In most local topics, you can see merit buying/selling posts. So anyone hoping Merit will increase the post quality will be disappointed...
once found out, expect them to get tagged by DT1/2 and received neg trust
I believe this merit thing would slowly change the quality of the posts we see on this forum
only time would tell, lets hope the best for our beloved forum Kiss

In that case, these people will take their "merit trading" activity outside the Bitcointalk, probably in digital point or other forums. If they do that, then there is hardly anyway to identify these users. Another danger is that rather than doing account farming, those users who want to enroll in to multiple signature campaigns may purchase dormant accounts of higher rank (once again, outside Bitcointalk).
In fact, admin, moderators, and users can discover those cheating, negative donated merits. It will easily to be discovered because those sort of users don't care about making good posts, or they don't have enough knowledge, English skills to do that. Most of their post are low- under- qualitied ones.

Something released by users like this one
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2823221.0
Is it useful? I guess most of you will say YES, right?

However, the real problem is we can not judge them, or demerit them, etc. We almost can not do any punishments - which might lead to over-debate - for those violations, abusement in the forum.

The situation will become very complicated!
4442  Other / Meta / Re: Merits from your friends? on: January 28, 2018, 02:45:04 PM
is this legal share merits with your friends? and some one is begging for it? or else give merits and trade for something?

Of course, you can buy/sell/exchange merits (acutally sMerits) with others. However, I don't recommend you to do that, it violates the forum's rules. Your account will under radar of admin and moderators, under extremely high risks of banning, might be permanent one. Don't do that, please.

Otherwise, you should only focus on qualities of your posts, increasing them a little bit daily, which in turn raise the probability to receive merits from others for your posts.

I have tried countless times to change my avatar. But it keeps on going back to the old avatar that I have. I tried to take it off. And when I try to re upload the avatar that i want, still the old avatar shows up. What should I do?
Clear cookies of your web browser, sign in again. Change your avatar, then it will work fine. Surely.
a big thanks to you bro.
At first I was doubtful and have come to that point where I am frustrated already but this one helped a lot.
Thanks again.. It worked perfectly and now i am wearing the avatar that I want.
Meriting him if possible, you wont lose your current merits. What you lose is your sMerits (sendable merits), but you got nothing by keeping sMerits. That's the way merit system works and this is also one of ways you can show your appreciation to others' help too.

Link to official announcement about merit system and new rank requirements, released by Theymos:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2818350.660

For current members, your initial merit score is equal to the minimum required to your rank. Of that, a certain amount (less than the usual half) is spendable. The spendable amount was calculated based on your current rank and the number of activity points you earned in the last year. A Legendary member who hasn't posted in the last year would still be Legendary, but would not have any spendable merit.

If someone sends you 1 merit, the 0.5 sMerit is not wasted; it is just not shown until you get another merit point.

There are stats here, and you can find someone's merit summary by clicking the "merit" link on their profile.
4444  Other / Meta / Re: Merit & new rank requirements on: January 28, 2018, 02:28:56 PM
I wonder if we will see more copy and pasting so farmers can appear to have better quality posts.

Computing power is often bundled together or "pooled" to reduce variance in miner income. Individual mining rigs often have to wait fir long period to confirm a block of transactions and receive payment. In a pool, all participating miners get paid every time a participating server solves a block. This payment depends on the amount of work an individual miner contribute to help find that block.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bitcoin_network

This looks like a typical shit poster.  Is he now using someone else's material as his own in order to get merit for a quality post?

I've reported this idiot and this one was super easy to catch as his reply was completely off topic and vaguely familiar...  What about someone who's a little more sophisticated about it?  I hope the community will continue to aggressively monitor this as stealing someone else's work is LOW really really LOW.

Simply give this guy a warning about plagirism. That's enough, if he/ she did it again, he/she will put the account under high risk of permanent ban from admin and moderators of the forum.
4445  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Translation in bounty campaign on: January 28, 2018, 02:22:43 PM
Good evening! I have been looking for the topic about translations in bounty campaign, but I haven't found them yet. If such topic exists in the forum send me the link, please. If such topic doesn't exist, please, share your experience of participating in translations in bounty compaigns.
Is it possible to take a translation from English into Russian? How many pages does a translation usually include?
How many tokens are usually given for the translation?

If you want to join translation bounty, you must visit the bounties thread frequently. When a new Bounty announced, alot of people will reverse for the translation. You will not be chosen if you are late.

About 100 -300 tokens for a translation
More correctly, rewards for translations are very different. And they depends totally upon the campaign managers and policies of different projects.

For translation, you should post on local boards, which will get more attention from your locals.
In addition, you can post the translation on different forums, such as bitcointalk garden, reddit, steemit, etc.
4446  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Merit. How to change of rank from Jr. Member to Member? on: January 28, 2018, 02:20:14 PM
New rules for changing ranks

Recently, a new function "Merit" appeared on the site of the BTT. I think that in many who are developing their accounts there will be a question, but how will this affect me? Under the new rules for the transition from Jr. Member to Member needs to have not only 60 activities, but also 10 more Merity.

Rank                          Required activity Required merit
Jr Member                            30                  0
Member                               60                 10

How to take Marity?

You get merit points when someone sends you some for one of your posts. Additionally, when someone sends you merit points, half of those points can be sent by you to other people.

I do not know if it's good or bad, I think after a while we'll see. What do you think about Merity?
As Theymos announced, it is Merit, not Merity, ok? You should write with right word first.

Secondly, if you only focus on getting more and more merits, it's not good, generally. My recommendation is you should and have to focus on your posts' quality. If you can improve your skills, knowledge, you can make better posts day by day. Then merits, lots of merits, will automatically come to you, by which I mean your accounts. There are so many people ready to send you their sMerits (please remember sMerits, which represent sendable merits, not Merits) to you for your high-qualitied posts.'

Hope that my recommendations will help you keep on right track.
4447  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbie can not Join Bounty Program? on: January 28, 2018, 02:12:26 PM
Newbie Rank unable to join the bounty program?
there a chance to get it if you follow it?
Please Help Me
The fact is you can join surely, but the problem is there are very little projects which open their bounties for newbies.

It is aslo due to the fact there are thousands of newbies in the forum, part of them, try to cheat and get free money from the projects and bitcointalk forum.

So you should contribute good posts to be ranked up to at least Junior member to join those ones.
Good luck and be a good member in the forum in positive way.

4448  Other / Meta / Re: Merit & new rank requirements on: January 25, 2018, 03:31:05 PM

A Legendary member who hasn't posted in the last year would still be Legendary, but would not have any spendable merit.
I don't agree with this, this is just like giving the "old members" (including me) a head start. I'm not saying that earning merits is a race but giving us a head start also means giving us a free reputation out of nothing. That does not necessarily mean we need to rebuild our reputation from zero, I mean there are so many members that have earned a good reputation on this forum.
So I think the merit points for old members have to be given based on their reputation now and without affecting the rank.

Anyway, I think this is gonna be the end of account farming.

The new system is surely better than the previous one, even though it is over-rewarding "old members". I guess nobody who has joined Bitcointalk in the past six months will EVER manage to become Legendary Member, at least not in less than one or two decades. Fine, this could be a price to pay to avoid the forum getting even more trashy, I fully agree. But I think that the implementation of this new system could be done in a more fair way. The fact that initial merit score is equal to the minimum required for one's rank is not a big deal for Newbies or Juniors, but for higher ranked members, like Senior or Hero Members, it can create big inequalities. For example a freshly ranked Senior Member is now getting the same merit score as someone who has already been a Senior Member for almost half a year and is about to become a Hero. Even more dramatic would be the case of a Hero who has already the activity to be a Legendary but the random system did not grant him the rank yet. A more fair way to distribute the inital merit would be to calculate it proportionally to the actual activity. This would avoid that people like me (I don't want to make it personal but I'm the first example which comes to my mind) who is missing only 4 points of activity (and 5 days) to the rank of Hero Member, instead of getting, let's say 470-480 merits (instead of the 500 of people who already are Heroes), is getting only 250 merits like someone who has just ranked Senior Member 10 days ago, and instead of 5 days it may now suddenly take me years before I can become a Hero - how many very good posts has one to do before he gets 250 merits? If you receive one merit every 4 post you do (on average you are likely to get less IMO) it will take you 1000 more posts to rank up from Senior to Hero, and if you like me were only 4 points of activity from that target, and now suddenly you need another 1000 posts, to say that this is becoming extremely frustrating is a big understatement. On the other side, with a more proportional and balanced initial distribution of merits I think nobody would feel that the system is penalizing them more than it penalizes others - which means people would be more inclined to recognize its substantial fairness, or at least that every effort has been done to achieve the maximum possible fairness.
It's game of luck, game of randomly chances. You will depend upon someone, and their time, their generosity to get merits. That sounds credible!
As I mentioned above, we need a new ranking system, definitely. However, this one should focus on stricter banning rules, and allows users have the rights to do something by themselves, for themselves in order to be automatically upgraded when they satisfied requirements for each higher member ranks. They don't have to depend on someone. That's approach will be more fairly for all users, particularly for lower-ranked users.
4449  Other / Meta / Re: Merit & new rank requirements on: January 25, 2018, 03:19:56 PM
I checked a lot of topics again, and didn't noticed any received merits for a good posts, although I have noticed a lot of merits received for the high rank member posts like "You want some merit bro? Here you go hehehe" and responses to such posts like "Oh, thank you, I have sent some merits for you as well hehehe". What can I say about it, I don't think, that this system will stop spam and shit posting, and I'm pretty sure, that high quality posts will be rewarded with a merit, although I have already found a telegram groups, where merits are sold for 1$. Why do you need to send your merits for free if you can sell it, right? So this system is not solving the problem, but it already added some corruption and it gave many advantages for a senior members, and gave a lot of disadvantages to the newbies. This forum is not facebook, why it is necessary to have "likes"? And I'm just curious, what was the motivation to put such ranking system - to get a full member rank, you need to gain 10x more merit, than for a member. I don't think it will stop creation of multiple accounts, as some strange activities were noticed already:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2439743.msg28861940#msg28861940 - 7 merit points were received for the question "How much merit points newbie need to receive, before he can post in other section?"

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2770539.msg28896442#msg28896442 - 50 merits for "Right, yesterday he told, that he saved 9% of coins"

High quality posts, huh?

I have few thoughts regarding this. First of all, this could be implemented with purpose to raise the price on the accounts with senior ranks. Admin informed us, that moderators will not moderate merits, than why do we need this? I find it quite suspicious. Secondly, it will help hero/legendary members to save their profits in the bounty campaigns. Now it will be difficult to reach senior ranks, and new rivals will rarely appear. That's my point regarding this new system. Embarrassed
Totally agree with most of the ideas. The current merit system will tie up the opportunities to be Members, Full Members and Senior Members. Those old accounts dont worry about that, but the new ones have to face harshly with those new rules, with merit ranking.
Personally, I think admin and moderators of the forum should focus on how to release new, more strictly screening system for investigating spamming accounts, which post non-sense, shit posts most of the time. After that, banning those accounts permanently. That's rule might be better than the current merit system.

Please consider about the idea. Tie up spamming discovering system, and more strict banning rules (permanently bans)

I agree with you with the end of the account farming.

But for your earlier statement, I guess theymos gave higher rank members (old members) merit points based on their rank is to help to grow this community, because higher rank members surely know which one is a good post and which is not. Higher rank members have a lot of smerit points that can be given to other who needs, so you guys may contribute too to measure which person deserves a higher position, and there is no use to hold your smerit points as it may decay.

Being a high-rank member doesn't necessarily mean having a good judgment on how good/bad a post is.
There's a lot of Sr. Member and even Hero Member who still do a shitposting on this forum and it doesn't quite reflect their position as a high-rank member.
Exactly! This is unfair rewarded merit system between old members and new members. The older members reached their current ranks much more easier than recent members, who have to face with the merit system in order to be upgraded to higher levels. How to correct the setback of current merit system. I think we should contribute ideas to Theymos for adjusting it a little bit.

What will happen if I write high-qualitied posts but I am unlucky because legendary or hero/ senior members dont read it by chance, only Newbie, Junior members read it and they don't give me merits. That's the problem, I guess.

In some cases, the merits I will receive only depends on luck, this is game of luck.

With my current activities, I will be upgraded to Senior Member in the next 6 weeks, but now with the merit system, I will probably wait half of a year or more. Unbelievable!

Really? The total number of premined coins accounts for 50% of the total supply. What do you want with the premined ones, devs? Could you give me more detailed about that such as roadmap, bounties, airdrops with the premined coins?
Anyway, it sounds terrible with the statistics of 50% premined.
Good luck to all of you, both developers and miners, investors.

There is no way 1070 does only 13 Mh/s, I get almost 14 with 1060.
Make sure you have the latest ccminer version, it was greatly improved since my initial release.

I know that all developers might be very tired for preparation of the successful launch. It would be highly appreciated. Please keep up your good work.
Additionally, the most important factor which can make a coin succeeded or not is the roadmap. It's truly good for both short- and long-term aspect, good for both miners and investors.
As a result of that, please consider very carefully about the roadmap, publish it to our community.

Thank you again, devs. Have a nice day!

@divedaucd

Withdrawal issue at cryptohub seems resolved

I was tested before making transaction and it was working well, but later it started to show error "insuficient priority" on sending with tx fee 1000 satoshi / kb.  Requires 10000 satoshi / kb.
At first version of Solaris (nist5) it was always working with 1000 satoshi / kb.     Why devs have increased relay fee?
It worked, thank you so much!

hi
how to set up my address for withdraw in Cryptohub pool when mining XLR-xevan? Thanks
you go to Menu - Profile/Balance. In Operarions section you click on Withdraw and put your address and amount then press send (image below)

yeah, Thanks. To clarify your explanation, I have two more questions for you.
1) The steps you shown me here looks like for withdrawing coins from the pool to my windows wallet, am I right?
2) When mining in the pool, my coins mined automatically send to the default address which I can see in deposit address, right?
Please help me to figure it out. This is my first time on the Cryptohub pool. By the way, are you Vietnamese? ^^

Guys, existence of XVS is bad for business and for VSX value and adoption !!!
When people search for this coin they will see 2 versions of this coin with the same name ! very confusing.
Dev please take away XVS from coinmarketcap. No one wants to be on this chain. No one has this coin except you
who has millions of swap coins. Ethically you have to burn those coins you received from swap.
VSX is a great coin but XVS is going to destroy it.
If I knew XVS was going to be alive after the swap I would not invested here.

i hope you do something about it. At least change XVS name from Vsynic to Notsync.

I talked to devs, they said that Vsync's team gonna considering about the rest of swap coins (you can check how many it is by looking at the first address in the richlist of Vsync's explorer). Please be patient, the swap will be finished at 25th of September. Developers extend the deadline because postpone after technical issues occured after the softfork.

I'm a wallet novice, so forgive the question: I've downloaded the Vsync qt wallet, it's not doing anything, no syncing/other, do I need to download the qt program or do something else to make it work ?
I don't know what you mean. Do you download the appropriate version of wallet for your operating system, such as wins 32/64/linux, etc.?
If yes, you just open the notepad, copying and pasting the addnodes list I gave you in the previous thread, then saving the file as vsync.conf into the working directory of wallet at "Wallet in use". Deleting all files in the directory of "wallet in use", except wallet.dat, vsync.conf, masternodes.conf(if you do run your masternode). Then running the wallet again, it will be synced with the network after serveral minutes.

I don't know why you got the problem, My total hashrate for VSX is 24.7, the figure for pool is 848.6, so my percent is somewhere around 3%. I don't know how to upload image here, so you can check it using the following link

However, I got a serious problem with the pool yesterday. I have mined continuously so my coins paid for each interval (such as 5-hour interval) should be almost the same. Yesterday, after the paid out of about 600 VSX, all of my coins in the status of immatured or confirmed, the total figure of those is somewhere around 900 VSX) which should be paid out for the next round disappeared. Then my total unpaid plummeted to 0. I posted yesterday, asking the pool for help, they contacted me, but I haven't still received their answer.

Finally, I and my friend got the SO pool's compensation as a result of their technical isssue. You can check it by copying and pasting the following hashes into the Vysnc's explorer, I don't know how to upload images here.

28f8338206211d5da6600e9db9e780a293c674b150930c373a91561f1bed5917 with 750 VSX sent to my wallet.

Additionally, the pool claims that they have upgraded their system, so that sort of technical issue never happen again.
