The UK scrapping Bitcoin tax has huge implications. The trend is breaking.

Frankly who wouldnt do the same if in such position? We're talking about 100s millions that arent covered by any laws around the world. Bitcoin is totally virtual in that sens. So far, not a single bitcoin thieve got condemned.
Me. I do not steal from people. Its a rhetorical question in that sens that not everyone is honest anyway. I think he struggled for 3 years building that company against govs, FBI, banks, and is now having an anticipated retirement. And he got $100s milllions of reason to do so. Just saying its time to face reality. edit: http://psychcentral.com/lib/the-5-stages-of-loss-and-grief/000617But he's already made a ton of money, enough to retire. Stealing more just means he will have to look over his shoulder the rest of his life.

in other side note, if some how Mark the MagicalTux does some magic and recover the key (assuming this is the case) how do you think this will effect the price:
1- confidence is recovered and the media start covering the positive turn of the whole situation and people start buying crazy, and the next boom ? 2- people who have accepted the fact that they lost their coins and magically got them back and dump them right away on exchanges and price goes down ?
3- people who have accepted the fact that they lost their coins and magically got them back and store them safely like they should have done before

This has been one of the longest sustained rallies in weeks... hopefully it will lead us out of the downward spiral... now that gox uncertainty is out of the picture, I hope and believe we'll make it out now.
I hope so. I bought most of my stash in the new year bull trap, so it would be nice to break even. Especially because in real life I am completely broke!

WTF is up with Bearstamp. Don't they realize that these prices are already dirt cheap? Stop selling you fools!
most poeple sell at the bottom. I underestimated how stupid people are. I am kicking myself for not profiting from this. I am all BTC and I think it's too late now.

I withdrew 12 BTC from Stamp just a few hours ago with no problems. I do not have 2FA.

santa is coming with $260 coins?? NICE! Not unless there is some more devastating news. The weak hands have gone.

So if Gox fucks up people on other exchanges are expected to panic sell? Is this correct?
Maybe a dip. But I think Gox is mostly factored in on the other exchanges, in which case there might be a rise, when people realize that the world is not going to end.

The Chinese banks re-opening can only be good for the price. New Year, New Rally!

I took a risk and bought at $770 on Bitstamp using all my remaining fiat. Looks like I bought the dip Now I can go back to bed.

Tony Gallippi, co-founder and CEO of BitPay, tells me that the mass market run won’t end with the Kings, either.
“We are working with several other major brands and by the end of January we’ll have at least one more to announce,” he says. He won’t say who that is “to tip the hat of competitors” except to hint that it’s a well-known name in consumer electronics, which makes sense. “Look at the overlap between the demographics of people with Bitcoin and what they want to buy,” Gallippi says. http://techcrunch.com/2014/01/16/sacramento-kings-fans-can-now-buy-tickets-and-merchandise-with-bitcoin-via-a-new-bitpay-partnership/Worth staying in BTC at the moment IMO.

I doubt we will ever see sub $500 again.
Heard all this before the December crashes, but we have indeed seen sub $500 coins. Even without some Huobi inspired catastrophe, I could see Bitcoin trending down to low $600s, but with an 'event', crashing to much lower. Without a catastrophe, why do you think it will trend down? Since adoption is growing all around the world, surely it will trend up?

Bitcoin is fucked in China. This means a massive sell-off is on the horizon......
A lot of people are waiting for this opportunity. We don't need China as much as we think. Pump n Dump on international scale 'The Wall Street Whales' will weep. Sub $100 bitcoin is coming around the mountain.
I doubt we will ever see sub $500 again.

$400... Keep dreaming

Maybe more people are holding now. If Bitstamp had no trading fees then you'd see high volumes. The Chinese love this because they love gambling.

One way or another, it will likely be shut down somewhere in the future. And i dont want to be in btc when that happens, tricky part is to know when to sell and not be asleep or something.. For now i just went back to btc.
You are playing safe, which is commendable, but if you are long-term, a big gamble. The news recently has been huge and Bitcoin is spreading throughout the world like wildfire. You are passing on the chance to ride it up because of a possibility to catch a dip caused by something that might not ever happen. Thats why i just went back to btc after this huobi news/dip Im not saying im already acting on something that might happen, but if it does i will. Sorry I misread that you went to fiat. I must have just woken up. Good luck if you try to profit from the potential "crash", if/when it happens. I made a lucky trade after the BTCChina news in December and bagged myself 17 extra coins.
