61  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How close did they get to Blockchain before it was 'invented'? on: April 04, 2019, 06:56:29 AM
I saw a link to this in EQUAL discord. Thanks legendster for sharing this. Do you know what has happened to this network and whether they have actually implemented it? We might find Satoshi somewhere in this  Grin

Actually no. It seemed like the project was never implemented and it just dropped out into the abyss. Its even hard to find any mention of the project anywhere on the internet except old published archives.
Satoshi or no Satoshi this is a cool little project that got very close to what Blockchain is.

In other words, blockchain or distributed ledger tech, isn't 2008 origin as many followers and enthusiasts believe? Concept is one thing, actual implementation is a whole different ballgame. Besides It's like electricity, people still debate who the father is - the greatest inventor or the one who discovered/coined the term.

well, everything new might be something forgotten a long time ago...
62  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Leaving Behind Crypto When You Are Gone? on: April 04, 2019, 06:55:31 AM
I have given hints to my wife for my password for my trezor and i own an extremely small amount. anyone with a serious amount should have a passcode to a set of metal plate in their house that spell out a private key to their funds. If i was smart and had money I would do that, unfortunately from my experience most other crypto enthusiast especially with funds don't trust their wives.

well, it covers all spheres - cash, cards, etc. family should know where to find such things when you are gone
63  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do not be this type of Bitcoiner on: April 03, 2019, 06:06:45 AM
Totally, both bitcoin and fiat can coexist productively ij the same space. And parading bitcoin as a replacement rather than an alternative is deviating from the creators' goals.
We all enjoy the advantages of decentralization of bitcoin, doesn't mean we would deprive ourselves TGE benefits of centralization of fiat.

sure, crypto could become just another payment option, just another convenient currency. though it must be regulated and convenient for ordinary people
64  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A day with Bitcoin on: April 03, 2019, 06:03:00 AM
Bitcoin isn't legal in some countries but even if in some countries, it's legal, one still have to face hassle if they want to use bitcoin in every step of real life. Most of the shops don't accept it.
In my local, it's not illegal but no one accepts bitcoin as currency or payment method. However, last week, I was in vacation and decided to use bitcoin for a whole 1 day. As bitcoin isn't allowed here, I choose one local guy(he owns a local exchange) who exchange bitcoin for my native currency. I decided not to use any fiat directly from my pocket. What I did, whenever I was in need of fiat, I had to contact with that local guy and sent him BTC for fiat. I could have done it at once but I choose to exchange only if I need. I could have used localbitcoin but it requires more time.

10 PM
I need approx $30 for transportation cost and I talked with the guy over phone and exchanged 0.02 BTC for fiat. I bought ticket and spent some fiat for foods. I had a few bucks left in my pocket. I reached at destination at 04:00 am and I had to have rent a room but I didn't have enough fiat. I called that guy at 4 am, he didn't picked the phone since he was sleeping. So, I had to spend some times at waiting room, at some point I slept for a while  Grin
I had a few bucks left from yesterday, spent these on breakfast. Again, I called that guy and this time, he picked up the phone. We had talked for some minutes, he was asking me to exchange all the amount I need to but I decided not to exchange these at once. So, I exchanged 0.05 BTC this time and rented a room. I spent couple of hours there. Later, went out for having some fun. After completing my lunch, I came back to room and had a rest for some times. In afternoon, I had visited some places, had some food. Then I came back to my room and had rest for couple of hours before going to dinner. I had left some fiat from the previous exchange. I used these for dinner and left almost nothing. I decided to exchange the rest 0.03 BTC because I had to have breakfast at morning. I slept till 8 am. Later, I got freshed and took my breakfast before getting back to my home.

Conclusion
You probably have easily read the whole story but only I know how much pain it was when I had to wait almost 5 hours without a single fiat money. I had done this only out of my curiosity. We are still far away from using bitcoin as our daily currency.

P.S- I had fiat option to pay since I had my card with me. I took it to avoid any unexpected issue.

well, your day with btc was actually a day with exchanger....
65  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How big is the role of the government in the development of Bitcoin? on: April 03, 2019, 06:00:14 AM
In my opinion, the government plays a very important role in the development of Bitcoin in a country. For example, a government announces that it will accept Bitcoin in that country, so I'm sure the development of Bitcoin in that country will be very fast!
BTCBTCBTCBTCBTCBTCBTCBTCBTCBTCBTCBTCBTCBTCBTCBTCBTCBTCBTCBTCBTCBTC
What do you think, the Government or the community who play an important role in the development of Bitcoin?!

it is not that easy to 'announce accepting btc in the country'. it requires proper regulation how to treat its relations between people, merchants, tax authorities etc.
66  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: SENDING BITCOIN WITHOUT THE INTERNET on: April 02, 2019, 06:32:53 AM
Hello guys, So I got involved in some argument yesterday, that it was possible to carry out a bitcoin transaction without the internet, some of my friends argued that it was impossible that the internet wasn't built that way, that there must be internet before this can ever happen.

Below is what I read from Bitcoin In Practice 1 been handled by Andreas Antonopoulos:

True cold storage” means that the private keys have never been on a networked computer or device, i.e. they have been
generated offline and without intermediaries. The signing of outgoing transactions (signed with those keys) also occurs
offline. This method is more common for long-term storage of large funds that you will not be sending out very frequently,
as it is generally impractical for everyday use. You can still safely use the addresses to send bitcoins to them, as well as to
check their balances.

From the above statement, it shows it's possible to send bitcoin from one's wallet to another wallet while the sender can perform this offline. This doesn't mean is not going to get verified online on the blockchain.

I want to hear your response about this submission.

Thanks

Ok, so Mocacinno has already answered your doubt so I will not repeat that again! Rather I will give you a whole new perspective of offline bitcoin transaction or no-internet bitcoin transaction. It is certainly possible to send bitcoin transaction without the internet. Please read the below news,

https://www.coindesk.com/bitcoin-coders-send-international-lightning-payment-over-ham-radio

So after reading this article, you know that bitcoin transaction can be sent without internet that looks good for experiments but at the same time it is not practical!

yes, anyway you need Intenet.. only in case you have a physical btc coin. but that's a rare thing nowadays.

68  Economy / Speculation / Re: Whats with the sudden surge ? on: April 02, 2019, 06:22:44 AM
I am interested to know as well, can’t find information anywhere too. Have not seen such increase in price for long time and really hope some good news is coming up rather than just another pump and dump.

yes, sometimes it is really difficult to predict such hikes
69  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Warren buffet now investing in bitcoin on: April 02, 2019, 06:21:15 AM
Big news! It seems that he has identified the bottom and is confident that a recovery is under way. Berkshire now has a bitcoin department which is why the price pumped this past week. Go get some!

*EDIT (10.30pm 1 April 2019)*

Happy April fools! jajaja Cheesy
Although this time next year it might actually be true Wink

really-really funny =)

72  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: trade without id verification? on: April 01, 2019, 10:58:02 AM
hi i was just wondering if there where any crypto exchanges that dont require lots of verification i registered with coinbase and within an hour i was getting phone calls soliciting me with services is there any exchanges that just let you email verify like bitmex does and lets you trade between altcoins? thanks
KYC verification enhance your security so i think it is needed but you haven’t any documents ti do that then you can trade in binance and hitbtc. Those are good exchange and almost all crypto are available there fir trading. Especially i prefer binance.
what security do you mean ? security is good with the presence of 2fa, they do it only to know the identity of their users, or maybe it is the result of regulations mandated by the government. verification should not be mandatory, because some users have other opinions about freedom in crypto

the more popular exchange is - more traders have accounts and make deals on the exchange. nowadays exchanges make step into the future, they start offering fiat and margin trading.
so, when it comes to fiat it inevitably requires kyc and aml procedures.

75  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: WHY DO WE NEED A TRADING PLAN ? on: April 01, 2019, 10:52:48 AM
Without really having a "plan" in anything in life how do you really plan to be successful anyway ?

I mean you need to have a plan on how you trade and you can perfect it, it doesn't really have to be a good plan. Have a plan that sucks and even loses you money, than find what made you lose money than fix a bit of it, maybe it still won't be good at all but than you find the next mistake, maybe sometimes what you think you "fixed" is just changing a mistake with another mistake.

Nonetheless, if you continue improving your plan and system constantly and tweaking the trading plan the best way possible than in the end after a while you will be good. Think of it like practice, you may not lift too much weight today if you start, you may even injure yourself and have a setback but in the end if you consistently keep at it one day you will be lifting huge weights.

well, sometimes not having a plan is also a plan - looking for opportunities. it's not bad though
76  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How did you start trading? on: April 01, 2019, 10:51:44 AM
deposit a small number of FIAT currencies, and start trading BTC / ARK on poloniex. that's the first time I trade cryptocurrencies.

how did you chose the exchange? what criteria did you have? did you have a criteria?
77  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Invest any time? on: April 01, 2019, 10:51:03 AM
I have read so many times where people keep saying that "all time is good for investment".
Personally, I disagree with that statement, and I believe when you look at it from my prism you will also agree with me.
Take a look at this scenario and judge for yourself.
Mr March is a newbie in cryptosphere and he has $2000 he would want to invest in Cryptocurrency.
He also plan using the $2000 to sort out some financial needs in a months time.
After going through his friends suggestion regarding the coin he should invest on.....he went for April coin.
On checking the market price of April coin, it was discovered that the price is at it's all time high.
The coin was $3 before but $10 now.
Considering he only want to do a month investment.
Will it then be wise to ask him to buy the coin at the present price or wait for the price to fall ?
Do you still believe that all time is good for investment?
Thank you.

we should keep investment and trading apart.
investment is a lazy thing - you put some cash and wait for profits (while your money work for you).
Sure, if you invest just in one coin waiting for its hike then you should choose a proper time (though you never know WHEN the proper time is beforehand).
78  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading without losses? on: April 01, 2019, 10:49:16 AM
No such thing as trading without suffering some losses. All you can do is make more winning trades than losing trades. You do it by studying market price action and then the golden rule is let your winning trades run while cutting your losing ones quick.

right, facing losses is a common thing, it happens to everybody who trades.
remember - practice makes perfect. if you learn - you can make mistakes. if you don't make mistakes - then probably you do nothing, right?
79  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to minimise the trading fee? on: April 01, 2019, 10:47:49 AM
Any recommendations?
Currently in Australia, I would like to seek for an exchange platform with lowest trading fee but also with regulation.
Don't shoot the unregulated exchange to me, I hope my currency to be safe.

the more active trades are done - the more suitable spread is. some exhanges offer discount for fees, like b2bx exchange - they give 35% discount for using b2b token as a fee.
