I mined on http://btg.binarycoins.eu/ and was waiting for confirmation to get over 15 BTG...

When I logged in today 0 shares 0 BTG...

Whats the problem? SCAM?

It looks like he cleared the pool and started from scratch.

I also had a few unconfrimed BTG's.

Sido?
162  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Abort Cryptsy on: May 25, 2013, 12:51:08 AM
vern seems like a great guy and Cryptsy has lots of potential just need to align its trading behavior with the other sites

I don't actually mind using the site now that I understand how the site executes trades.  Just advise everyone to be VERY careful when keying in sell order prices.  What you type is what you'll get regardless if there are higher buy orders in the queue.

I also like the site, but this matching rule should change. I've never seen any exchange match like that.

Quote
-    if (vtx[0].GetValueOut() > (IsProofOfWork()? (GetProofOfWorkReward(nBits) - vtx[0].GetMinFee() + MIN_TX_FEE) : 0))

Bloody hell  Shocked

What's the implication of this?
167  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 1400 GLD gone, new wallet.dat created by GLDcoin-qt.exe (any reason why ?) on: May 23, 2013, 05:18:48 PM
RefreshWallet
Flushing wallet.dat
But can't "touch" them...Is there anything we can do ? Is there anyway I could get my old wallet back ? if not did anybody encounter this problem before ?
Does anybody have an idea about what happened ?

Sounds like your wallet got re-created for some reason. If you don't have a backup of your wallet.dat you lost your coins.

Always back up your wallet.dat file. If you lose it, you lose your private keys and your coins.

"Flushing" only means writing from memory to disk.
168  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 54 Alternate coins max? on: May 22, 2013, 07:40:48 PM
Each cryptocurrency address has a specific leading character, ex. 1 for Bitcoin. Does that mean that there can only ever be 54 alternative cryptocurrencies created?

I based this on the fact that O, 0, I, l cannot be used in an address. Because of that there are 46 possible unique letters and 9 unique numbers that can be used as the leading character in an address.

Can 2 coins have the same leading character and coexist?

Yes, the leading character doesn't matter, they are on separate networks.
169  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: GLDCoin - A Litecoin Based Currency With a More Favorable Block Reward on: May 22, 2013, 07:03:21 PM
Could be the low network hashrate... thing is once people can hopefully trade their gold coins easily, causing more people to mine it, things should get a lot faster.

I sent you 100 as a test to the addr in your sig, took about 4 minutes for the 1st confirmation.

on my end, i'm still at 2 confirmations. could it be my laptop? do i need to add some nodes? if so, how would i do that?

It is 1 confirmation per block mined in the network. so it should be a few minutes per confirmation. It doesn't matter how many nodes you are connected to.

ah i see. thanks for the info skyangel. do you have an address i can donate to? feeling generous today

no problem. keep it for the faucet  Smiley

Glad to see BitGem has an active developer.

Fast deal for 10K GLD. I sent first, no problems.
173  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: GLDCoin - A Heavily premined coin, does it make sense to mine it??? on: May 22, 2013, 08:34:43 AM
you can tell whatever you want, the timestamps of the premined blocks do not lie, check the block browser yourself.

The blocks were not pre-mined, they were insta-mined by the developer and noobs. The announcement was in the newbie forum, then only moved to the Alt-Coin section something like 8 hours later. So for some hours the "professional miners" didn't know about it.
174  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: * * BitBar logo & banner contest OPEN TILL END MAY * * 1 BTC & 3 BTB bounty on: May 22, 2013, 06:57:11 AM
Just trying out some different ideas here. I think an important part is to keep the logo minimalistic and very legible.

I like the minimalist look.

* I think Bitbar shouldn't use the BitCoin symbol (or a variation thereof) in the Bitbar logo. It could be interpreted as deceptive.
* I think Bitbar should drop this whole tagline of "consolidation your digital wealth". It sounds dodgy.
175  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BitGem, the precious scrypt PoW/PoS cryptocoin. on: May 21, 2013, 08:39:24 PM
Any advantage to the 520 confirmations?

Newly mined blocks are vulnerable to a block-chain split, so this is to ensure a newly mined block matures enough.

Ascending reward system to stave off insta-mining, pre-mining, unfair rewards for early adopters.

Block 1 - 2016 @ 1 NIB
Block 2017 - 4032 @ 2 NIB's
Block 4033 - 6047 @ 4 NIB's
Block 6048 - 8063 @ 8 NIB's
Block 8064 - 10079 @ 16 NIB's
Block 10080 - 12095 @ 32 NIB's *** Difficulty SHOULD reach 1+ at this point.  Total NIB's mined = 127,004
Block 12096 - 219555 @ 50 NIB's
Block 219556 - 639555 @ 25 NIB's
So stupid. Why just not to set higher starting difficulty?

Because we love the orphans.  Cheesy
