling Bitcoins is no longer possible for me.

Who should buy this project?
Only buy this project if you know PHP/MySQL, Ubuntu Linux and are familiar with Drupal 7. I can provide some support during the first month post-sale, but after that you're on your own.

How to buy this project?
Let me know your offer via PM.

We can meet in person and complete the sale/transaction in Amsterdam/The Netherlands.

Alternatively, if you cannot visit Amsterdam, I can send you admin access to run the site, but will transfer the domains and server access only after receiving payment.

I will be on holidays until Monday, Sept 2nd. After that we can arrange the transaction.

Further questions?
If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

https://www.bitservicex.com/nl/trade

Onze beveiliging
- Site wachtwoorden / encryptie - AES 256 Rijndael
- Binnenkort met Google Authenticator optie

Onze limieten

15  Local / Beurzen / Nieuwe marktplaats: BitServiceX on: May 12, 2013, 06:25:12 PM
Hallo,

Voorlopig dus Bitcoin inkoop/verkoop via https://www.bitservicex.com/nl

Groet,
16  Local / Trading und Spekulation / Neuer Marktplatz - BitServiceX on: May 10, 2013, 11:35:07 AM
Hallo,

17  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / A Bitcoin Battle Cry: "Maru-CC" on: May 08, 2013, 09:04:04 PM
In the 1960's, a company named Komatsu Limited, wanted to defeat major US bulldozer company Caterpillar in their home market.

Under their slogan 'Maru-C', meaning "Encircle C (Caterpillar)", they succeeded. In the Japanese Go board game, encircling meant to capture your opponent's territory.

So I would like to suggest a "Bitcoin Battle Cry":

"Maru-CC" - Encircle Credit Card

If Bitcoin is the Bittorrent of money, then credit card companies are the new music industry. Let's not wait another decade - Maru-CC!
18  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Bitcoin versus Credit Cards, help Bitcoin compete on: April 20, 2013, 03:21:45 PM
Credit Cards provide certain functionality like recurrent billing. This matters from merchants' and customers' point of view. I would like to discuss technical implementation of such features on top of the Bitcoin system. It will make Bitcoin more adoptable by the masses.

The point is to make Bitcoin more competitive compared to credit cards. I'm not arguing for credit cards, just trying to invent Bitcoin workflows. Please help me design the solutions!

Case A: automatic refunds
Use case: merchants sometimes need to provide refunds. A Bitcoin transaction does not include a from address. Although you could do a blockchain lookup to figure it out, I guess. The implication is that Bitcoin cannot handle automated refunds.

Possible solutions: send a refund 'request' via email. Customer needs to enter Bitcoin refund address online. Automated script then processes the refund.

Alternatively, would it be possible to include a return address in a Bitcoin transaction? If so, then refunds could be automated. This is a valuable feature to merchants. Note, this is different from 'reversible' transactions. The merchant only uses the return address to return coins back to the sender via a new transaction.

Another solution would be to ask customers to "please enter your refund address" in case of a refund. Online wallets can play a role too.

Case B: split payments
Use case: the European Union has enacted laws that customers may not be forced to pay >50% of an online purchase in advanced. Split payments, e.g. 50% in advanced, 50% upon receipt.

Possible solution: again, using email. A merchant asks for 50% Bitcoin payment. Upon shipping he sends an email requesting another 50% payment.

Case C: recurrent billing
Use case: imagine dating sites or selling magazines etc. Recurrent billing (like PayPal or credit cards offer) is obivously not doable with Bitcion out of the box.

Possible solution: using email merchants can send periodic payment reminders. Customers would click a bitcoin: URI link to pay.
Perhaps a better solution would be to hold an online wallet from which to deduct Bitcoins.

--

I think online wallets are going to have to play an important role in these scenarios. But then you have a problem: online wallets are centralized systems. It would be better to implement features within Bitcoin itself, to keep the features decentralized.
19  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Best practice for merchants / Magento extension on: April 18, 2013, 05:41:12 PM
My company develops payment plugins for Magento Commerce. I'm about to release a free Bitcoin (JSON-RPC) extension (http://www.magentocommerce.com/magento-connect/catalog/product/view/id/17305/; once approved).

I have a question concerning best practices of accounts versus addresses. In my implementation I decided to use a unique account for each order number. This way I could track using bitcoind getreceivedbyaccount, even if there are multiple address (is possible). So I create a unique address for each payment attempt, stored under a wallet account for the order number.

For example:
- checkout attempt #1: order ABC = account ABC, address 123
- customer cancels
- checkout attempt #2: order ABC = account ABC, address 456 (new attempt, different address, but same account)

The hierarchy is like this:
Bitcoin wallet = Store
 - Account x = Order
   - Address y = Payment attempt

However, order numbers are linked to addresses in Magento. Is this considered a privacy concern?

Can anyone suggest a "best practice" for Bitcoin wallets, accounts and addresses?
20  Local / Markt / Magento koppeling voor Bitcoin on: April 17, 2013, 12:52:55 PM
http://www.magentocommerce.com/magento-connect/catalog/product/view/id/17305/
