61  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC is Trending on Twitter on: September 10, 2021, 06:59:40 AM
Well this could also be a double-edged sword, i would prefer to see BTC raising slowly and organically, we dont want to see too much FOMO again which usually leads to unrealistic spike and then a crash. We are not in a hurry, crypto needs to be accepted step by step.
62  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is only new to the newbie on: September 10, 2021, 06:56:58 AM
There will always be a lot of skeptics who refuse new technologies. People were against computers in the beginning for being too big, then they were skeptical about internet because why would you need that if you have evening news on TV. They dont believe in electric cars and will keep forcing gas usage, dont even get me started about self driving cars etc... But no matter how hard they resist, technology will always catch up. Progress cannot be stopped.
63  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is a hardware wallet really worth it? on: September 08, 2021, 10:25:07 AM
I myself am using a hardware wallet and i much calmer then having my coins on exchange or regular wallet.
Biggest draw back for me is that you should save your seed in two different physical locations in case of fire or water damage. Also, hardware wallets usually don’t offer staking, or if they do, its for a small APY.
64  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What would you consider living on crypto? on: September 08, 2021, 10:23:51 AM
It could work in some countries where prepaid cards with Crypto are available and in some stores where GiftCard accept.
But not all countries are prepared so that the population has these payment options.
This future is not far away we need cities modernized with these technologies and therefore citizens educated with these new changes.
From my own experience I can say that I live totally with Bitcoin and Altcoins and that when I need Fiat to buy my food and pay my bills I use a P2P exchange.

Well if you can use Visa debit card in your country, which is possible in more than 200 countries around the world, then they cannot prohibit you to use your crypto Visa debit card. Those cards are around since 2014 and they made it so easy for us to spend crypto offline.
For example in my country, no bank offers debit/credit card that gives you cashback, thats why crypto cards are that much more interesting for us to use.
65  Economy / Economics / Re: Tulip Mania 2.0 on: September 07, 2021, 07:00:11 AM
There are many nocoiners that claim that Bitcoin is “Tulip Mania 2.0”, but it has been 10 years. How long must the protocol keep running before the rest of the world accepts that Bitcoin is not going anywhere. In fact, it opened a Pandora’s Box of new possbilities. BUT, I believe the next “Tulip Mania” for this bull cycle are, NFTs.

Maybe its better some people are still convinced that crypto is ponzi, that means we can expect healthy and slow market rise as opposed to a quick spike like it was with tulip mania. Those really never end well and deniers will sooner or later have to accept that this in the new reality.
66  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Buying $30 in Bitcoin on Tuesday! For El Salvador and for Bitcoin on: September 07, 2021, 06:49:02 AM
is this the reason why the pump happened since yesterday ? this big event on El Salvador as this is almost 100 million dollars worth of bitcoin to be added in capitalization ?

Plans of Slavador government has been known for some time so i doubt that is the reason for price rise. I genuinely think those buys are influenced by recent FOMO.
I hope El Salvador government will offer some blockchain education to their citizens, because right now crypto knowledge there is pretty poor.
67  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why are some individuals hostile to Bitcoin? on: September 06, 2021, 06:33:58 AM
You will find individuals being hostile towards every single thing. Some people just want to aggressively show they don’t feel the same about whatever you are doing. Especially when it comes to money, its either they don’t trust in any other system, or they benefit somehow with BTC crashing, there are some huge shorts out there.
68  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The introduction of NFT has made the world become selfish, called it adoption on: September 06, 2021, 06:26:39 AM
There is no denial that NFT is overhyped right now, everyone who is in crypto for few years sees that. We saw what happened to ICOs in 2017 and how most of those project who made millions went bust soon after.
Its clear that 90 % of NTF sold today will be useless when the next big thing comes around.
69  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Gas Fee Of BNB Is Increasing on: September 05, 2021, 12:29:26 PM
We have seen a huge increase of projects being built on BSC network, its not hard to predict how things will turn out in the next few years if Binance wont get bust from all the regulatory problems they have lately. And if eventually fees will be as high as on ETH chain, then i am sure there will be another blockchain who will take up this opportunity and filled the gap.
70  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: El Salvador rolls out 200 Bitcoin ATMs in a bid to speed-up nationwide adoption on: September 05, 2021, 12:11:46 PM

Didn't people protest against trains and cars in the past? Or more recently against cell phone towers? It's normal Smiley

I wonder what happens to Bitcoin adoption in El Salvador when Bitcoin rises 800%. I expect (poor) people to start speculating with the little money they have, and some will lose a lot when Bitcoin drops 80% again. People who were no where near rich enough to speculate on Bitcoin will suddenly have an easy opportunity to do so.

They will have a huge problems with smaller companies adopting BTC as a official payment. Crytpo education there is still pretty low and government will have spend quite a lot of money to educate their people.
But you are right, if BTC really starts being mass adopted around the world, then Salvador will get pretty rich Cheesy
71  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is only new to the newbie on: September 04, 2021, 08:37:02 AM
A lot of people are not financially literate and have bigger problems understanding how bitcoin works. Lets just look Salvador, the first county to make BTC official currency. Now they have problems because only 5 % of population actually understands what bitcoin is and how is it used. Companies are already protesting against accepting BTC as payment currency.
72  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: HODL vs Staking, What is the best strategy? on: September 03, 2021, 08:17:55 PM
If you dont mind that you are holding your BTC on exchange and not in a hardware wallet, then staking is a way better option. I really wish Ledger would offer BTC and ETH staking. If you are like me and dont trust any exchange, then you are stuck with holding your assets.
73  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Slovenian crypto tax proposition on: September 03, 2021, 07:44:21 PM
That 15.000 € per year really is a surprising exception since you now need to report interests from banks fiat saving accounts if they are higher than 1000 € per year.
This new crypto law would indeed be good for long time holders.

75  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]|DUSK Network| Privacy-oriented chain specifically for Digital Securities! on: July 31, 2019, 04:35:14 PM
The BlockchainBrad Interview made me realize some things that have gone unnoticed before.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RWTcSM_4zgw

The tone of mystery adopted by Jelle makes me hopeful that something big has hit Crypto, and we will be on the rise very soon, and especially a lot of news from Big Partners.

I believe in mass adoption but unfortunately the thing that is holding crypto back is greed like in all other fields. We all know there are some project that have huge potential like Dusk we just have to pray they wont succumb to greed.
76  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]|DUSK Network| Privacy-oriented chain specifically for Digital Securities! on: July 30, 2019, 03:06:01 PM
To anyone who is worried about the price: Marketcap is peanuts now and even when it hits 500m it’s tiny anyway compared to thing they are trying to archieve.

It could not hit 500 mln. This was a total supply tokens, and 50% of tokens were for token sale (250 mln), but Dusk had token sale in hard time and only 56% were raised (so there were sold only 140 mln tokens. This 140 mln as I understand from their schelude will be unlocked in 12 month? team and advisors tokens has vesting time too. So this is really low cap for such project on Binance. Matic, Harmony etc, has much more cap even on this deep  Roll Eyes

I cant seem to understand your logic. Yes, they sold 140 million tokens but but that doest mean token price cant go up and marketcap reaches 500 million or so. I would say this wouldnt be a surprise because the project is already doing great.
77  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]|DUSK Network| Privacy-oriented chain specifically for Digital Securities! on: July 21, 2019, 08:52:40 AM
I know I'm quite astounded by what DUSK Network team have achieved these past few days and never have expected it - successive listings with exchanges, CMC listing, Delta integration, community build-up, regular development updates, price stability, etc - all of which i thought would never be possible to achieve in such a very short period of time and to be honest this is my first time to have such an amazing and hopeful experience with a very dedicated and capable developer team of DUSK Network. Congratulations in advance for your upcoming testnet release! Smiley

Well we kinds lowered our expectations for most ICOs after 2018 drop happened and to see Dusk rising so fast and being one of the first projects to actively restart their development and promotion is really amazing.
78  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]|DUSK Network| Privacy-oriented chain specifically for Digital Securities! on: July 13, 2019, 06:28:46 PM
Let us not be confused by DUSK adopting ERC-20 and BEP-2 standards since I was thinking that it is a strategic move to reach out to more stakeholders as possible thus enabling a more wider distribution of the token but if I'm not mistaken, in the end and once the mainnet goes live, this tokens will be naturally swapped to DUSK Network's native token (DUSK) and will be consolidated accordingly.

This is how i interpret this whole situation also, and it seems like their decision to adopt BEP-2 is working out in terms of popularity. We see this all the time with ERC20 but i never saw a project doing more blockchains together.

Great to see you guys managed to make a deal with exchanges with quite high traction and not spend enormous amounts of money for expensive exchange fees. This way we will be able to see organic growth and not just a hype from listing.
80  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ICO IS LIVE] Jarvis - Fx, crypto, stocks | DApp browser | Revenue token on: March 10, 2019, 09:07:42 AM
Since everyone can contribute to a github repository maybe if they manage to build a good community they can speed up things with a community driven development

They could get some ideas and feedback for the community but its hard to attract big crowds nowadays and also everyone is a crypto guru suddenly so you have to be careful who is giving you ideas.
