Oh, also, I've always had this hunch that the anti-vaccine movement and global-warming denialism were part of the global banking elite's world population control program. Crazy weather and widespread epidemics could kill off a nice percentage of the little people while the multibillionaires sip human growth hormone in their air-conditioned bunkers.
Come on sheeple, wake up.
Quick question, concerning your population reduction theory. If the super rich are out to kill off the "little people" then who will buy the crap they sell in order to pay for the air-conditioned bunkers? And concerning the bunkers, are they there to protect the super rich from the remnant? I'm sure you know that I was being sarcastic.

And my kids have had MMR. >snip<a; for it's neither as effective as was claimed nor as safe as believed. It's price is much lower now though.
That's all fair enough. The only assertion I would make is that there is vocal, absolutist anti-vaccine movement that spreads hysteria and misinformation. We could do without these people's input, really. If you want to question what you're paying money to inject into your child's body, I'd say you're entitled to that. But when the rhetoric gets to levels such as Jenny McCarthy and Adam Curry take it, encouraging parents to not vaccinate their children against dangerous, highly communicable childhood diseases, I think it's any thinking person's duty to speak up and say no, that's not right. Not to mention that their rhetoric fogs out any truly rational discussion about the issue, such as whether 8-year-olds ought to be required to have an HPV vaccination.

"Statistically and effectively eradicating" a disease is a long way from making it extinct. Rubella, pertussis, mumps etc. are more than "moderately" dangerous. The vaccines for these diseases are less than "moderately" dangerous.
Vaccines are a miracle of human ingenuity. The Unibomber was a terrorist. Can't we all just get along?

Steve Forbes is kind of a nutball.

Looks good. Easy to use.
I'm not inclined to have an opinion on any of those questions you mention. I can see pros and cons for all of it. Gets me thinking, though. Will post if I have a thought that might be useful.

Too much neutral space around "we accept bitcoin."
And I agree that the colors could be better.
And also you could knock the "www" off the url, plus remove some of those tech names, or break them up into two lines. That's a busy block of text. To hard to read at 85 mph.

+1 BitcoinExchange
Someone could add these up and post a running total somewhere... just hypothetically speaking.

Nicely done. Pleasant fair and friendly transaction. Hope I can do it again. (Love the person-to-person way of doing business too.) +1

I think a stickied self-intro thread in the discussions section would be good.

You preach to the converted, I couldn't be bothered to answer his points in such detail here. Better to tell it to him. Oh, no. I for one am not converted. I have bitcoins that I paid good US cash for, but I'm not entirely convinced that this thing, in this form, will necessarily settle in as a real and permanent currency. The guy said in his blog post something about "where's your peer reviewed study." Well, this is the peer reviewed study. We're doing it right now. The weird thing about the bitcoin naysayers that I've read so far is that they seem to think they have to come down on one side or the other... well at least a few of them seem to. It's like they need to be the Smart Guy, or the one who "told ya so" instead of just thoughtful, or curious. You don't have to be a true believer to be involved with Bitcoin. You just have to be willing to take a risk. It's true, what ploum said. Calling people crazy and stupid on this topic is just a knuckle-headed way to go about making your point. The guy has some good thoughts buried in his blog post, but his aggressively condescending tone suggests that maybe he's unsure about his position and needs to bluster to cover that up. Further, there's no need to communicate with this guy, or to rebut him directly. He's dug in. Someone who makes their case in such absolute terms is not likely to change their mind even in the face of logic or evidence. So screw 'im.

Just read this. Would be interested in reading anyone's response/rebuttal. (Though the guy is kind of a dick in his manner, his reasoning isn't entirely unsound.)

This is awesome. Unfortunately I'm hopelessly non-technical so I'd have no idea how to integrate this into an application -- I'm hoping you or others will take up this challenge though. A graph would be wonderful by the way.
If you're interested pm me with a physical address and I'll be happy to send you a couple free bitcoin stickers for your work. Thanks again -- it's people like you who donate their time and talents that make me confident bitcoins will be here for the long run.
Thank you. This is a good project for me to improve my Perl & PHP skills so there'll be more to come. I PMd you, but forgot to click "save to outbox" so I have no evidence that I didn't hallucinate the whole message...

Fixed it. Rounding to 4th place now. Formatting still isn't optimal, though. Also, I forgot to mention that I had the idea of moving this output to its own Twitter page. If there's enough interest I can do that in the coming weeks.
