Isn't it a bit hypocritical to spend so much time running down a coin and its dev while at the same time having a BiblePay address in your signature?
202  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BiblePay - New Coin Launch - Official Thread on: November 10, 2017, 08:39:51 PM
Does the team have experience in this sphere?

Yes, lead dev has founded a successful cryptocurrency project and maintains it with 5 devs currently.

From 1 guy to 5 now. wow.

mining millions and millions of coins to dump on everyone.

called it

Wow, talk about out of context. He said he has a previous CC project that has 5 devs. BBP has 1.

Tall about the accuser of the brethren...
He's desperately trying to find some mud to hurl but so far he hasn't really found any.  I think he's doing a good job of demonstrating how little there is wrong with this coin.  And Rob has shown the wisdom of Solomon by not feeding the troll.

I'm suspicious of coinpimp321.  So many posts only about this coin and often twisting the facts or making something out of nothing.  Seems to be interested in creating FUD for some reason.  Their username is also a big red flag.  I suppose every thread here has someone like that?

How to spot a pump and dump cryptocurrency

the following is not investment advice. purely for entertainment. not about biblepay

1. pick a coin name. this is fun!

2. hide yourself so you can operate under obscurity. anonymous domains, hosting, emails, twitter account.  in other words a very light google footprint

etc.
etc.

I get the concept of due diligence and I think you made the point you wanted to make. Of course the crypto-world is ridden with coins that are purely for profit, but I don't think this is one of them. We're sponsoring a lot of orphans right now, and I never had the feeling Rob was someone who would take profit at the costs of those orphans losing their sponsorship (and hope).

I'm with this coin since the early days, I've read every post on this forum, and I personally have the feeling that Rob is a person with character and determination just going by the way he writes (and is consistent in what he writes). I he's a fraud, he's the best I've ever seen.
I agree and if anyone wanted to make a pump and dump coin, I'm sure there would be much easier ways to do it.  Mr. "coinpimp" could just as easily be trying to create fud to lower the price and buy cheap.  That's not what I think, it's just one of the things people should be wary of.
205  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Litecoin - a lite version of Bitcoin. Launched! on: November 07, 2017, 08:13:55 PM
I expect LTC to drop heavily in the next week versus bitcoin. Get out now while you have the chance people  Smiley I think the market realized that korean noobs that cannot read pumped this coin and it was the only reason it went up. Litecoin has no innovation (theymos gave it a 0). Pretty funny how sad this coin is. It will probably get another pump after bitcoin fork, but I think long term litecoin is truly doomed  Cheesy
I hope nobody took your advice, it's shot up prior to the fork.

All-

CoinExchange.IO declined our offer to list for 500,000 BBP down and the balance of the 2BTC over 6 months:

Hi biblepay,

Thank you for your interest but we respectfully decline your application to list on CoinExchange.io at this time.

All the best with your coin.

Sincerely,

CoinExchange.io Support Team

=-=-=-=-=-=

I sent them a thank you reply explaining how you cannot serve both God and Mammon.

Lets dust ourselves off and keep searching for another exchange.

I find it strange that exchanges want to charge when they should make lots of money from the fee every time people buy and sell a coin.  Did you try this relatively new exchange? I don't know if they will be more keen to list coins?  https://www.kucoin.com

What about atomic swaps?  This is a good read, hopefully we wont need the exchanges as much as they need us soon https://cryptoinsider.21mil.com/atomic-swaps-decentralized-exchanges-and-a-look-into-altcoin-io/

When people start buying 1.1 million coins, they will need those miners.  It's great that we can all get some coins with our lower level CPU's but I think it would take us years to mine enough for all the sanctuaries.
208  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BiblePay - New Coin Launch - Official Thread on: November 06, 2017, 07:50:33 AM
Would it be worth trying to get listed on the Kucoin exchange?  They're relatively new but seem to be growing fast and might not have such big fees.  https://www.kucoin.com

How much bbp are you getting from mining sharpshot?
I can get about 300 a day, if I use more than one computer.  I only leave a low end PC on overnight, so I could get more. Writing a letter to an orphan is the best way to get coins.

Have ICO investors got access to their coins yet and can they sell them? Im interested to see how many people bail out early.

No not yet.

How about just giving us a date/time when this will happen so we know how much to wait?
They gave a time twice and they couldn't deliver, so now they are waiting until they're sure it will work.  I presume they needed some sleep after not having any for so long.  I've never seen the point of working without sleep because you make more mistakes and there's a point where you just don't function properly.  Hopefully they've all had some sleep and will work on it again today.  I don't mind if it takes a few days, as long as it works when they start it up.

Interesting project, but such a slow website it makes it difficult to gather information. Anyone else faces this problem ??
It loads quite fast for me, never had a problem with it.
212  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BiblePay - New Coin Launch - Official Thread on: November 04, 2017, 08:44:18 AM
I've been hit by the trading limits on other exchanges with other coins as well.  coinexchange.io wouldn't let me sell my small amount of Dogecoin.  Hopefully when the BiblePay price moves up, this wont be a problem.  I do think it could be difficult for people to buy enough coins to get a sanctuary though.  Are people going to want to sell BiblePay at these low levels?  I wouldn't want to sell mine and if there aren't enough sellers for the people who need to buy 1.1 million coins, how will it happen?
213  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [LAUNCHED][POW]⚡ELECTRONEUM⚡Official Moderated Thread on: November 03, 2017, 09:47:25 PM
It seems like they're holding funds from all official mining pools so they can sift ETN to pay ICO investors? Unlike ERC20 Tokens which can be issued with ease to ICO investors, Electroneum decided to use a fork of Monero which is based on Cryptonote tech, which means you cannot issue tokens, you have to mine them. I understand they pre-mined like 9 billion though? Or did they fuck up their pre-mine?

Maybe they fucked up with the pre-mine and are holding all official mining pools in order to pay ICO holders? Who knows I'm just being speculative here, but it's very odd that all official mining pools have stopped paying out miners, not to mention the ridiculous 4% mining fee! Should be max 2%.

What's even more surprising is that a ETN has a max supply of 21,000,000,000 which is mind blowing considering the price is .09 right now. This coin should be well less then a cent based on pure fundamentals, granted the sheer amount of noobs and hype around the coin has generated tons of interested. I do like the fact 237890132709437094327021 noobs are learning what the hell a wallet-cli is and are learning about mining and the pain staking process behind it though. Tongue

they premined 60% of the coins, which you can see on block #1 https://blockexplorer.electroneum.com/tx/878ec74ff5f305ba30df3bae5f84bc59c8cb8cfbcc3df12f58dd7e646999892b

thats 12.6 billion coins premined out of total supply of 21 billion. supposedly 4.4 billion of that is for ico coins that are still waiting to be paid and the other 8.2 billion of the premine is for the "mobile simulated mining experience".  afaik this 8.2 billion premine for the mobile mining experience was NOT announced at all which comes as a massive surprise, and IMO its way to large and is going to really a gold mine for  hackers to simulate phones so they can accumulate more for themselves.  The other unmined 8.4 billion is for desktop miners who mine the actual blockchain (mobile mining experience does not mine the blockchain or find any blocks at all, its fake mining, and this WAS CLEARLY communicated in their technical white papers which apparently nobody read and this furthered a lot of misunderstanding/mistrust/miscommunication.)

the reason for the high 4% fee they said is because they wanted to encourage other pools to pop up (they themselves did not want to be the main pool that everyone uses).

they did say one of the purposes of ETN was to "introduce" everyday people into the crypto world , which is sort of working, but unfortunately the failed launch of the desktop wallet and ico coins and the lack of good communication from the company I think is just pissing off more people so its kind of backfiring.  especially since a lot of people really thought they'd be able to mine a lot using cpus when in reality they didnt stand a chance against the pro gpu miners.  They should have communicated better expectations for sure.  Combine that with the the completely broken official electroneum pools (which they have yet to address which is even more embarrassing to them), and its really just a disaster launch.

for me personally I mined a *lot* of coins right from the start and sold them all, but I knew what I was doing when everyone else was scrambling how to use their desktop cpu miner they downloaded (and unfortunately pointed them at the broken pools which they would have no idea of why they werent getting anything), and even many gpu miners had no idea how to mine monero.   i'm also an investor, and waiting for the ico release, and i do expect a dump at first but after this initial dump I'm hoping people get over the all the distaste going on (yes, they messed up big time), but in general for their future I think they do have something big especially with the online gambling and gaming aspects..., so i expect the coin will rise back up at some point.
They say that they thought of hackers simulating phones and people using lots of phones and have something in place to stop it happening.  The video on facebook is worth watching, makes me think they have thought a lot of things through and when they get the immediate problems sorted out, this coin could be worth holding.

Hey Guys,

New to this whole crypto currency thing.
Someone told me about bitcoin way back when they first came out and ignored it. Few days ago read a forum where passive income was discussed and many people were talking about mining and trading altcoin. I had no idea what the altcoin was. Anyway, I started reading about it and realized that there are over 1000s altcoins now. WOW!

Been reading a lot lately in past week and came to conclusion that the bitcoin train has passed, and I should invest in some new coin that is in market recently and hope for the best.

Question from noob here. Is this a good coin to purchase? from reading this forum, it seemed like it is but at the same time getting the feeling in last few pages that it is not.

Also, should I be mining this coin or it is too hard now. I have a old gaming PC with AMD R9 280x. Most of the coins that I investigated suggests it is not profitable on that card and I should instead mine on nicehash. Tried Nicehash for two days and got about $2 worth of shares and need to keep it running for over a week to get the lowest payout threshold. Sad

I would come back in a week and see what's happening with Electroneum then.  People seem to either be overly optimistic or hate the coin.  The reality should be clearer in a week from now.  Perhaps BiblePay might be worth a look, you can mine from the wallet using the CPU and it works with low end PC's.  Might be a long shot and I know it could be controversial but at least you can get lots of coins.
215  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BiblePay - New Coin Launch - Official Thread on: November 03, 2017, 11:43:19 AM

am i understanding this correctly. $770 to run a sanctuary and $7700 to run a masternode?

is that money paid to the charity fund?

what are the benefits to an investor to do this?

Don't take my word as Gospel, but I don't think we "pay" this amount to run the sanctuary (which actually is a masternode), we just have to own that much to run the sanctuary. The coins will be "locked-in" so to speak. If you shut down your sanctuary you get your coins back.
At least that is my understanding.

The advantage is that you recieve some block reward for running a sanctuary.

Correct, you tie up about 1.1 million biblepay in an escrow address and create a sanctuary keypair, and at that point you have the privilege to run a sanctuary, which gives you voting rights for the budget, and awards you approx 1.1 million biblepay in subsidies over approx. 12-24 months (The ROI is dependent on how many sanctuaries are competing with you).  The escrow is used to provide the instant send service (IE sending coins without confirms) and also for retirement account trading.

With bitcoin going up so fast, I calculate 1.1 million BiblePay would cost $886.34 at the current price.  That seems a lot for a new coin.  Also, wouldn't buying that much take a long time and would move the price up?  I'm sure it would cost much more than $886.34 if that's true and is it even possible to buy that much right now?  It doesn't look like anyone has tried it, because the volume is too low on the one listed exchange.  Wouldn't it be sensible to have a much lower required amount of BiblePay for the first few sanctuaries, then raise the amount slowly?  I do hope people buy 1.1 million BiblePay but is that realistic this year?

Is it possible to mine this with nVidia GPU?
Yes, there's a video about Awesome Miner for Electroneum using nVidia on YouTube that made it easy for me.

I don't think there's too much to be anxious about yet.  I'm sure everyone that was going to dump this coin at the first opportunity will be getting anxious but they knew it was a risk.  For anyone wanting to hold, this doesn't make much difference, it's much easier to hold when you can't access your wallet  Smiley
218  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO] ⚡ Electroneum ⚡ Token Sale Sept 14th Mobile Mining Crypto Coin on: November 02, 2017, 02:53:33 PM
I think the miners succeed to mine thoses coins in one day. They were maybe not a lot so each one got a huge amount of ETN. I think some people succeed to get near 0.5 BTC.
I am afraid that the mining with smartphone or with the CPU is going to be impossible as the mining difficulty is rising and the number or miners too.
Don't sell low your coins. Be patient and everyone can make a good profit i think.
The amount of ETN coming into cryptopia is concerning. It's not all from 1 days mining surely? And no one else can access their coins. The devs need to get onto this and communicate better.
There was around 4,500 miners just on the European pool I was using.  I doubt many of them made 0.5 BTC.  I'm sure that a lot of the miners also bought some coins in the ICO, like I did.

Funny how the knockers obviously haven't done their own research or they've listened to the YouTube gurus that pump the worst coins ever and didn't evaluate this one properly.  Everything pre-launch seemed about as impressive as it could be to me.  The problems today are mostly caused by the overwhelming number of people that are into this coin.  That's the sort of problem many new coins would love to have.  I'm impressed that I'm able to mine on the first day, with so many people doing the same thing.  The mobile phone app being delayed is a shame but will anyone care in a few weeks time?
220  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO] ⚡ Electroneum ⚡ Token Sale Sept 14th Mobile Mining Crypto Coin on: November 01, 2017, 09:18:15 PM
Seems like they totally failed the launch. Still no mobile miner and mining is not easy at all, that's a shame
They've given a good reason for not having mobile phone mining from the launch and I found mining was relatively easy.  Given that there were so many people wanting to mine this coin straightaway, did anyone seriously think there wouldn't be a few problems?  This is much better than all the coins that only have a few miners.
