Although the entire platform should be run by smart contracts, so as long as the smart contract audit comes through and looks good, I don't think we have much to be worried about in terms another mtgoxing.

what kind of protections did you have in mind? like against chargebacks and stuff? I would sell here but I think it would be frowned upon. I might just gather some trustworthy people and form a small group on slack or discord, and deal with everything directly, so there are no fees at all (besides network fees).

Exactly man. I even stopped accepting Bitcoin because I was getting literally $5 out of a $20 sale because of the crazy fees. But there is no excuse for ETH or the other alts.
