1  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: Kompletan hrvatski prijevod Satoshijevog preglednog rada (whitepaper) on: November 23, 2019, 11:37:45 PM

@cryptotux

5  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Kompletan hrvatski prijevod Satoshijevog preglednog rada (whitepaper) on: October 31, 2018, 06:10:01 PM

6  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Earning LN routing fees on: June 18, 2018, 04:37:37 PM
Usually competition works to prevent high fees, except when all route available have high fees which sucks. This will be rare case, but i'm sure this might happen when there aren't many routes and all available nodes offer high fees.
I don't like limiting the fees from protocol either, but IMO this might be necessary.
After reading the discussion about limiting fees based on protocol, I'd side with the majority on not doing so and instead rely on a "laissez-faire" approach, if you will, to ensure routing fees reach a state of equilibrium. Most Lightning clients have autorouting, don't they? From what I've gathered, such clients will choose the cheapest route, so any node with excessive fees will be avoided if possible.
7  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Earning LN routing fees on: June 15, 2018, 09:50:19 AM
Definitely.
The LN is still being tested currently. Once it is fully released and people start using it, there will be routing fees.
Currently it is more like testing how payments in the future will look like  Cool
I'll be patient and wait for the Lightning Network to leave beta phase. I think it has some way to go before becoming a user-friendly second-layer solution.

Just run lncli feereport

If your are not moving the amounts in your channels that should indicate how much you have earned.
But at this time people have channels with subsatoshis or zero fees. I have had my nodes running for 3 months and no one has routed through me (or not that I know of).

If there is a better solution like a line on the logs, please tell me
Checked. All my fee sums are zero.

Do you suppose routing fees might increase as larger hubs come into existence? My reasoning is that those who have larger funded channels will be able to service more users, which will lead to them being able to dictate higher routing fees for the sake of convenience (so users don't have to create new channels for larger sums, for instance).

Closest thing I can find to that has something to do with trimming circuits. Not sure what it means, though.

In any case, thank you for taking the time to answer my questions. I'm sure I'll be able to route my way through the Lightning Network (pardon the pun).
10  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Earning LN routing fees on: June 14, 2018, 09:07:22 PM
How can I determine if someone decided to relay through my node? Through incoming connections?
You will see that someone has offered you an HTLC and then you have offered someone else an HTLC.

I'm using lnd as my client. What should I look for in my log to determine if such an event has occurred?
11  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Earning LN routing fees on: June 14, 2018, 10:43:16 AM
I've been reading up on the Lightning Network, and I read that you can earn routing fees by having users relay LN transactions through your node. What I'd like to know is this:

  • How can I determine if someone decided to relay through my node? Through incoming connections?
  • Are open channels imperative to earning routing fees? If so, how many are optimal?

I'm aware that I might earn only a handful of satoshi, but I'm interested in new experiences and technologies.
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] 1337 [MANDATORY UPDATE] 20.89% APR | POS ONLY on: November 11, 2017, 06:11:35 PM
Everyone, as mentioned before about the new final APR, we are proposing the new final APR to be 1.337% as oppose to the originally planned 13.37% in order to keep coin supply in check and improve coin value. We would like to hear from you all as your opinion matters. Polls are open here and on Twitter https://twitter.com/1337CoinUpdates/status/929404710745989124

I'd personally vote for the final APR to be 1.337%, provided that it was followed by a significant decrease in circulating supply through, say, burning. I believe that's the only way 1337 can increase in value, since applying only a low interest rate wouldn't affect the price much because the circulating supply would still be too high for the value to appreciate.
13  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What are your favorite gambling games? on: September 28, 2017, 01:46:59 PM
It's been near 2 years since I launched faucetgame.com.

Everyone who posts his faucetgame username in this topic will get 10k satoshi.

Congratulations, sir! FaucetGame's the first site of yours I joined, and I've always had fun gambling there and earning satoshi; I play there under the username betatux. I wish you and your sites many more years of success to come.
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] LiteBar (LTB) - Reborn on: September 07, 2017, 06:29:06 PM
Litebar is just getting hammered by the profit switching pools.
They jump on with 1.5GH and drive the difficulty up, then they switch to something else.
With the difficulty being so high, the smaller pools have to work for 6 to 12 hours just to find one block.
That's 6 to 12 hours (some times more) that the blockchain doesn't move, causing havoc with people trying to move their litebars around.

I'm thinking of adding PoS (proof of stake) to litebar, so when the chain stops the pos transactions will keep the chain going.
A small pos amount like 6% annual should interest (ha-ha) people in keeping their wallets open to stake, but not add to much in cap growth, keeping the price from dropping.

Any body have any comments or suggestions regarding addind PoS, or the 6% annual idea ??

I second the suggestion for adding POS to LiteBar, thus making it a hybrid cryptocurrency like BitBar. Personally, I think 6% is a reasonable annual interest rate. However, the following question arises: What should the minimum stake age be? BitBar has a minimum stake age of 30 days. However, seeing as LiteBar is supposed to be the silver counterpart to BitBar, I feel it should have a lower minimum stake age. Perhaps 7 or 14 days would be suitable as a minimum stake age should POS be added to LiteBar? I'd like to hear some thoughts on that aspect.
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [BRO] [WEBRADIO] 😍 BITRAD.IO 😍 - ICO LIVE - Stream diffrent - Webradio on: August 15, 2017, 04:50:38 PM
Bitrad.io is a brilliant idea, and I enjoy the fact that one can listen to online radio and earn money in the form of BRO, a POS cryptocurrency. The site reminds me of FaucetFM, a defunct Bitcoin faucet that used to pay satoshi for listening to online radio. I've been using Bitrad.io since yesterday and have already been paid a little over 0.4 BRO so far, which is around, what, 2,200 satoshi at the time of writing? Remarkable! I even bought about 100 BRO on Cryptopia to begin staking and support the concept.

I'm looking forward to the new developments behind Bitrad.io and hope it'll succeed. Of all the ICOs I've seen recently, this one is perhaps one of the most practical to me. One concern I've heard from some posters is the future price. As far as I can tell from the announcement, a significant amount of BRO will be burned to reduce the available supply, which should hopefully cause the price to increase in the long run. A price of over 10,000 satoshi or so is probably feasible. As far as demand is concerned, I'm certain there will be some demand for BRO. A majority of people already listens to online radio without being paid a cent, so why wouldn't some want to cash in on Bitrad.io and earn some spare change while doing something they enjoy anyway?
16  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Question on accessing BTC and BCH chains on the same machine on: August 03, 2017, 11:13:32 AM
You can use Ubuntu : no roaming folder and one specific folder for each wallet.
If you don't want to use Ubuntu, you have to wait safe solutions on Windows : one day... or never (or too late).

I do have a dual boot system including Kubuntu 16.04 LTS and Windows 10, so I think it might be worth a try. Can I simply copy everything in my Roaming folder to a Core client on Linux, then? I have a feeling it might lead to some strange behavior when I try to synchronize and reindex Bitcoin Core, since the most recent blocks won't be accepted as valid.

Edit: I decided not to complicate matters and just synchronize the entire blockchain from scratch for the Core client. However, seeing as my Linux hard disk had a little over 30 GB of free space remaining, I had no choice but to enable pruning. Anyway, thank you for replying to my post. I appreciate the help.
17  Other / Beginners & Help / Question on accessing BTC and BCH chains on the same machine on: August 03, 2017, 08:58:55 AM
Good day,

Could someone give me some advice on how to access the BTC and BCH chains on the same machine? Namely, I currently have BUCash v1.1.0.0 installed and would like to be able to use Bitcoin Core so that I can access the BTC chain. However, I'm concerned that installing Bitcoin Core could overwrite the blockchain data stored by BUCash in the Roaming folder (Windows 10). I'd like to make it clear that I intend to use both chains on a regular basis, so this is why I'm posting this.

I would also like to know if it's possible to configure both clients to share the blockchain data before block 478,558 (all blocks before the hard fork) to save some disk space.

Thank you.
