Website down ? Is it because we found a new block ?

Humm bitcoin s value tends to be quite low this time. I wonder about its price really going up in the future. Some people believe bitcoin s price will go up through the roof... but i don t see this happening.

I don t know if its because of all the ASICS miners poping up everywhere... but there is maybe be a relation somehow. All the GPU miners that are stopping or will in a very close timeframe do... might loose interest in bitcoin if they can t mine it anymore and don t wanna bet on ASICS miners. They ll probably go to script mining like litecoin or so. This scenario would not really benefit litecoin s value would it ? What do you guys think ?

Anyhow. Luck seems to be back those days at bitminter which is cool. And yes it s been stable also which id good news !

Today it is 2 years since the launch of Bitminter

Happy birthday !

Pool down again. Nothing mining at least from what the front page says.

The reason is, my blades report 12.5-13GHS at slush and it goes down to 11-11.5Ghs when mining on bitminter :S

Stats here at the mint are more like a guess - at least not accurate.
When you completed at least one shift, the "your ghps" value on the live stats page should show a better value.

I couldn t even know if my miners were working correctly at slush on its front end. Most of the time i was seeing them not hashing at all or only some of them sometimes even though they were on and getting shares. I contacted slush about it but never got an answer. Doc haribo s always replied to any of my emails sent to him. My stats are way better here at bitminter than at slush. Moreover now we have black lotus protection from DDoS attack

Well it s a matter of point of view, habits and trust regarding the pool  i guess... :-)

DOC'

You maybe should say on the front page that the pool is now protected against DDoS by black lotus. That might make many people come back here. Just sayin'...

We also need luck !!! Very bad luck even though we have less hashing power than we used to.

Sorry to ask again but i just want to make sure. Are we from now on protected by black lotus or not yet ?

Yep, that's what the server move was about.

Awesome thanks a lot !!

Hi Doc'

That s good news for the black lotus protection. When will that be effective exactly ?

Thanks

Hi Doc,

Thanks for fixing the pool and taking bitminter s pool security to the next level !

When exactly will the pool be protected against DDoS ? That would be good to have idea on when we should finally be able  to mine without any attack annoying us all.

Thanks for the investment !

Bad luck and all those dDoS attacks... damn... not good at all.

Somethings wrong with the webpage. Total hashpower 0, live stats almost everything 0 etc...

Website is ok, but there's no statistics from the mining server because it is under DDoS attack again.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Denial-of-service_attack

Someone doesn't want BitMinter around.

Mining seems to be back up. Let us know if we can do anything to help you stop these attacks.

No. Its still down apparently. Well at least for me

Edit : ok slowly going up again !

Doc can we do something to help you preventing those ?

Thanks

Mining down again. DdoS again ?? Pffff that sucks big time
18  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Is mining worth it at this point? on: June 17, 2013, 05:51:28 AM
I canceled my 5gh order at BFL lately because there is no point in waiting more than 3months for it. The difficulty is increasing at high speed. 5gh in 6 months will be nothing in term of power. As others stated... you would probably not be able to sell it.. and also can t switch it for litecoin mining. So it s a too big gamble i d not be willing to take at this point.

The value of bitcoin is another volatile value you can t determine to add in your calculation. Although you can estimate the futur hash rate increase and thus the difficulty.... you will not be able to know what a bitcoin will be worth tomorrow or in a year.

Too risky to me. Those willing to take the risk might get a lot of profit out of it... but can also lose a loy of money.

I can t stand those DDoS attacks. Isn t there a way to protect against them ? They are really annoying like hell.
20  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [12 TH/s] BitMinter.com [ASIC support: var diff, Stratum, GBT, rollntime] on: June 15, 2013, 11:46:40 PM
Oh by the way i asked BFL to refund me for the 5Gh i ve ordered lately cause by the time they finally ship it i think it s going to be quite useless with the difficulty and such. They instantly refund me via paypal. So no worries at all and no question asked.
