Stablecoins like UST, USN, USDD have a very tricky link to the dollar and the collateral pool, in the form of a native token of a particular blockchain, be it LUNA, NEAR, TRON, etc. Such projects offer or are about to offer 20-30% per annum in staking these stablecoins. Not a bad interest rate, is it? But will these projects be able to provide such a high interest rate all the time, and won't that provoke a cascading collapse of both the stablecoins, with the loss of the peg and a cascading collapse of the native tokens that act as reserve collateral?

Bad news that Binance started suspending this coins. as soon as possible for you to withdraw LUNA coins stored on the Binance Exchange!

UST is an algorithmic stablecoin a.k.a. backed by the LUNA token. Hence it's pretty much almost backed by thin air; hence why Luna Foundation Guard had to purchase a good amount of bitcoin to protect the peg if it's the case that there's a bank run.
And yea, it happened:
Peg broke due to UST having a huge bank run, with people selling the UST for other stablecoins (hence pushing down the price of UST). Now for the peg to be restored to $1, Luna Foundation Guard had to liquidate a crap ton of bitcoin on their reserves just to push UST back to $1, further pushing down the downward pressure on BTC.
unfortunately the way they did it didn't work. UST didn't recover, bitcoin crashed, and LUNA died. it's over, Luna and UST can't be helped anymore. this project is dead. I wouldn't be surprised if in the next few days there will be a lot of exchanges delisting Luna from their platform. |

This is a good time to go out cheap on Luna, yea it has lots of problems presently but buying at 0.77$ and selling at 5$ today is great return, not only that, just because this project has a big issue now doesn't mean its the end, this is not a financial advice but taking risk with just 10$ - 20$ might worth it.
I doubt Luna can return to normal. this problem is very big and makes everyone lose faith in this project. although it looks profitable because it makes a quick profit, but I doubt this method will work the second time around. because right now the price of Luna has stopped moving. maybe this is already the lower high for this coin. and after this it will probably start going down without a pump. |

I always believed that whenever a bear market came, it would change the order of the top coin lists. many coins that were once on top but lost when the bear market ended. new and better coins will always be replaced, this keeps repeating every time a bear market comes. 2018 saw us EOS, XLM, LTC or XMR top the list. but now the top list has changed to be filled by BNB, ADA, SOL, LUNA, DOT and AVAX. On average, coins that are ranked at the top are coins that were developed during a bear market ahead of a market recovery.
