@Hawkeye99 no you are not doing something wrong however that problem could be avoid if you guys had created a backup before.

I have several backups and only now started getting the error 30974 related to a corrupted wallet.dat. Is there any way of salvaging the wallet WITHOUT having to redownload the whole fricking blockchain? I'm on 6mbit DSL... thanks!

I am completely new to NVC... downloaded the latest win client v0.4.4.6 and getting the following error on launch:

Any ideas? Thanks!

Q: Why I'm getting runaway exception while trying to start 0.4.4.6 client?

A: That's normal, it's happened because 0.4.4.6 update makes blockindex code incompatible with previous versions. You need to remove old blockchain files and resyncronize with a rest of the network.

Q: How to remove the old blockchain database files?

A: You need to remove everything except wallet.dat from your client data directory. Data directory is located at

Windows Vista/7/8/2008 Server: C:\Users\<UserName>\AppData\Roaming\NovaCoin
Windows 2000/XP: C:\Documents and Settings\<UserName>\Application Data\NovaCoin
Linux/*BSD: ~/.novacoin

I am running the "portable" nosetup version though...

"We'll give people another day or two, and then re-enable Payout Threshold payments."

Yeah, right. The same message has been there for a week now and threshold payments are still disabled?

"Worker additions or modifications are currently disabled. These will be enabled again very soon."

Yea, right. Same story.

WTF is going on with the pool?

After 8 hours of 2.5KH mining my Confirmed Exchanged is showing extremely low figure - 0.00205255btc . I sure hope this is just a display error...

So what's the holdup with auto-payouts, miner modifications, profit grahp, etc?
89  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Pool][Profit-Switch][Optional Auto-Exchange per Coin][Vardiff] ~ Hashcows on: January 12, 2014, 10:44:43 PM
Anybody have any idea of the profitability per MH/s estimate for this pool?
About .0074 BTC/day right now. Sad

The profit graph is gone from the site?

Could H20 remove all the addresses without any hashing power? Or at least remove the ones that haven't mined on middlecoin for a certain amount of time... It takes forever to load the main page and that's because there are so many addresses to load. More than half of the addresses on the page do not have any hashing power.

Use this if you want been working on it for a little while and everything seems to be ok minus updates are not updating for the past couple of hours as other have shown but you can go directly to your information by using the w={WalletID} in the url

http://www.bfpcoin.com

What do you mean by "updates are not updating"? My miners are currently mining at 2.4MH/s but your tool has been showing 1.4 MH/s for me ever since I tried it some 30 minutes ago. Is that what you mean? That this 1.4MH/s is some stale number from a couple of hours ago? Thanks!

As stated above. If you don't like the methods involved here then the door is right here:  'X'

You can always do it yourself then there will be no one to blame.

And what if I do like all the methods involved here except this single issue with the delayed trades? Should I stay or should I go? Please advise.
If you go there will be double.

But if I stay there will be trouble.

Profit switching, or multipools are often wrong.

Better to just mine what YOU think will be profitable.

The human brain > multipools.

However multipools are good for people who just want to leave their miners and go out and have a life.  But for the rest of us, we are getting rich by actively researching and finding out what coin will do better in the future, something a multipool does not do.

OK I have a question! (it might be a dumb one)
I've noticed this evening that my GPU's are running a few degrees hotter than usual. The conditions in the room haven't changed much and it doesn't feel uncomfortably hot in the room. So could the card temperatures be affected by the server? for example different coins, reject rates, difficulty, etc?
you dont seem to be able to understand anything of GPU/hashing/mining basics... therefore dont ask such questions

Wow, thanks for that informative answer.

Maybe you don't seem to be able to understand that you don't have to be such a condescending prick.
He seems truthful and wanted to express a general idea you have missed. Also I agree with him and I only see one condescending prick in this discussion.

I now see two condescending pricks in this discussion...

A total of 40.7815 BTC was removed and sent to address 13R87ropkDKzDEuVeQoX64kkcLvPWVdTKH. Hashcows staff have followed up with all major exchanges and a number of other large pools to confirm if they had any trace of this address in their systems, which as of this time has not turned up any useful results.

All transactions to this address happened on the 24th and the balance is still completely unspent. There were no outgoing transactions.

So how could anyone possibly have any trace of this address in their systems??

Report from the Mineshaft - The Cost Of Success (Middlecoin and Hashcows)
http://www.devtome.com/doku.php?id=report_from_the_mineshaft-the_cost_of_success

Let me get this straight. According to this opinion piece, ANY balance above a daily payout treshold (whatever that might be) is "fair game" to hackers and we have no right to complain about it being stolen or demand reimbursement?

Well I don't agree. Hypotethically, you could have been mining on Cows for just one day (e.g. the 23rd of December) and just before your automatic daily payout occurs on the 24th, the site is hacked and you lose everything. Hypothetically. Are you still not allowed to complain? How could you have prevented any of this? Manual payouts every hour? WTF do you draw the line??

Well, loosing one day of mining is not so big deal at all, unless You have 1THS

The whole point is that to say anything like that is quite arbitrary and no one's business really. In principle, even losing 0.001BTC to the hack is not the miner's fault, so why should I not demand a compensation?

Lost 0.6 BTC to this hack. Wow, what a Christmas.

Bracing for the worst, hoping for the best now. We need a straight up answer -will we get reimbursed or not?

website down for me as well and my miner NOT connected for about an hour now Huh Huh

Some of my miners are still connected but others (connecting from a different IP) are reporting "Failed to getaddrinfo for stratum01.hashco.ws:8888"
i'm mining at a different pool at the moment but i just checked my cgminer(have cows as a failover) it's showing dead for me

As I said one of my locations has 2 wokring miners and they are showing Cows as "alive". the others are displaying the "Failed to getaddrinfo" dead message, but they are connecting from elsewhere.
