As others have said Hitbtc can be slow to withdraw from but so far I haven't heard of them legitimately scamming anyone so its as good an exchange as any in that regard but just keep in mind that as a small exchange they may have a bigger incentive one day to run off with the funds.

The smart contract was never hacked, your tokens are safe. Unless you bought during the period their DNS server was hacked you will be fine.

Because of the cats we saw that the Ethereum needs improvements, need to increase the speed of transactions. But I still believe that ETH will be the first.
I don't see any short term fixes on the horizon, but PoS is what is promised for huge scaling in the long term. |

Actually we dont kniw what will happen in bitcoin august 1 if bitcoin price increase or decrease but for sure after the date of august 1 the price will increase because many people buy again bitcoin so the price will continue to increase again.
Nothing is certain but as you say bitcoin will probably increase, I see segwit as something that will give confidence and move us beyond all the drama we have seen in the short term. In any case the long term prospects of bitcoin have improved quite a bit. |

You don't need to exchange anything, there is a snapshot taken on the day of the fork. There is really no work to be done. It's just like the stellar and byteball airdrops, all you need to do is to import a private key with coins in it on the snapshot time.
Stellar and Byteball airdrops were different. They just neeed a signed message from your Bitcoin wallet. But BCC is going to be different. It requires the private key of your Bitcoin wallet to be imported in to a BCC-compatible wallet. So here is the best way to claim BCC: Move your coins from your primary Blockchain.info wallet to another wallet a few days after August 1. Once this is done, import your private key from your primary wallet to any of the BCC-compatible wallets. In this way, you will get the BCC and there will be no risk for your Bitcoins if something turns out bad. HI NETNOX I have some Bitcoin in an offline Multibit Classic Wallet, After the fork if I import its private key into one of the compatible Bitcoin Cash Wallets will I receive Bitcoin Cash ? Reason Why I am asking is if these BCCoins are going to be worth something I may as well avail of them or cash them in for bitcoin  If you have the private key you will always be able to retrieve the bitcoin cash, at the end of the day the private keys for bitcoin and bitcoin cash are identical. |

Seeking the current situation anything could gonna happen. It may uptrend to 3500$ if not face any further difficulties. But still looking to the present scenario it seems quite unpredictable.
Maybe yes att the end of the year, But it should also be kept in mind that in this year the price jumped from $1k to what is today, For that reason can not completely rule out a decrease in price,IMO if it is maintained close to the levels of $3k is a sign of solidity and stability. By this year end only $3500 ? I do not think so. I guess where we had started this year will not be significant enough to decide where we are going to finish up this year with respect to bitcoin price levels. After segwit activation I guess there will not be any hurdles bitcoin will be facing to have huge prices like $10,000 levels. Yes, I am expect prices to reach $4000 to $5000 before end of August month and then prices to test $10,000 levels by end of this year. In my opinion 5k would be more reasonable. But 10k would definitely make me happy ! 10k would make anyone happy but it's definitely not happening before 2018 or 2019. 5k or close to it will probably happen this year but I expect a correction or crash to happen at some point as well that will subdue the price for several months. |

The easiest thing for actual tech idiots is to just send the coin to an exchange that is crediting the bitcoin cash and withdraw your btc and possibly bcc after the fork.
Anyone who isn't sure of what they are doing SHOULD NOT be trying to split their coins themselves.

The domain is seized bu US authorities, it seems that it will be the bigger lesson for the unlicensed exchangers worldwide and especially Poloniex
Is poloniex unlicensed ? while its containment any exchanges I'll see him about the same thing with the exchanges that you have to look out for is manipulation of the withdrawal and deposit limits. Need to be careful while using exchanges. YES, poloniex is unlicensed and it's based in USA;same as Kraken. Poloniex doesn't have the New York bitlicense or any money transmitting license which is why it operates without fiat but it is a US licensed company that complies with KYC and money laundering regulation. The law says otherwise : a person is an exchanger and a money transmitter if the person accepts such de-centralized convertible virtual currency from one person and transmits it to another person as part of the acceptance and transfer of currency, funds, or other value that substitutes for currency.So, Poloniex is running an illegal business according to FINCEN. Poloniex is registered with FINCEN, if you think they are running an illegal business you should ask them why they gave them an MSB license. The key difference is that they are a money services business but are not considered a money transmitter as they never handle fiat. |

Now is a good time to invest because bitcoin will only gain confidence with segwit and on August 1st there will be free bitcoin cash to all bitcoin holders.
It's an opportunity to dump the free altcoin and accumulate more real bitcoins. I fully expect a big pump during the month of August.
