81  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BTCZ] BitcoinZ - Low Fees, 100% Community, POW-Equihash No-Premine No-Tax on: January 30, 2018, 02:34:13 AM
Let your voice be heard!

Cryptopia is now much more than 5 BTC (It's actually 17.2 BTC at current DOT pricing). In addition, CoinExchange.io has gone up to 4 BTC.

With this being the case, we need to vote on how to proceed with the exchange race. The following are options the community has put together in order to move forward with our never-ending chase of exchanges.

Vote now! https://doodle.com/poll/t2bpenn288s6ndna

I think the result is pretty clear and won't change anymore. Can we close the vote and proceed? I would like to donate, but as long as it's unclear what's happening with the donations, I am going to wait. Since there are no donations during the past few days, other seem to do the same.

So, let's go to BTC-Alpha instantly and make a race between OpenLedger + Coinexchange.io and CoinRail!!

A couple of things to remember:
1. Even if it's 100% for one item at 200 votes, that's a small fraction of the total community and could actually be a losing vote if we were to get more people to vote.

2.
A Tier 2 proposal must be submitted on the BitcoinZ Info Bulletin by visiting
https://info.btcz.rocks and clicking the ‘Submit New Proposal’ button. Extensive details are
encouraged, as the proposal will be posted on the ‘Proposal’ board and voting for a period of 7
days from the date of posting will commence.

I really can't belive the fact that the devs did not make a formal announcement about coinomi wallet. I found out on tweeter...

Do the devs really think it is wise not to communicate to you community?

If you think all people go to discord/slack or telegram you are mistaken. MANY go JUST  on the forum(bitcointalk).
For days it is silent.

This is a community coin. The devs have a job, to dev. There are people in the community who do marketing, etc. etc.

Being a community, it's up to each and every one of us to do our part. If you saw on twitter, help out and share the word. We're all in this together!

As for the lack of announcement, it's been in their beta app for some time and latest release just got pushed (and as seen on slack as of last night, not fully rolled out all around the world yet). Once we receive confirmation that it's available for everyone, we'll make the announcement on Twitter, Facebook, etc.

Please have patience. Just because you saw the news before the official community account posted it, doesn't mean the community is all of a sudden dead.

Roughly 200.000$ for a listing on Cryptopia... WTF?! This is insane. Even a listing on the biggest exchange, Binance, is cheaper (80.000$).

Let's go for BTC-Alpha. The site seems to be a WEX clone (formerly known as BTC-e). Only the stylesheet is different. WEX is great. Very reliable, fast API, never got hacked and even the FBI was not able to shut the site down for long.

It's also great that there are just a few dozen coins on BTC-Alpha and not thousands of s**tcoins. Really brings a lot of attention to BTCZ. Let's go to BTC-Alpha as quickly as possible before the listing fees go up...

But I don't understand the voting - how can we pay BTC-Alpha right now if the exchange fund is only 0.5 BTC? When does the voting close?

BTC-Alpha will also provide us with a USD pair, not just BTC which is great.

The plan if paying BTC-Alpha passes is to take what has been collected thus far and take whatever else is needed from the general fund to make full payment for that listing.

If the vote is then to continue a race, we'll reset everything and start the race over for the next set of exchanges.

I think another way to help this coin without any funding is targetting a minimum price every week. For example, we will target the price for this week is not to sell under 120 satoshi, next week is not under 140 satoshi and so on.
The community need to reunite to do this commitment. This is good for both sides.

The problem is with the way you and many others think in this thread.

BTCZ and ZClassic are essentially the same thing with different dev teams.

BTCZ has official Android wallets which I use
ZCL doesn't have any android wallet.

I think having mobile wallet is extremely important because Windows wallets are heavy and could be fully of Trojans and keyloggers I I always hesitate to install one. So I can't even use ZCL.

ZCL founders are already forking out to BTCP so they don't even believe in their own project and are trying to change names.

At current value of ZCL comparing with BTCZ market cap our BTCZ is worth:
$0.53 or BTC 0.00004550
That's 4550 Satoshis if you value it the same as ZCL but our community is stronger and we have retail solutions and Android wallets we are also on more exchanges. So dont even think about selling at 120 Satoshis !!

We just have way less publicity and YouTube promoters than ZCL.

We also need more developers.

O and sending BTCZ from one android phone to another takes about 7 seconds plus confirmation time which is very fast.

Unfortunately BTCZ has privacy which I don't like. BTC is powerful because of transparency. One lightening is implemented it will lose that so it will lose market share. Privacy means we could get hacked and no One knows where the coins went. I also means theoretically there could be code to generate unlimited coins hidden behind privacy.

If you think BTCZ and ZCL are "essentially the same thing", you're sorely confused.

Look at the:
- Total supply
- Block reward
- Focus on decentralization over everything else
- Active community

While as with all equihash forks, there are similarities, they are *not* essentially the same thing. You might see a coin as a unit of trade, others choose to see it as symbolization of a community.

Everything has good and bad. You may see privacy as a bad thing -- and if so, please share your bank account transaction history. If you're not willing to do so, then maybe you appreciate privacy more than you think you do. Yes, hackers can hide money in zaddresses. They can also hide money in bank accounts. They can also hide money under a rock. People choose to focus on what the bad people can do with technology and completely overlook all the good it provides to everyday life. It's like all the people who thing crypto as a whole is bad for the world because Nicehash got hacked or Bitconnect scammed people.

from discord:

bartekhl
next partner that we have lost
people always care for themselves , the ones who dont tell - they have something to hide
we have already lost bittrex , now suprnova
at some point we will lose the market

what does it mean?

It doesn't mean anything. bartekhl is confused and was thinking suprnova is a partner of BTCZ when they are only a partner of their own wallet.

We haven't lost Bittrex in any way shape or form. They requested we ask the community to stop spamming them, which we did. How that's a loss is beyond me.

Bittrex is a big exchange. They will warm up to us when our volume is much higher.

Hi everybody,
I think I made a bad mistake, can you help me clarify this, It may help new BitcoinZ miner too.
I only had experience with ethereum and nicehash so I'm not aware of the "t and z" address principle...
I mine around 1000 coin on a "t" address generated by the Wallet 1.1.0.4 but I don't see the coin even if they are confirmed...
I have read that freshly mined coin should be mine to 'z' address, but when I try, the server doesn't accept the address.
Coinomi address seems to be 't' type too.
Can someone help me to clarify that please.
Thank you,
I'd like to continue mining on this project, and contribute in a pool that donate...

Welcome to the community!  The difference between a taddress and a zaddress is:
- taddresses are public addresses. They are anonymous but not private. This means people can see what transactions the taddress sends and receives in the explorer. When you mine, you have to mine to a taddress.
- zaddresses are private addresses. You can send coins from a taddress to a zaddress and back. People can't see what coins go into, move between or move out of zaddresses because they are truly private.

As I mentioned before, you always mine to a taddress -- never a zaddress.

I hope this helps!

I'm using btczpool.com to mine. It has 1% pool fee. Does anyone know how much of the 1% is donated to the community?
My goal is to donate at least 1% of my mined coins back to community on regular basis. So, if the pool donate 0.6%, I will donate at least 0.4% back to community on regular basis.
I also encourage all miners donate at least 1% of the mined coins back to community on regular basis. It's fine to use 0% fee mining pool if you prefer. Just remember donate 1% back to community on regular basis.
Donation is the BLOOD for any community coin.   Smiley

I don't think that pool donates: http://bitcoinzguiding.ovh/pools.html

I completely agree with you that it's up to us to make sure BTCZ succeeds. The blockchain doesn't enforce any dev fees and this is why we've taken it upon ourselves to push pools to donate automatically -- not to force people to donate, but to help people donate. I know if the pool didn't make automatic donations, I'd never remember to do it myself.

We have other ways of donating also. Check out https://hash4.btcz.rocks/. I have one of my rigs on that donation address. Basically, you mine to donate and every week, a lottery is drawn. A winner gets 10% of the donations, the rest go to the community. What a great way to give and potentially get some back!

I have been mining BTCZ for quite some time now, what is the best pool to do it?
I read in the posts above that Suprnova is not the best one to do it.

The best pool is The pool you personally like most. Some pools have a forced donation to the developers, I denied that and instead say people can freely choose if they want to donate to development and then point miners either to the devs account or send funds there directly. On Suprnova you mine and you decide what happens with the coins, not the pool op

None of the pools donate to the devs. The pools that donate, donate to the community. BTCZ is a community coin that desperately needs donations to compete with ICOs. Without donations, we'd all be wasting time mining it since it wouldn't be on any exchanges. Please learn more about what you're broadcasting before giving people suggestions on what they should do.

Ah and so the community is receiving the funds ? How can I, as a miner, claim my funds then? And why is it so bad if this donation is non mandatory like on Suprnova?

You must be joking! On supranova you have a 1%tax for each block!!! 1% that goes to supranova owner.

On community pools same amount of 1% is kept by the pool: 0.8% goes to the community chest. Supranova dorsn’t HELP this community at all! Without funds we can’t get listed o new exchanges and we can’t do marketing campaigns.
Community funds doesn’t mean you can claim your coins, you can just vote what to do with them whenever a proposal is voted.
Right now you mine on supranova, pay taxes for them, and if you also donate you lose more BTCz.

Hmm, why don't we all donate everything to some internet "community fund" to get us listed on exchanges ? Honestly if there's a fund necessary to get listed on exchanges, it saddens me as usually coins should do some kind of innovation to automatically get listed (for free) on exchanges.. Also if the devs decide to built a community fund and then force pools to donate a certain amount to that fund, you can simply add a forced part of the block to be paid directly to that fund, so the words "No Tax" in the header don't make any sense anymore or you're cheating the miners. Community should request a lot and then a exchange WILL list it. However, exchanges also don't operate for free (you thought so?) and take a fee off every trade and withdrawal.. So you might want to create a free exchange first which runs with free energy out of thin air and where unicorns operate the exchange  (and maybe pools too) 24x7 365 days a year.. Also the servers run in winter wonderland and don't cost anything nor they consume energy.

However, I like being phantastic, so I'll make the start, free mining for everyone:

How about instead make your fee 5% or create another pool for people to mine on, dropping your hash rate below and away from 50% so we're not at risk for a 51% attack?  In all honesty, I don't care how much you make. I do care that you're not donating -- so dropping your fee to 0% allows people to be more willing to donate that 1% -- thank you.

There is still the issue of your pool having most of the network hash power, putting BTCZ at risk for being targeted by a 51% attack.

Yeah I think so. I'm doing an hour run on it with about 2900 sol/s. I'll report my earnings here.

Mined for an hour and got 6.71 ltcz. Going to wait to see if it comes through the wallet before thinking about mining more. The whales in the discord were cracking me up talking about mining a couple million lol

yeah I mined to and didnt get alot of coins. I figured it would be new and it wouldnt be bad and I could get some coins but its like a kind of hard coin to mine.

we need volume

If my math is correct, this coin is slated to take 80 years to mine the 840M supply:

840000000 coins / 50 block reward * 2.5 minutes/block / 60/24/365 (minutes to years)

I don't think it's enough. There are instructions that have been posted in discord:

Quote
For those who asking for the wallet here is all the info need (FOR WINDOWS)(edited)
Download https://litecoinz.info/downloads/litecoinz-1014-win64.zip and unzip where you want ex: c:\litecoinz
create folder in appdata LitecoinZParams and litecoinz
download this file here https://1fichier.com/?wy2en6u50z
or create a litecoinz.conf in litecoinz folder orwith those parameters :

gen=1
rpcuser=USERNAME
rpcpassword=PASSWORD
server=1
listen=1
addnode=88.86.186.158

download sprout and unzip them in litecoinZparams folder https://litecoinz.info/downloads/sprout.zip or faster link https://equipool.1ds.us/static/litecoinz-sprout.zip
Then you can start wallet with litecoinzd.exe file
wait close it and reopen it and it will download block

After open LitecoinzSwingWalletUI.jar
but you need to have installed java before
https://www.java.com/en/download/win10.jsp

After use NVIDIA miner https://drive.google.com/file/d/1PrFBWLZmdcoqyCOGiKcy0qO4mKrl7Tm_/edit
here is my conf : zm --server mine.equipool.1ds.us --port 50091 --user WALLET.USERNAME --pass x --time
You can also use last ccminer or ewbf
or for AMD claymore https://github.com/nanopool/ClaymoreZECMiner/releases
My btc wallet if any want to give donations : 1DS2uJPWzDsE91UkqJSQThYAKWXvXAgSsH
LTCZ : L1E6ZxDEeU33JHTX9sCNRxVMqJurPQmZwSJ(edited)
Here is the mining pool link https://equipool.1ds.us/getting_started
so if does not work on one pc, you might want to try it on another,
i have no idea why it does not work on other pc although you did similar setup. maybe some programs is stopping it to run, or have conflicts.
goodluck

I'm not sure how well those instructions work, if someone that uses Windows can take them and refine them so they're more clear -- and then add the new instructions to the ANN post, it might help a lot of people who can't get the wallet working.
