I see the first stage of the ICO is over and the site is changed. Anyone knows how many ETH has been contributed this stage?
262  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: RISE | DPOS | APPS & DAPPS | Mobile App Store | Blockchain Incubator | Rewards on: December 10, 2017, 02:26:31 PM

I am holding rise from last 3 months. In btc price i am almost in 75% loss but i am still positive about project. There is need of marketing for rise. It should be around 2 to 3$.

I agree. Especially if you look at the prices of similar projects like Lisk, Rise should be worth more than $.35
Waiting patiently for the day Smiley
263  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ICO] (CED) CEDEX 1st Ever certified blockchain diamond exchange on: December 09, 2017, 07:48:17 PM
This looks very interesting. The option to trade coins for diamonds is incredible!
Following this..
264  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: +75% jump for Litecoin on: December 09, 2017, 06:24:47 PM
I was wondering this myself. Maybe indeed the tx fees for bitcoin are insane.. and people's usual second, Ethereum, is jammed (I waited 3 days for my transaction to go through!). So LTC might be the 3rd choice.

I think people ate beginning to get afraid of bitcoin's soaring prices. Anything could happen.
So switching to 'lite' bitcoin wouldn't hurt, you know.
Possible.

Another possibility is the transaction fee in Bitcoin is getting expensive and the transactions are going quiet slow so altcoins like LTC would be a good chpice to use when transacting. Low fee and faster confirmation especially if you plan now doing arbitrage in Bitcoin's price differences across the exchangers at the moment.

Wow. That arbitrage comment just blew my mind wide open.. I've been reading about this arbitrage and seen some tracker sites, but never gave it that much thought, so never tried and figure out how it works. But reading this little piece of info, I can put the pieces together myself.. always great to learn new things Cheesy thanks!
265  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: RISE | DPOS | APPS & DAPPS | Mobile App Store | Blockchain Incubator | Rewards on: December 09, 2017, 09:54:01 AM
I am seeing a lot of negative comments and fud about rise but i believe in this project and i hope this project will long last.

They've been attacking this project since last year and spreading FUD all over the internet on how this project is doomed. Well, as you can see, the project is thriving even harder than before and the price itself recovered a lot from its bottom days. I also recovered my Rise token from the ICO days with the help of McVenture through their Telegram channel. I must say that they did a great job in recovering those lost tokens for the community. Their channel is very active and many people are always chatting there. People should take a look at it to see all the updates that Rise has for the coming months.
People only buy on top when whales already accumulated. I am holding rise from last 4 months and i will not sell any until 10x.

c'mon man you have to be realistic.  With the way Rise has bee performing, I don't think we'll even see 2x for quite awhile.  I mean since 4 months ago, it has consistently gone down.  I hope the launch of their incubators will help some but seriously there needs to be better marketting for this coin or else I think it will end up dead and I'm saying this as a Rise hodler.

Actually the price was ~$0.01 in May and it spiked to ~$0.08 in August. So if you truly jumped in 4 months ago, you're sitting on ~5x gain at current price. The price has been fluctuating between $0.45 and $0.25, which at the low point is still a 2x gain on your investment 4 months ago.

If you say it's consistently gone down, there's no other explanation than that you bought in on a high point 3 months ago (End of Aug/Beginning of Sep) when the price spiked to ~$0.45 or you're an ICO holder. In any case, you have to be fair about the data you share.

If there's going to be another 2x gain? Who knows.. there are new projects launching on the platform and in a lot of cases that's an indicator of new gains. But nothing is promised.. since I bought in around May, I'm sitting comfortably now and will HODL to see what the new projects do with the price of Rise.. it's worth it for me.

Good luck!
267  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: As of today, Steam will no longer support Bitcoin as a payment method! on: December 07, 2017, 12:30:54 PM
I'm not really surprised. As it is now, Bitcoin is not a good option for payment services.. the tx fees are ridiculous and confirmations take too long. Even banks do "instant" transactions nowadays, so a solution needs to be found for this.

They are starting to compare Bitcoin to gold, which at the moment is a more accurate analogy investment-wise, if you ask me.

I call bullshit. Banks do it only between accounts within the same bank. You can't have an instant transaction between different banks and you can't have money sent during weekends and at nights. I have been doing it for many years and my last transaction sent on Monday needed over 24h to appear on the account of my friend in a different bank within the same country. My another transaction that was sent on Saturday arrived on Tuesday (!) because they don't work in the evenings, nights, on Sundays, and it takes up to 48 hours anyway.

Good thing you don't have to use your checking account to buy games from Steam, you can just use a debit card.

Bitcoin can not be gold if it loses its utility. Gold/Silver became store of wealth because they have huge amount of utility in jewelry and industrial.

You both have some valid points.

@darkangel11 I put "instant" in quotations, because I know they're not there completely yet. Banks in general don't work in the weekends and nights, but in my country if I send money from my bank to a different bank and it's made before 12 in the afternoon, the amount will show up in the other account the same day! I think it's a small step to achieving this all day and then weekends. Especially if they want to combat Bitcoin on that front.

@kokojie I do believe Bitcoin has some similarities to gold. I've seen it happen; when the stock markets dip, people move to gold and increasingly more to Bitcoin as well. In the crypto space, Bitcoin has a similar role of stability. People go back to Bitcoin to store profits or dampen losses. But you are right; if Bitcoin loses its utility, it will no longer be used as a store of value/wealth. It actually can never BE gold because BTC is what it is and gold can be refined as you said Smiley
268  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Pending Withdrawal on Cryptopia on: December 07, 2017, 12:10:04 PM
Hi guys,

I withdrew some ETH coins from cryptopia to another ETH address. After 30 hours I havent received anything
I confirmed the withdrawal email immediately and the status in my cryptopia account is "completed".
I submitted a ticket today and waiting for their response.

Guys, eventually I received the ETH in my wallet. Should have been around 20 hours. Dont know if it was due to ETH network congestion or some glitch on Cryptopia side. Either ways, I think that was way too long.

Yea, there was a big backlog on ETH transactions due to the network being jammed. I withdrew some ETH 20 hours ago and it's still processing.

I contacted CS and requested a cancelation, but no response for over 12 hours. Did they ever reply to your ticket?

I got a spike to ~80k USD on Blockfolio today. Was that an error or did someone really buy some for that ridiculous price?

finally i experienced being a multi-millionaire for a couple of hours  Tongue Tongue Tongue

Lol, yea.. too bad you can't withdraw directly from your blockfolio to your bank account Tongue

Good job in posting the link to the new thread in the old thread this time. Hope people will find their answers here, because a couple of them had legitimate ones.. and I'm curious as well Smiley
273  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Blockfolio ~Bitcoin and Altcoin Portfolio App~ Android and iOS on: December 02, 2017, 06:47:30 PM
FEATURE REQUEST:

It would be really helpful (at least to me) to set Alerts with fiat currency. It's very helpful for me to get an Alert when a coin hits $.01 for example, no matter what point in time I set the alert.

Because the BTC price is constantly changing, it's not very useful to me to get alerts for a coin when it hits .003 BTC, because when I set the alert, that could correspond with $1, but when the coin really hits .003 BTC and I get the alert, .003 BTC corresponds with $10. So I'd prefer to be able to set Alerts in fiat currencies.

The app is working fine again btw.. thanks, team!!

You can do that!

But you have to set the alert in the USD pair, instead of the BTC pair.

For example, if you search by ethereum you have a lot os pairs available. If you choose ETH/BTC the alerts will be in BTC, but if you choose ETH/USD you can set the alerts in USD.

Wow, you're right. I didn't even think of that.

But then comes the next thing. The coins that I want to keep track of are not all paired with USD or EUR.. so the feature that I requested would still be useful in those cases.

But thanks for the pointing this out Cheesy

YGung is right. I'm not sure what address is for the coin associated with this thread. That should be clarified to stop confusion.

Do you offer bounty for translation the whitepaper?

Check the OP for a list of other languages. I don't think they're looking for other languages, but you can try Smiley

Found this new thread today! Good to see the project is picking up in the right direction again.
I'm a PreSale investor and I'm following the ICO closely.

Good luck, team!

dev team, it's very necessary to make "backup" option

I don't want to overcompliment ourselves but I think they're a bit afraid to launch the backup/export option since Delta (https://getdelta.io) came along. It would make it much easier for lots of BF users to make the switch, so I'm guessing this is why they quietly ditched the plan to do this. Or they're looking for a way that doesn't expose the data to the users.

And truth be told, we'd probably would offer a way for users to then import their data to Delta. But we'll also allow for data export (in CSV format) soon, which would mean they can do the same basically. But hey, we're not here to judge their business, I understand their reasoning. Smiley
Just downloaded Delta and I see no reason at all to keep using it.. just a slightly prettier version of Blockfolio with less focus on numbers.

Well, we have support for ICO's, multiple portfolios, deduct from holdings and we're launching CSV import/export + API import + desktop version before the end of the year or by end of January the latest.

So wouldn't call that 'no reason at all to keep using it'. Wink

I have Delta installed right next to Blockfolio. Yes, the interface is prettier, but I really did not feel like entering my entire portfolio and transactions again.

Seriously considering it now that Blockfolio has been disappointing me for days in a row.. another reason to use it Smiley
279  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][500K COMPLETED] Wi-Fi Global - dec. WiFi | Monetize your router on: November 29, 2017, 12:01:41 PM
Within two days, more than 100,000 Airdrops were issued!
Due to technical difficulties, other participants will not be able to get their tokens yet.
They will be issued after the end of ICO. Thank you for understanding!

Can you be more clear on the aspect of technical difficulties  and who we're this persons that got the 100,000 Airdrops?? because from my observations, ain't seen anyone that received

How about a spreadsheet to make the process transparent and allow to check if own registration was correctly entered?
I was really excited about this project but a lot of things seem to start putting their weight on the wrong side of the scale... first an abandoned project of the same dev, then i was selected for translation service, sent and re-sent the e-mail to get translation material and got no reply, and now it seems that the tons of people that applied for airdrop ang got their money just shut their mouth and walked because i couldn't find a single post about someone recieving it.... and technical problems distributing money for someone that will build a global wi-fi network seems fishy...

please dev, this can be a great project, can you clear these points above??

This summarizes my experience exactly. I was excited about the idea, I got selected for a translation, sent the mail but never got any response.

Joined the airdrop as one of the first when the form was still up (it went down later), followed twitter and contributed to the thread as required. I found it odd that the airdrop dates were opening and closing while the pre-ICO was still running and at the same time they were saying airdrops were starting after pre-ICO. That's a backwards way of doing things, but okay.

Come today.. airdrops were supposedly started a couple of days ago, but no one can confirm this. This could go sideways real quick! We need more and clearer communication from the team!

Hello,

Bitmain has also its own mining router. Which would be the main difference with yours?

Thanx!

This project is not about a mining router. It's about using your router to grant everyone free internet access, while you get paid from advertising money.
