I urge people who want to learn more about tau to join the irc channel and go down the rabbit hole.
Here in the forum it is mostly around the economical value of tau (at least in the last months), nothing wrong about that - this project couldn't go forward without people investing money with the belief that it will give them nice returns in the future.
I also believe in the huge financial potential of tau, but it is insignificant compared to the game changing technology that is created and implemented by Ohad - we are talking about a revolution which can be compared to the internet revolution - something that can change humanity.
We have a chance to sit in the front row on the journey to Mars - don't underestimate it.
Completely agree with this, a lot of interesting discussion and theorizing going on in the channel, spearheaded by Ohad. Everyone is welcome to join in, it's worth your time. |

He's only ever promised to burn all unsold tokens, if any, after Agoras is released

With respect to the tentative sale, keep in mind that requesting a full refund is always an option. Nobody is forced to buy at the prices Ohad is now offering.
Ohad is already being very accommodating as he has sold far more than he initially planned, which has been announced many times. If he goes much beyond this current point, it will leave him with very little tokens left to raise funds when Tau enters alpha and beyond, and this would not be ideal for the project in the long term.
I hope people are a little more understanding about this issue.

Agoras has a limited number of tokens which stands at 42 million. All unsold tokens, if any, by the time Agoras is released will be burned. This has been the promise the entire time. The actual date of Agoras' release is likely some time away.
This is reflecting the integrity of Ohad who is only reserving a very limited number of tokens (3%) for himself and his development team, which is a far smaller stake than any other project out there. At no point is it a promise that a large proportion of tokens will be burned by the end of the fund raising period. The distribution of tokens is one of the fairest in all ICOs to date.
Constructive criticism is always welcome but please try to keep it at least remotely factually correct and in a single message if possible.

wow!!! This is like the most valuable concept idea I ever seen! At first I just invested and lost a bit of money, but then I keep reading about this idea, its amazing! If this is successful, it will revolutionize everything! This is like a database of all codes, if this is complete it will be automated process to check if code is correct, no need to hire extra programmers. This will revolutionize many industries, this idea is just too good to be true! I have invested and holding, hope this is a very successful long term project! I can't even imagine the price when the project is complete, this could be in $4-5 billion marketcap position!

More on topic, this is by far the most revolutionary project in the crypto sphere.
It isn't merely shoving more code into the blockchain or tinkering with the chain itself like so many out there, it aims to completely reinvent the entire online experience by introducing a logic based automatic reasoner that accrues knowledge the more we use it. And due to its self defining and self amending nature, it could very much be the end game tech that will take us all the way to the singularity.
This is a feat that's at least on par with what the original bitcoin was able to achieve over conventional databases, and far beyond what any other project has been able to do in terms of improvements over the original bitcoin.
Ohad's approach is to focus on refining his design to near perfection and communicate this design in a clear and robust way in the whitepaper before writing the code. This will ultimately lead to a far superior product.
Ohad has been very candid with his progress and he appreciates everyone's patience and support. He is honestly the most intelligent and knowledgeable person with whom I've ever interacted and I have very high hopes for this project.
With regards to price behavior on bittrex, I think we are all humbled by the reception it's getting. There has obviously been a lot of hidden eyes on Agoras to command a trading volume of over $7,000,000 in the last 24 hours. Of course, all traders and speculators are welcome, but no one can guarantee what the price will be the next day, or hour or minute. So please trade responsibly.
I am a strong believer in the long term prospects of Tau/Agoras and have all my coins locked. I would invite others to truly spend some time getting to know what this project is about, and maybe you'll be as impressed as I am.

Those of you who are questioning the integrity of the developer due to your inability to purchase a sufficient amount of Agoras are being a little disingenuous. If you don't trust him, then surely you don't value the coin at all which means there is no reason to complain about not being able to get them right? It's hard to take accusations against the project seriously if the reasoning is because you weren't able to get sufficient tokens.
He has mentioned time and again that Agoras will cease sale if over 50% are sold. He was very generous to extend this to 60% at his own expense as well as the expense of the early buyers. Congratulations to the early purchases who saw great potential in Tau/Agoras and good luck to the rest who are currently fighting for a share, but please keep the discussions honest.

I've been following Tau-Chain for a while now
Absolutely phenomenal project, by far the most ambitious undertaking in the blockchain space and a truly novel design
I noticed that there's a $2,800,000+ trading volume on Bittrex today, I guess I'm not the only one who sees a lot of potential in this project
