421  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [OS] nvOC easy-to-use Linux Nvidia Mining on: June 26, 2017, 01:53:22 AM
Hi guys, I have a 7x card 1070 rig which has been rock solid for 99% of 2 weeks.

On two occasions it seems to have lost internet connection  ( it is hard wired to the router / not wifi )

Killing the session and restarting it does not solve the issue however turning off the rig and resetting does fix the issue.

Has anyone else experienced a similar issue or seen this with certain settings?

When the console says that internet connection has been lost it seems to be correct as opening a fresh web page says the same thing.

Just weird that resetting the rig through power off/on fixes the issue, cheers!!

I have the same issue.

DGB skein is less profitable than ZEC now, don't mine it.
424  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 6 GTX 1070 Rig Only sees 5 cards on: June 23, 2017, 03:42:05 AM
Hey guys! Long time lurker, first time poster hoping to get some insight from the pros here.

I have a few 6 GTX 1070 rigs that I've been running for about two months now. I generally do nicehash, but have done Claymores on the occasion. These rigs are running on either ASROCK H81 BTC boards or the Biostar TB85. The mining went relatively smooth for 2 months with no real major issues, but then out of the blue, these boards start to only see 5 of the 6 cards. My first thought is that the cards are dead, so I swap them around, but they work in other PCIE ports. I then think the risers might be dead, so I swap those around, but they seem to be good (tried 3 or 4 different sets). I then think that maybe the PCIE port has died, so I swap the known good cards around, and that is not the issue.

Every time I swap these cards or risers around, one of three things happen:
1. All 6 cards are plugged in and it will only recognize 1 of them.
2. Multiple cards are plugged in and it will see 1 less than is plugged in (ex: 5 cards plugged in, device manager sees 4).
3. Any cards are plugged in and device manager sees nothing

Me and my Dad have spent quite a few hours trying to figure out what is going on, but we are at a loss. These GPUs were literally working fine mining at full force a few days ago and nothing changed at all since then. And now it's happening to multiple rigs on different motherboards. I've read through a lot of posts here and I can't find anything exactly like my issue or a solution. I feel like I've done every major troubleshooting step I can think of. We're running Windows 10 and I have to wonder if some update happened and caused this, since it's the only common thing across these machines.

Any help or insight into this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks all.

Which PSU do you use to drive 6 gtx1070?

I got this mobo and run 7 cards successfully, I will try 8 cards.
427  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GTX 1050ti Ethereum Mining Rig on: June 22, 2017, 03:09:23 AM
I want to set up a rig for eth/etc and i found 6 gtx 1050ti cards at a reasonable price here in europe (140€ each) , here are the specs:

- VGA 4GB MSI GTX1050 TI 4GT OC
- Base Core Clock 1341 MHz
- Boost 1455 MHz
- Memory Clock Speed 7008 MHz
- Power consumption 75w

How many MH/s do you think i can reach with this card? Do you think it's worth it? What software would you recommend?

Read my first post I have done some research and I've updated it. I'm getting ~14.8 MH/s with my GTX 1050ti.
Did you try to dual mine ETH+LBC? looks it is more efficient.

msi z170a gaming m5 has 7pcie and 1 m.2 slot, is there any body use the m.2 slot to create A 8 card rig?
430  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Can I Convert the SATA power to 6 PIN PCIE for the GPU? on: June 19, 2017, 09:25:49 AM
sure, you can. They are all 12V.
431  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GTX 1050ti Ethereum Mining Rig on: June 19, 2017, 03:40:01 AM

Set Up:
I first tried Win10 with latest NVIDIA drivers, but GPUs worked at around 2.5 MH/s each, which is pretty darn terrible. I downloaded each driver available from NVIDIA but NOTHING seemed to move it above 2.5 MH/s.

I have this same problem with a fresh install of Win10 and claymore dual miner.   I've been working on this problem for a couple weeks when i have time.   It only happens with a fresh install of Win10 with only nvidia 10x0 cards.  Do all the updates and everything and still only 3 MH/s per card.

I run into the same issue days ago and followed this post to resolve it, have fan:

432  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 1080 Ti Builds on: June 19, 2017, 03:01:37 AM
There seems to be some variation in what people are doing.

Guys like Philip Ma are doing two 1080 Ti's and a 1070 mini.

Others are doing 8 Ti on a z270A mobo.

What are some of your favorite builds.  Which motherboard are you using.  Which model of card?  What are the pros and cons of your build?

I haven't found a efficient way to use the 1080ti.
ETH hashrate is low, about 35 MH/S. DGB-skein hashrate is high, about 950 MH/S, but the price of GDB becomes lower, any ideas? Which coin do you mine using the 1080ti?
433  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Best gpu for mining ? on: June 19, 2017, 02:26:50 AM
The best in stock GPU i think is GTX 1070. I am building a rig with that.

which coin do you mine?
434  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Best gpu for mining ? on: June 19, 2017, 02:18:55 AM
recently I tested GTX1080ti, 1070, 1060, 1050ti and I think 1060 is the best.
ETH hashrates: 35, 30, 22.5, 13.5, consider the price and power consume, 1060 is the best. Why ETH? Because it's price is increasing continuously.
1080ti and 1070 are good at DGB-skein, but the price of DGB goes down.

Since 1060 is out of stock everywhere, I'm going to build a 1050ti x 7 rig to mine ETH.

best regards.

It's so cool.
I was a c# developer and started mining days ago, maybe I can contribute some code. Grin

437  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: CCminer(SP-MOD) Modded NVIDIA Maxwell / Pascal kernels. on: June 16, 2017, 02:45:28 AM
AMD 100% is the best choice right now if you exclude the shortages. If you can get your hands on 580s for less then $300 or even $400 they're worth buying. They use the same amount of energy as a 1070 (give or take), and you can mine mainstream coins with them to get decent revenue.
While $300 is indeed a good price for 480/580 8gb cards, I see no point buying them for $400. That's a GTX 1070 price, and I think it's just a better card overall. Better in gaming, and better in most mining algos. I mostly have 1060s and 1080s in my nvidia rigs, but just yesterday added a 1070 to one of them. Without much tinkering, it's mining ETH at 31 MH/s (+700 MHz Micron memory) @ ~110W, so pretty much on par with Polaris. It's a lot faster on Equihash though (~450 sol vs 300 sol). Slower in cryptonight (no one is mining it with GPUs now, but still it's a mainstream algo so should be mentioned). And while there are of course niche algorithms that run faster on amd cards, for the past year or so nvidia did have more of those. Lbry, Lyra, Skein, Neoscrypt - those are just what came to mind instantly. I can't recall anything like those for AMDs at the moment (they most likely exist, I just don't know or don't remember any).

I'm not a fan of anything and don't care about brands at all, but when presented with a choice between amd 580 or nvidia 1070 for the same price — I'd definitely get the nvidia. Simply because it's a more powerful gpu overall.

Great, now I have a rig with 1080ti x1, 1070 x1 and 1060 6g x2, which algo should I mine to get most profits? thanks!

not a good  idea, try to use pcie 8pin converters.
