I know that most of todays traders are here just to make a quick buck, they dont care about the project, or the idea behind the project, they just want "PUUUPM" and "MOOOON". And with all the scam ICO's that we had in the past( my personal favorite BitConneeeeect) people have lost faith in ICO's. But still new ICO's and new ideas are being published every day, I've seen on some projects that i'm following that they reached their soft or hardcap, but what triggers my mind is: Who is investing in those ICO's, what is the one thing that lures the todays investors into investing in a certain project?
Last year, those platform coin projects are the ones that made big ICO's. I will not name them. Now, people are looking for real world solutions or businesses, that are beyond the blockchain. To simplify, we need real businesses that will integrate the blockchain tech into their ecosystem.

This is applicable to everyone in the crypto space, not to attempt to do more than they are capable of doing. - For crypto traders, miners and investors, invest only what you can afford to loose. Do not invest all your money into crypto, believing that you will wake up one day to get a multiplier factor on your profit. It is either you have profit or loss.
- For bounty, participate in projects you can finish at a time. If you combine too many projects together, you might end up not getting anything reasonable from all the projects. I wonder some times when i see spreadsheets where some have 0 stake almost all through.
This is a good advice. I subscribe to both as they are very practical and logical in the crypto space. 1. Invest only what you can afford to loose - Do not borrow money to put in crypto! 2. Finish the bounty and try to get in early (week 1, 2 or 3) then ensure that you finish the bounty program.

Those institutions and governments will not easily give out the power they have over the people - which is thru fiat money. They needed to centralize power and control. Decentralized money will reduce their power. Try to accumulate crypto slowly and carefully, same as they do, and once they pump prices, you can hitch the ride with them.

I sort of agree. Glad I pulled the trigger and sold at a loss within Q1 to Q2. Small losses turns to bigger losses if they are not managed. Now I can buy back more of what I sold

I don't think the entire 2019 will be the start of the bull run but rather the start of the long crypto winter year (sideways). The key here is to survive and don't give up.

I decided not to give away my privacy for $25 worth of Stellar coins. Good luck to everyone who participated in Stellar airdrop!

What is your best plan, if you look at the uncertain crypto market situation, do you have plans to invest in several altcoins? what coins do you think will be good in 2019. Thanks. Nothing is really "best" as we are all in the mercy of the market forces. If bitcoin further tanks to $2,500 level, I'm slowly buying back. We can never foresee how low it will go but that is a good price IMO.

I need to know if the coins like early in the year will start to inflate prices. However, I think this way the market will not rise. Say your ideas.
I think 2019 will still be crypto winter for us all. This "winter" we are experiencing is a preparation by institutional investors to control the crypto supply. Once they have control of supply, they will release ETF, the Nasdaq powered exchange, etc, etc. They will inflate crypto again for the masses to come in. It will be another slaughter of the herd.

Well I have no more patience in holding it so I decided to dump all the altcoins listed in an exchange in a low price. I have been accepting already that I loss already in investing those altcoins. Because we are now in the peak season of the year 2018 and cryptocurrency market seem nothing to have gone good and I have also some needs to meet for the holidays so I sold all the altcoins. I will just check later on if cryptocurrency will going to be back at its normal market.
Don't forget the learnings you got from this bear market. That will surely help you once the bull market comes and the bear market will surely again follow.

True. But why would uscoin devs use the same code/ticker and same logo with centre.io's coin? Isn't there a copyright violation here or something?

The crypto world is growing everyday even with the rise and fall of the crypto market, that hasn't stop the massive growth happening now. Altcoin particularly has evolved that even noobs find it promising to lay hands on some coin.
Yes with a good and lucky trading you can earn some good money from crypto. Also through investing in an ICO or doing some bounty hunting you could find yourself with tons of tokens.
So months after months, you've earned yourself with tons of tokens but currently doesn't have much value or you just don't know what to do with them. You keep getting that hunch that your tokens will blow one day and you will lambo.
The truth is, we never can tell which project will eventually succeed or fail, we can only do research and hope it succeed like following up the project and see if any positive progress is happening. Many tokens dumped shortly after ICO and has been dead since while some are fairly stable. Personally, im a hodler because i believe cryptocurrency is a gamble which we sometime win some or lose some, so i HODL hoping in the long run some will succeed.
So, what do you do with your numerous tokens? Do you convert them to fiat or Hodl the ones you can?
Re-assess all the tokens that you got from bounty and ICO's. If you think they still have lots of potential in the years to come, hold. I did my reassessment some months and have decided to convert to stablecoins (USDC/TUSD). Best decision I did to date. I can buy back in if I want to.

ICO's are necessary part of the evolution in the crypto space and to decentralize the funding instead of VC's. Instead of VC's earning all the money if the project booms, the ICO's allowed for INDIVIVUALS GLOBALLY to be able to participate and contribute thus decentralizing the funding and wealth generation if the projects booms. If individuals are only contributing what they can afford to lose, that should not worry much those who participated in good ICO's. But sadly, the ICO's also became a gambling arena, where people are betting their hard earned money without really performing proper DYOR.

If you want to diversify, diversify out of crypto - use equity, commodities, real estate, etc. Buying other coins or even stable coins is just, well, still in crypto and is not considered true diversification, you are just spreading your crypto across.

Better accept that there is no spring time this December. We're in for a long crypto winter, 2019 might still be winter. Or once institutions are ready and have accumulated a lot of crypto - they will release ETF, release Nasdaq crypto exchange, - start the next bull run. It's all about control of the herd - us the sheep

I think we are in a long crypto winter, 2019 will still be winter for us. Try to survive everyone. Those who survives this winter will be rewarded in the end.

Hi, I want to put 100$ in crypto currencies every month. Which coins in general would you recommend for mid- to longterm investment? Which coin should I choose this month? I already have some of these coins: Waves, VEN, SRAT, SNGLS, NEO, ICX, DBC.
There's a saying before that you must strive to acquire AT LEAST 1 BTC. Then once you've acquired it, start buying alts or tokens.
|
|
|
Do you regret it ? or do you believe BTC will create a new ATH ?
Yup. I guess everyone who are hodling until now are regretting it. Switching to "stablecoins" was the best strategy I did this year. I am slowly buying back more of the coins and tokens that I like. But we will again reach another new ATH in the next 2-3 years.

Everyone is waiting for 2019 to see the price of the coin back up, But what do you do if it gets worse?
I think everyone will capitulate starting this quarter to Q2 of 2019. Even crypto youtubers are capitulating now. But I think the blockchain technology will still be revolutionary just like the internet was in the 80's-90's.
